    First, I’m watching your video and it is my favourite food items. DIMSUM. I especially love shrimp HARGOW and shrimp or barbecued pork HOFUN.
    I live in Toronto Ontario Canada, and probably will never get to this restaurant in Summerland. I really enjoyed your video and how you explained all the DIMSUM items. I subscribed and I’m looking forward to new videos, thank you.

    Dim Sum is something I have on my bucket list as I have not had access to it where I live… Everything looked delicious… I like that you can do both, order from the cart and menu which gives you both experiences as well allows for the freshest food….Again another professionally made and narrated video!!!!!

    As a local (Henderson), I'm a bit jaded by some of the restaurant videos I see from creators who can be a bit superficial or self-absorbed, also sometimes defensive about critical comments. Your videos are among the very best. I like the fact that you focus closely on the dishes you are describing, giving important details while not dwelling on each one to a degree that would be boring. Also, your commentaries are well constructed and highly literate, another attribute not always found in others' videos. Regarding this one, I probably won't make the trip over to Summerlin, but I certainly appreciated the objectivity with which you approached each dish. When I go for dim sum, I'm always hoping chicken feet are available, along with something like crispy salt-and-pepper prawns. Having lived for two years in Taiwan, where I developed my interest in Chinese cooking, I can certainly attest to the accuracy of your descriptions. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks for the comments! Interesting topics...one of the reasons we got into this was our unhappiness with a lot of the 'cheerleading only' type of reviews we were seeing. So, we wanted to make it about honest appraisals of ALL the food we tried. With regard to your search for 'crispy salt-and-pepper prawns', the last dish in this video was exactly that and they were fantastic. So, if you happen to be over in the Summerlin area you will want to check them out!

      You so eloquently explain what I would’ve said to explain this video.
      I haven’t had dim sum since before the pandemic.
      I really miss him some and wish I could go to this restaurant and the biggest area, but unfortunately I live in Canada so that will not be possible. we do however have great dim sum restaurants here in Toronto Ontario Canada and there is a large enclave of Chinese immigrants that live in Markham Ontario and lots of dim sum restaurants are located there.
      My favourite gym is HARGOW, shrimp, of course

      @@jholly5747 I appreciate your comment. My wife is a Toronto native (North York) and I've enjoyed the Chinese food up there many times over the years. I used to bring back jars of VH Honey Garlic Sauce to use in my cooking and I'm grateful I can now get them delivered through Amazon.

      @@riohbuff hello
      Isn’t it just a small world after all. Who knew when I responded to your post about the Chinese restaurants in Vegas that I would come across a gentleman that is married to a Torontonian. I am from North York, well parts of it was called Don Mills when I was growing up in the 70s. Line is VH honey garlic sauce only available in Canada?
      Say hi to your wife from our fellow for Torontonian.
      Cheers.

    You really deserve your own TV network show. I cannot get over how professional everything is. Your voice, the commentary, the soft complimenting music in the background, the camera shoot. It's not on "auto focus" or panned fast and waving everywhere like you just got off of a sickie ride at the fair and need a bag to vomit in, which are dead giveaways of wanna be amateurs. I am just honestly blown away. First video viewed on your channel and I have to say, you are one of, if not THE BEST food reviewers out there. Some wanna TH-camrs rock their heads back and forth to show approval of what they've eaten, moan or roll their eyes to the back of their heads to show contentment are such turn offs for me. I mean, you really deserve like 100M subs! One last point. I appreciate that you reminded viewers at the END of your video to like and subscribe, which is an appropriate time for the reminder. I just finished viewing a video about Vegas content and the TH-camr right off the bat asked viewers to like and subscribe (FOUR times) during the video. Two times at the beginning to the video, once in the middle and of course at the end. It felt excessive and was such a turn off. As if he was peddling subs. I mean I just clicked on the video not even having a chance to watch your content yet. Needless to say, I love your format. Keep on keeping on!

