@@Columbine621Its both. Hes got invulnerability flags turned to on, which is a hack, and he has one of the dark bead meta builds. The reason they do it that way is because hacked builds get picked up easily by the anticheat but some characters flags dont get noticed by the anticheat

Seeing your reaction to the map design was awesome. I had the same kind of moment when I first played that game. And honestly, every game afterwards with bonfire fast travel hasn't quite felt the same. As much as I understand how much work it must be to make an interconnected semi-open map like this, it just cannot be beaten with fast-travel. It really makes you feel like you're traveling through the ruins of what was a functional world at some point.
Oh man. That elevator from the Parish to Firelink... I don't wanna lose the achievements I worked hard to get, but part of me wishes I could forget playing the entirety of the Souls series just so I can experience that feeling of simultaneously being relieved and mind-blown again when the sign for Firelink Shrine came up and the music started playing.
For strength weapons you can wield them with two hands if you divide the strenght needed with 1,5. so for Zweihander that needs 24 strength for wielding it in 1 hand only needs 16 strength for two handing 🙏🏻
yo first of all great video. About humanity ; If you use humanity you become human. As a human you can summon players and NPC. For example you could summon solaire (the sun guy) for the gargoyle fight. If you are human you can kindle a bonfirer and you will get 5 more flaks when you respawn at the bonfire or if you sit next to the bonfire. But only when you use the upgrade bonfire. Yiu have to upgrade all the bonfire individually. And one lil easter egg: Some bosses have tails. If you hit the tail you can cut it off and get a secret wapon. For example you clould cut the tail of the gargoyles off and get an axe. Ty for the amazing video and keep the grind up
Important tip: If you don't intend on using the online features for coop/pvp I strongly advise to set the game to offline mode. This is your first run and I would hate to see a cheater invade you and curse your character and break all your equipment (yes, this is possible). Setting the game to offline makes it so you cant coop/pvp with players but you can still summon npcs and be invaded by them. Tip2: At 57:35 you just skipped over homeward bones. An item that teleports you to the last bonfire you rested at. Also, after the initial animation you're invulnerable so you can even use it to escape from mobs or bosses. You probably already have a few but now you know who sells them. Tip3: Try talking to the firekeeper lady at firelink shrine Tip4: Parry is done by pressing L2 but not all shields can be used to parry. Usually smaller shields can and larger shields can't Tip5: you can use humanity to become human. While human you can spend extra humanityto kindle bonfires which makes them give you more healing flasks when you rest permanently At 12:50 that was not an NPC. You were invaded by another player. Whenever you become human, you are able to summon NPCs and/or other players to help you (you see summon signs on the ground usually near bosses) but you also are vulnerable to invaded by both NPCs and other players. That player seemed to be lagging and/or cheating (invulnerable and speed at the beggining when he showed up).

