And we know for sure that Peter Franzén, also known as King Harald Finehair has been married to an actress and singer Irina Björklund since 1996! Unfortunately, Jonathan Rhys Meyers will not be back on Vikings in Season 6 as Bishop Heahmund, but we cannot help remembering his romance with Lagertha.

Before the Danish invasion by the children of Ragnar, England was divided into smaller independent kingdoms collectively called the Anglo-Saxon Heptarchy. The sons of Ragnar, when they led the Great Heathen Army to invade the island of Britain, conquered most of the kingdoms, breaking down the Anglo-Saxon Heptarchy. With all the other English realms conquered, Wessex was able to gain dominance and become powerful enough to eventually establish a unified kingdom of England.
In 865 a Great Viking Army left Scandinavia to conquer England. The Great Viking Army known by the Anglo-Saxons as the Great Heathen Army was a coalition of Norse warriors, originating from Denmark & Norway (& possibly also from Sweden) who came together under a unified command to invade the 4 Anglo-Saxon kingdoms that constituted England.
This might Viking force was led by the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok: the Norse invasion of Britain by the Great Heathen Army was aimed at avenging the death of Ragnar Lothbrok. Ivar the Boneless, Björn Ironside, Halfdan Ragnarsson, Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye, and Ubba the Norse chieftains lead the Great Heathen Army that would invade Britain, controlling & constituting it as a unified Medieval state.

It was hard to have the Vikings series be over! I loved only Ragnar for a long time but then i had a couple other ones grow on me. Ivar and King Harold. And always Lagertha has been a favorite.

They are all superb actors i enjoy watching them in their roles. My favorite is the actor that portrays Ivar its an amazing skill how he embodies his disability that's is a lot of physical work on his body and his acting was great!

Ragnar was so central to Vikings such a protagonist I still can't believe that he 's killed off; or, that Travis is so detached from the role- unbelievable.
That's historically accurate though
Travis said he only took the role for the money because he wanted to buy a farm in Australia. He’s not about the glitz and glamour and Hollywood lifestyle… even though he’s a phenomenal actor he’s just a very down earth guy .
"Detached" in that he didn't feel challenged by it, but he did such a great job. His sense of humor & play offset his cruelty. Like all thieves, the Vikings were parasites except for their longboat, seafaring, & navigation skills. No doubt they were brave, but what did they contribute to human progress? Alfred the Great was really their greatest accomplishment since their invasions of England led him to unite its four fiefdoms into a nation-state.

Ubbe, but I agree. He had the qualities of his father but was a peace maker. Ragnar was a raider who treated death casually. Alfred the Great's war speech to the Vikings spells this out brilliantly. And, btw, Alfred won, didn't he.

She is not gorgeous which is why she is interesting as a lead actress. The real beauty is the witchy tall one who seduces Ragnar and births Ubbe, Ivar, & those two other guys.
I ABSOLUTELY love writers w/ a vision of a whole story (Hirst, Lindelof, Gilligan & Esmail) Bring in a handful of great writers into the writers room and you get a show like this, The Leftovers, Breaking bad Mr. Robot....The actors are cardboard cutouts at first but I couldn't see anyone else playing Floki! I still laugh at , I think se1 when Ziggy says to Floki, can you keep a secret? He does his unforgettable laugh and says no. Those are the actors you watch for
