Your explanation of the Osiris Current below the Middle Pillar really reminds me of the way that a lightning flash, while giving the illusion of smashing into the ground below, is actually rising at an equally fast pace toward the sky, connecting the earth to the stratosphere like one of those purple balls of electric currents you see as a kid "Kinda like Tesla in a ball" if that makes sense.

Your book blows away Kraig's book. What are your thoughts on the LBRH and its purpose compared to the greater hexagram ritual?
Thanks for the comments! Don Kraig and I had the same teacher, but as I understand it, he didn't finish the grade work. I really don't understand the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram (the one with the different configurations of triangles). It's interesting to study it, though. Maybe you can explain it (?). I was never taught a greater or lesser forms. For me, it's just "the hexagram ritual."
@lyamchristopher2393 You are welcome. You deserve every compliment you get because of the excellent curriculum that you published for the rest of us to use. When I became a member of a GD order a long time ago...lol and finally worked through outer grades and entered the inner order, they didn't give much importance to the LBRH. I basically received a photocipy of the ritual from Llewellyn Regardie's soft covered book with a binder filled with the material I needed to learn and practice. Everything we learn is bound by oaths. This is why when your book came out with all of that practical self development work. I thought it was really incredible. Maybe you can do a video on oaths, and is it really applicable and practical in todays world.
@@alejandromolina5645 Conceivably, I violated my Neophyte oath by publishing the material. My teacher did make a comment on it at the time, but she wasn't that concerned about it. In terms of betraying secrets, most of the damage has already been done. Most of the Western Magical Tradition is a debasement of initiation techniques and enlightenment practices.
Fascinating, if the divine comes forth from Mother Earth/the plane of manifestation rather than from an external source, then “regular” human beings can be a vehicle for divine influences to come forth which would potentially mean more aware people? Doesn’t sound very great for keeping a political / exoteric spiritual status quo intact 🤔. Branding the perspective as heretical seems to be what the “people in power’s” survival instinct would compel them to do. Lyam, thank you so much for this content it has been so thought/practice provoking!
Well...said I was going to be the first to comment and I'm like 19th...oh the entaglments of time. Talking of old father time, a couple of related points: First it makes sense it's just the visible planets on the hexagram because they are also the only "personal planets". Saturn is the last personal planet, the last boundary to the self. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are generational planets, taking 8 to 28 years on each sign, Uranus the fastest of them takes up to 84 years to complete a lap around the zodiac. So they exert more of a geberational influence. Saturn is in fact the last frontier for this incarnation. The big black cube of manifestation, mass and time intimally bound. To break those chains we must let go of our physical bodies, to not be bound to time. Saturn devoured his sons, time will get us all. Consciousness bound to matter in a lifetime can't definetly break away from time, as time is intrinsic to mass. We can have glimpses of consciousness beyond time, astral projection, divination, remote viewing, all blurr the space time construct, but to truly beat it we must let go of physical existence. No mystic has initiated themselves permanently beyond their own natal chart/zodiac, nobody erased completely their own nature. But you already knew my opinnion on that 😑
Great points about the "generational planets." I also like the reference to Special Relativity. Not enough people know just how magical real science is (especially in regard to Einsteinian physics). Now I'll throw you a curve: No one can break free of time because no one has ever been caught within it to begin with. 😉
Hi Lyam! Something I’ve wondered about is why you recommend we chant IAO for the solar plexus during the middle pillar instead of YHVH ELOAH VA DAATH like I’ve seen in other texts. I switched it out a while back because it just felt more natural to me, even though it’s more of a mouthful 😂 I’m guessing you recommended this in part to introduce the myth of Osiris in the neophyte grade before we start working with the hexagram ritual in Zelator, but idk.
