I just ordered the 2023 Volkswagen T-Roc R-Line 4Motion 2 Litre, although I'm pretty sure as the order has only just gone in it's likely to be a 2024 now but I like it and you only live once so why not. Since 2 years i have purchased car T-Roc, Volkswagen support has been very incapable to solve one simple issue of clock timings. My clock keeps getting reset every day. I have sent several mails and reminders in the past. Car has been taken to service center many times here in Bengaluru. Various settings changed too. We are talking about an expensive car. A simple chinese clock of Rs 100 is more reliable then a german clock in Volkswagen. Very frustrated with this.
    On top of this, I keep getting emails post every service visit to give update on surveys or SMS. I do all that but still issue is not resolved. I have gone thru numerous pain with this car. In the first year, car was more at the service center than at my home. I have been taken for a ride by Volkswagen by giving me a defective car (Clock issue, Faulty SOS calls in the Car, Break pad issues, Mileage issues etc..) While some of them have been attended but Clock issue is there for long time. I have had almost 10 cars till now in my life but never had come across such issues in new car ?

    Current T Roc owner and the upgrades are very good and definitely needed. The problem is it’s just overpriced for what it is. You can buy a top spec Arona or Kamiq which granted are slightly smaller but still comparable for the entry level price of the T roc. And the entry level VW are not where I’d go. So yeah. Nice upgrades. Nice car. But overpriced.

    • @AutoSocialUK
      @AutoSocialUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AutoSocialUK Yeah car is in an odd spot and always has been in between compact and mid size. Just looked it up and you might as well buy a Tiguan or Ateca or Karoq in all honesty. Like you say a 1.0L DSG an odd omission given it’s position in the market too.

    • @Brian-jv8iy
      @Brian-jv8iy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Arona and the Skoda are based on Polo and Fabia. If thats your thing, then go for it.
      A Mercedes can cost 210k euro, would you also say its overpriced and Skoda is better value? If yes then there are some flaws in your logic. All these products are different.

    • @zappybazinga8124
      @zappybazinga8124 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Brian-jv8iy Skoda, Seat and Vw cars are all built on the same platforms and use the same parts. Since all part of the VW group. The T roc is built on the golf platform which the Skoda Karoq and Seat Ateca are built on. The Karoq is actually slightly bigger and more premium than the T Roc. At least the original T roc which was pretty plasticky inside. The fact is these cars are not like comparing a Merc to a Peugeot. They are built on the same platforms with the same parts, same systems and are in many cases only varies by their badge. And it’s not even as clear cut as the VW car always being most premium anymore. I have a T roc. My point was you can buy a Karoq which has a nicer interior, exact same engine and gearbox. And is bigger. So t roc is in an odd spot price wise and always has been.

    A lovely review but VW is trying harder than ever before to make people think there were more changes than there actually were. Barely anything changed.
    “D shaped” DRLs weren’t standard before and still aren’t now, cheaper models, like the one you showed with 16 inch wheels, have chrome plastic there.
    Rear lights were smoked before only on higher trims, now all trims get smoked taillights.
    New style VW badges have been on T-Rocs for the past 2 years, same with wireless CarPlay and Android auto.
    Standard wheels seem to be 16 inch Chester’s just like before.
    Only a tiny part of the dash is soft touch, about 98% of the interior seen no change in materials used.
    All software is the same as before.

    Good review Tish, but personally, I'd never buy a VW - ever. Like the Golf and every other VW, they all look like they were designed by committee by suits in a meeting room. No flair at all - everything is just 'functional' - just bland, bland bland, and I HATE scrolling indicators! VW are heading down a dodgy path by having everything 'touch' too - it's painful to see VW (and others) trying to save a few £ by removing most physical buttons. I also believe VW are almost solely responsbile for the current hostility and negativity towards diesel engines. A modern diesel is very clean (the addition of DPF's and AdBlu tanks saw to that). Thanks VW!
