Why do they even argue with her? A warning is a warning. If she wants to start an argument just send her back to her baseline or DQ her. I hate it how she always casts doubts on the chair umpire's decisions and get's away with it.

Tennis officials are weak. But I think they are just following directives. They are probably told to allow players to use them as punching bags. Just look at all the verbal abuse they allow.

The fact that the first thing whiner extraordinaire said when she came over to the judge was " I said it to myself...I can say whatever I want". THEN she started her defense that the linesperson couldn't know what she said. That's clear evidence it was inappropriate. Good warning but poor control by the spineless judge for arguing the same excuse of Jelena's for so long. You have another player out there and fans that want to get to the match, tell the crybaby she has been warned and to return to the baseline or risk a disqualification...period. Take control WTA or else you're gonna see a rash of baseless long arguing as a tactic to slow momentum or cool a hot player who's in the zone. Ostapenko is ridiculously known for these theatrics and there is no room for that amateur crap in the sport.

@@gregorywicks5989 What a stupid argument. Jelena Ostapenko also noted the fact the umpires ignored what Ahn was saying in English. She first said, so she can say whatever she wants in English? And the word which she said if to translate from Latvian to English it isn't a swear word at all, but if to translate it from Russian to English, then it is sweat word. And Ostapenko was speaking to herself, she wasn't insulting anyone and was speaking in Latvian. Jelena Ostapenko was correct. So you can put your bullshit in your ass. Man, I'm absolutely fed up with these insipid performances that we turn out every now & again...honestly, I've never seen Saka look so lethargic & soft, while Martinelli played like a moron & Lacazette made a right mess of our best opportunity of the match...& Smith Rowe was the very last player that I would have subbed & once Arteta dragged him, I knew that we were completely screwed...& meanwhile, we're paying Auba hundreds of thousands of pounds every week for him to sit on his arse & do fucking nothing, dammit...when will we EVER learn to stop signing contracts with players that primarily consist of massive weekly wages that no other club wants to take on once things go awry & we want to ship them off, just as we did with freaking Özil...& to rub salt into the wound, we end up playing about half their wages for them to play for ANOTHER CLUB!! As a lifelong 'adi-addict', I can't even begin to fathom how & why adidas are presently sponsoring such unpopular women's players as Ostapenko & Danielle Collins...& the jury is still out on Pegula, from what I've seen, although I don't really follow women's tennis...& onto the men, although I'm a big fan of Zverev & I also like Tsitsipas quite a lot, they're certainly very divisive guys (as was Andy Murray as well, who I was never able to take to, despite how biased I can often be toward an adidas-sponsored player or team) & they will never be even half as universally liked as the likes of Federer & Nadal...OK then, that's now more than enough from me!
