    Donna, You have inspired me and tutored me over the last 2 years or so. So thank you for ALL your efforts, continuing to produce these wonderful videos for us all to enjoy. I've enjoyed buying numerous patterns from you and one runner kit as well...my 1st ever log cabin design. Your fabric choices are stellar. I only wish I had a stash like yours. 💕

    Hello Donna,
    Always happy to get a notification from Jordan Fabrics. You have chosen a beautiful/colourful jelly roll for this quilt.
    Am spending time with my teenage granddaughter this week ( no school-mid term) . She loves to sew with me .... I think I just found an easy quilt/ your tutorial to inspire her. I have two jelly rolls in my stash to choose from -it should get us going.
    😁💕

      The stars one that Donna did very recently , also Cozy Quilts, is one of my favourites . I've made it twice to use up left over jelly roll strips for my charity quilts. Even better was the fact that Jordan Fabrics offered pdf version so buying from the UK wasn't expensive. Love these inspirational videos.

    • @wendywilson1736
      @wendywilson1736 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. I did use extra blocks on the back for my nephew and lovely wife's quilt, once, though. Joanne fabrics took it upon themselves to use the extra piece off the bolt of green, and included that in my yardage instead of giving me one whole piece. I washed&dried it before I noticed the difference, so I sewed the extra blocks in a row, and put it between the pieces.
      While it wasn't critical on this quilt with batiks, and casual earthy style, it still irritated me that that store clerk would be so assuming I would accept that substitution. I did not notice it till after I washed them, then of course they would not refund me. I took my quilt related business to my local quiltshop, and my papercrafting to HobbyLobby.
      I'm sure Jordan Fabrics would Never just assume someone would be okay with two separate pieces, that could be in different dye lots.

  • @anitajonsson4379
    @anitajonsson4379 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Donna, I love the Simple Simon quilt! The colours really are my favorites, especially the lime green or aubergine, raspberry fuschia color and the lipstick peachy pink color. I just remembered the white and cream fabric you chose to use as the background for the block background fabric. I absolutely love this fabric and its two colors. I guess it would be fair to say that am excited about making this quilt for me (first) using your color and fabric choices. Then, I will make two more of these quilts immediately afterwards to capitalize on what I have just learned. But, with the next two quilts I'll be choosing different sets of colors that coordinate the entirely different colors my adult son and daughter prefer. The future looks bright, so much fun making three different color-coordinated quilts using the Simple Simon pattern for this beginner quilt maker. Thank you for your inspiration, tutorial, and entertainment! I just loved the entire film from start to finish 💖🏆💐

    Lovely! I think I prefer the jelly roll version, although maybe that’s because the one you used gives your quilt an almost 3D geometrical look. I would add 1.5yds to the accent fabric requirements and add a 6” border to the entire quilt (for all the tall folks in my family!) 😁

I use my extra blocks or fabric to make a label row on the back of all my quilts as they are made for a certain person.