@@ZeallustImmortal what was fixed with the latest round of patches was the remote code execution exploit found around 2022 which was major security flaw for your entire pc. Instacurse and armor break have been happening since the games release so that wasnt the focus of the patches. I'm pretty sure this is still possible. Dark souls is a P2P game so you have full authority of your character client-side so you can send whatever you want to others. The same way you can set yourself to not take damage you can just say your attack did 9999 durability damage and break everything or 9999 curse buildup and instacurse. Edit: i could be wrong and maybe this was fixed as well, but for the reasons listed above i dont think that's the case.
Humanity does multiple things in Dark Souls. It increases your resistances, increases your Item Discovery (getting loot from enemies), allow you to summon people into your world, but also allow you to be invaded by other players. You can also use a Humanity at a bonfire to kindle it and increase the amount of flasks you get when you rest at THAT bonfire. The moment you rest at a different bonfire that’s not kindled, you only get 6
0:43 Davo to parry press L2, when the enemy is about to attack with an animation of their weapon coming towards you that is a good indicator to parry. Most basic mobs can be parried however most bosses can’t.
The feeling you got when you discovered the shortcut to firelink is the reason why not having warping to different bonfires isn't a bad thing. If you accidentally attack someone and they turn hostile you can calm them down at Oswald, the creepy T-posing guy who jump scared you after ringing the first bell. If you request absolutions it’s like using a celestial dew in Elden Ring and the person will go back to being peaceful
When buying items, there are other tabs to the right with more items, even key items sometimes. Both Andre and the other merchant you found last episode have key items for sale. One of them is a repair box, letting you repair equipment at bonfires ;)
the world of dark souls is interconnected and its amazing how it is now for some tips 1) you can use the fire keeper soul to reinforce your estus(heals) by giving it to a firekeeper theres one in firelink shrine down the stairs behind the big tree 2) if you dont have enough to wield a weapon you can two hand it and the stat reqs will be halfed 3)the master key can unlock some really good shortcuts so dont down play its value 4)you can unlock fast travel between bonefires in the mid game after a certain boss 5)the souls iems you pick up just like in 11:46 you can use them to get more souls and level up keep up the good work and good luck with blighttown
Kindling gives the bonfire you're doing it at a permanent +5 estus flasks. You can go to 10 on every bonfire if you have the humanity for it. Firelink shrine already has 10 flasks because there's a firekeeper there. Other firekeeper bonfires you'll find have 10 flasks to start out as well. You can find an item later that allows you to kindle to up to 20 estus. Kindling even stays with a bonfire through NG+. When another online player kindles, sometimes you get an extra estus at random, which is what happened when it gave you the 11th flask in the last episode. Similar thing to the bell ringing.
Reversing hollowing enables multiplayer features. It also enables you to be invaped by NPCs and summon NPCs for certain fights. You can get some decent weapons from the NPC invaders.
oh! one more tip if I may... get yourself a bow and 20 standard arrows, get enough dex to use it, go under the drake bridge and aim for the tail. Always go for the tail or... I suppose you could just shoot him once while standing on the bridge and fight him head on. Just make sure you cut that tail. Always cut dragon tails of boss enemies.
Also Davo another thing. When you rolled off the elevator to get all those chests you can roll onto a platform arch that leads up. This is a secret which leads to good things

had the dark souls trilogy in my library for a while, finally started ds1 because you started it. from one player to another, the game is pretty archaic, but dont let it deceive you. im telling you now, you should take advantage of most of these bosses low speed, they tend to leave their backs and sides exposed. As for enemies, it may be a chore, but killing them might help later. enemies like the big guy with the shield or the one dude casting spells before gargoyles will be permanently killed off. Anyway, good luck with the game, you got this bro!
You made quick work of those 2 gargoyles. I remember my frist time. I died atleast 20x. I just beat the game last month, including the DLC. This is a gaming experience I will never forget.
A lot of your gripes seem to be with the speed of your weapon. You might want to find a faster swinging dex weapon, my recommendation is the estoc, or get an even larger strength weapon with great range. Good luck with the later portions.
A bit of explanation on humanity: As you learned, after you become human, you can kindle a bonfire to have more estus. Each kindling will give you 5 more flasks and each bonfire needs to be kindled separately. Also there is a neat online mechanic where you gain one more temporal estus every time another player kindles the same bonfire you last rested at. PS: In terms of combat as you said, it is much more jankier than ER for obvious reasons, but playing unlocked and using spacing and running attacks gives you the advantage. You have the Claymore and the Zweihander now, 2 of the top weapons in the game, you should give them a try
one thing I havent seen anyone mention yet is that when youre locked on you can only roll in 4 directions- forward, backward, left and right- if you want more precise rolls you need to free cam. sorry if someone else has commented this but i noticed you rolling right into the gargoyle fire twice and thought it would be a good tip
Btw some boss souls you get from beating bosses can be turned into cool weapons the boss used. You have to upgrade to +10 based on a specific TYPE of weapon depending on what you want (for example, if a boss uses a spear, you have to max upgrade a regular spear to transform it)
That's not quite right. The same message is shown with stats other than strength, which aren't increased by two-handing. The correct way to explain this mechanic is that your character's strength is increased by 50% while two-handing, meaning if you have 18 strength, you can wield a weapon requiring 27 strength by using two-hands, even if you get a warning when first equipping said weapon.
Yay!!! Gargoyles down! You didn't give up and I'm so happy I get to watch more of this wonderful series. A few more things ellie did to survive dark souls remastered... the claymore is an absolute monster if you level strength and dex to equal levels (dex is the hand symbol). It's the best quality build weapon in the game imo. The zweihander is an absolute beast of a strength weapon if you can deal with the swing animation (Personally I find it a bit slow and prefer other weapons). Bleed is killer in this game just like in elden ring. Use it if you get the chance especially against unarmored enemies like the fleshy jiggly booty of the asylum demon you fought. The bonfire under the drake/dragon does serve a purpose... if you either level your faith to 25 or help 5 people in jolly co-operation in their worlds the broken statue becomes activated. I do have one very important tip and I hope you figure it out because I'm going to be kinda vague... the elevator that took you back to firelink shrine as you saw has that ledge you can walk off onto before you reach the bottom floor. You can walk around that ledge onto the grassy area and you chose to drop down... next time try rolling onto the nearest pillar across the grassy rock ledge. you'll see stairs and an item on a roof nearby, grab the item by jumping over then jump back and go up the stairs and become egg and wait for mom. It's time to go home
The Soul items in your inventory give you souls (currency) when you use them. Nice when you need a little bit to level up or buy/upgrade gear. Speaking of which, you can buy a Repairbox from Andre or the Undead guy in Undead Burg to repair your gear at bonfires. Durability worries gone. I'd recommend slowing down a bit, youre missing a lot (for example that door back to the Undead Burg bonfire) and making the game harder by speeding through everything, not fighting enemies enough to learn their patterns, not reading item descriptions, and not reading the orange signs on the floor. Definitely focus on upgrading your weapon as much as you can, extra damage letting you 1shot or 2shot trash mobs instead of 4-6shotting them is so valuable. Boss health is gonna increase drastically, fast, so youll need the damage soon. Awesome video, youre hilarious, cant wait to watch more of this series!!

