You ain't an unsheathe merchant, most players skills can be narrowed down to a few things...... just spamming skills, spamming jump attacks or spam rolling etc. Regardless of how you beat an enemy, boss, or the game, it is still valid. Likewise with summons, your first play through you should always prioritize your fun before challenging yourself and so using all of these available tools is warranted and generally recommended by most players.
Hell yeah, I first got comfortable with the game when I realised I really liked the Holy ash of war. Reminded me feel of LoZ 'cause it shoots a little wave beam. I used that skill a lot. It helped me decide on and spec into a dex/faith build over the strength one I thought I wanted, but also I had attached the ash to a weapon that was kinda weak, so it forced me to look at other faith weapons and weapons I could attach the ashes to. Then came dual weilding with a secondary, faster weapon, and more exploration of skills, because eventually you either hit a roadblock or you get bored of doing the same old stuff. This dude is literally just at the start of his adventure. We can't judge him for using the best strats he currently has!
True, having fun is utmost priority for 1st playthrough. You can only do it once & it lasts in your long-term memory. Enjoy however you want, it's not about doing it right yet.
For that merchant shack you found you should definitely: 1. Choose the pastime option until nightfall. 2. Get up and then immediately rest at the site of Grace again. 3. Get up again and walk around, someone's now waiting for you.
I had some flashbacks from that thumbnail. My first run I just had to beat that guy because I was doing ok with the surrounding area so surely that boss wasn't supposed to be that hard, even tho all his attack oneshotted me 😮💨
Btw, when you are in first half Caelid, which is called...well, Caelid, then you are more on level. Shit starts getting overleveled when you head into the other half called Dragonbarrow. Also, with regards to moonveil and other weapons, You can't use the skill properly till you have the stats for it, and moonveil does have a unique version of unsheath which is what makes it good. You can see that its skill has a unique name.
Caelid is hell on earth. Also I do suggest giving the moonveil a try, its basically the same thing that you have including unsheathe, but the unsheathe skill is stronger. It builds up more bleed as well
So here's the complete, comprehensive tip rundown: 0. Blaidd is looking for the guy you killed in the evergaol who you thought was teleporting(blood hound's step. Beat a caelid boss for it) His goal was to kill the guy so either find him at the evergaol of speak to him again at the ruins. Ranni's quest is the next place you meet him, it's at the castle in the northernmost tip of liurnia. 1. Faith sort of falls off in the lategame, however 12 faith gives you access to a decent variety of incantations(buy 2finger seal at roundtable if lowlevel in faith). Int spells don't metiorite staff in caelid is best staff earlygame. Carian sorceries recommended. 2. Cross-naginata is sort of like a mix of spear and katana. It's one of the best weapons. Also has more reach than katana. 3. Moonveil is realy good so work your way towards it. It's ash is similar to unsheath but with range. 4. Smithing stones become purchasable once you find the right bell bearing, so don't worry about saving them up. 5. Dragonbarrow is highest level area in caelid. Easy 70k runes if you kill greyoll, jiant dragon who cant fight back. Bleed recommended. 6. Don't feel sorry for looking up dungeon (caves, catacombes and legacy) locations there are like 8 in limgrave alone. 7. Pickled fowl feet only last 3 minutes (you wasted it when fighting the dragonkin soldier) you can buy the gold one's recipie from patches. 8. Usual progression would be to go to liurnia before caelid since it's a lower level area (steer clear of lobsters they snipe), the legacy boss of the area lets you re-spec your character if you have larval tears. N.B. highly resistant to magic. 9. The big open area in caelid is the legacy boss arena. Scarlet rot breath from dragon communion will help. Can beat him using the arena's summons alone (seperate from your spirit summons) I hope this helps and wasn't too overwhelming. Have fun, don't worry about the haters they're in the minority. And perhaps a controversial take, but it's your first playthrough so don't worry too much about farming for runes or overleveling. Enjoy the game.😅😊
By the way my first playthrough I beat margit at level 51 in 8 tries and it took me 70 hours to get there. Coming off the same base as me, at least from my perspective, you're doing a phenomenal job.
Moonveil is absolutely worth upgrading your intelligence for, its a much better version of your current katana and arguably the best katana in the game
So the Walking Mausoleum (the huge bell monster with the mausoleum on top. You see it at 19:12 in the loading screen) that you killed allows you to duplicate a remembrance that you’ve had. But only 1 per mausoleum. So if you want that axe from Godrick, you can still get it from those
“When I started this game, it didn’t seem that big” was me every time I entered a new area of the game. Elden ring is so expansive! Another great video man!