IAO for Tiphareth is simply the godname that the Golden Dawn taught me to use. I’m passing it on. As I understand it, IAO was in the version of the Middle Pillar exercise taught by Israel Regardie. Two things: (1) For daily practice, a word of power that is not too long and not too short seems helpful. When a word is too short, we can lengthen it by spelling it out first. The godname EL, for example, is pronounced “ALEPH-LAMED EL.” A name that’s too long can be replaced, it seems, by a shorter one. (2) IAO, since it calls upon the Osiris current, seems to introduce an important cthonic element to the student’s sphere of sensation-for the waking up of the sleeping Osiris principle.
Lyam, I am somewhat learned of Hebrew, and know of the ancient paleo roots of each letter, (outside of the Babylonian block script employed later on). Yods are a reference to an arm and hand and represent "strength" and being led in the right way. ex. In the name Ben-ya-min, (Benjamin), the yod helps to signify that he is the son of (His/God's) right hand. The nun is a symbol of a seed, or sperm, and new life, so I can sorta understand it referring to the earth. Resh is a reference to the head, (either physical head, or head OF something, like a leader). So I can sort of understand it's use to represent the sun. But anyways, those are the specific meanings of each letter in the YNRY. I hope this was helpful!
That's really cool. Could you point out some info about the Paleo roots? Keep in mind that various systems of association arise over time--and that newer ones (that arose in the Renaissance) are not wrong because they are fanciful. You are proceeding here in terms of purism. In terms of what appears to be a very old and "original" interpretation of Hebrew (or pre-Hebrew?) letters. The "origination" of a tradition is not only found in the past. It exists now. Just as the power of an ocean wave exists now, not just in its point of origin.
@@lyamchristopher2393 Yes, purism at it's finest XD My sources are, well, I grew up in that community and was well taught by scholars of the language. We still keep a lot of the same meanings for each letter today, albeit with some alteration/addendum. For example, Samach can represent a shield, but originally was symbolic of a curled snake. The modern Jew may think, "ah, how strange they could derive one from another", but with further study, it becomes evident why it evolved that way. The old meaning, and the new are not necessarily juxtaposed. However, I have found the attributes the GD leaders gave to some things like Hebrew language do not make much sense to me, and it seems as if they just didn't have all the right resources to provide the correct understanding of such things. You can see this in things like Crowley insisting that the Strength card and Justice be reversed, (even though it can be demonstrated very clearly why this is bad), or attempts to overlay certain gods/godforms with others that actually don't match at all for convenience sake, the attribute of earth being given to an archangel who's name literally means "fire of El", (in my mind the original prayer made more sense?). Anyways, I am aware that it probably doesn't matter as much in the grand scheme of things. The GD rituals will still work in the same way that Tibetan Buddhist rituals will still work. They will accomplish similar goals. What matters is probably intent more than specificity. Sorry for the long-winded reply. Hope you are having a wonderful day.
Hi Lyam! Thank you from my soul (as a romanian would formulate 🤭) for these videos and informations you share! I really appreciate and love your kindness and gentleness you radiate. Says one Practicus 🤫. There would be so much to express in gratitude for what you put out in this world but for now It came into my mind that the idea of using magical tools as dagger, or wands would be an interesting topic to hear from you. Especially that in the curriculum most of these are as optional tools. How these tools enhances one's ritual and how an adept would choose to use one or not? I submit this idea to your list of possible topics if it seems helpful and interesting to you. Thank you! 🌞
Your take is different than most and dare I say a chaos magick approach (apologies for playing fast and loose with that term), not a traditional Golden Dawn or it's modern offshoots. The light doesn't come from down under in the GD current "Let the divine White Brilliance descend" . Both your pentagram explanation video and this are highly personal takes on how you integrated and used the teachings. Which is absolutely fine, but they do differ significantly from Golden Dawn "lore" and 'logic'. Therefore students working your book will yield different results than those practicing the curriculum Self Initiation in the Golden Dawn, by the Cicero's, for example. The reason for a normal 2 triangles hexagram and not a unicursal is that the sun IS the magician (or rather the magician IS the SUN). In the center of the circle is the authority of the magician as the Sun (the aspect part, well explained by you). Sun is King and Ruler of all the planets this is why you draw 6 planetary hexagrams when you invoke the Sun. You are invoking HIM by mimicking IT'S authority and actions. (taking on aspects to arrive at essence).THEY rule and commands all the other planets. Aspects call forth essence, however the essence of your system seems (this is an intelectual conclusion ppl, don't sack me!) different than that of the GD.