Just a random tip to get an awesome sword from the Dragon on the bridge. If you go under the bridge and shoot the dragon's tail enough times, it will fall off and give you a weapon. Cheers!
The durability resets upon resting at a bonfire and humanity is for more estus flasks. When you reverse hollowing using humanity, you can then use another one to kindle the flame of one specific bonfire and have 5 more flasks when you rest at that specific bonfire. Just finished watching and realized you figured it out lol
Fun fact: if you take the time and shoot the tail of the "red bridge dragon" enough times with a crossbow/bow, you get a unique "One of a kind" dragon sword; that slaps.
Okay, since I haven't seen anyone else mention it, I will. Any large enemy with a tail is likely to drop a unique weapon if you chop their tail OFF. All you have to do to accomplish this is to get behind them and focus your attacks on the tail. The first Bell Gargoyle is one such enemy, but even though you missed this chance, there's another one with a tail to chop that you'll find later.
Hi davo been watching you since you started your elden ring content, love the vids. Tip: A fair amount of enemies or bosses that have tails can be cut off or shot off with a bow to give you a secret weapon, this usually applies to dragons.
A lot of big strong enemies dont respawn. Notice the tower knight in the chapel never respawned, its usually worth taking out the big enemies to at least see if they wont respawn. Can make runbacks a LOT easier.

