i just setup my automatic watering buckets this weekend. I like to leave the standalone waterer in their cages for a few days to make sure all them birbs had time to find the new watering hole.

Nothing wrong with that. Just make sure that when you do remove the other water source that they are using the new one.

Thanks for the tips. I use Rainbird 1/2" irrigation tubing on mine, it's black (no UV/Algae issue) and yes indeedy, a heat gun to put on fittings! I just ordered more T fittings from your store for another growout hutch.

The only comment I have as a person who has never had quail but will start in next 3 months as soon as I come back from a 2 trip and I will get all my needs through your Amazon store. Makes little sense to me for you to strain because of water being at back of cage. You have mounting plank on side where you open door. Is there a logical reason you didn’t mount it there? Then you don’t have to half climb in your cage. With bucket between 2 cages doesn’t seem to me it won’t work and just easier.

I had to re-watch the beginning. I was distracted laughing 😂 at your sweet dog trying to figure out who you were talking to. Seems he/she figured out you were plum crazy and left.😂

Thank you so much for these videos - I got a call 2 saturdays ago at 10 pm asking if I wanted brand new quail chicks asap … so now I’m trying to learn it all on the fly . This may be a basic question - where do I get the little red cups and what do they screw into exactly (what keeps the water from coming all out) sorry I didn’t see it in your store and I have no idea what I’m doing ! Thanks so much !

Even though it is not pressure fed, I still had a significant amount of leaking. So I glued the PVC piping.

Not watering related. In a previous video, you said 1 R to 5/6 hens. Can you put 2 Roos to 12 hens in one cage. I limited in space so I need to be able put 2 rooster in. The cage is 24x24 rabbit cage with modified floor.
    Thanks for any info.

Will be working on this soon. I was thinking of a toilet float system to top it up. Have you tried that? Great informative videos bud. Very helpful and inspiring.

I haven't done that myself but no reason that wouldn't work.

Hey brother - get your dryer or the vent checked out. I looks and sounds like there is a problem, maybe a clog.

Do you just give them water from the tap? I read that quail can’t have city water so we’ve been giving them filtered water for weeks. It just seems silly to me that birds can’t drink anything but filtered water. 🤷‍♀️

I just give them water from the tap and have never had an issue. No need to filter it.
