Thanks for watching! Yes, it was by strange coincidence that we drove past this restaurant one day on the way to AAA. I'm glad we had to make that trip or we never would have noticed.
me and my husband love all your videos. Great job with the honest reviews and introducing us to the restaurants. Some of them we've been to and some will definitely try after watching your videos. We really enjoy them! Keep it up with the good work!!
I appreciate your viewing of the videos. I welcome any suggestions that you might have for places to visit. Sometimes I feel like I am overwhelmed by choice but I’m still curious what my viewers like. Thanks again for your kind comments!
Incredible video. Better than TV. Arthur is a legend. I haven’t been to Nassau County or Long Island in such a long time so that also made it very fascinating.
😮 WOW...great spread of dim sum...only a few I wouldn't eat 😋 or order ...glad you enjoyed your meal...like you mentioned earlier, it might cost .50 cents more, but well worth it 👍....have a great weekend ❤😊
We tried it and haven’t been back since, we just go a couple exits more west to Little Neck and have Dim Sum at Jade Asian. But Orient Garden is good if you don’t wanna head that far into Flushing for Dim Sum. It will still satisfy the crave
I only knew of 2 other dim sum restaurants growing up on Long Island. ‘Orient’ & ‘Fortune Wheel’, both in Levittown. Happy to see more opening up. The difference between Flushing/Chinatown & Long Island dim sum is that Flushing/Chinatown have more dim sum options and LI dim sum is more expensive b/c it’s on LI. If you’re comparing the taste, nothing beats Flushing/Chinatown dim sum, it’s the standard. The LI dim sum restaurants are an extension of Flushing/Chinatown dim sum. So, if you’re coming from Flushing/Chinatown to try the LI dim sum, you will probably say it’s ok or be disappointed.
Seems like tons of Chinese people are moving to LI. There are like 4 Chinese supermarkets popping up at Nassau county so I guess people are moving out of Queens and moving further out. Which drives all the prices up. But Nassau County is nice in certain areas to get away from the busy traffic congested noisy Queens. I lived in many areas in Queens and move back to Brooklyn which I don’t suggest moving to because I say it is worth now than ever before. Now I moved to NJ and there are very few good dim sum places there and the prices are insane. Many of the workers live in Brooklyn and commute to NJ to work in Chinese restaurants and supermarkets. Nice review if I am in the area I must try this place. Of course bigger portion for a good price is definitely good.
The same thing in the north Atlanta suburb of Duluth GA. There are 2 Chinese supermarkets. The city of Atlanta is bland like most cities in the south and Midwest but some of the suburbs have a closer resemblance to NYC variety than the actual city
Thanks for the review. I'm going to suggest this restaurant to my pickleball friends. This seems like a nice place to go after playing pickleball on Long Island.
In this video he talks about Dim Sum, in New Hyde Park in Nassau County, in Long Island, next to Suffolk county, but I live in the BRONX, and when I want to eat Dim Sum,I can go to Chinatown in lower MANHATTAN on Canal Street and they usually offer these items on a cart, but they also offer hot, steamed items as well and basically they are appetizers, hot or cold and they also offer Chinese style an assortment of different desserts, usually about 4.00/per dish, with water, soda, and of course Cha,which means Hot Tea,usually black tea,and I like my Thai style hot sauce or chili oil, then I will look at the menu for additional items but it depends on the time of the day, when I will make my decision, but generally Chinese food is very popular and excellent eats, just like eating Spanish style TAPAS,which are Spanish snacks, nice assortment of very different items also an appetizers hot,and warm or you can buy them on the street, go to the park and eat, as I am Chinese/Hawaiian 4th generation, but usually the Chinese people from China makes it American style, which is not to different from traditional style and usually I buy more, take it home, heat it up and eat at the comfort of my home, can't get better than that, or I will make my own Chinese food at home, with Chinese ingredients, save time and money as the trend nowadays is go to the supermarket or on the street make it at home with or without friends is your option, Enjoy Folks. Happy Eating SaSa,Hau!!
Thanks for watching! I'm was born in New York City. My Cantonese is actually first grade level but always loved listening to those who spoke it well around me. My primary Chinese language is Toisanese, but we're all Southern brothers as far as I am concerned. :-)
Auther I am the same as you I grew HK in Chinatown and been to Chinese school in Mott street only had like 3rd grade of Cantonese there. I don’t know if you know back then the teachers are allow to abuse students if they don’t do well. So I aced the tests both verbally and written. Now I regret I didn’t continue to presue more Cantonese. It is the best language and if could read more I would be happy.
Hi~ where do you recommend to get snails with black bean sauce. Cantonese style~ they mostly sell snails sautéed with salt .. in flushing ny. I can't find some good snails with black bean sauce. 😢
To be honest, I don't know any offhand, but I'm sure if you go to any Cantonese restaurant with large tanks, they'll probably have it. I will look for this in future reviews!
To answer your question I had snails at Hop Kee (not Hop Lee) last month during my visit to NYC. On their menu it’s called Snails Cantonese style. It had a light thin coating of sauce and it was good and tasted fresh. They indicate that it’s spicy but it wasn’t spicy in my opinion but still very good.
101 Herricks Rd, New Hyde Park, NY 11040 Interesting! Yes that is in New Hyde Park! Should be good. I ate at the one in Jericho. Thanks for sharing brother!
Interesting I just had ham Sui gok for the first time yesterday, I’m super impressed by it. It would make a great bar food item if more people learned about it
Thanks for sharing your experience and adventure. Living Long Island never noticed this wonderful dim sum restaurant 😮 must try in this month.
Thanks for watching! Yes, it was by strange coincidence that we drove past this restaurant one day on the way to AAA. I'm glad we had to make that trip or we never would have noticed.
Can't think of one in Suffolk. I usually go to Flushing