The Zweihander and the Claymore are some of the most op early game weapons. I know many people including my self that finished the entire game with these
Zweihander is lowkey the best weapon in the game. There is an infamous PVP build that works using an Chaos zweihander that gets a damage boost from the amount of humanity you have stored in the top left. You can farm it super easy in the late game. For rn a lightning or Standard Zweihander will carry you through the game. Lightning for high base damage with no stat investment and standard for scaling with both STR and DEX which will outperform the lightning ascencion plus you can access it earlier. If you're struggling stamina wise theres a green sheild called the Grass Crest Shiled you can equip that boosts Stamina Regen found in Darkroot Basin which the area below and to the right of the forest section beneith where Andre the Smith is just past the Lightning Weilding Titanite Demon
Davo, being a human/reverse hollowing allows you to not only summon actual players, but to summon npcs. Especially near certain bosses where you’ll see golden yellow summon signs instead of the regular white. Also make sure to upgrade your weapons whenever you can, trust me the damage skyrockets. And finally, the entire world of darks souls 1 is connected one way or another. Everything having one or two paths connected with other areas. Fire link shrine especially as by itself it’s connected to Undead burg, the catacombs, undead parish, new lando ruins, The valley of drakes, and Blighttown. Plus you can see multiple areas through the other areas like from fire link shrine if you look down you can see the slight glimpse of Blightown.
ahh yeah that invader was a hacker. DS1 has issues with that because of how old the game is. i do suggest playing offline because there are hackers who can basically destroy your character. also a tip with the gargoyles (at least from my own experience): you can dock their tail to get a weapon, and sprinting away from them both to try to get one to spam fire while the other separates from the 'pack' to come after you is how i did it. also remember to repair your weapons and armour! they have durability and you can repair stuff at a blacksmith (later you can repair your stuff by yourself at a bonfire once you buy a tool for it)
Davo quick tip! Most Elite enemies do not respawn. That blue dancer enemy only needs to be killed once and it makes going through there a million times easier! Keep up the great work! P.S. the zweihander slaps in this game
Third comment I know you’ve played elden ring and it’s dlc which btw props on beating star consort Radahn that’s quite the difficult boss I’d actually say he’s the hardest boss in souls game of all time. But if you wanna feel POWERFULL get the Zweilhander at the cemetery in firelink shrine it is a huge strength weapon but you can two hand it I think at like strength 18 or so. And if you don’t wanna go back to firelink shrine you can upgrade strength and use the claymore with lighting for a huge boost in damage too most enemies before Sens fortress. (Also good luck with Sens fortress)

A good pro tip is that its almost always better to not lock on to bosses so you can roll in every direction like in elden ring instead of in only 4 directions.
small tip, i would recommend trying fighting with no lock on to see if you prefer it, you can only roll in 4 while locked on so it makes fighting a little awkward
12:33 The knight shield is worse than your shield in pretty much any way. The blue number you are looking at is the shield's attack damage. Like if you were to put it in your right hand and use it as a weapon.
Just like Elden Ring, if you don't meet the stat requirement to use a weapon you can just two-hand it to compensate until you meet them. For the claymore, you need 16 in strength and 10 in Dex so it should be too hard. I highly recommend that particular weapon for a good "starter" weapon. Very strong in early to mid game.
You should try experimenting with certain enemies/bosses whether or not to lock on or not. When locked on you can only roll in 4 directions; forward backwards left right . When unlocked you can roll to all directions in between like top right top left etc...
there are lot of good skills in dark souls game almost never tell you. -parry(L2) -backstab( go to enemy back and R1, strafe to one side while enemy is in attack motion, if you are holding up the shield it won’t work. ppl use this lot because it does huge damage, and also while the backstab animation you are invulnerable.) -counter damage( with thrust attack weapons while enemy is attacking if you attack at the same time you can do extra damage) -instability damage( if opponent is in certain action it count as instability state and takes extra damage, end of roll, mid jump, mid running, this is usually used against players, so certain boss won’t one shot you if you stand still, but if you are running you will take extra damage and get one shot) -perfect block(i still don’t know how to do it) -kick (forward movement with r1, you have to perfectly match the timing. when enemy is holding the shield it will drain enemy stamina a lot that they will drop the shield) -shield poke(while holding block with shield press r1 with thrusting weapon or spear. tbh it isn’t really good, uses lot of stamina) -shield stamina management( if you hold the shield up your stamina recovery will be really slow, so block and put down you shield for sec then hold again to block) -phantom hit( i just call it phantom hit, but there probably other terms, anyway if you are attacking the enemy but facing backwards the hit will go through shields. it is a hard technic, you can use wide sweeping attack weapon, and unlock, attack and quick pivot to face the camera. you can also do it with certain magics) -store dash (if you hold running button before you move, and move to direction you will instantly run) -running dodge(up to dark souls 3, you can out run almost every attack if you are in running state.) -jump attack(forward movement + r2, same as kick but with r2. also this attack is unparriable, and doesn’t bounce off shield or hard armor) -toggle escape( as the moment you get hit if you toggle your weapon, you won’t get stunned). -poise.. (i forgot all the breaking point for poise… anyway get some poise, or it will be really annoying) -also all fromsoft game if you two hand the weapon your strength count as 1.5 times of current stat. these are just skills i remember on top of my head.
Honestly considering the way you go about playing the game and since you've played elden ring first i'd honestly recommend just removing your shield and going balls out with exclusively two-handing your weapons while also maintaining a light load for more s and faster dodging since you're actually using the elden ring equivelant of heavy rolling through the game right now lmao
In DS1 you can actually just kind walk around a lot of attacks and save your dodge roll for when you really need it. Next time you play, when you see a lower level enemy attack, try walking back or two the left or right and they just kinda miss most of the time, no dodging required.

