(Mechanical summons may only drop 1 at a time, not all 3.) I also may have forgot about Lucky Coin extra-coin chances. Oops! Once you know all the easy ways to stack luck, Rod of Discord farming shouldn't take more than 10 minutes if you have a proper cavern arena set up for spawning mobs.
Sadly all 3 mech summon isnt possible : for every enemy killed, it roll a 1/2500 for destroyer summon. ONLY if it fails then it roll for the twins and skeletron in order try using a max luck mod to see
@@lillypad6936 Nope, for one thing that would drastically reduce the actual chances of getting the summons, and for another, a separate roll to determine which boss summon is dropped wouldn't be affected by luck; for proof of luck affecting mech boss summons independently, see Wand of Sparking's Dream luck videos.
@@Manahina1 That's only partially true, there is a VERY small zone of overlap between one biome and the next, so technically if you hit it and kill it pixel perfectly the game ends up uncertain as to whether it counts as Hallow or not and can give both drops. It's rare, but if you happen to be farming near where your Hallow and Evil biomes meet you can generally see it happen within an hour or so. The game isn't quite perfect with the Hallow/Evil biome limit, apparently. With other biomes there's, AFAIK, an INTENDED bleed effect area where it counts as both, but the Hallow/Evil thing just gets a bit weird in practice.
@@Manahina1 that's only true in the surface, I've had pretty large underground areas with corruption/hallow in them. They even have a special background with dark purple crystals, and enemies can drop both souls of light and souls of night. You gotta play with biome reaches and other mechanics though
I'd be interested in the rarest "observable" event too, for example the player can't know anything about their luck or crit chance rolls except by the damage indicator number.
exactly what I was thinking, the vast majority of the increase in rarity comes from the individual luck rolls for every time, which you would have no way of measuring without a mod. Everything else as far as I remember is technically noticeable
I feel like that would change drastically based on who's playing. Digging particle? Walking animation? Rain drop? I don't know how to state this question in a way that it has a definite answer.
That would be doing the same setup, and this not happening. Probability works interestingly, but as long as something not happening is an event, then the most likely event is the least likely event not occuring.

Lots of replayability too , you can chill , be very casual about it , or challenge yourself , go for higher difficulties , special seeds that completely flip the way you play , hell even replaying under the same conditions multiple times over can be vastly different. Insane modding community that can be done in tandem with all of the above and at the end of the day , double the experience and bring friends over too. 3k hours in the game and still going , best purchase of my life. Game has so much too it and it can feel overwhelming but once you get a bit of progression going the dopamine is so good.

This chance is definitely to the so low point that it's probably actually just zero, as there's no initial state of the RNG source which would produce the random results necessary to produce this event. Computers don't use true randomness, they use pseudo RNGs, which can be thought of as a very long list of numbers which seem random.

Rarest occurence Ive had happen was killing a master mode Dutchman which dropped the coin gun, pirate staff, discount card, and a piece or two of furniture. My mind was blown.
The red and orange rolls at 4:00 shouldn't be multiplied into the overall event chance, because they don't correspond to any result in the game world; they just determine what the numbers in the green rolls will be. What you should've done is assume the strongest possible bad luck, which is the first tick of bad ladybug luck, and compute the average/expected number that each green roll will be as a result of that luck value, and then multiply those green numbers into the overall event chance.
i don't know if this counts, but there's a slightly lower chance (1 in 10^690 i think) of waiting 899 ticks between black recluse's web spit attacks. i saw it ages ago when i was trying to find out poison staff rates (i was a noob) and it has lived in my mind rent free ever since. crazy video!
Well technically you can’t have one enemy drop a crimson and corruption key at the same time, but all the other keys can be dropped by the same enemy. However, the number is so large that it doesn’t matter at this point
I'd argue that these aren't triggered by one action, you pulling the trigger on the enemy, since you had to make biome combination that afaik doesn't spawn naturally, you have to consume the Midas Flask, kill the ladybug and deplete your mana. That's a lot of assumption for an event trigger.

not quite. say we flip a disc with sides 1 and 2 an infinite amount of times with a 50/50 chance of either side being landed on. what’s the probability that in one population of infinite trials, the disc lands on 1 every single time? a very small non-zero number. we can apply this to the probability function in the video, where 0 is a failure and 1 is a success. there could be a population of infinite trials where we get a 0 every single time, which is infinitely smaller than the chance of landing a 1, but is still a non-zero probability

I only ever killed Pirate Corsairs in hybrid Underworld-Snow-Desert-Jungle-Corruption-Crimson-Hallow biomes during Halloween with 1 tick of ladybug luck remaining with a Grey Zapinator that procs all of its effects at once but doesn't crit even with a 99% critical strike chance and having the killing blow receive +14% damage randomization that negative-luck-replaced a +15% damage randomization roll at minimum negative luck, and every time, they dropped the maximum amount of coins possible, the Coin Gun, Warding Lucky Coin, Warding Discount Card, Broken Pirate Staff, Broken Cutlass, Eye Patch, whole Sailor outfit, all twenty pieces of Golden Furniture, Warding Gold Ring, full Buccaneer's set, all five biome keys that can drop, a Soul of Light and a Soul of Night, 50 living fire blocks, 129 golden platforms, a Broken Hel-Fire, all 3 mech boss summons pre-Mechs, two stars, and a Goodie Bag, so I had no idea this is unlikely

the hallow also counters evil biomes, so you can get both a soul of light and night from a single drop.

You can tell how much Crit chance you have, so it’s definitely observable to not get a Crit at 99% Crit chance

A singular POSSIBLE in gameplay event (that doesn't use wire stuff) is what he is talking about.
By a "trigger" you have the opportunity to spawn a minion and it kills stuff for u so that defenition isnt the best

I only ever killed Pirate Corsairs in hybrid Underworld-Snow-Desert-Jungle-Corruption-Crimson-Hallow biomes during Halloween with 1 tick of ladybug luck remaining with a Grey Zapinator that procs all of its effects at once but doesn't crit even with a 99% critical strike chance and having the killing blow receive +14% damage randomization that negative-luck-replaced a +15% damage randomization roll at minimum negative luck, and every time, they dropped the maximum amount of coins possible, the Coin Gun, Warding Lucky Coin, Warding Discount Card, Broken Pirate Staff, Broken Cutlass, Eye Patch, whole Sailor outfit, all twenty pieces of Golden Furniture, Warding Gold Ring, full Buccaneer's set, all five biome keys that can drop, a Soul of Light and a Soul of Night, 50 living fire blocks, 129 golden platforms, a Broken Hel-Fire, all 3 mech boss summons pre-Mechs, two stars, and a Goodie Bag, so I had no idea this is unlikely