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for the kind words. We have also noticed some of the antics you describe in some of the other reviewers. This was one of the reasons we got into this as we felt there was so much more to say about the food. So, we ventured off to give an honest appraisal from a chef and former restaurant owners. Interesting comment you make about asking for likes/subs...this review, due to the shout out section early on, was more up front about asking for likes/subs than our usual and we were worried it might be over the top and turn people off. Glad to hear it wasn't the case. Thanks for watching, subscribing, and commenting. We greatly appreciate it! 😁

    I live in the SF Bay Area. My family used to love going to Dim Sum restaurants like Ocean City and Asia Garden for lunch. Unfortunately, these nice restaurants closed years ago and watching your videos brings me back to the "good old days". I guess I'll have to go to Vegas one day and try some of your yummy Dim Sum restaurants.

    Somehow your channel stumbled into my feed. First time ever on your channel. Your voice is very pleasant, even calming. Great narration, almost story telling like. I love that your intro is not gimicky. I cannot stand obnoxious loud music, silly dance moves, etc. Dim Sum is one of my most favorite foods. So far, I like your channel and have liked and subscribed. 6:05, the baked buns are called "pineapple buns". There's no pineapple in it. It just resembles pineapple from the crust, or so they say. Pro tip: please ensure that you thoroughly clean your nails before recording. Throughout every piece of dim sum that you broke open, you can see dirt underneath your thumb.

    • @LetsEatVegas

      Wow, thank you! Glad you stumbled onto our channel. Yes on the pineapple buns. We've reviewed many Dim Sum places now (one of our favorite foods as well) and mentioned that before but didn't do so this time. As for the pro tip...working on it!

    Everything looks good and I hope that new ownership means all that's offered has improved, because a few years back we had the worst dim sum ever at the Dim Sum Cafe. We were shocked at how crappy their food and service was, considering you're dining in Summerlin and all that. But it does look it has changed for the better.

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This seems to be a common theme to the comments, lol. Sorry to hear you had a bad time but it would appear the new owners are serious about running their restaurant. It was VERY clean, the service was excellent, it was overall a very inviting atmosphere, AND, the food was very good.

    Hmmm, I’m a local and tried this place years ago and it was so so. IF the dim sum is now made fresh on premises then it should be better than factory made and frozen dim sum.

    Wow ! Everything looked amazingly delightful. Its on the list come August. Absolutely love good dim sum . And the chow fun ( my fav ) looked like what I have been looking for in LA ! East coast transplant and went to NY Chinatown like all the time. Chinese food is okay I guess in Cali but not quite the same as NJ and NY . Thanks for this one .. Happy eating...❤

      Wish it were that easy, housing is very expensive, same with rentals. Las Vegas might have some good Asian restaurants, but it's one of the hubs in the affordable housing crisis.

  • @emailuser8668
    @emailuser8668 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Great review and variety shown. Dim Sum restaurants have a reputation for being expensive, do they offer something like get 10 dim sum items for $20 deals or something similar?
    Separately so many restaurants in the Las Vegas area are bullying tips on customers like adding 20% without asking permission. Has really been a joykill at some Chinatown Plaza restaurants. Also 3% junk fees for paying w/ credit or debit card. Have you had a similar experience?

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hmm, have seen some of what you describe. A few places had credit card fees and one place had a 'disinfectant' fee. So, I'm paying extra for you to clean your restaurant?? The thing I have noticed lately is an increase in the % options for tipping. We went to a place last week where the suggested tip amount STARTED at 18% and went up to 30%!! Oh, also, check out the calculated tip amounts...more and more I'm seeing them computed from the 'after tax' total. You aren't supposed to do that. The tip is supposed to be only on the cost of the food, not the tax as well. I've started using my phone to calculate the real tip amount and leaving only that. Anyway, thanks for the comment!

    • @LetsEatVegas
      @LetsEatVegas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh, sorry I forgot to address your first issue about 'deals' at Dim Sum. No, I haven't seen anything like that at all with one exception. It closed during COVID, and I can't remember the name now, but it was in Chinatown across from the Shanghai Plaza in with the 99 Ranch grocery store. It had All You Can Eat Dim Sum. We used to go there all the time and the Dim Sum was very good. The only negative was that the owner would glare at you if you had too much food, lol. If you find any deals please send us a comment...we'd love to know about it!