Thank you, Dragostan. You've gotten me thinking about exoteric versus esoteric modes of discussion, and somehow that's going to be fuel for a future video. As to whether light rises up or comes down, might I suggest looking at the differences between a branched hierarchy and a nested hierarchy? See whether that sheds some light on the nature of light. Another thing worth looking at is the distinction between the two truths: (1) the relative truth--which is a grid of pinned-down (dead) butterflies and (2) the absolute truth--which is experiential and very much alive, transcending that grid. When students speak of the absolute as though it must play by the rules of the relative, the adept discerns that they are still subjecting themselves to (dead) concepts.
Would love to know your thoughts on this matter. Nick Farrel in his book Helios Unbound talks about IAO... that the O was Omega not Omicron. The I in IAO stands for Christ, the A is Alpha and the Omega is Omega. So it's Christ, beginning and end. So it wouldn't be pronounced EE AH OH its pronounced EE AH (a as in Father) AW ( aw as in law). Personally idk how to pronounce the A and O differently given those two descriptions of the vibration in the book (a as in Father and aw as in law are very close in vibration). IAO was used in the LVX ritual as a word of power from the Bible. It was a replacement for the Tetragrammaton in the Greek Translation which is where the above Greek vowels come from. Would love to know your thoughts on the matter .
Nick Farrell is from New Zealand. In NZ, Australia and UK, the a in father sings quite different from the aw sounds. When Americans say "father" it sounds like "fother" - they don't have that "ah" sound in their accent naturally, so they say it like an o, the closest sound they have. Listen to some English etc videos and try and get the A to sound like theirs - then it will be different from the aw/o
Thank you. This is an excellent example of how a scholar might dismiss imagination--and therefore magic--as unreal or unimportant. Let's talk about an analogous symbol--the Sign of Silence. Scholars say that that depictions of the god Horus as a child, with his finger to his lips, was NOT an emblem of silence. They say it was simply an indication of the child's tendency to suck his finger. Just a symbol for Horus as a child. And therefore they claim that the interpretations of this finger that arose later, after the founding of Alexandria, are wrong. According to this "purist" form of interpretation, Horus with his finger to his lips does not represent the virtue of silence. That meaning was imposed by the Greeks who supposedly did not understand what they were looking at. Notice how the intellectual/"purist" approach to magic has a tendency to ignore how the magic actually works. The psyche does not care about the "correct" interpretation of a symbol. It simply borrows and bodies forth symbols spontaneously--symbols that are not representations of literal truth...but symbols that just happen to have become vehicles that carry forth its invisible virtues into the realm of manifestation.
@@lyamchristopher2393 that makes a lot of sense. Very grateful for your response. Nick Farrell is a practicing Ceremonial Magician, to my understanding. Part of GD lodges and BOTA. I know being part of a lodge doesn't necessarily equate to full initiation. My mind when approaching certain topics in magic yearns for a purist approach. Part of it's software atm. The Helios Unbound Book is supposed to be an initiation for Magicians to have K&C but using Egyptian and more Greek focused than rites compared to a lot of the Abrahamic versions that are commonly presented. I do see what you mean though as far as the imagination and trust. In my approach to magic it's hard for me to "trust" something unless it is "purist" as you put it. Definitely a hurdle I've had to deal with many times in my magical journey. IE: trying to find the "right" system.
The scholar's habit of trying to "get it right in front of my peers" is a good thing. It's an old friend, and it can serve us well. Habits like these simply need to be "revisioned" and repurposed for deeper pursuits. We can not only "get it right" in terms history and literal truth but also in terms of how the deep psyche works. It's all good.@@calebhickermell4492
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible Hebrews 11:13
That's a profound statement. Can you explain, through a vivid example, how it might be so? Or by "faith" do you simply mean "belief"? And if faith is not the same thing as belief, what is faith?