When you reverse humanity good idea to pop another humanity consumable and also kindle the bonfire for 5 more Estus. You can only summon players or NPC help while in human form but you can also get invaded by players or NPCs if the area boss is not defeated so the human the MP mode. You are supposed to go take cover to the left side of the bridge so the dragon sees you, wait around 20 seconds and he comes down to you and run past. But likely shooting him also causes him to come down. Forward+light attack does a"kick" can be used to kick enemies shield away and then attack. Forward+heavy attack is a jumping attack that does deal more damage but you take more damage if hit while in the air. L2 with a shield can parry and you can follow with a riposte that deals very high damage. Not all enemy attacks can be parried and the great shield class can not parry. Some shields have more parry frames than others like the parry shield. Enemies that are considered sub-bosses do not respawn once killed. The alluring skull can be used to lure the boar into the fire or into a position where you can perform a lunge attack on him that will deal very high dmg maybe even a 1hit kill.
Its so funny how he calls the souls ‘runes’, because I and many other souls players did the oposite thing when Elden Ring came out. It took me 6+ mounths to stop calling runes ‘souls’ and sites of grace ‘bondfires’😂. Its pretty wholesome❤

Whenever you become human, you are able to summon NPCs and/or other players to help you (you see summon signs on the ground usually near bosses) but you also are vulnerable to invaded by both NPCs and other players. That player seemed to be lagging and/or cheating (invulnerable and speed at the beggining when he showed up).
A ton of help in this comment and I appreciate that a ton… that hackers bricking my character thing is ridiculous, imma have to turn that off ngl. Thanks for the tip

@@ZeallustImmortal what was fixed with the latest round of patches was the remote code execution exploit found around 2022 which was major security flaw for your entire pc. Instacurse and armor break have been happening since the games release so that wasnt the focus of the patches. I'm pretty sure this is still possible. Dark souls is a P2P game so you have full authority of your character client-side so you can send whatever you want to others. The same way you can set yourself to not take damage you can just say your attack did 9999 durability damage and break everything or 9999 curse buildup and instacurse.
Edit: i could be wrong and maybe this was fixed as well, but for the reasons listed above i dont think that's the case.

Humanity does multiple things in Dark Souls. It increases your resistances, increases your Item Discovery (getting loot from enemies), allow you to summon people into your world, but also allow you to be invaded by other players. You can also use a Humanity at a bonfire to kindle it and increase the amount of flasks you get when you rest at THAT bonfire. The moment you rest at a different bonfire that’s not kindled, you only get 6

0:43 Davo to parry press L2, when the enemy is about to attack with an animation of their weapon coming towards you that is a good indicator to parry. Most basic mobs can be parried however most bosses can’t.

When buying items, there are other tabs to the right with more items, even key items sometimes.
Both Andre and the other merchant you found last episode have key items for sale. One of them is a repair box, letting you repair equipment at bonfires ;)

the world of dark souls is interconnected and its amazing how it is now for some tips
1) you can use the fire keeper soul to reinforce your estus(heals) by giving it to a firekeeper theres one in firelink shrine down the stairs behind the big tree
2) if you dont have enough to wield a weapon you can two hand it and the stat reqs will be halfed
3)the master key can unlock some really good shortcuts so dont down play its value
4)you can unlock fast travel between bonefires in the mid game after a certain boss
5)the souls iems you pick up just like in 11:46 you can use them to get more souls and level up

Kindling gives the bonfire you're doing it at a permanent +5 estus flasks. You can go to 10 on every bonfire if you have the humanity for it. Firelink shrine already has 10 flasks because there's a firekeeper there. Other firekeeper bonfires you'll find have 10 flasks to start out as well. You can find an item later that allows you to kindle to up to 20 estus. Kindling even stays with a bonfire through NG+.
When another online player kindles, sometimes you get an extra estus at random, which is what happened when it gave you the 11th flask in the last episode. Similar thing to the bell ringing.

