Huỳnh Thiện Pho is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes/soups. LA where I live has an amazing Pho shop that is 24hrs & delivers. I nearly died when I found that gold mine. Perfect hangover food.
We don't have hardly any Vietnamese community where I'm from, so I'm very unfamiliar with Vietnamese food. I'd love to see anything that's unique to your cuisine, or that gives a Vietnamese twist on Asian dishes I might already know. Good luck!
Excellent! I can't wait to try this! I recently moved the the Pacific Northwest and there are so many Vietnamese restaurants here and the food is ridiculously good!
i watch alot of apring rolls but your is the best i like bcoz you put lot of herbal leaves. my husband will love this , taking out the noodles bcoz he have diabetes. good luck.
Whenever I make it I serve it with a somewhat similar hoisin based sauce but instead of using vinegar I use peanut butter and thin it out with milk or coconut milk, with a spritz of lime in the serving bowl. It makes a sort of peanut satay sauce
I really want it but its hard to get in my country. Is it worth the trouble? Not to be braggy.. just to explain... im a chef. Could it be something for me? Like not a beginners guide or something but im looking for the more authentic and less common things. Just more to the vietnamese cuisine than your average pho.
Im so glad that foodtube have you on their channel. Vietnamese cuisine will shine and your work will be absolutely stunning. Btw, Can you show us " bap bo muoi cai chua"?
Thank you SO MUCH for including a dipping sauce that doesn't contain peanut butter!!! I don't understand why so many people think these are served with a peanut butter based sauce. When I order these (in the States, anyway) I immediately throw out the sauce they give you. It's never right. Good job!
Eh depends on where the chef vimes from tbh. Vietnamese have three taste bud. North a little more saltier, central spicier and the south more sweet. Just so happen that most restaurant in North America was founded by Southeners and hence the sweet peanut base sauce. But honestly as a vietnamese you can dunk it in any sauce you so desire.
I love the food diversity. I don't think I want to go work tomorrow. It's like food nation and fusion. We need to see malaysian, Russian, etc Jamie you the man! Uyen Luu. Good luck! X
Love them! Thanks a lot ... Always left the ricepaper in the water too long, so the rolls fell apart. Your method of rolling works perfectly and the sauce is delicious!
Love you. So nice, Vietnamese food is really so tasty and wonderful. My wife and I enjoy it so much. I'd love to learn about more kinds of Vietnamese rolls and dipping sauces. Of course, in good combinations. You have a wonderful speaking voice, and you make me feel at peace with you and able to fully enjoy the recipe. Well done. Sincerely, Scott.
That was great! I'm so crap at rolling those things, but I'm going to give it another go. Love to see you make your wonton noodle soup with fishcakes or a congee!!
Excellent! I've been lucky enough to see Uyen do this in person at her great cookery class, and would urge you to do the same, but brilliant to have access to her expertise here too. More please!
Love Vietnamese food especially these rolls. Will have to try your recipe. If you can make clay pot fish or pork, that would be great! Love watching you cook. Keep the videos coming. Thanks! 👍😊
So yummo and mouth filling, the flavours must be so good as you give yourself time to enjoy every moment, thank you, I must now give the sensation a try.
I used to always tear the paper rolls and didn't know why. I didn't realize you just had to dip them. Packet instructions were not very. Thanks for the easy to follow video! :D
I'm Vietnamese and I guarantee you guys this one is pretty accurate compared to our traditional recipe. You should try this out if you want to try the real Vietnamese summer rolls. They're really delicious!
Wow!!! Please, more authentic, delicious, healthy Vietnamese recipes. We don't have that much of this cuisine on TH-cam. It's high time to change it! ;)
Woooooow it looks so yuuuuummyyyy *^* I would like to see more recipes ! Like Vietnamese Kimchi (because I only know the korean version) or soupes recipes (it's cold outside now :p) :) Sorry if I've made some mistakes in my phrases, I'm french ^^
Thank you very much for the video! They look so tasty and easy! I'm definitely cooking the summer rolls tomorrow. I wish you would show us some recipe of a Vietnamese soup too :)
good tip for making the rolls: add each filling in segments (add noodles then roll a little, add herbs and roll a little more, then shrimps at the end for the final roll). this will not only allow the roll to look more uniform, it will hold better when eating and looks more aesthetically pleasing. Also for the sauce, add about 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter, you'll thank me later. I'm not trying to be pretentious, I've made thousands of spring rolls when I used to work at a mom and pop Viet restaurant. Hope this helps!
If i don't want to use pork belly ( i'm a moslem ), which ingredients should i use for replacement ? i'm usually use chicken breast ( steamed ) but it lack depth of flavour in my opinion.
Fansa Al Malik I usually just eat shrimp in my rolls, but if you like, vegetarian Vietnamese ham (cha lua chay) is a great alternative to pork belly. Only problem with that is, it is very hard to come by if you don't live near an Asian/Vietnamese market. You can actually use chicken, but instead of steaming it, I would suggest braising it. Hope that helps!
+Michael Tran Yeah just shrimp is good enough actually, especially when it's fresh, and as for ham, i can't use it either since it 's the same as pork, made from pig meat, which is forbidden for moslem to eat. Maybe i'll try ox tail or cow foot, since it has a good texture and consistency. Thanx for the advice anyway :D
+Fansa Al Malik Ditch the Prawn and Pork and use beef. Butter Beef to be exact, goes well with the herbs and vermicelli, but has to be eaten warm otherwise the beef juice and butter starts congealing and won't taste as great. Traditionally we cook the meat as needed at the table so the roll is prepped with herbs and noodles and you throw in the beef straight from the hotplate.
Can you make vietnamese crispy spring rolls with the sweet, garlicky vinegar dipping sauce? Then the dish fresh vermicelli bowl with salad greens, grilled pork and spring rolls. I believe the dish is called bun thit nuong.
lovely. Ordering her book. But one thing I do love is Pad Thai. a Simpel pad thia to show off for in a Dinner In date night would be lovely. Edit. I do apologies if this dish is not Vietnamese.
Proud Vietnamese!! Well done! :) loooks so yummy. Like from my mum ^^ only my mum make a really thin omelette and slice it into strips and put it in there too. But overall, good job!
Thank you! Yes sometimes I put egg in there, these are the Saigon ones. My mum is from Phan Thiet and in that region, they do it with spring rolls, boiled eggs, picked ham and shredded pork skin! Its amazing!

