Twig Archery discusses spacer for Black Hunter replacement limbs
มุมมอง 25K6 ปีที่แล้ว
John shows how to install the spacer on the Black Hunter Longbow replacement limbs. This spacer is needed because Big Rock tweaked the bow and added a 5/16 diameter bolt instead of the 1/4" bolt creating a bit of wiggle when the new limbs are installed on the old riser. This spacer corrects the issue enabling you to use the new Black Hunter limbs on the older style Black Hunter longbow.

    paint and wraps do add alot of weight onto an arrow as well and weight does give penetration

    Very good advice. And the point about leaving the bow strung was news to me, so it was well worth watching this. I'll save the video and get started on straightening the damned bow...!

    Thanks John love this bow just got it today, fast shipping! 1st 6 shots bullseyes. All setup and ready to go when you open the box. Looks good. fast. Does not have the white line through the center a little disapointing. It is not a black hunter knockoff I have 2 and they have totally different feel. This one is better.

    I would like to see what speeds can be reached at hunting weight arrows.

  • @manuelgonzalezzambrano1989
    @manuelgonzalezzambrano1989 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really think that you get that good speed, among other things, because of the light weight of the arrow. 344 greins, is very little arrow weight to hunt.

  • @johnbottone4996
    @johnbottone4996 ปีที่แล้ว

    Were you using a target arrow or a field tip pointed arrow? Which would change to speed drastically

    Just purchased this bow so far I really like it. At 50lbs it's fast for sure. Just had a couple questions. Where is the brace height set from back of the shelf, center or front? And why did they take the center line out of the riser that's what drew me to the bow so was a little disappointed when it showed up jet black. But really good shooting bow.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery ปีที่แล้ว

      From the deepest part of the grip to the string for brace height. It was already set on your string of you did not let it untwist from the package. They took the center line out to make a stronger bow. The black wood is supposed to be a stronger wood than before.

    • @bradleywheeler4245
      @bradleywheeler4245 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the reply. I prefer the mink hair silencer over the rubber and some other things so I had it off and untwisted a little. And very happy with the bow it is sweet shooter.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery ปีที่แล้ว

      The catwhiskers come with the set up, mink silencers can be purchased separately. Yes, we encourage making changes to fit your preferences. The set up we use is mostly for new archers to get them started. So pleased you like the bow! It is a sweet one!!! Enjoy!!

    Wow! Great video! I just recently have got back into shooting Archery (finishing a self bow that i started 15 years ago). I had a bow that looked identical to the Samick Sage. I bought it from my local archery shop in Iowa. Well over twenty years ago, I paid 225 (i am pretty sure) for that bow. As I talked with guys that had customs, I felt like 150 more would have have almost bought me a custom bow. But, also as time went on, I began to really like the bow. It said "Kiowah" on one of the limbs...anyway, thanks for the talk on this line of bows. 👏

    It seems that companies like Mandarin Duck, Obert, Glurak, SinoArt ect., all buy their risers from the Chinese company Junxing Bows and then just rebrand them. Can you verify that this is true or untrue with Twig Archery (Big Rock) bows? And if it is true, how is doubling the price compared to other companies justified if it is indeed the same bow?

  • @mwallace6540
    @mwallace6540 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice video. How do you like your Micro335? I had to change from my vertical compound bows to a cross bow last yr., because as I age I can’t keep up the poundage to stay legal for deer hunting. I’m currently shooting a Sub1 lite crossbow from Mission that I like but have always been interested in Excalibur. I would probably need to use a crank to cock it. You mentioned 16”, 440 gr arrows (including point I’m assuming). Does the 335 have problems with limb breakage? I’d be buying the bow used and not sure if Excalibur covers limbs on second owners. Thanks MW

    John, That was pretty fast for a economical crossbow and accurate with the wooden bolts.

  • @MrHardhead2
    @MrHardhead2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow! So much inconsistancy with these bows. Another takedown video shows a thin rubber washer between the limb and the main brass colored washer. Seems it would be better for wear on the limb and noise. Mine didn't come with those. Don't know whether to order some or not.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill, You only need the spacers if you have an original Black Hunter with the small black bolt and brass washer when trying to attach newer limbs with the larger hole. When they tweaked the bow they used a larger bolt and therefore made the limbs with a larger hole. So the spacer was needed to accommodate the new limbs on an older riser. Call is if you have further questions.