Reversing hollowing enables multiplayer features. It also enables you to be invaped by NPCs and summon NPCs for certain fights. You can get some decent weapons from the NPC invaders.
oh! one more tip if I may... get yourself a bow and 20 standard arrows, get enough dex to use it, go under the drake bridge and aim for the tail. Always go for the tail or... I suppose you could just shoot him once while standing on the bridge and fight him head on. Just make sure you cut that tail. Always cut dragon tails of boss enemies.
Also Davo another thing. When you rolled off the elevator to get all those chests you can roll onto a platform arch that leads up. This is a secret which leads to good things

had the dark souls trilogy in my library for a while, finally started ds1 because you started it.
from one player to another, the game is pretty archaic, but dont let it deceive you. im telling you now, you should take advantage of most of these bosses low speed, they tend to leave their backs and sides exposed.
As for enemies, it may be a chore, but killing them might help later. enemies like the big guy with the shield or the one dude casting spells before gargoyles will be permanently killed off.

Btw, parrying and backstabbing are very rewarding when it comes to dealing damage
A lot of your gripes seem to be with the speed of your weapon. You might want to find a faster swinging dex weapon, my recommendation is the estoc, or get an even larger strength weapon with great range. Good luck with the later portions.
A bit of explanation on humanity:
As you learned, after you become human, you can kindle a bonfire to have more estus. Each kindling will give you 5 more flasks and each bonfire needs to be kindled separately.
Also there is a neat online mechanic where you gain one more temporal estus every time another player kindles the same bonfire you last rested at.
PS: In terms of combat as you said, it is much more jankier than ER for obvious reasons, but playing unlocked and using spacing and running attacks gives you the advantage. You have the Claymore and the Zweihander now, 2 of the top weapons in the game, you should give them a try
He actually got one of those "temporal" estus flasks in the first video right after he got to firelink. He didnt realize it though.

Btw some boss souls you get from beating bosses can be turned into cool weapons the boss used. You have to upgrade to +10 based on a specific TYPE of weapon depending on what you want (for example, if a boss uses a spear, you have to max upgrade a regular spear to transform it)
when it says "you cannot use this weapon effectively" it means you can only two hand it but you cant 1 hand it
That's not quite right. The same message is shown with stats other than strength, which aren't increased by two-handing.
The correct way to explain this mechanic is that your character's strength is increased by 50% while two-handing, meaning if you have 18 strength, you can wield a weapon requiring 27 strength by using two-hands, even if you get a warning when first equipping said weapon.

Yay!!! Gargoyles down! You didn't give up and I'm so happy I get to watch more of this wonderful series. A few more things ellie did to survive dark souls remastered... the claymore is an absolute monster if you level strength and dex to equal levels (dex is the hand symbol). It's the best quality build weapon in the game imo. The zweihander is an absolute beast of a strength weapon if you can deal with the swing animation (Personally I find it a bit slow and prefer other weapons). Bleed is killer in this game just like in elden ring. Use it if you get the chance especially against unarmored enemies like the fleshy jiggly booty of the asylum demon you fought. The bonfire under the drake/dragon does serve a purpose... if you either level your faith to 25 or help 5 people in jolly co-operation in their worlds the broken statue becomes activated. I do have one very important tip and I hope you figure it out because I'm going to be kinda vague... the elevator that took you back to firelink shrine as you saw has that ledge you can walk off onto before you reach the bottom floor. You can walk around that ledge onto the grassy area and you chose to drop down... next time try rolling onto the nearest pillar across the grassy rock ledge. you'll see stairs and an item on a roof nearby, grab the item by jumping over then jump back and go up the stairs and become egg and wait for mom. It's time to go home

The Soul items in your inventory give you souls (currency) when you use them. Nice when you need a little bit to level up or buy/upgrade gear. Speaking of which, you can buy a Repairbox from Andre or the Undead guy in Undead Burg to repair your gear at bonfires. Durability worries gone.
I'd recommend slowing down a bit, youre missing a lot (for example that door back to the Undead Burg bonfire) and making the game harder by speeding through everything, not fighting enemies enough to learn their patterns, not reading item descriptions, and not reading the orange signs on the floor.
Definitely focus on upgrading your weapon as much as you can, extra damage letting you 1shot or 2shot trash mobs instead of 4-6shotting them is so valuable. Boss health is gonna increase drastically, fast, so youll need the damage soon.

