    Hey Bro, just wanted to write this because everyone needs to hear stuff like this. I don't know if you've seen comments from me before but you were one of the ones to really get me into reading star wars books in the past several months. Thank you for being you and delivering these video gems. Keep grinding. I feel like you are the type to just do this for fun and isn' t really worried about views but I can imagine it is still nice to see your numbers go up. I am happy I am one of those numbers. Most of the time the ones with smaller audiences are the better channels. Not always.....but in your case.....definitely. Much love bro. I am proud of you.

      Aw, that is so nice to say. I really appreciate it! I currently do this for fun, but am trying to increase my audience without losing what makes my channel special.

      Great job as always! I clearly have a ton of trek reading to do. Question: do you think John Jackson Miller and others like Kevin J. Anderson etc would be open to doing an interview with you? I bet it would be terrific 👍

    Because of your earlier vid I ordered the Prey trilogy. It's still waiting on the shelf. So many books, so little time! But I will eventually read it...

    Can't wait to read The Fall series!! and the Prey Series!!!! Yay.. love your channel!! 😊 Thanks so much!
    Regarding the CODA, post Nemisis, I'm not sure I have the heart to read post-Data books, though I just finished Cold Equations Trilogy. Does CODA happen after Cold Equations? (trying not to give away spoilers)

      Coda is the absolute last series in the Post-Nemesis series.

    Just want to comment and say that your videos are great and wanted to mention some of my fav series. My go-to author for a lot of Star Trek is Micheal Jan Friedman. Two of the series that I also have on the backlog is The Q Continuum by Greg Cox, and the IKS Gorkon series. From there I have no idea what I'm going to read but, all these series you have mentioned sound spectacular.

    Did you ever read one of the SHATNERVERSE trilogies? I read mixed things about them. Most people hate them because Shatner essentially revived Kirk after GENERATIONS and sent him on more adventures to save the galaxy, together with Picard. I don't mind Shatners ego that might shimmer through these books - cause I think he truly is the man, the myth and the legend, and well deserved - so I'm looking forward to dive into them.

      I’ve been waiting to get though more of the Post-Nemesis books before I read any of the Shanterverse, but I’ll check it out soon, maybe in the next year or two.

    I don’t know anything about Star Trek, but am thinking of starting to read the novels because I think I will like them. I am a huge fan of Star Wars novels. So, keeping in mind that I do not know anything about Star Trek, do you have recommendations on where to start with reading the novels?

    • @jonathankoan
      @jonathankoan  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very much a loaded question. You should definitely check out the “Almighty Star Trek Lit-Verse Reading Order Flow Chart”. That’ll have the best explanation. If you feel confident, start with Destiny or a stand-alone like “Before Dishonor”. If you want to really get a full experience, start with the Avatar duology and then go from there (those early books are not always as good as the later books). The sweet spot for me is the Fall Series through the Prey trilogy. That’s when it hits its peak, although it might not be best to jump in there.

    I enjoyed Prey. Where would I start with Post-Nemesis to get to Coda?

    • @jonathankoan
      @jonathankoan  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a long journey. 😂 Basically, the more Post-Nemesis books you read, the more of an impact Coda will have. For sure, hit the big ones (A Time To, Avatar, Destiny, Typhon Pact, The Fall, Prey, and some of the important Standalones). Once you’ve got a lot of them under your belt, then you’ll probably be good to start Coda.

    • @jonathankoan
      @jonathankoan  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@randyrayborn4405 if you want the full experience, I’d start with Avatar, the DS9 duology that started everything. If you want a faster pace to get there, hit the most essential starting with Destiny.

    if the coda series is meant as a universe ending thing should any show that is in that universe cease production because they do not have a universe to exist in?

    • @jonathankoan
      @jonathankoan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The existing line of Star Trek books and series is what it ended, so it ended the TNG, Voyager, DS9, Titan, Aventine, etc. However, the series was meant to basically reconcile the fact that we have so many universes, so the Picard, Strange New Worlds, Discovery, Prodigy, and Lower Decks universe(s) are still safe, and basically are the only universes where they will publish books (for now).
      But sadly, this means that we probably won’t get any more Post-Nemesis books anytime soon.

      @@jonathankoan what it really means is that we are only be getting bad trek cause it shut down all the good trek. and all the good trek will not ever be produced or seen again.