I would refer you to the 11th chapter of hebrews. It outlines numerous vivid examples better than I could from my own personal life. Here's a bit:"By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. 5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. 7 By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. 8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. 11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore."
@@lyamchristopher2393i came to the conclusion that faith and consciousness are the same thing alongside belief ,once you have faith in god you acquire the consciousness of divinity and become like Daniel looking up at god while the lions don’t dare to touch him (from the book of Daniel)
Can you add the regular hexagram ritual to kabbalah magic book's daily rituals and the weekly planetary invocations? Like before the unicursal hexagram rituals?
Do you mean the incorporation of the non-unicursal hexagram instead of the unicursal hexagram? I don't recommend it. The adepts of the GD, privately, used the unicursal hexagram--for a reason. Mainly because of the Sun invocation. Observe the tendency to squirm around and try to get more comfortable with...something else.
@@lyamchristopher2393 thank you.❤ No problem with the unicursal hexagram. I just love the normal ones and wanted them engraved in my mind as well. Not replacing it but adding the normal ones to the sequence without messing things up like banishing saturn 2 times; once with the normal hexagram and the second time with the unicursal one... Is it possible? Is it OK?
Uh, I've been doing the LBRH along with the neophyte rituals every day because I assumed it was part of the first section of your book? Is this a bad thing?
No, but it is the kind of thing that would make a teacher worry about a student's habit of creatively following directions. 🤣 In Ra Horakhty Temple, I was taught the BRH in the latter half of the Neophyte grade. In the Kabbalah Magic book, it is simply easier to present it in Zelator. Mostly in the interest of..."Let's not overwhelm the neophyte!" 😄
@@lyamchristopher2393 Gotcha. I am a several months into it, and have felt great benefit from doing the hexagram ritual in addition to the LBRP. I don't feel that overwhelmed per se. I set aside an hour or so each night to do all my work in secret and very much enjoy the process of it. It feels like creating a work of art. Thank you very much for the comment and advice though! I appreciate your work.
@@lyamchristopher2393 Ah, so I went for 2 months of doing the hexagram ritual with the other neophyte rituals, and I think I can see now why you hesitate to introduce it at 0=0... I'm not sure I can describe with words, but it does indeed feel like "too much". I suppose I took it to mean you didn't want to give too much WORK to do for a newbie. At first it was exhilarating when I did it, then it began to feel like I had "too much", of something. I couldn't put it into words for you here, but it was really something. I wasn't ready for it. Yep, best left for the next grade!
Yes, but the kind of philosophy that has recovered its original definition as "the love of wisdom." Not the kind of philosophy practiced by debate-masters. How about you?
What purpose does banishing or invoking the planets (with the LRH) serve for our consciousness? (Like how the LBRP serves to help us to confront our demons by banishing/extracting them from our aura)
The elements are more akin to natural forces. The planets are more akin to human-like personality types. So banishing the planets tends to prod your relationship demons to appear. Especially relationship demons beyond your life at home.
Good question. Consider the course of the Sun to be analogous to the flow of a river. The river flows in one direction only. However, the light of consciousness can be reflected on its surface anywhere along its course. And that reflection can move effortlessly upon the water, both upstream and downstream. The waterflow never reverses, even though consciousness can explore the river at any point in its flow, even all the way back to its source in formlessness. Once you grasp what this means, you can then reverse-circumambulate without pretending to reverse the course of the heavens. In this light, when you reverse-circumambulate, you are not reversing the course of the river of manifestation. You are, instead, transcending its flow, penetrating it back to its formlessness. Reverse-circumambulation explores the onward one-directional flow of the formation and dissolution process--its a return to formlessness. And you can do this by observing the endless flower-like eruption of forms as they come and go, come and go. Reverse-circumambulation is reserved for the initiate who understands this. It is a practice reserved for later. I probably fogged that up (fucked that up) completely, but it was worth a try! 🤓

Do you believe that the two outer pillars (J&B) as show in almost all of the tree diagrams, to be backwards? As in me looking outward, my right hand white and my left hand black…..
