Chocolate Nut Chews came out on the Pet Milk can around 65 years are more. I'm 65 and it was one of my favorite cookies. You can't make when it's humid. We would make 2 full batches in an 8qt pan. And they would be gone in a few days.
    Makes excellent Christmas gifts.

We call No-Bakes Turd Balls. The first recipe I started using as a teenager, didn't add peanut butter, which is of course how I prefer it, but I've also done straight peanut butter and skipped the cocoa, that's really good. I have a tip, if you add the cocoa to the sugar and butter before you add the milk, it blends in faster. ♡♡♡

When my oldest son was little (41 now!), he said the no-bake cookies looked like poop. This is still his favorite cookie and we still call them "poop" cookies. Sometimes when others hear this name, they are hesitant to try them. We all get a laugh out of that! I will definitely be making the s'mores. Thanks for the recipes.

No bake cookies is the first thing I teach my kids when they’re ready to bake on their own. We do it in the microwave. The sugar, butter, milk, cocoa for 3min. Stir. 2min. Stir in oatmeal peanut butter and vanilla. Then it’s ready to scoop.

The only difference is the name, we called them uncooked cookies, and we don't add the peanut butter, haven't made them in a while, segues what I'm making tomorrow! And I'm adding peanut butter!! Yummo. Thanks for the walk down memory lane! 😊😋

My Chocolate Oatmeal 'No Bake' Cookies have different amounts than yours. Growing up, we called them 'Boiling' Cookies. I stopped calling them that when people kept making yucky faces whenever I mentioned them. They thought the idea of cookies you boiled instead of baked was really, really gross. My aunt sometimes left out the cocoa and added extra peanut butter to make Peanut Butter Oatmeal 'No Bake' Cookies. I make them that way too sometimes.

Oh! My grandmother’s recipe said you could substitute shredded coconut or chopped nuts for the oats. I’ve never done that though, so don’t know how they taste. I’ve substituted crunchy peanut butter for creamy though. -- Plus, 1/2 cup of cocoa is too much for me, I use 1/4 cup instead.

Thanks so much for stopping by! We give a lot of goodies to our neighbors. And with all of our kids, these can get devoured quickly!

I make my own vanilla. I buy a pint of vodka and drop a bunch of cut up vanilla beans into the bottle. It takes a while to cure but it's worth the wait.

I'm from NZ, I've been making them for over 30yrs, we just call them 'uncooked cookies'. I got the recipe from a Canadian friend. Ours doesn't include peanut butter. It's the only 'cookie' we make, cos we make biscuits here, and no not your biscuits, those are scones.

In my family, we call the chocolate-oatmeal no-bake cookies: Cowpatties...cause we live in the south, mom was raised on a farm, and they look...well...like cow plop. hehe
