The elemental hexagrams are aligned to the zodiacal signs. Aries (Fire) in the East, Cancer (Water) in the North, Libra (Air) in the West, and Capricorn (Earth) in the South. The energies of the hexagram ritual operate on a different level than the energies of the pentagram ritual.

What frater zigmund says. I mentioned this on your previous video but Damien Echols goes over the differences of the lesser pentagram and lesser hexagram in his video lesser hexagram on TH-cam. It helped clear up a lot of confusion. The pentagram is the path of the sun through the seasons. The hexagram is the path of the sun through the zodiac. Hence the change in the elements. Air is spring for lbrp yet fire is Aries for hexagram. Different levels of dissolving (alchemical dissolution) the consciousness

But the Main Fiery Sign is "Leo", the Earth "Taurus", etc... The Quimera or the 4 Cherubs, are Ideas of the 4 Elements! But you're also right, Aries, and Sagittarius are Fiery too, but there's the Cardinal, (Active) = Aries.... there's the Neutral/Fixed Fire of Leo, and the Fluid and (Passive) of Sagittarius! The 3 Principles... there's a lot of confusion and there's:
      Air of Air,
      Air of Fire
      Air of Earth
      ....
      Fire of Fire
      Fire of Water...
etc... The Tarot actually has 16 Court Cards which to each element with the Aspect of Itself or Other, Earth/Earth - Earth-Water, i.e., it would make 16... in some systems, like Cartomancy, the Court only has 12 figures in normal decks, or the Zodiac only has 12 Signs, I don't remember if it's the sign with the atributions of it's self, or of it's opposite, that is ruled out!?

I personally use the unicursal hexagram for planetary energies, Sephiroth energies, and element energies under dominion of sun and moon. Either the center point can be seen as the sun in which case it has 2 invoking and 2 banishing forms (through Mars/geburah or mercury/hod) or as the sun at the top point as dominion over the elements.

93 my friend and thanks for the video.
    A couple of comments.
I appreciate you were showing the GD version, but another option is the Unicursal Hexagram. Lon Milo DuQuette describes this in his book “The Magick of Aleister Crowley”. This is it lets you put the Sun in the centre and you get the alignment with Sephiroth 9-3 on the Tree of Life (albeit with Saturn at Daath). An important reminder of what the hexagram rituals are for.
Also, along with planetary energy, you can do the GRH for zodiacal energies. This is described in Liber O.
Looking forward to seeing the video on the heptagram ritual. Denning and Philips?

I've never heard of the ritual of the heptagram but I can understand why you'd prefer it over the ritual(s) of the hexagram because the abscence of a Sol centered hexagram, especially being someone that gets hung up on precise symbolism or the lack thereof.
Also, if anyone should see this comment that's curious "Ararita" is Hebrew for "One is His Beginning; One is His Individuality; His Permutation is One." Meaning God goes by many names but always is and always will be one deity.

This is such a great help. The fact that one needs to cross reference multiple materials shows just how cryptic they wanted this information to be.
On a side note, I noticed while looking at the LBRH illustrations in this video, that for the hexagram element water @ north, the lower triangle is formed before the upper portion. The reason I find this a bit confusing, my copy of the book "Modern Magick" shows top portion 1st, flowing to bottom 2nd. However, the Golden Dawn Tarot book by Chic and Tabatha Cicero agrees with the one here in your video. That said, I've become accustomed to the Modern Magic version as I like the results. I love both books, but this seeming slight conflict has me wondering which is best. Great and informative channel,, Thanks for all you do! Cheers!