No. They are simply heretical. In Hermetic Kabbalah, the magician is invited NOT to just to face God and adore him, but to turn around and face into the world AS though he IS God.
@@lyamchristopher2393 right. So looking out into the world as god - is the masculine column my right arm or left arm? I’m thinking it is my right arm. Am I correct? Binah on my left and Hokmah on my right?

@@lyamchristopher2393 Right. I think I need to reword my question. What I meant is, if we're using the unicursal forms for the hexagram rituals, and the BRH (Saturn Banishing) as described in the book replaces/or is the equivalent of the LBRH with the fire and water triangles, would Saturn Invoking be the equivalent for the "traditional" LIRH (that is, for general operations)?
Having only ever learned the unicursal forms, I really don't know what the significance of those strange pairings of triangles are. It would be worth exploring, I think. And also, that should be easy to puzzle out if you have the Golden Dawn "textbook." Right? @@EsPoReNg
I realize there is a trend toward making videos where the presenter is not looking directly into the camera. I don't know why. When you look directly at the viewer (into the camera), the viewer feels a connection to you. Consequently, you hold their attention better and what you say is better internalized. Think about it: how do you feel when you speak to someone who refuses to give you direct eye contact? For me, this filming style is distracting and annoying. What you are saying has value. Look the receiver in the eye and that information carries more weight. Just my opinion. But thanks for the work you do.

YHVH/ YHWH/ YAHWEH/ JEHOVAH are all names for tge DARK SATANIC FORCE CONTROLLING THIS MATRIX.
@@lyamchristopher2393 Yes, purism at it's finest XD
My sources are, well, I grew up in that community and was well taught by scholars of the language.
@@OhhhhhhhBugger I'll be talking about this issue in the next video. Thanks!

Thank you! 🌞
That sounds like a fun video, Alex. Maybe with a little bit of show and tell!

hmmmm....makes sense as to why the Philosophers stone, or the Powder of Projection, can "disappear" and reappear into existence.
Thanks man ❤
Could you get into detail about when to know you can move on from grade to grade ?
Thank you
Would love to know your thoughts on this matter.
@@mckinleaf thank you very much. Incredibly helpful
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible
Hebrews 11:13
@@lyamchristopher2393 thank you.❤
No problem with the unicursal hexagram.
I just love the normal ones and wanted them engraved in my mind as well.
Not replacing it but adding the normal ones to the sequence without messing things up like banishing saturn 2 times; once with the normal hexagram and the second time with the unicursal one...
Is it possible? Is it OK?

No, but it is the kind of thing that would make a teacher worry about a student's habit of creatively following directions. 🤣
In Ra Horakhty Temple, I was taught the BRH in the latter half of the Neophyte grade. In the Kabbalah Magic book, it is simply easier to present it in Zelator. Mostly in the interest of..."Let's not overwhelm the neophyte!" 😄

It's best to remove the word "why" from our vocabulary. "Why?' is an accusing question. Try "How?" instead.
I love the way you explain things lyam, do you have a background in philosophy?
Yes, but the kind of philosophy that has recovered its original definition as "the love of wisdom." Not the kind of philosophy practiced by debate-masters. How about you?
What purpose does banishing or invoking the planets (with the LRH) serve for our consciousness?
(Like how the LBRP serves to help us to confront our demons by banishing/extracting them from our aura)
The elements are more akin to natural forces. The planets are more akin to human-like personality types. So banishing the planets tends to prod your relationship demons to appear. Especially relationship demons beyond your life at home.
What then would the invoking form of the hexagram of Saturn do?
@@tannernolin642 What do you think it does?
@@lyamchristopher2393prod the relationship demons to disappear?
Or invoke a balanced spectrum of all personality types?
Why do we draw the banishing unicursal hexagram clockwise? Isn’t banishing counter clockwise
