Yea. You have been getting quite a lot of press vehicles lately. But we appreciate everything we've learned from you and the brz. It's a perfect sports car completely stock and its reliable. Thanks Subaru BRZ. We will miss you.
Just want to say, I've been following your channel for about a year now. Ever since I got my first good paying job last fall, I began gearing up to get my own BRZ and watching your POV drive videos of yours (and the 2018 tS too) was some excellent motivation and eye/ear candy for me. It also feels good watching someone who understands why these cars are so good. Now I've had my 2020 BRZ Limited-PP for 2 months and I know what it's like (exactly as good as I was expecting, fantastic car). Almost never thought I'd see you selling your BRZ but I know how you feel. But with your POV videos being so awesome, I'm super excited to see what you replace it with, since that'll make for some lovely POV drive content. Keep turning and burning!
You will surely miss it, I left and came back. I agree with your comments about these cars, people who haven’t driven them long term don’t really understand just how great they are!
Thank you so much for sharing your time with the BRZ over the years! You convinced me to get one, convinced me to convert to 2017 suspension, and taught me so much about driving manual. Really sad you’re selling it but good luck with whatever comes next! Will stay tuned!
I also hate having too many cars. I'd rather maintain and use a few cars thoroughly than have cars sit there and collect dust. Ironically, that is exactly what the BRZ was designed for! Lighweight RWD sports car that is fun at the track, comfortable for DD and long road trips, and can carry 4 if necessary. It's meant to replace two cars in your garage (daily driver and weekend sports car) with one. But I also know that feeling of wanting to try something new/different. Personally for me, having driven a few S2000 AP2's and ridden in some AP1's at the track, I feel they are too similar to the BRZ (especially if you have access to e85) to make that trade. Plus the prices are insane. I'd definitely consider an ND2 Miata. Haven't driven one, but being 400 lbs lighter than then BRZ and with the 90" wheelbase and open top, it's tempting. I'd also consider a Viper (2nd gen for me) or C6-Z since they'd be fun in a different way than the BRZ. Interested in seeing what you end up getting!
The S2000 would be the next logical step if you want to continue the same driving experience as the BRZ but with the figurative volume turned up a few level. As the owner of both, the BRZ serves as a "training wheel" to the S2000. I learn the fundamentals of RWD driving and handling through the safety net of the BRZ to prepare myself to feel comfortable pushing my S2000 further. Without any driving aid, the S2000's character needs to be respected and handled with finesse at the limit of both the car and the driver... but it looks like you are well at really good level to enjoy the S to the fullest :). Good luck with sale and look forward to watching you downshift and heeltoe in your next car!
I got my FRS for the same reason - to learn RWD. I've had it just over a year now and I'm really starting to come into my own with this car. It's always been fun, but now I feel like the bond is starting to form. I'm getting the Berk high flow catted front pipe and their axle back at my door soon. Wanted something that sounds totally stock while highway cruising but kicks things up a notch when things get spirited. After that is the OFT, but I'm taking my time to get the most out of each smile. .
Agreed, I've had a 987.1 Boxster for 3.5 years now and its an absolute joy to drive. I think it has about 158k miles on it right now and its been more reliable than I originally thought. The only things I've had to do to it besides routine maintenance are replace the transmission mounts, top, and head unit. The gears are pretty spaced out in the base model but I don't think this is as much of an issue with the 6-speed in the S model. All this being said, I would definitely look into the Alfa 4c and F-Type V8S right now. Those F-Type V8S are going for low 30s with
