I've just ordered the T248. I've used a Hori Overdrive for wayy too long, and now that it finally broke, I decided it's time to get the best looking wheel of all
Man I just have to say that was a really well composed video, I liked the way I could just watch the whole device being used the entire time, while you go clearly through each of your points, both verbally and graphically. As somebody thinking seriously of getting this wheel it was very informative and enjoyable. Nice one.
Probably gonna get one tomorrow as a lil christmas gift for myself. I have an old and worn T150 that also happens to be the notchiest wheel known to man (my first T150 was not as bad as my current one) and T3PA pedals that are dying after like 6 years of use. I would get something like a Moza R3/R5 or a T300, but they're nearly double the price (250€ vs 400€-500€) and as a broke-ish student, I don't feel like spending that much for a wheel I'll only be using for ETS2 and BeamNG. I also HATE the Moza pedals. I'll post an update here with my experience once I've used them for a bit.
I've now used the wheel for around 10 hours, mostly been playing ETS2. The wheel is very nice for its price. FFB is strong enough and the wheel is smooth enough. Even though it's mostly plastic, it still feels sturdy, not like a toy. Button placement is excellent for trucksim and the ability to change settings on the wheel is great. The pedals are great, but the brake is a bit too hard to my taste even in its softest setting.
thanks for sharing, I ordered it and its my first wheel, I was a little scared that it wasn't worth it but I believe that for ETS, GT and formula racing this is a good choice. sorry if my english is not the best im from brazil
bruh y'all have it lucky, in my country this wheel is ~560$, even the logitech g29/920 hover around ~450$, and, you can't really get second hand sadly, but, great review, keep it up man!!
The wheel and pedals alone cost that much so I’d say that’s a pretty decent deal since the shifter alone is another like $80 I think it was on top of the $399 for just the wheel and pedal
Managed to get a used one (essentially like new) with a stand similar to the one you're using in the video for only $250. I LOVE this wheel, especially at the proce point I was lucky enough to get it at.
Flat bottomed rims you make this rocking world go round. I think for 300 bucks its a good choice. Not all of us want to spend 1500 freaking dollars just to play some decade old sims😊 thank you for the "to the point" review. See you in 2024. Peace✌️
I hate this review only because of the fact that this guy was clutching, then twisted his right foot EVERY shift to accelerate AND brake at the same time, kill me please
The main kit does not come with a separate shifter. It is equipped only with built in paddle shifters. I have seen a bundle a few times listed on amazon that also comes with the TH8S but it cost a little more than the standard kit.
Hey Dan, thank you for the video, i just bought it for the ps4 and i used now for 2 days, i wanted to ask you 2 things since it’s my first steering wheel and idk much about them: 1)is that normal that even if on ACC the Dead Zone of the break is set to 0% for the first 10/15% of the brake’s push it doesn’t give any input of braking? 2)is that normal that the wheel vibrates in an akward way (i know that it vibrates for the FFB and for the shock of the road and stuff, but it sometimes doesn’t feel “right”). Thanks in advance
Hey Bud! We're glad to have you racing with us and congrats on the new wheel! 1) It may be set like that by default and you should have at least 1 but possibly 2 fixes. But before this if you haven't yet, plug the base into a PC (doesn't have to be a powerful pc or have any games), and download the thrustmaster software and control panel. Make sure you have the latest firmware loaded into the base. They don't typically ship with the latest firmware so it needs to be updated, even if you are only using it on console. That may resolve the issue on it's own but if not try this: download the Thrustmaster Pedal Calibration tool (on PC also). Technically it's for the TLCM pedals but it should work on all TM pedals. This will allow you to adjust all of the deadzones and pressure inputs for each pedal. It's a pretty simple tool but it works wonders. All the settings should save and carry over to the console. Next check to see if there is an in game calibration setting in ACC. I haven't played ACC on console but I assume there would be. Check and adjust there as needed. 2) Yes this is normal and not only for the T248. This is pretty common for most bases that have all or partial gear driven internal drive systems. You should see how bad it is on the logitech wheels. If there is a damping slider in the ACC settings that can help smooth some of that it. It happens when a rapid and strong ffb effect is sent through the base and you're more than likely hearing and feeling the cogs of the gears spinning rapidly. It won't hurt anything as they are designed to work in this way to achieve the most ffb possible. Turning the overall ffb down a little can help with this also but that's a compromise you may not want to make. Since the 248 uses a belt/gear combo, it generally feels very smooth because the belt dampens the cogs. But when it has to "bite down" and give you a lot all at once, you will feel the cogs which can be a bit jarring at first. You'll probably get used to it quick and it helps to run headphones. I'd be willing to bet the sound is what you're probably noticing the most but you're thinking it's a ffb issue because you're feeling something slightly different at the same time. Hope this helps! Happy racing!
