    Wow! Great video! I just recently have got back into shooting Archery (finishing a self bow that i started 15 years ago). I had a bow that looked identical to the Samick Sage. I bought it from my local archery shop in Iowa. Well over twenty years ago, I paid 225 (i am pretty sure) for that bow. As I talked with guys that had customs, I felt like 150 more would have have almost bought me a custom bow. But, also as time went on, I began to really like the bow. It said "Kiowah" on one of the limbs...anyway, thanks for the talk on this line of bows. 👏

    I bought the Journey in 30 lb, and then purchased 55 lb. limbs later on. I've killed two muley bucks with it so far and unfortunately last year I missed two different bucks on the same evening sit. I'm hoping to take an elk with it this season. I love my Journey! Thanks for the video!

    Really like my Samick Sage. Great starter and intermediate bow. No complaints, only praise. 45 and 50 lbs. Made in Korea. Korea has the best archers.

    Had a first ever lesson over the weekend. I used a Sage and I can’t believe how good it was. Very consistent. I understand the company changed hands and some names have changed. I hope the quality is still there.

    I`ve had my Sage for over two years now, and bought new stronger limbs instead of buying a new bow, and I like it very much. It`s a great bow. But, the lately I've seen a little bit at the Red Stag, one piece bow, and I think that will be my next bow..
    Anyway, Great review of the Samic series, and the Red Stag arc look very nice..
    Thank you.

    Hey John, hello from Austria (central south europe). What is your opinion on the SAMICK DEVESTATOR? Can you give me a short comparison on the SAGE, LIGHTNING, JOURNEY and the RED STAG. Can you recommend the DEVESTATOR as an advanced shooting bow? Over here it´s is hard to find some good reviews. Thanks up front, bud!

      I'm afraid the Devestator didn't get very good reviews. Twig has never stocked them, so I can't give an opinion. Check out our website. Each bow should have some reviews from our customers which might help you. www.twigarchery.com

    Good presentation on some of the Samick bows. Do all of the examples that you displayed have the same length riser. I'm asking because archers with longer draw lengths (like myself) would prefer an AMO of 64" or 66" in a hunting set-up. I've tried a 60" AMO and it stacks, as does a 62" AMO bow.

    I own a Samick Sage with two sets of limbs, 55# and 45#. I have had it for 4 years. It's a good bow but since I have switched to asian archery, I have found that the Samick Sage is way too heavy. So i'm letting it go to the first person who offers the right price, limbs and all!!!!

    Hello! Please tell, how many wood layers between fiberglass layers in your limbs of Samick Sage? I bought my sage (45#) in 2018, maybe it is new revision, but in my limbs there is only one basic wooden layer, but my samick polaris limb is consist of two basic layers of wood between fiberglass layers.

      Lower poundage limbs may only have 1, but the higher poundage have 2.

    Been shooting recurves since the mid 70's. Very infrequently I might add. haha
    Currently have a 45# Martin Mamba that I've had close to 30 yrs, but picked up a 40# Red Stag 1 on ebay a couple weeks ago brand new for about $120. I prefer a one piece bow. Shot it a couple times getting my nocking point squared away. Seems real solid so far and a reasonably quiet shooter. Now if I can just shoot more and work on my terrible form lol

      @@twigarchery My point exactly, what I want to know if you did see it what made you not buy it. Reason being, I notice that it is very popular in England and goes by the name Samick Lightning over there. Are you aware as to why this is? I have had mine for 5 years and it is a sweet bow.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MiguelDiaz4469 No, as I said- we do not have any experience with the NIghthawk in any way. We found the Samick Sage and Journey and went with those bows. We did not examine the whole Samick line and reject other bows, such as the Nighthawk. We are not Samick line experts. We only are most knowledgeable on the bows we carry. We will see a Samick bow here or there and add it to our line. Don't know anything about the Samick Lightning. We do know that Samick makes great bows and we have never been disappointed in any of the bows we carried, so I'm sure any of their bows will be a nice addition to anyone's collection. You might think about putting out a vid from your own experience to help others. Anyone is welcome to put some feedback on this page about their experience with the Nighthawk.

    Hey! :D
    I found your video quite interesting, encouraging me even more to buy a Samick bow :) I looked at many different models online, and I think I made out a decent deal for a Samick. Sadly, I didn´t find much information on it online. It is called Samick Leopard II - I found it to be a good choice for a beginner like me (?) There is only one catch: This one great offer that I found only goes with 40 lbs limbs, while I´d like to start off with 30 lbs and work my way up. I could additionally buy another pair of limbs branded for this particular model, but they are quite expensive. So I was wondering if the Leopard 2 Riser was compatible with any of the other limbs from Samick, or any other manufacturer. I could neither figure out which fitting system it uses, nor do I know which limbs do use which kind of fittings... So I was hoping you could enlighten me a little bit? At the end, I am just hoping to get some cheap 30 lbs limbs to fit on the Leopard 2 riser, until I am ready for the 40 lbs limbs included in the deal.
    Thanks for the good content; I´d feel honored to get some advice in this - You seem to know your Samicks like no one else does :)

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I could help you more, but we have never carried that bow, so we have no information that we can give you. I hope you are able to find some limbs for it!!

    • @lucastrever
      @lucastrever 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I ordered the bow anyways, but as it arrived it turned out that it is just the exact model of the Red Stag. When I did further research, I found out that there seemed to be some renaming going on: The "Leopard II" is completely equivalent to the "Red Stag".

    • @lucastrever
      @lucastrever 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So from your video I got that the Sage Delux limbs should be compatible with the Red Stag riser, but are there any other compatibilities though?

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What may have happened is this: Companies will go to a manufacturer and ask them to copy a bow and put their name on it. It becomes their bow line, same bow, just with their logo or name on it. So they probably went to Samick and asked them to manufacture that bow with the Leopard II name on it. Just a guess.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Delux limbs do fit on the Red Stag riser. I believe the Sage Delux is no longer manufactured as well. We do still have a few Sage Delux bows (no separate limbs) I do not know of any other bow that is compatible. (there may be some... I'm just not aware.) Good Luck in your search.

      While it is true, to the best of our knowledge, that the bows are now manufactured in China, we have no knowledge that Samick was sold to a Chinese company. They are just manufactured there. We have not noticed a change in quality of the last bows we purchased.
