    Well done Hyundai, some different and cool looking to boot. Now let’s see what it can do, I expect it will be good.

    ‘I know, there’s probably absolutely no need for it, it’s probably a bit childish, but it makes me happy!’. Exactly the sort of thing that my Tesla makes me feel. Love your excitement and this car is absolutely lovely. Looking forward to seeing it and driving it when it comes out. Something to be excited about!

    Looks amazing
    Hopefully it's near as efficient as the original ioniq, but maybe it's much bigger / longer / heavier.
    Much more premium too.
    I'm not sure I'll part with my kona for it, but it sure does look amazing.
    No info on how many wookies fit in the boot?

    • @thunderbolt4741
      @thunderbolt4741 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ionic 6 is slightly longer than the 5 but it’s lower and much more aero dynamic which means it will be more efficient than the 5.

    • @lanceareadbhar
      @lanceareadbhar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the drag coefficient for the original Ioniq is 0.24 and for the Ioniq 5 it's .29. This is supposedly 0.21 which I think is tied for the second best on the market behind the Mercedes EQS (0.20). That's amazing given the expected price tag.

    I can definitely see a Saab style in it but that also makes me think some old Citroën. I like how it looks.

    On the Hyundai USA webpage they're estimating 340 miles of range...I assume that's be a single motor variant and there's very little info but that sounds REALLY solid. I love this thing.

    Flipping love this. And the revival of the saloon - I've been amazed that manufacturers have stuck doggedly with SUVs for their EV cars when saloons would be so much more efficient.
    But you didn't show the boot, so is it a true saloon, or a sneaky hatch back...
    (Also, looked like the window switches were on the centre console. So old school. Love it.)

  • @JoriDiculous
    @JoriDiculous 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    that's quite the strep from the iconic ionic 5. Not sure why they went from the more SUV-like I5 to this sedancoupething, still surprisingly good room in the back even with that sloping roof. The design will grow on you, it looks better the more i see it.

  • @jamesmccormack3229

    Looks good, wish looked more like the Prophecy, something like the older Hyundai coupe from the front with an old 911 from the 80's inspiration at the rear with matrix lights. Being an Ioniq5 owner I can see a lot of the same parts on the dash including the metal surround for the screens and lever switch gear. I am excited about the future of the brand just now.

    Hyundai & Kia continue to knock the ball out of the park, on fresh new designs.
    If only they could double their production rates / open a new factory. Then maybe they would be able to make enough for people to buy them.... Instead of just having your name on a waiting list for a year...!

    I like to mention the rear deck spoiler that happens to light up it would be brilliant for truck drivers as they will be able to look down in big cities and see what that car is doing if there was indicators on the side of those spoiler it would be great I think my mounting brake lights and indicators for lorry drivers trucks anything that has a higher than average driving position would help especially for short ass cars like hatchbacks

    The Ioniq 5 is one of the most beautiful executions of the EV I've ever seen, this Ioniq 6 looks okay though the rear is a little too 'Porsche' and doesn't fit super well with the rest of the car.

    This reminds me of the first off the line first in my town in 2005 built in Alabama Phantom Black 2006 Sonata 3.3 V6 LX, I took a chance on that car (looking at it and reading up on it, bought it) ILterally over Lunch off the pedastle 30 miles away when I knew it was there off the truck (slightly longer lunch). This same car I still drive proudly today 17 years 204K mi later. This Ioniq 6 may be my next car for the very same reasons. A first and iconic modern car with great care to its making. Never been excited for EV until now.

      Around town, I frequently get up to 5 miles per kWh in my 6 month old Ioniq 5 Premium with the smaller battery and only rear wheel drive. The Ioniq name is now Hyundai's upmarket range, much like Toyota's Lexus brand, so they won't be replacing the "old" Ioniq's with any of these numbered models as they're all part of the new upmarket branded range. I suspect the top of the range Ioniq 6 will be comparable to the Ioniq 5 top of the range around £50k+. Lovely car but they're all over the top price-wise.

The electric is going to be expensive but hybrid will put in within the reaches of many. I know they are killing Sonata soon, could this take it's place in the line up?
