    Love this! I'm excited to read the Fall Series and Prey trilogy (already read the others and agree with everything you say). My 'thing' is that my favorite character is Data in TNG, so I love pre-Nemisis I guess you might say?... novels when Data is still 'Data'. Reading Cold Equations (almost finished with 3rd book) ..well I like it okay but miss "Data"...i think I had different expectations when picking up the trilogy. I would love to know all the "Data books" pre and post Nemisis 😄

    i'm currently on book 2 of the pre-trilogy. I hope to finish the whole trilogy by tomorrow. I do want to read Star Trek the next generation cold equations trilogy next month. I'm also going to start the fall series as well along with the dominion war series, and the Roman war series, I did read articles of the Federation. That was a really good book. I have to admit I also read making it so, the Benjamin Cisco autobiography as well. I need to finish the seventh and eighth a times to books and get the ninth book I haven't read the other six as of yet I do need to get the other four books for the typhoon pack series. I've read books 4 and five I haven't read six through 10 yet or one through three yet. I will eventually get around to the tighten series at some point, and I will finish out with coda which I have those books as well. While trying to fit in some Sara JMAAS, some Robin, Hobb, some Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson and some Stephen Erickson this year. Along with Danielle steel. But I have to say the trilogy is a very good read and John Jackson Miller is a Hella fight writer. I can't wait to listen to firewall next month when I get it with my audable credit on the 27th of next month. There are two other books coming out this year one about Dr. Julian Anderson from Star Trek for a voyage home and there's another Star Trek the next generation book coming out in May. I believe I hope to get both of those as well. Thanks for the video it's awesome.

    I read the entire "Borg War" arc including the Destiny trilogy around 2011, but didn't start the Typhon Pact arc until The Fall arc came out. I then got all the post-Fall TNG and DS9 novels until they rebooted the continuity with Picard.

    i'm on book 3 of the destiny trilogy as we speak Eicke and put it down after reading book one yesterday and I plan on staying up until about two in the morning to read the last book in the trilogy. I've read all six section 31 books, all nine Star Trek discovery books, all five Star Trek Picard books I've read all the books containing Captain Christopher Pike, I've read, the autobiography of Captain, Kathryn, Janeway, and Mr. Spock, I've read Volkins glory, Spock's world, Volkins, heart, child of two worlds, children of the king, burning dreams, the new enterprise adventure, talking about Captain Kurtz, first assignment is the captain of the enterprise a. I've read the autobiography of George Takei, the autobiography of Will Wheaton, the autobiography send fiction by Brent Spiner, the 50 year mission the unauthorized autobiography of the first 25 years of Star Trek and the second 25 years of Star Trek containing next generation, D space 9, Voyager, enterprise, and the JJ, Abrams movies. I've read approximately 40 Star Trek books since May 2023. I plan on reading the fall, book series, coda, and the PREY series. I will purchase a time two series and the typhoon series along with the Titan series eventually. I've also read, Star Trek generations, Star Trek, the next generation reunion, Star Trek, six, the undiscovered country, Star Trek nemesis, and that's about it for now of course, I have all of the Star Trek series, all 13 movies and all the Star Trek documentaries on digital the only one I don't have is Star Trek the animated series with the original cast or digital in season three of Star Trek Picard but I will be purchasing that on October 17, 2023 along with make it so by Sir Patrick Stewart, and the autobiography of Captain Benjamin Sisko. I would love to read the comic books, but because I'm legally blind and they don't have them in braille or audio format. I can't read the captain pike comic book series, but I've read every book that has a story about Captain Christopher Pike because he's one of my favorite captains of all time next to Captain Picard, Captain Sisqó, and Captain Janeway.

    I started with the Titan books this year. At the moment I am reading Articles of the Federation by deCandido, which I picked up because of your review. I am enjoying it so far.

    In terms of post Nemesis I have not read them all but I have read a huge chunk and I agree with your recommendations. The Voyager relaunch didn't really grab me the same way they DS9 ones did so they're sort of my gap in knowledge.
    It's not just in this timeline but I would like to mention to anyone that wasn't a fan of how Enterprise ended or even if you weren't a fan of the series that the post Enterprise books are some of the best Trek has ever done (and I've read a huge chunk of the 700)
    Also my new drinking game is a shot every time you say or nearly say Wars instead of Trek 😉
    Take care

      You’ll be too drunk if you start that game. Since I record all my videos back-to-back, that mess up happens a lot. 😂

    Hi there! Wow I love your videos! Great recommendations. I was wondering about the typhon pact books. I see that you don’t have a review in that series. Is that something you have planned or not just yet?

    • @jonathankoan

      I recently received all of the Typhon Pact books for Christmas, and they are on my TBR for the second half of the year. I will definitely have reviews out for them as I read them.

    I have one question about the post nemesis era books:
    Does Data get resurrected?
    (Not counting what happens in Picard that show is clearly in an alternate timeline)

    • @jonathankoan
      @jonathankoan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kind of. His body is no longer in the universe, but his Conscience is re-uploaded in another individual. It happens in the cold equations trilogy and is continued in the book “the light fantastic”.

    I haven't read any Star Trek Novels but am interested in reading Star Trek Coda trilogy, are there any I should read before I read those?

    • @jonathankoan
      @jonathankoan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely read Coda last. It’s meant to be the big finale to the Post Nemesis line. I would read the big series (Destiny, the Fall, Prey, etc) first, and save Coda for much later.

    Is the Destiny trilogy available on audio book, does anyone know ? Great reads !

    • @jonathankoan
      @jonathankoan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They stopped making abridged audiobooks in the early 2000s and didn’t pick back up with unabridged audiobooks until about 2016ish. So the Destiny trilogy did not get one to my knowledge, but it should have one for how good it is.

    Personally I would include Christie Golden's second Voyager duology just because it does get the Voyager characters where they need to be for the Destiny Trilogy and Full Circle. Honestly, I stopped getting and reading the TNG novels after the Destiny Trilogy, and only kept on the Voyager ones until I couldn't keep up with them anymore, and that only ended up being until 2014. I'm not as big of a fan of DS9 so I ignored those novels for the most part. Though I did read the Mission Gamma series not long after they came out.
