Chris Harris yet again proves how brilliant of a car journalist he is, in terms of car world personalities he’s up there with the OG Top Gear trio in my humble opinion.
I can't lie.... this channel came out of nowhere and the production quality recently has been unreal, shout out to the videographers and editors that work on these videos, you're doing great.
It didnt really, for whos been following Chris from way before the Top Gear days, this quality was the standard on his channel, Chris Harris on Cars, when he started collaborating with Neil.
I remeber when we went from the f430 and scuderia to the 458 italia. How that car by its design engine and driving dynamics just seemed light years ahead by comparison. This 296 is giving me those vibes all over again.
Oh my God that is so right! The 458 is what made me feel this way. The 458 showed and it forced the entire industry to up their game. This is doing just that.
Always like reviews on YT by Chris Harris. Just gets the right amount of engagement and enthusiasm from his audience. Even when our budgets can't stretch to the cars he's testing. 👌👌👍
The Top Gear piece that Chris and co did on this car was one of the most awkward and shallow pieces I’ve ever sat through. This on the other hand - was epic. Chris Harris is as awesome as this car! Thanks for making the video ❤
Chris Harris was always top notch to me. He really knows how to push a car to its limits and intelligently explain everything that’s going on with the car. It’s an exciting learning experience watching his videos.
Phenomenal video. Chris just seemed completely in sync with the car going sideways and those slo-mo shots were stunning. What a great team. If I had the money I’d be straight down to the Ferrari dealership.
Amazing car no doubt. I can’t remember the last time I came across a performance car being driven properly even on the deserted roads near me in Northumberland, let alone a supercar. With that kind of performance you could ever open it up for more than a few seconds realistically. Even on a track day you would end up stuck behind slower cars every few seconds and you’d need a new pair of rear boots at lunchtime..
We ordered our 296 GTS in July 2022! It will take 3 years to get ours. We test drove in June at Los Altos Ca. It is a great car. We love everything about this car.
I couldn't believe it when they announced it would have 830hp. Totally blew my mind. I thought logically that a V6 with hybrid would be tops 750hp. I knew it would have more than the F8, because Ferrari always up the hp on a new model. But 830hp is just another level. Definitely blurs the line between supercar and hypercar. What a car...
Little late, but the 296 is ballistic, it's faster than the SF90 in the 1/4 mile and beyond, plus, it's hands down one of the most gorgeous vehicles ever to be made (not in this color way lol), definitely the prettiest car Ferrari has made in the last 20+ years.... and God, whatever you do, do not listen to this F6 with a custom exhaust, it just sounds absolutely incredible, even Ferrari's own V12 's and F12's don't sound as good as this thing once it has an exhaust on it 😬
Good old Harrismonkey‘s back! That puts a big smile on my face. Also, that with Ferrari, we‘re entering a new age of performance cars. They did it again. Now I‘m wishing for a contemporary OSCA: less than 190cm wide, 200-300hp hybrid, 2 seats, Italian styling and engine sound, a chassis that is comfortable enough and easy to use, no aggressive overdesigned body, just simple and fast. Not as tough as a Lotus, not as tight as a 4C. Just a down scaled 296.
Great video beautifully filmed! Watching CH sliding a Ferrari while chatting through the details is always fun. That spoiler is cool as. Can’t help but think the baby blue and red is a strong choice.
Or maybe he choses his words more carefully nowadays. I expected Chris to say something about the looks but no. The blue nose and wheels are ridiculous on a road car.
I think eventually Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc will find themselves in a tricky spot. If the baby Ferrari now has over 800 horsepower where does that leave the rest of the range, 1000 or more? Where does it end? At some point they'll have to say right, this is the right amount of power now let's focus on driver enjoyment as much as possible.. kind of like say, the Porsche GT3, so I wonder who is really more in the future?
It’s weird, he used to make this point about “where does it end” a lot, but since his top gear gig and his new found love for Ferrari, he’s just tossed that talking point out of the window.
Yes Chris. This is a mint video. You asked "What next?" Surely the performance doesn't need to be improved but imagine that performance in a lighter car with lower emissions. That would impress me
Chris is just getting better and better as a car commentator. Great video. Hid enthusiasm and performance bewilderment really comes across. Great car. Ferrari just have hit the nail on the head with this car.
Very few people can describe their senses and demonstrate a car to this effect. CH is one of the most engaging journalists at the moment and about the only one for these kind of cars
You know it is actually brutal if Chris Harris says if he turns off the traction control he will instantly drop it. This man is a good driver and usually like to drive with everything off
I think the first car to bridge hyper car and super car was the 765LT and to do it with out any hybrid systems and rear wheel drive is extremely impressive The SF90 is the second imo. The SF90 has a slight edge against the 765LT because it has a hybrid system and all wheel drive in terms of acceleration from 0 This car is def a crazy weird but awesome car. Imo this car is doing what the original 720S did. It was so ahead of all the other competitors and it made everyone raise their level. McLaren has the Altura but everyone who has compared that to this will take this. Let’s see where the mid level cars and the hyper cars go next. Exciting

Real owners of sf90s buy this 296 for a change. Yet, in real conditions of city streets, the sf90 is much faster due to awd, and ordinary owners still won’t drift these 296s in the city, as in this video, primarily because they don’t know how to do it like Chris. So for posing and traffic light acceleration the sf90 is better and that is what 90% of real Ferrari owners are looking for.

It's funny, Chris says "where's McLaren?". Harry's Garage just dropped an Artura video at the same time as this one on the same day, and he says the McLaren is a better rival and better drivers car overall. I've driven both as well, very tough decision, both are phenomenal and I think both are rivals to each other regardless of what anyone says.

I 100% agree with the engine sound Ferraris V8s last few years haven't sounded great. This V6 reminds of Ferrari V12 has that similar scream and growl that we all love.
great car, great video. the gear shifts are slurred so that the car uses power from the battery. if they don't, it over charges and there's no where to dump the charge.
The combination of red and baby blue is HIDEOUS
Hideous now, soon to be iconic
It's putrid
Yeah looks horrible
Agreed. What were they thinking!
Came here looking for this comment. Wasn't disappointed.

I think he's on the level of Needell and Metcalfe, brilliant automotive journalist.
True 👌

Right? 458 seemed so alien and futuristic!
Feels the same generation shift, but the f430 scuderia still holds up, great sound
Agreed. Hell just the upgraded gearbox in the 458 transformed the experience. It made the older cars feel agricultural and cheap
That car is on par with the f8 there is no upgrade

He might go down as the Goat if he keeps it up. I love how he's actually ringing out what the car is capable of while still enjoying it.
When I see a Chris Harris video, I click a million times faster than usual. Brilliant video as always!
Nothin better on a Sunday morning than watching Chris throw cars around a track, more please.

I hate the way Top Gear dumb him down
The "new" top gear sucks ass, its like 2 bully's and Chris doing car stuff.
It's only because the other two are morons. We all know Chris is the only intelligent one of those three.
Top Gear direction/editors versus the good old Neil and Chris show.
Forget the car. Chris’ control is just astonishing and frankly why we all stay glued to his videos. Unbelievable driving skills as always.
Can't wait for Chris to review a GM T50! ❤️
Maaan...I tought the same...Chris in a T.50 will be the video of the century...that car is a true gem 💪
Actual modern F1 hybrid technology coming down to the entry level is pretty cool
Can we just take a moment and appreciate Neil's capture of the transition from 5:50 to 6:13? Bravo!
💯 Superb camera work!

I recall Chris saying "where do we go from here" in a previous ferrari review.