We don't have hardly any Vietnamese community where I'm from, so I'm very unfamiliar with Vietnamese food. I'd love to see anything that's unique to your cuisine, or that gives a Vietnamese twist on Asian dishes I might already know.

Whenever I make it I serve it with a somewhat similar hoisin based sauce but instead of using vinegar I use peanut butter and thin it out with milk or coconut milk, with a spritz of lime in the serving bowl. It makes a sort of peanut satay sauce

I used to always tear the paper rolls and didn't know why. I didn't realize you just had to dip them. Packet instructions were not very. Thanks for the easy to follow video! :D
THANK YOU. I struggled with the tucking bits afraid that the rice paper would break. Now I don´t and they look way better.
I'm Vietnamese and I guarantee you guys this one is pretty accurate compared to our traditional recipe. You should try this out if you want to try the real Vietnamese summer rolls. They're really delicious!

I love this! So traditional and just like how my mom does it. Maybe you could do bun Bo hue or a noodle soup?
"It's not the most elegant thing to eat" lol no one was thinking that until you er... mentioned it
+Trams87 didn't say there was. I just found it funny.
I burst out laughing when I read this while still watching.X'D
How about Banh Cuon Vietnamese Steam Rice Rolls or Banh Mi Vietnamese Sandwich? They're one of my favorites!
I love this! You should have your own cooking channel! Xx

Fansa Al Malik we call it vegetarian ham, but it's actually only made of tofu and mushroom powder, no pork at all.
+Fansa Al Malik Ditch the Prawn and Pork and use beef. Traditionally we cook the meat as needed at the table so the roll is prepped with herbs and noodles and you throw in the beef straight from the hotplate.
The sauce is interesting, I can feel the heat.
Excellent presentation. Very delicious. Thank you
I'm Vietnamese and Spring rolls and Summer rolls are both my favorite dishes, i wonder how Autumn rolls and Winter rolls be like :D

Can you make vietnamese crispy spring rolls with the sweet, garlicky vinegar dipping sauce? Then the dish fresh vermicelli bowl with salad greens, grilled pork and spring rolls. I believe the dish is called bun thit nuong.