@@springer124 nah you can still dupe it, but only once. "It also doesn't matter if you've already used the Remembrance, either to get the runes or in exchange for its boss weapon. As long as you received it from the boss, you have the option to duplicate it once." -PC Gamer I think it gets slightly confusing since a few mausoleum only dupe specific remembrances.
Bro was taking on the Godskin Apostle with the JELLYFISH, then fought the Bloodhound Knight as a confidence booster and absolutely STYLED on him with skills he has gathered. ER was my first Fromsoft game and BOI, that wasn't me lol
The person Blaidd the half-wolf asked you to find, you've already found and slain him. He was the guy that was teleporting around in the gael (the area where you touched the glowing circle on the ground). Btw you can get that ability, it is an AOW(ash of war) so you have to get rid of unsheathe. But you could always put it on a knife and switch to it when you need to escape as it provides more i-frames (invincibility frames).
So that massive pot guy with a three red summons is quite a challenge. You have to defeat all three red summons without dieing in order to unlock a new talisman. The biggest problem is that the red summons are all builds that other players have used and beaten that challenge with. There is an easy way to cheese it and win without fighting. The talisman you unlock is very good at least
@@just-gaming213 Like people haven't been telling him about where to find things already. Literally ep 3 people were telling him where to find the Flask of Wondrous Physick. Not to mention how people were telling him the "location" of moonveil just to lead him to a troll. So clearly he doesn't care

2:50 For a small piece of advice, Some enemy attacks can dismount you, but didn't actually kill Torrent. Thats what those arrows were doing. You could resummon torrent without consuming one of your flasks. Also, a Scarab's ball's colour will tell you what it drops; Red is health flasks Blue is FP/magic flasks Silver is Ashes of War White (hard to differentiate from silver) drop somber smithing stones, used to upgrade the less basic weapons of the world. Gold drops spells. Specifically Faith spells.
Man, I can´t emagine how stressful these troll comments must be. I´m pretty sure the people who wholeheartedly enjoy your vids outnumber the trolls massively. You seem to be a very authentic person and I appreciate that. Going for caves, catacombs and gaols is a good idea in my opinion. There are so many cool summons, ashes, stuff you need to upgrade, lore, weapons etc. in them. Helps with leveling up as a side effect. ;)
44:44 Fun Fact: Those flowers are actually crafting materials used to cause Sleep effects. So when you sneak around the sleeping bear to pick them... The bear wakes up.
The moonveil is crazy op, its ash of war is basically the unsheathed but it also shoots a projectile and it scales with magic. If you want to try it out then you’ll need to defeat the main boss in Liurnia (the lake region above limgrave) which will allow you to respec your stats if you get an item called a larval tear. Larval tears are pretty rare though, but if you need help finding some you can just look up a map of where to find them. Some enemies disguise themselves as weaker smaller enemies, and when you defeat them they’ll drop a larval tear. It’s pretty annoying to get them but it allows you to redistribute all your stats so it’s worth it.
moonveil requires more INT to use its AOW. moonveil is kinda crazy throughout the entire game so you might want it. also whenever you change your ash of war the one you currently have is NOT lost. they can be changed around however you want, the tutorial phrased it weirdly.
