Ostapenko faked injury to get a lengthy medical timeout because she was losing and went over her time limit and the umpire did nothing about it. Ostapenko was completely in the wrong and got what she deserved from Tomljanovic. The crowd was completely on Tomljanovic's side because they knew Ostapenko was faking it. Then she tried to gaslight Tomljanovic by accusing her of bad sportsmanship!! Disgraceful behaviour.

"...Ostapenko faked injury to get a lengthy medical timeout because she was losing..."
      How can you be certain?

@@Timothy_Pitt because Ostapenko if she was injured should have told the umpire to call the trainer for the next change over, but she didn't she just went and sat down and then called for a trainer, which cause a long delay to try and put the opponent of her game because she was down 0-4 last set. I watched the match Ostopenko showed no sign of injury, and she has the reputation as being the worst sport on the tour.

Do you have to wait for next changeover?
If those are the rules, it was error of umpire to permit it
Was it trainer or medic who treated her? If medic found no reason for injury, he/she could have said
There is stiff penalty for feigning injury. Ask Carla Navarro at US Open
Your own assessment about her injury & fitness may be correct, but it also may not be

@@Timothy_Pitt If a player obviously sprains a ankle or something serious, and is struggling to continue then it OK to call the trainer without waiting for the change over. But when a player is showing no signs of any injuries or pain and has used similar tactics in the past it has to be called out, and her opponent I believe had every right to do so.

Who and where is Tomljanovic now. Don't see anyone calling out Raducanu who has medical time outs in every match, something Ostapenko doesn't, very rare for her to call a medical time out. Also unlike most WTA players, plays doubles as well as singles. I like her.

Absolutely correct Ryan Haymer! Couldn't agree more. The commentators even agreed that Ostapencho was using the medical time out for the wrong reasons IMO that means faking it. She should be fined and suspended for a lengthly period to send a message to the tennis community that this kind of unsportsmanlike behaviour should not and will not be tolerated.
