    I'm also glad his fantastic help and information is still available. Donn's videos are my go to source whenever I have a question about something or can't remember.....which happens a lot anymore...Thanks again for keeping it here and still having DVDs available. God bless his family.

    I'm glad he's still passing on his knowledge, I was puncturing the cans ,letting it gas off, then using it, didn't work worth a crap, way too much solvent, not enough pigment, so I'm gonna try this method, thank you to whoever is continuing to spread the late great Mr. Yost's knowledge about all things Plastic model kits 👍

    This method is the safest and easy way to decant but you never get all of the paint out. Unfortunately the only way of getting all of it out is the puncture method which can be really dangerous but after getting most of it out this way the 2nd method is less risky as most of the propellant will be gone, but caution is still advised.

    Great way to decant the paint. Thanks for sharing Donn. I have a touch up cup just like that from when I had my body shop. Have a great weekend my friend. Terry

    Don, you are NOT letting the solvents escape the decanted paint….you are allowing the PROPELLANT to escape. A fun thing to do would be to show your viewers what happens if you close the decanted paint jar up and shake it and then open it…..so folks don’t do it!

    Nice way to decant paint. Much better than wrestling with drinking straws. Just wear your gloves and have ventilation. Thanks for sharing.

    Gidday, this is an extremely well explained and thought out video, but i feel all this work is not required and over complicated. You can simply spray directly into the side of your airbrush cup(no straw needed!) and immediately straight onto the model. No waiting is required. This method works fantastic with the propellant still in the paint, even if the paint is still bubbling. Exactly the same as if sprayed from the can. The best place to keep paint is in the original spray can. I have done this 100's of times with fantastic results.... there is however some exceptions - primers and auto clears are a bit thicker and need some thinning in the cup with mr levelling thinner before spraying out of your airbrush. Keep up your interesting and informative videos.

    I just a punch and slowly drain the pressure and pull the spray lid off the can. And empty the can with the marble with the paint. No spraying required.

    I would just decant directly into the glass jar .. in some cases, straight into airbrush cup, the. Spray it. Works just fine~

    • @ScaleModelTechniques
      @ScaleModelTechniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not really necessary, but you can . You’ll just have to be careful when laying down your coats due to the thinness of the clear .

      If all the pressure is gone shake the can well and use a screwdriver to pierce a hole in the can and drain out the paint. There are videos showing how to do that. DONT PIERCE A CAN THAT HAS PRESSURE !