@ Hey Dan, thank you so much for the answer. Regarding the point 2, i sincerely thank you for the explanation. For the point 1, i downloaded already the latest firmware and driver for the wheel through my pc, but the problem persisted. In the ACC setting the dead zone is set to be 0% on the brake pedal, i was wondering about the calibration on the PC but i’m scared and not sure that it will still work for the Console, since the adapter costs 35€ you think it would worth it to “risk”? Thanks again for everything

i owned the wheel for two yrs now for gt7, i dont have anything else to compare with, so i m still using it, only thing is, the "leather" material will come off if u use gloves, and the pedal will oxidize if u play bare foot, other than that, i dont have much to complain about, i use psvr2, so the wheel display is worthless to me 😂
Hi, Great review, I bought this wheel a year ago to play GT7 and there were no problems, now I am trying new games like American Truck, Euro Truck, Forza Horizon 5 which worked perfectly but recently I wanted to try other games and it turns out that they do not recognize the steering wheel or they do not work with this steering wheel like Assetto Corsa, Asseto Corsa Competizione, Forza Motorsport, Dakar Desert Rally, I already updated the version of the game, I configured them in the game and nothing.... do you know anything about other games or if Is there a way to configure them depending on the game? thanks
No I used mine in basically all of those games except Dakar & ETS. I did use it in ATS. Sounds like there might be a bug with the firmware. Check and see if you have the latest version through the TM control panel. If so revert it back one version and see if that fixes it. If neither of those work then it sounds like something has corrupted the wheel driver itself. If you uninstall the driver and then reinstall it should fix any issues. The T248 is definitely compatible with all of those games so it should work.
This would work great for Truck and Farming sims. The only thing that might not be ideal is the flat bottom instead of round for those types of games where you have to turn the wheel many rotations but will still work no problem!
@@DanDiMaggio Yeahhh I ended up not buying it the half leather half plastic is so dumb. Didn't feel it in person but a lot of videos talking about it threw me off.

It is mounted to a Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 in this video. This wheelbase is strong enough that it requires it to be mounted to something fairly stable or it will wobble some. It can be a table or desk but it will need to be a pretty sturdy one. For the clutch issue, that will depend on what game you are playing. Most games have a way in the settings to calibrate the pedals. It will be in the settings and will have you go through each pedal and setup their full extents by stepping on each one. Sounds like the clutch needs to be calibrated in your game since it believes you are pressing on it when your not. Hope this helps!
Just fyi, there is a very large amount of modern vehicles that have multiple materials on the steering wheel designed extremely similar to this wheel so that example don't hold much weight imo
So far I've had the GT DF, the G29, and the CSL DD. And I feel like this would be a good wheel! You don't need DD. It's nice to have, but the G29 is solid! This would be too
I have Thrustmaster TMX FFB what I got from my cousin at the start of the year for 200€ It was bundle with TH8A shifter and T3PA pedals As I am going through wheels and stuff...it's like building PC...expensive AF Either way my point is that I got it for ETS2, week ago downloaded Assetto Corsa to have blast in it and let some steam off BUT- After few days I felt like coming back to ETS2 to just drive through country, listen to radio and relax Either way, do you have some recommendation for wheel for ETS2? My eyes went onto this one in video since Thrustmaster themselves have it as farming/trucking wheel and it looks like I'll be able to map way more onto this wheel than on one I got. I use paddle shifters as well for handbrake and mirrors since I didn't have other place to bind them to, using sim dashboard on my phone as control panel for more options Either way, do you have some recommendation to replace my TMX with something what got more grip and buttons? Or something what would suit better for trucking. Budget is around 300€, I really don't wanna go over 300€ just for wheel Edit: Forgot to mention that this wheel's current market price at my country is around 250€ to 280€
I have one available near me for 130$, so I wanted to ask if anyone knows, how does it compare to Logitech G29 (I've had that one for 4 years and sold it due to lack of time, it was still perfect to use)?
I just want to chill on gt7 or f1 career. Never used a wheel and just want a nice wheel thats not loud like the g29. Should i get this one as a casual?
Hello i just placed an order for this wheel at 274 dollars. I am from India and i have no previous experience of force feedback wheels. I had a very cheap wheel with 270 degrees of rotation and 2 pedal set which i was using for a while in ETS 2. But now i will have a far more experience with the T248. Hope it will not disappoint me. 😊
im also looking at that deal on flipkart and i think the tx racing wheel at 30k is a better buy , you will not be disappointed with the t248 but t300/tx is superior but still a very old wheel
@@tejas. Yes the tx is better but my budget was limited to the t248 I placed my order through flipkart and for the TH8S shifter through Amazon it's cheaper there. By the way thank you for your support.