@@ometofu No but I wouldn’t mind if he was my dad
Just watching the video makes me feel like I should go there and try the food myself. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching! I was so happy to find such a solid place to share with everyone here!

I really enjoy your show since I am also a Dim Sum lover in Los Angeles areas. If I go to New York, I will look for your recommendations.
Thanks! @rainbowcat83
Thanks for the review. I'm going to suggest this restaurant to my pickleball friends. This seems like a nice place to go after playing pickleball on Long Island.
Great idea!!!
You’re welcome! It’s not the largest space but it’s in a convenient location. Hope you and friends enjoy!
NHP is closer for me! I will also schedule a review as well! Great job. And how much room did that tripod take up on the table. Great sight lining
Thank you! i use a mini selfie stick so not much room at all!
Great review. I noticed you are going over the menu slower, it's greatly appreciated.
The food looked fantastic, minus the chicken feet for me 😅
Enjoying chicken feet is like learning to love life's inperfections. It will come some day! :)

Try Ping’s at 22 Mott street in Manhattan’s Chinatown. They have it and Ping’s is an excellent restaurant.

Can you do some spicy food restaurants on Ling Island?
So far I only have one two on my playlist, Spicy Home Tasty and Chef Wang. Check those out :)
On the card where they stamp the dim sum says 511 North Broadway. That is in Jericho not New Hyde Park.
I think they’re using the owner’s other restaurant, Orient Odyssey’s dim sum cards.

Interesting! Yes that is in New Hyde Park! Should be good. I ate at the one in Jericho. Thanks for sharing brother!
No problem. Agree with you that Jericho is good 👍
Dim sum prices have gotten out of control. Too expensive for my taste.
Yes cheap $3 dim sum is long gone.
Do they do Uber Eats pick up? My favorite is Ham Sui Gok😂
Not sure myself! That is one of my favorite dim sums!
Interesting I just had ham Sui gok for the first time yesterday, I’m super impressed by it. It would make a great bar food item if more people learned about it
