Thanks for the shoutout Lawrence!!! I enjoy watching your channel as well and these caltracs are going to help the truck a bunch!! Go fast, go straight! Be SAFE!!
I put an electronic shift kit on my 96 ford shortbox and what a difference that thing made. Best 50 usd go fast part i ever bought. it had a 3 position switch street, strip and off. you could already feel it in street mode and in strip it was neck snappingly crisp almost harsh and would aggrevate a sore neck if you had one. the best part was it installed from the outside to the electrical plug and was done in less than an hour!

It's nice seeing the last few Videos dealing with this truck. I'm going longer hangers today and, will be doing the same mods overall, although mine is a 2005 2500 HD. I have Helper Air bags and plan to relocate them and install an Onboard compressor with a tad bit of automation, for towing and such... still looking for the right 6.0 to build out of the truck and swap it in.
This is what I need I have a 5.3 with a 4l80 with 2200 stall and 410 gears with a truetrac posi nothing but wheel hop when I turn and power is not planted to the floor. Awesome vid man!!! Great job keep up the great work thanks for showing
You should look into the oil udder, helps with removing the oil filters. No mess all over the hands. I picked one up this year and have used it twice. Such an improvement.
you can save the tranny by massively reducing the timing curve during shifts in the tune. This will result in the engine "bogging" down during the shift but will save the tranny. You should only have to do this for the 1/2 and 2/3 shifts. This will also help mitigate breaking the tires loose during sifting on the street during full throttle acceleration.
I feel your pain man. I put a bigger turbo on my fiesta and drove it for like a week without doing any wot pulls bc I didn’t have a tune for it yet. So hard and depressing to stay out of it lol
I was starting to think I was the only one that used anti seize on everything. I live on the east coast so everything rusts from the salt. I see so many people not use it in places I definitely would.
The 2-4 servo had a shim in it, good to go, as long as it's not to tight. The shim just tightens the pin movement. Less pin travel for quicker apply.. There's a shift kit for sure, they ground part of the servo.
I like your Channel I like your truck truck. I have a 98 C 1500 WT series short box a lot of times when I'm going to stop it just has a whole lot of Bounce in the back I'll check the brakes I've had the brakes looked at is there any other thing I could check to see why it bounces. Thank you
GM staggered the rear shocks because to keep the rear from hopping. They found this out with the 1967 Camaro Z28. That’s why they had a factory traction bar on one side of the rear. In 1968 they staggered the rear shocks and took away the traction bar.
I’ve heard that if you use the corvette servo you should use the shim from the shift kit. Something about not enough movement of the piston to release the band.
The Corvette servo just increases the surface area that the fluid pushes on, firming up the shift. If the spring inside it is stock you should not need a shim.
Wait til you're hard on the skinny pedal, it's not about how hard it hits it's about how tight it holds the band. Second gear climb feels so much stronger than a smaller servo, because the band actually slips on the drum
I was told the pointed tip of that Servo needs to be a specific distance away from the contact point and changing that distance changes shifting characteristics I think it might be the time delay between gears what are your thoughts
you are correct, the pin does have to be the correct length. On my truck, the "delay" you might hear when shifting is actually the torque management pulling timing to help the transmission shift and not slip
Good morning, are should I say good day, anyway I am subscribed to your channel and I have your a few things because of that thanks, however l have recently broke my transmission in my 2005 Chevy Avalanche, so l found a 2004 Avalanche and the transmission is broke in it as well now my question is to you do you want to get rid of your 4l60 e transmission

@@chrishansen7004 OK again it's not an OE part. Have you had the truck since it was new? In the OE world the pin is selective for length that gives the right adjustment. The corvette shift servo is a must for any 4l60 or 700r4, without it the trans lingers for a long time in-between the 1-2 shift.
Liked the Corvette servo part, recently had my 4l60 overhauled/stage 1 and shop also used this servo 👍