Something else to think about with the Supreme Ritual of the Hexagram: The placements of the planets around the hexagram also correspond to the planetary correspondences of the sephiroths, which is another reason why it makes sense that the Sol/Sun is in the middle.
Imagine the hexagram: The bottom point is Yesod - Luna/Moon, the bottom-left point is Hod - Mercury, the bottom-right point is Netzach - Venus, which would naturally put Tiphareth - Sol/Sun in the center of the hexagram, with Geburah - Mars in the top-left, Chesed - Jupiter, and Da'ath - Saturn at the top. I've heard multiple sources say that when you're doing the Middle Pillar you're pulling the energy of Binah - Saturn into Da'ath for the purpose of the Middle Pillar (though in my personal system I believe this is the reason that Da'ath corresponds to Saturn and Binah corresponds to Pisces.)
Another thing that I've heard is that the elemental shapes of the Lesser Hexagram Ritual are supposed to be graphic symbolic representations of the elemental magickal weapons. Examples:
Hexagram of Fire - Wand shaped (energy pointing forwards to the tip = double upward pointed triangle)
Hexagram of Air - Dagger shaped (energy pointed sharply on both ends)
Hexagram of Water - Chalice/Cup shaped (top is a cup, bottom is the stand)
Hexagram of Earth - Pentacle (has a Hexagram instead of a Pentagram obviously)
Great video though!!! Love your content as always 💛💛💛

The "Elemental" forms of the Hexagram are a mnemonic for the particular power involved: the two upward triangles for Fire resemble flames; the Star of David for Earth resembles a shield/pantacle; the mirrored triangles of Air resemble the shape of a spear or dagger; and the inverted mirrored triangles of Water resemble a Cup.
Concerning the apparent lack of continuity in the directions, it can be seen that the Elemental Pentagrams follow the Winds model and the Elemental Hexagrams the Zodiacal model. Scott Stenwick astutely observes that in practice this forms a meshing or binding of power that locks together due to it's apparent inconsistency; it bites together.
In my own practice I notice, more simply, that the microcosmic Pentagram ritual is the "outer" ritual and the stabilising form.... then, inside of that, one invokes the macrocosm, which necessarily differs from the microcosm - and the fact that the Microcosm "contains" the Macrocosm is implicit in As Above So Below, and fundamental to any and all understanding of what we are all (foolishly😉) involved in.
Superb video though, and thought-provoking, as always FF.

In which cases the invoking and banishing lesser rituals should be chosen? For example in the liber stellae rubeae there is said that before the ritual - should be performed the "ritual of the flaming star" (LBRP) and the "ritual of the seal"(hexagram), and in the commentary Crowley mentions that the "ritual of the seal" - is the "common" ritual of hexagram. So it most likely means that it is rather lesser ritual, but invoking or banishing? Because both can make sense when used in the beginning of some bigger ritual. Or invoking should be used in the beginning and the banishing in the end of the whole ceremony?

I think different people would have different reasons and different approaches to the understanding and efficacy of these practices. (For them). If you start with the LBRP and work your way up, you start to find your own reasons for continuing (or stopping). I think it’s a helpful and reliable way to tap into the deeper parts of your mind, soul, oneness, etc…like prayer, meditation, yoga, etc. it’s a spiritual practice that one would want to do for manifestation of something, focus on a goal, relief from distractions, and/or spiritual fulfillment - That’s just my take, for now.

I quite enjoyed your video and the analysis you make of both forms of this Ritual, noticing its potential for talisman making, etc. As for the Sun version of the Ritual, I can't help but to wonder: why keep to the Deosil order of the planets in it's banishing form? Shouldn't it be having us visit the planets in a Widdershins order (i.e. starting from Saturn but thereafter going to Mars rather than to Jupiter as in the invoking Deosil-based method) and walking in a Widdershins direction? Don't bother aswering this (unless you are feeling compelled to do so) as I do not use the Rituals of the Hexagrams. This is simply me musing (and, more importantly, tickling the algorythms).

So I finished doing the battery LBRP as I chanted the name ADONAI HA ARETZ I sensed hands and I heard several knocks under my feet but from under the home??? I waited until I finished and went outside the house to check if someone have gotten under the home, but the entrance was closed. This is the first time I experience this particular happening and I am wondering if I should worry. For a moment I thought I was going to be pulled down. In certain occasions when chanting the names during the MP I experience a sensation as if I was going to detach from the body. Do the names have the ability to absorb us to the point of separation of the soul from the body? I fell like I am in two places. So I been told with the LBRP things start happening (I am not new to paranormal events prior of practicing LBRP) Do you have any comments. Should I worry? I was thinking maybe the home is built on top of a grave yard, but not sure. Could it be possible that chanting that name upset anyone below? But I have done the ritual in the same spot several times, the usual space, and this is the first time I experience this????????? Should I worry, I guess worry will not solve a thing. I like to understand if is a positive thing or there is something else I need to do or to stop it. Comments please, help