Absolutely loving this playthrough! Some more (spoiler free) tips here! -Moonveil: Since you are this far in the game and obtained the moonveil katana, this is a good time to introduce the concept of "builds" in elden ring. Most builds in elden ring spread their stats out between Vigor (the most important stat and the one that scales the best), one physical stat (Strength/ Dexterity) and one magical stat (Intelligence/ Faith/ Arcane*). The moonveil is a Dexterity/ Intelligence weapon with a VERY powerful ash of war (they nerfed this thing and its still one of the two best katanas in the game). =*Arcane is a physical AND magical stat. -With how you are currently playing, I suggest going for either a Dexterity/ Intelligence build (moonveil power, you can dual wield it with your current katana for more power, more about dual wielding below) or a Dexterity/ Arcane build (using 2 katanas that aren't the moonveil will give you insane bleed power). With a Dex/ Intelligence build most of your stats would be in Vigor, Dexterity, and Intelligence with some other levels sprinkled into endurance and whatever else you need to wield your weapons of choice. A Dex/ Arcane build would be the same except replacing Intelligence levels with Arcane. Try not to spread out your stats too much, otherwise you'll be weak in a lot of things instead of strong in a few things. -Power Stancing : Now that you have two of the same weapon, you can do power stancing. Power stancing is dual wielding the same weapon type in either hand. This opens up a unique and usually powerful moveset that still lets you use your ash of war in your main weapon hand. Light jump attacks while power stancing are particularily powerful. To use the powerstancing moveset, equip one of the same type of weapon in either hand (in this case, two katanas) then attack with the button you would use to attack with your off hand weapon. Same thing goes for the light jump attacks. (First note your damage will be much lower if you do not meet the stat requirements to wield both weapons -Stats in general can get complicated, so I'll make them simple here: =Vigor: Increases health. =Mind: Increases your blue bar =Endurance: Increases Stamina (and also equipment load which can make rolling with heavier gear easier) =Strength: Increases damage done with strength weapons (and makes you tougher with resistances to certain physical damage types and makes rolling with heavier gear easier.) =Dexterity: Increases damage done with dex weapons (and makes spells cast faster) =Intelligence: Increases damage done with Sorceries (and improves magic resistance) =Faith: Increases damage done with most Incantations =Arcane: Increases damage done with Arcane scaling weapons (and increases BLEED/ POISON/ SLEEP/ ????* BUILDUP as well as increases chance of items dropping from enemies) *Censored for spoilers ==It should be noted that some Incantations/ Spells break the Faith/ Intelligence/ Arcane rule, examine the spell in question for more information, though I doubt magic is something you are going to use. -Armor: Different armor gives you different effects, some of which are really dramatic. Make sure you read their descriptions! =Poise: Changes how likely you are to flinch or be interrupted when you are hit by an enemy. Higher poise means more resistance. =Resistance: Some armor is more resistant to or weak against slashing, piercing, strike, standard, and magic damage. =Effects: Some armor provides special effects like heavy resistance to status effects, or increases damage dealt with certain attacks. Cant wait for the next video. Enjoy your journey through the Lands Between!

Moonveil is a notoriously good weapon and is worth the investment imo. But because of its stat requirement and because it needs somber smithing stones, I would recommend putting levels into intelligence to use it (if you want to use it of course) at around mid game or when you have almost finished early game. For clarification, I consider liurnia, limgrave and caelid to be early game.

There’s more than one catalyst for spells. There’s a bunch of those sacred seals in game that have different stats and some even buff certain specific spells
I've watched many playthroughs of this game. This is currently my favorite one. Thank you for the edits my guy. Also, as a quick note: I personally like watching someone's full fight against a boss whenever they fight it. This dude is literally just at the start of his adventure. We can't judge him for using the best strats he currently has!
True, having fun is utmost priority for 1st playthrough. You can only do it once & it lasts in your long-term memory. Enjoy however you want, it's not about doing it right yet.
For that merchant shack you found you should definitely:
1. Choose the pastime option until nightfall.
2. Get up and then immediately rest at the site of Grace again.
3. Get up again and walk around, someone's now waiting for you.
Ahaha very funny
Yes it gives the best questline in the game

@@davobands Pain ahead.. maybe you'll like it
Each catacomb has a statue of Rosus nearby to point towards them. It’s a statue of a Skelton man hunched over
If it doesn’t light up it means you’ve already found the catacomb
They'll be along cliff edges or the highest point of the area, ofter both.
Godskin in the thumbnail you know whats gonna happen
It’s over for him 😂😂
I had some flashbacks from that thumbnail.
It builds up more bleed as well
So here's the complete, comprehensive tip rundown:
Can beat him using the arena's summons alone (seperate from your spirit summons)
I hope this helps and wasn't too overwhelming.
Coming off the same base as me, at least from my perspective, you're doing a phenomenal job.
bouta sit back and watch this like a movie
Moonveil is absolutely worth upgrading your intelligence for, its a much better version of your current katana and arguably the best katana in the game
There's something very satisfying about double uchis though.
Yeah. Transient moonlight pretty much is just like normal unsheathe except it releases a projectile wave that does a hell of a lot of damage.
