Ended up getting a Crye Precision Jumpable Plate Carrier. Bit of a shame, since I liked the AC 1 setup. Time to add T. Rex Arms to the bin of awesome firearm vendors who have great stuff, but just had their supply chain implode. I’ve been keeping tabs on the products I want from these troubled vendors, and they’ve been out of stock for over a year. T. Rex Arms is looking like they’re going down the same road on some of their products. I appreciate these videos a lot and watch all their stuff, love their rifle sling and deals on hescos. However, it’s kinda a bad sign when a company is helping you find products that isn’t theres. Means it’s going to be a while before they get more of their plate carriers, chest rigs, etc. in stock. Used AC UNO’s in an undesirable size with a shingle are selling more on ebay than the retail price new. I bought a set of hesco L210s partially for the novelty and larp factor, but mainly for protection. I’m receiving emails from my utility company to reduce power usage to avoid rolling blackouts, and I don’t even live in California or Texas. Water is becoming scarce where I’m at to the point people from out of state are trading water rights here like it’s the stock market. I recently went on a tour through the Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River, and they’re talking about shutting down the power generators because there’s not enough water in Lake Powell. I’m seeing reports that if my state can’t import electricity this summer, we could be facing 300 hours of rolling blackouts. Sorry, but we can’t wait for you to build a supply chain again.
I will agree the haley micro makes a poor chestrig, but it does serve well as a placard on a plate carrier for a class/hd setup. The front is the best admin pouch I’ve used, and the pistol pouches are great for lights/tools/tqs. Just need to have meds on the cummerbund/in a dangler if you want to carry it on the pc.
Get a "concealed carry" safariland then upgrade it with a ubl and leg strap. Thats what I did. Granted I already had the ubl and strap. But its only about 50 bucks and you can upgrade as needed. You don't need the 100+ safariland fully kited holster.
I have top of the line Spiritus with tubes etc, but to me my cheap Spartan arms 3a I’ll probably be using 99% of the time with plates in front of the 3a. Way more area of coverage + 3+ plates best of both worlds. Spiritus for long hikes maybe,
Tactical peanut butter will now be part of my loadout. But I found the Haley Flatpack as a backpack over the D3 micro chest rig is a good setup, both lightweight and I can access my pack by just pulling it off. Straps are thin and don't interfere with shouldering a rifle.
Here in Salt Lake City I don’t think anyone would call out that grey bag….. I think mainly because of people wearing camelbacks and other odd bags around here….. at least from what I have noticed
ACHs are literally still Issued to everyone but the coolest of cool guys in the Army. If you'd pulled out a PASGT then we'd be talking old helmets.... But then the Marines still issue an upgraded PASGT variant though.
It was prob the Navy that regulated AO1. They don't want other military branches or countries using their camo. That's why USMC came out with MARPAT and hid their logo in the print. The Navy copied the idea so I'm sure they were pretty protective of it at first.
Back panels and back mounted stuff in general is stupid unless it's a hydration pouch or you're on a team and you have flashbangs for your buddy to grab. As a civilian you should focus on a good backpack that you can take off without removing your armor or other load bearing kit.

Talks about not needing the latest & greatest, proceeds to show a collectible chest rig that is three times the cost of the latest & greatest.
We got issued some condor gear in the USMC
Get a "concealed carry" safariland then upgrade it with a ubl and leg strap. Thats what I did. Granted I already had the ubl and strap. But its only about 50 bucks and you can upgrade as needed. You don't need the 100+ safariland fully kited holster.
Why no 7000 series Safariland?
I have top of the line Spiritus with tubes etc, but to me my cheap Spartan arms 3a I’ll probably be using 99% of the time with plates in front of the 3a. Way more area of coverage + 3+ plates best of both worlds. Spiritus for long hikes maybe,
PASGT armor with m81 camo Alice gear and jungle boots for the win

That reminded me of "Blazing Saddles":
"You said 'ammo' twice."
[shrugs] "I *like* ammo!"
Tactical peanut butter will now be part of my loadout. But I found the Haley Flatpack as a backpack over the D3 micro chest rig is a good setup, both lightweight and I can access my pack by just pulling it off. Straps are thin and don't interfere with shouldering a rifle.
He might be diabetic and felt his blood sugar dropping low.
@T.REX ARMS can I ask where u get those long sleeve button up shirts at
i run the old ranger assaulte carry system or RACK i dig it. super simple super easy to set it to what i like
Chicom rigs are some of my favorite.
If you’re really hurting for money.. buy a ucp pattern tactical assault panel. $25 all day on eBay. An extra $15 and you can find an ocp camo one
Here in Salt Lake City I don’t think anyone would call out that grey bag….. I think mainly because of people wearing camelbacks and other odd bags around here….. at least from what I have noticed
Now I miss my woodland SDS RACK rig hahaha!
Specialty Defense and Eagle are the greatest of all time
How are we supposed to buy any of this gear if you keep sniping it? 🤔
Appreciate the opening
Well the DOD paid for the development of those products so it's contractual thing and a also a money thing they make more money on DOD contracts
Used MSA ACHs are pretty common for less that $160
Wish I had the forethought and this video a year ago. Spent $2000 on gear. Kicking my self every 5min viewing.
ACHs are literally still Issued to everyone but the coolest of cool guys in the Army.
If you'd pulled out a PASGT then we'd be talking old helmets....
But then the Marines still issue an upgraded PASGT variant though.
Everyone should have plates and carrier but chest rigs are more viable especially for people in rural areas
How about HSGI? The wait is soooooo long!
Thoughts on Helikon Tex and old packs like Alice or Molle II
Makes me wanna retrofit all my old paintball kits
Ear pro and comms setup would be an awesome future video topic
South African Defense Force chest rigs hold my AK-74 mags double stacked or AR-10 mags singles.
I actually snagged my safariland 7k series for like 40 bucks but it wasn't a light bearing model.
Scored an od green tactical tailor FLC for $3 at a thrift shop
It was prob the Navy that regulated AO1. They don't want other military branches or countries using their camo. That's why USMC came out with MARPAT and hid their logo in the print. The Navy copied the idea so I'm sure they were pretty protective of it at first.
And there's a long wait for the newer gear too.
Back panels and back mounted stuff in general is stupid unless it's a hydration pouch or you're on a team and you have flashbangs for your buddy to grab. As a civilian you should focus on a good backpack that you can take off without removing your armor or other load bearing kit.
Exactly this. The only thing I could potentially even remotely consider being justifiable on your back is one of those elongated 6x12 inch pouches made for carrying surplus junk, like gloves, snacks, etc. Sort of like an ass end phanny pack.
IR strobe for helmets... where to find? please?
Wondering what u think of the blackhawk epoch and T series holsters