@@TickleM0nzta hello there, the product that I received in my country India via Flipkart was damaged inside the base and there was no light in the LED console or telemetry. So, I refunded it and purchased the Tx leather edition.

@@awakeandwatching953 Hopefully mine still works. I heard the customer service wasn't good but I will keep in mind to try anyway if shit hits the fan. My fix was just to unplug the power cord and the usb, wait for the power to completely go out (like 5min) and try again with my control panel open, works all the time and it happens 1/2
Hi great review! How did you set the little led bars on your wheel display for them to go from sides to center? The ones on mine go from right to left and I can't figure out how to change them..
Hit the display button (right hand side toward the bottom) and then use the left/right arrows until you get to rpm or tach, one of them will have 3 different options for the lights. one is left to right, one is right to left, and the third is from both sides toward the center. I dont have it on my rig currently to check but it's definitely in that display menu on the right side of the wheel somewhere.
i had recently sold my T150. Now quickly needed a new one because I missed driving with a wheel more than I thought. Got the 248 for about 220€ and it feels like a decent upgrade. Feels alot more responsive, less "mechanical" and noticably better force feedback, too... Enjoying it alot. Glad that it comes with the "better" pedals, I´m using the clutch for brakes though :)
Sony´s licensing department is the problem... Also results in the PS-compatible one being 80 bucks more than the "Xbox-version" (220 vs. 299) in stores around here... Despite it being the same wheel. I have trouble understanding how people still support Sony and trying to tell me that PC gaming is too expensive, when in reality in a 10 years time frame I´m certainly not paying more, maybe even slightly less for my PCs if you take the accessories, higher game prices, several editions with slight "improvements" etc into account...
@@RSProduxxthat’s a lie! Look at fanatec lol gt dd does PlayStation,Xbox and pc also clubsport dd+ is PlayStation,Xbox and pc So more or less it’s the companies making products are lazy and figure it’s easier to double charge you if you want all systems in one.
@simrig412 if it were a lie, the CSL DD wouldn't be only XBOX and PC compatible. You have to spend over 1000AUD just to get fanatec DD on Playstation, and that IS because Fanatec (a tiny company) have no choice but to pass on Sony's (a massive corporation) licence fees to the customer! You literally mentioned the very wheel, that PS5 users are forced to by if they want a Fanatec DD base! Yet forget to realize that it cost significantly more than the CSL DD that works on everything else. The reason is the Base needs to be designed to work with PS, whereas the wheel itself needs to be compatible with the Xbox. All are compatible on PC, which you can get racing games for free, easily! Then run at 140hz native 4k without upscaling, and RT if you want to buy a 4090. I got a 4080 and run at 165hz, 1440p, with everything maxed, with maxed out RT❤, but I also paid about $5USD (9AUD) for Assetto Corsa, then installed content manager, and made it a much better version than a console can have, all for free. The only reason I'd even consider a Playstation worthy of any consideration for me personally, would be because of GT7. But with all the sims on PC, I can live without that one sim, even though I must admit that Gran Turismo games are masterpieces Ps5 is definitely a good way to go though. But it's obvious that only big companies like Logitech, can afford to absorb those kinds of licensing fees
Likes the loud ass shifters? Definitely paid by TM to do this. It was good until then. Unless you genuinely like the shifters, then I am truly left baffled my friend. Edit: I didn’t watch the entire video, you mention the loud eventually during cons.
Just to say, I've had this wheel for 3 weeks now and the notching got way worse, besides that problem the wheel has a horrible feeling to it and a screeching noise came out while turning right with the ffb, after this I just couldn't stand the wheel so I returned and got a moza R3 direct drive for 400$ way better no notching and more powerful as it is direct drive, with that I would never recommend the t248 horrible wheel in my opinion.
My bro has one of these. They feel cheap amd plasticy. Especially when clamped to a table. G920 feels better quality. Altho i lile tge features on this wheel. The display is cool and u can set different settings and quick change between them.

Just fyi, there is a very large amount of modern vehicles that have multiple materials on the steering wheel designed extremely similar to this wheel so that example don't hold much weight imo
lol ive never seen a car with a plastic rim
So far I've had the GT DF, the G29, and the CSL DD.
And I feel like this would be a good wheel! You don't need DD. It's nice to have, but the G29 is solid! This would be too
I bought the wheel for 190 is that good?
For sure! Enjoy!
