This is fantastic! I have a few pretty big custom diamond paintings with irregular sizing and was looking into building my own frames but this is super cheap and simple but still looks great. Exactly what I needeed!
Nice Job ! Living with my best friend, she is constantly working on diamond art. So now we are trying to come up with an affordable way to mount and hang them. I like what you've done, and I think it is accessible. Thank you very much.
I know this was 3 years ago, but I just came across it looking for alternatives to framing my diamond paintings, and it's awesome, even 3 years later! 😅
Foam core! Genius! I found you by way of Diamond Painting with Grace. I'm enjoying your older videos. I learn a lot by seeing what others learned early on as well. :) Thanks for sharing this great idea!
On my current dp i mounted it first and it's so much easier to work on a steady surface. I can even work on it while holding it up. Makes it easier on my eyes and i don't have to sit at a table. Probably wouldn't be a easy on a big one but i still like them mounted before hand.
I so glad I found your tutorial for mounting your diamond paintings. I have several finished and you way for mounting diamond paintings is the best so far. Thank you for sharing your great idea. I'm a new subscriber.
I also got a cool idea for a colorful border using duct tape border that can be found at Hobby Lobby it's very colorful and it really makes the picture pop
Love this idea! This is also a great way to mount your canvas prior to framing (if one wants to frame it), as it shows the foam core as a matte. Thanks for sharing Bev!💜
Hi. For you utility knife.....just extend the blade so you an see a line on the blade. Using a pair of pliers just snap off the top. Use safety glasses. Good luck. Try it. Love your video.
Love this!! Exactly what I was looking for Thank you so much for doing your video and sharing. I also love leaving some of the foam core to show as a matt. I'm excited to try this. Have 5 diamond paintings done and ready for this treatment. Yay
I'm new to your channel. I just watched your video great idea but I saw you was missing a drill on the cats face it was a R drill. I don't think you saw it
I look to buy some online but I have no idea how thick it needs to be. Could you tell me what is the thickness of your foam core and is it the same as foam board which is what I'm finding on Amazon?
Hey! I just went and measured, it was about 5cm thick (I'm Canadian so I don't know what that is in inches lol). I think anything thicker than that should be fine? I bought mine from the local dollar store, it's most commonly used by kids for science fair displays haha I hope that at least sort of helps!
I've been trying to watch and read up on different techniques. This one seems great for smaller works of art. I don't know how I noticed this but you are missing a diamond (symbol -R-) by the cat's whisker.
I think for anyone that does this on a regular basis should invest in a fabric cutter wheel. This will be so much easier than scissors or xacto knives. Other than that, its a great idea!
Take a damp, not wet or dripping, cloth that isn’t fuzzy and wipe over the mod podge after you’ve covered your painting. If you see air bubbles keep wiping or use a hair dryer to get rid of them. The mod podge will still be in between the diamonds and should still keep them in place and give you that sparkle. Should work for any sealant you choose.

This is the BEST low cost solution I've seen so far. I've been doing diamond art for several years now. I love how it also gives the fabric stability.
Happy it was helpful!
You can use fine sand paper to clean up your edges. Works wonderful. Thanks for the mounting idea.

Yesss! Just make sure your knife is really sharp! :P
Thank you for sharing this tip! I think I'd prefer this to trying to frame one.
It works well with small DPs but not so much larger ones haha
I am a new sub. I just started diamond dots art and I’m so into it! I made an owl. Thanks for showing how to put them onto foam board etc
Aw thanks and welcome Allison!
I am just seeing this video now and I think this is genius!!! I will be trying this for sure. ❤

I just watched your video great idea but I saw you was missing a drill on the cats face it was a R drill. I don't think you saw it
Thanks for letting me know! I didn't even realize it until someone else pointed it out!
Oh ok cause I looked through the comments and didn't see anyone say anything but might not have went back far enough to see that comment

Thank you will try!
hope it works well for you!
I use a Quilters ruler and a Quilters cutting wheel😊
Great idea!

LOL I didn't even notice but thanks for letting me know haha I don't know where this diamond painting even is anymore 😂

Great idea. I forgot that it’s actually fabric. I get so busy with the drills.
Great idea
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I like this method, so easy(sort of LOL). Could you point me to the source of that adorable cat? I love that one, thanks!
Hey! I believe it's from Fansells? I'm not sure, i got it a super long time ago, sorry!
Thanks! I found it on Amazon.
Awesome idea. Definitely gonna do it.
What glue did you use to seal it?
It's very affordable! :) I used Mod Podge Gloss to seal it, but other use Min Wax etc
Hi how did you cut the white edge off
I ended up doing it with scissors
ehats the size😊 of your canvas?
I don't remember, I think probably 30x40cm?
When using the modge podge does that take the sparkle or glitter effect away
If you dilute it with water it will not! :)
@@BevBee I noticed that Hobby Lobby and Michael's have a Modge Podge Sparkle finish so I'm thinking about picking that up
@@gloriagiefer3013 That’s what I use. One can never have too much sparkle, in my opinion. ❤️🇨🇦
Use a ruler to guide the knife
Thank you
You're welcome!
I used glossy mod podge and it took away the sparkle of the diamonds. Everyone else have this issue?
I haven't had that issue. You can always try Min Wax!

Did the moisture of the glue have any affect on the foam board? I know moisture can cause warping.
No effect! It stayed straight and stiff as it came 😊
Fantastic 👍🇨🇦
Just glue a piece of picture hanging wire on back and its ready to hang!
That's so smart, thanks for the idea Judi!
I couldn't do a how to video. Would be constantly swearing 😂
that's why i edit my videos hahahaha
🔥 ❤️
Really ? :)
Very inexpensive way to display your paintings if you don’t want to protect them from dust under glass.
Exactly!
The sealing makes it easier to wipe the surface down and not have in between the dots be dusty.
Great idea
Thanks Kim!
Great video! Thank you!
Thanks for watching Vangie! xo