Yeah, it’s good but it’s also like a button you can press to just win, sort of boring

@@robertwye9463 what’s your point
So the Walking Mausoleum (the huge bell monster with the mausoleum on top. You see it at 19:12 in the loading screen) that you killed allows you to duplicate a remembrance that you’ve had. But only 1 per mausoleum. So if you want that axe from Godrick, you can still get it from those
Gets this to the top so he sees
mausoleums with BELLS*
“When I started this game, it didn’t seem that big” was me every time I entered a new area of the game. Elden ring is so expansive! Another great video man!
The skill on the moonveil is basically long range unsheathe and it's great. Also, there's a lot of very good weapons that also require int.
Dont worry about selling the remembrance! You get multiple chances to copy remembrances, and can always get the weapons later.
Buddy that’s cap
@@springer124please explain how utilising the wandering mausoleums for their intended purpose is cap? 🤔
@@springer124 yeah you can literally duplicate remembrances, and failing that, there is always NG+
Well the thing is that if you use it, I don’t think you can multiply it
@@springer124 nah you can still dupe it, but only once.
"It also doesn't matter if you've already used the Remembrance, either to get the runes or in exchange for its boss weapon. As long as you received it from the boss, you have the option to duplicate it once." -PC Gamer
I think it gets slightly confusing since a few mausoleum only dupe specific remembrances.
NEW DAVO DROPPED 🗣🗣‼‼‼
Bro was taking on the Godskin Apostle with the JELLYFISH, then fought the Bloodhound Knight as a confidence booster and absolutely STYLED on him with skills he has gathered. ER was my first Fromsoft game and BOI, that wasn't me lol
No worries about the mic quality! We all know technical stuff happens. Your content is still great despite that. Keep up the good work!
My man Alexander is not only a Noble warrior, but also a professional spy, as show at 16:57
Darriwil is the bloodhound knight boss you fought, btw
Absolutely zero reason to tell him the reward is a good talisman. Just let the guy figure stuff out himself.
Pointless spoiler
@@just-gaming213 Like people haven't been telling him about where to find things already. Literally ep 3 people were telling him where to find the Flask of Wondrous Physick. Not to mention how people were telling him the "location" of moonveil just to lead him to a troll. So clearly he doesn't care
@@Sun_Donut and that makes it OK?
I can never understand the obsession with the souls community to tell blind players how to play the game, part of the charm of soulsgames is discovery, Davo is brand new and doesn't really know that yet so probably thinks these spoilers are all good.
I bet these nerds would be the first to say "I wish I could forget elden ring so I could play it again blind" but are happy backseating away like a total chuds.
@@just-gaming213 if he didn't want people to say where things are he would have said something. I didn't say what the talisman was or what affect it had. They didn't tell me what the meta was or hold my hand and it was still an unforgettable experience that I wouldn't change.
2:50 For a small piece of advice, Some enemy attacks can dismount you, but didn't actually kill Torrent. Thats what those arrows were doing. You could resummon torrent without consuming one of your flasks.
Also, a Scarab's ball's colour will tell you what it drops;
Red is health flasks
Blue is FP/magic flasks
Silver is Ashes of War
White (hard to differentiate from silver) drop somber smithing stones, used to upgrade the less basic weapons of the world.
Caelid got HANDS. Don't give up tho!
Hey man, you've been pumping out bangers lately. I've been looking forward to every episode. Keep up the good work bro
I'm genuinely tweaking without more davobands elden ring videos
(First note your damage will be much lower if you do not meet the stat requirements to wield both weapons
-Stats in general can get complicated, so I'll make them simple here:
=Vigor: Increases health.
=Mind: Increases your blue bar
=Endurance: Increases Stamina (and also equipment load which can make rolling with heavier gear easier)
=Strength: Increases damage done with strength weapons (and makes you tougher with resistances to certain physical damage types and makes rolling with heavier gear easier.)
=Dexterity: Increases damage done with dex weapons (and makes spells cast faster)
=Intelligence: Increases damage done with Sorceries (and improves magic resistance)
=Faith: Increases damage done with most Incantations
=Arcane: Increases damage done with Arcane scaling weapons (and increases BLEED/ POISON/ SLEEP/ ????* BUILDUP as well as increases chance of items dropping from enemies)
*Censored for spoilers
==It should be noted that some Incantations/ Spells break the Faith/ Intelligence/ Arcane rule, examine the spell in question for more information, though I doubt magic is something you are going to use.

You can duplicate remembrances with the giant walking turtle mausoleums. Also moonveil is very worth it.