Oh, and one more thing too that I thought about: Consider the fact that the energy of the Sun/Sol does quite literally "contain" every single other planetary energy in this solar system, because every planetary body in our solar system is gravitationally connected to the Sun/Sol. In my own personal practice, I will typically use the Hexagram of the Sun/Sol (drawing all 6 Hexagrams) and the Godname of the Sephiroths to invoke the energies of the planets in a purer form, including the outer planets (which traditional astrology and therefore traditional western occultism never really accounted for). :D

    • @therocker0325
      @therocker0325 2 ปีที่แล้ว

One might even look at the Hexagram as a literal depiction of the solar system, with the Sun/Sol in the center and all the other planets orbiting around it (though not sharing an orbit as a Hexagram describes 😉)

The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram actually IS dealing with planetary energies and not elemental energies. Primarily anyway. The elemental association is in the celestial form (element associated with each Zodiac sign) of the element. That is why the order is different in the LBRH. In the LBRP, East is associated with air. But in the Hexagram ritual, East is associated with fire because Aries (1st sign of the Zodiac) is a fire sign.

The link you provided from @Wiccan TV led me to watching his tutorial on the Middle Pillar Ritual, which lasts just over 5 minutes, whereas Israel Regardie pretty much insists on half an hour being spent on the ritual. I am unable to locate this part of the ritual in either the Liber O version or the Golden Dawn version, at least in the materials available to me. Is this your own addition or is there a textual basis for this that I've missed? Either way it makes a lot of sense, I'm just curious as to your reasoning for including it.

The bare minimum according to Israel Regardie is 6 weeks on daily Lesser Banishing Rituals of the Pentagram before anything else. I then recommend switching to invoking Pentagram and alternating until you can tell how they affect your life differently, and in what ways. Then you're really free to go in any direction you like, and yes, planetary is a great idea.

Actually I hate to disagree with you on the philosophy of the sun being in the center.
    But
The curvature and rotation of the 9 planets are forced by the electromagnetic motion of the star we call the sun.
So the thought of the sun being the center is a basis of energy that constantly flows through our universe’s magnetic field.

Hey, I can't help but notice that a lot of people think that the GD was and is a group of total assholes. A lot of their exercises are also being kinda ridiculed.
I'm not into Solomonic / Grimoire magic because I don't feel nearly ready for something like that.
The reason I thought GD self initiation was cool is because there is a curriculum through which you become a better version of yourself ( in the least) but these doubts are keeping me in neophyte still.
    Anyone?

    • @FoolishFishBooks
      @FoolishFishBooks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Goodness no! I'm pretty sure the anglophone occult scene wouldn't be anything worth mentioning today if it weren't for the HD's trailblazing. But just as with any science, progress causes areas of obsolescence.
I also feel it's unfortunate that we should have lost the direct lineage and that there's no way of verifying the presence or absence of blinds in the published documents.
I have tremendous admiration for the GD then and now. I just think that given the option of using material from uninterrupted lineages like Aurum Solis (or any given other - Clan of Tubal Cain, even OTO if the infighting and internal politics weren't so ego-centric) may be a less haphazard option nowadays.

It says the you should complete the circle with the hexagrams AS WITH the pentagram ritual… “as in” meaning “in the same way as”… which means you are supposed to draw the hexagrams in all four corners and connected them with a circle. I have never seen any debate about this. I do agree with the idea that you should begin with LBRP, but also, you should put the hexagrams in all four quarters. Also, the elements are in different directions with the hexagrams ritual, as opposed to the pentagram ritual, because you’re dealing with the cardinal zodiacal energies, as you are positioning yourself as the sun in the center of the circle, and the sun moves backwards through the zodiac during the precession of the equinoxes. With all due respect, this is bad information. I enjoy much of your content but have a few gripes and this is definitely one of them.