The durability resets upon resting at a bonfire and humanity is for more estus flasks. When you reverse hollowing using humanity, you can then use another one to kindle the flame of one specific bonfire and have 5 more flasks when you rest at that specific bonfire.

Fun fact: if you take the time and shoot the tail of the "red bridge dragon" enough times with a crossbow/bow, you get a unique "One of a kind" dragon sword; that slaps.

Okay, since I haven't seen anyone else mention it, I will.
Any large enemy with a tail is likely to drop a unique weapon if you chop their tail OFF. All you have to do to accomplish this is to get behind them and focus your attacks on the tail.
The first Bell Gargoyle is one such enemy, but even though you missed this chance, there's another one with a tail to chop that you'll find later.
Hi davo been watching you since you started your elden ring content, love the vids.
Tip: A fair amount of enemies or bosses that have tails can be cut off or shot off with a bow to give you a secret weapon, this usually applies to dragons.
A lot of big strong enemies dont respawn. Notice the tower knight in the chapel never respawned, its usually worth taking out the big enemies to at least see if they wont respawn. Can make runbacks a LOT easier.
Little tip
You need 24 points of strenght to wield zweihander but if you wield it in both hands you just need 3/4 of strenght (18 points)

Quick Tip: When you find a big boy strength weapon like the Claymore or Zweihander, try two handing, it may allow you to use it, since two hand buffs your STR stat, while the hand is DEX

Zweihander is lowkey the best weapon in the game. There is an infamous PVP build that works using an Chaos zweihander that gets a damage boost from the amount of humanity you have stored in the top left. You can farm it super easy in the late game. For rn a lightning or Standard Zweihander will carry you through the game. Lightning for high base damage with no stat investment and standard for scaling with both STR and DEX which will outperform the lightning ascencion plus you can access it earlier.
If you're struggling stamina wise theres a green sheild called the Grass Crest Shiled you can equip that boosts Stamina Regen found in Darkroot Basin which the area below and to the right of the forest section beneith where Andre the Smith is just past the Lightning Weilding Titanite Demon
The accomplishment was real , bring me to the good old days when i just discovered Demon souls 2009
Davo, being a human/reverse hollowing allows you to not only summon actual players, but to summon npcs. Especially near certain bosses where you’ll see golden yellow summon signs instead of the regular white.
Also make sure to upgrade your weapons whenever you can, trust me the damage skyrockets.
And finally, the entire world of darks souls 1 is connected one way or another. Everything having one or two paths connected with other areas.
Fire link shrine especially as by itself it’s connected to Undead burg, the catacombs, undead parish, new lando ruins, The valley of drakes, and Blighttown. Plus you can see multiple areas through the other areas like from fire link shrine if you look down you can see the slight glimpse of Blightown.

ahh yeah that invader was a hacker. DS1 has issues with that because of how old the game is. i do suggest playing offline because there are hackers who can basically destroy your character. also a tip with the gargoyles (at least from my own experience): you can dock their tail to get a weapon, and sprinting away from them both to try to get one to spam fire while the other separates from the 'pack' to come after you is how i did it. also remember to repair your weapons and armour! they have durability and you can repair stuff at a blacksmith (later you can repair your stuff by yourself at a bonfire once you buy a tool for it)
Davo quick tip! Most Elite enemies do not respawn. That blue dancer enemy only needs to be killed once and it makes going through there a million times easier! Keep up the great work!
P.S. the zweihander slaps in this game
Third comment I know you’ve played elden ring and it’s dlc which btw props on beating star consort Radahn that’s quite the difficult boss I’d actually say he’s the hardest boss in souls game of all time. But if you wanna feel POWERFULL get the Zweilhander at the cemetery in firelink shrine it is a huge strength weapon but you can two hand it I think at like strength 18 or so. And if you don’t wanna go back to firelink shrine you can upgrade strength and use the claymore with lighting for a huge boost in damage too most enemies before Sens fortress. (Also good luck with Sens fortress)

When you reverse hollowing and get your human form you open yourself to pvp but also allow special enemies to spawn and get some unique loot.
A good pro tip is that its almost always better to not lock on to bosses so you can roll in every direction like in elden ring instead of in only 4 directions.
small tip, i would recommend trying fighting with no lock on to see if you prefer it, you can only roll in 4 while locked on so it makes fighting a little awkward

Just like Elden Ring, if you don't meet the stat requirement to use a weapon you can just two-hand it to compensate until you meet them.
For the claymore, you need 16 in strength and 10 in Dex so it should be too hard.
I highly recommend that particular weapon for a good "starter" weapon. Very strong in early to mid game.