I have Thrustmaster TMX FFB what I got from my cousin at the start of the year for 200€
It was bundle with TH8A shifter and T3PA pedals
As I am going through wheels and stuff...it's like building PC...expensive AF
Either way my point is that I got it for ETS2, week ago downloaded Assetto Corsa to have blast in it and let some steam off BUT-
After few days I felt like coming back to ETS2 to just drive through country, listen to radio and relax
Either way, do you have some recommendation for wheel for ETS2? My eyes went onto this one in video since Thrustmaster themselves have it as farming/trucking wheel and it looks like I'll be able to map way more onto this wheel than on one I got. I use paddle shifters as well for handbrake and mirrors since I didn't have other place to bind them to, using sim dashboard on my phone as control panel for more options
Either way, do you have some recommendation to replace my TMX with something what got more grip and buttons? Or something what would suit better for trucking. Budget is around 300€, I really don't wanna go over 300€ just for wheel
Edit: Forgot to mention that this wheel's current market price at my country is around 250€ to 280€
I have one available near me for 130$, so I wanted to ask if anyone knows, how does it compare to Logitech G29 (I've had that one for 4 years and sold it due to lack of time, it was still perfect to use)?
I just want to chill on gt7 or f1 career. Never used a wheel and just want a nice wheel thats not loud like the g29. Should i get this one as a casual?
Yes that’s exactly what I use it for
It’s not clunky like a Logitech, pedals are nice.
@@chasethompson9826 got the t248 and i gotta say that i am very happy with it. Its smooth af
By the way thank you for your support.
how is it working for you? i was thinking about buying it and im looking if its worth it
@@TickleM0nzta hello there, the product that I received in my country India via Flipkart was damaged inside the base and there was no light in the LED console or telemetry. So, I refunded it and purchased the Tx leather edition.
Thanks for the review. However, It seems like the cons list on the wheel were forced and you had to make something.
I do not recommend this one, had mine for a short time and it just died on me, it doesnt connect anymore. I've been looking for a fix but there is not fix... Beside switching a piece inside the Wheel.
Look up "T248 not detected"
send it back to thrust master.. their support is pretty good apparently
Thank you for the help!
did it have any problem
no problems other then the little annoying things i mentioned in the video like sometimes it can be loud. But overall it works flawlessly.
The problem with larger is that it means you need a stronger robust motor… due to physics.
i had recently sold my T150. Now quickly needed a new one because I missed driving with a wheel more than I thought.
Got the 248 for about 220€ and it feels like a decent upgrade. Feels alot more responsive, less "mechanical" and noticably better force feedback, too... Enjoying it alot. Glad that it comes with the "better" pedals, I´m using the clutch for brakes though :)
it cost now 256 euros
I purchased a used one for 120 euro
Great review
If only they released it with the wheel being detacheable, it's the ideal wheel for casual/truck driving.
Totally agree!
There is one for 80 dollars idk i might get it
That's a steal!
Stupidity why they doing PS/PC and separate XBOX/PC versions like what is the problem with making one wheel compatible with all 3 platforms.........
Look at fanatec lol gt dd does PlayStation,Xbox and pc also clubsport dd+ is PlayStation,Xbox and pc
So more or less it’s the companies making products are lazy and figure it’s easier to double charge you if you want all systems in one.
But with all the sims on PC, I can live without that one sim, even though I must admit that Gran Turismo games are masterpieces
Ps5 is definitely a good way to go though. But it's obvious that only big companies like Logitech, can afford to absorb those kinds of licensing fees
They cost the same, buy the One you need stop crying g
@@sketchi7306 they don´t...
It is real leather
Likes the loud ass shifters? Definitely paid by TM to do this. It was good until then. Unless you genuinely like the shifters, then I am truly left baffled my friend. Edit: I didn’t watch the entire video, you mention the loud eventually during cons.
Yup they are very loud. Anyone else in your house will probably get pretty annoyed but they do feel pretty snappy which is nice.
I used small Hairbands of my wife and pulled them over the shifters and it worked wonders. Eliminates its biggest flaw in my opinion
@@derfloh8986 That's a great idea!
The display is cool and u can set different settings and quick change between them.
never a trust master for me ever again
Why
Getting a free pc wheel is being paid mate. Where do you people get off believing you haven't just been bought off. Geez! Won't watch - can't watch.
a wheel like this means little when you have thousands worth of wheels and high end bases.. how do you expect reviews to work exactly
U got a recommend chair rig set up what ever u wanna call it
Got it 4 ps5 was using a upside down back wards missing parts and tools rig propped up by toaster held down by 12 off the biggest bibles