You should try experimenting with certain enemies/bosses whether or not to lock on or not. When locked on you can only roll in 4 directions; forward backwards left right . When unlocked you can roll to all directions in between like top right top left etc...
there are lot of good skills in dark souls game almost never tell you.
-parry(L2)
-backstab( go to enemy back and R1, strafe to one side while enemy is in attack motion, if you are holding up the shield it won’t work. ppl use this lot because it does huge damage, and also while the backstab animation you are invulnerable.)
-counter damage( with thrust attack weapons while enemy is attacking if you attack at the same time you can do extra damage)
-instability damage( if opponent is in certain action it count as instability state and takes extra damage, end of roll, mid jump, mid running, this is usually used against players, so certain boss won’t one shot you if you stand still, but if you are running you will take extra damage and get one shot)
-perfect block(i still don’t know how to do it)
-kick (forward movement with r1, you have to perfectly match the timing. when enemy is holding the shield it will drain enemy stamina a lot that they will drop the shield)
-shield poke(while holding block with shield press r1 with thrusting weapon or spear. tbh it isn’t really good, uses lot of stamina)
-shield stamina management( if you hold the shield up your stamina recovery will be really slow, so block and put down you shield for sec then hold again to block)
-phantom hit( i just call it phantom hit, but there probably other terms, anyway if you are attacking the enemy but facing backwards the hit will go through shields. it is a hard technic, you can use wide sweeping attack weapon, and unlock, attack and quick pivot to face the camera. you can also do it with certain magics)
-store dash (if you hold running button before you move, and move to direction you will instantly run)
-running dodge(up to dark souls 3, you can out run almost every attack if you are in running state.)
-jump attack(forward movement + r2, same as kick but with r2. also this attack is unparriable, and doesn’t bounce off shield or hard armor)
-toggle escape( as the moment you get hit if you toggle your weapon, you won’t get stunned).
-poise.. (i forgot all the breaking point for poise… anyway get some poise, or it will be really annoying)
-also all fromsoft game if you two hand the weapon your strength count as 1.5 times of current stat.
these are just skills i remember on top of my head.
Also, you can cut tails of bosses to get special weapons

Honestly considering the way you go about playing the game and since you've played elden ring first i'd honestly recommend just removing your shield and going balls out with exclusively two-handing your weapons while also maintaining a light load for more s and faster dodging since you're actually using the elden ring equivelant of heavy rolling through the game right now lmao
In DS1 you can actually just kind walk around a lot of attacks and save your dodge roll for when you really need it. Next time you play, when you see a lower level enemy attack, try walking back or two the left or right and they just kinda miss most of the time, no dodging required.

When you reverse humanity good idea to pop another humanity consumable and also kindle the bonfire for 5 more Estus.
You can only summon players or NPC help while in human form but you can also get invaded by players or NPCs if the area boss is not defeated so the human the MP mode.
You are supposed to go take cover to the left side of the bridge so the dragon sees you, wait around 20 seconds and he comes down to you and run past.
But likely shooting him also causes him to come down.
Forward+light attack does a"kick" can be used to kick enemies shield away and then attack.
Forward+heavy attack is a jumping attack that does deal more damage but you take more damage if hit while in the air.
L2 with a shield can parry and you can follow with a riposte that deals very high damage.
Not all enemy attacks can be parried and the great shield class can not parry.
Some shields have more parry frames than others like the parry shield.
Enemies that are considered sub-bosses do not respawn once killed.
The alluring skull can be used to lure the boar into the fire or into a position where you can perform a lunge attack on him that will deal very high dmg maybe even a 1hit kill.
