A few frontloader tips from years of operating real machinery:1. Lift the load only slightly above the trailer, that way you can see where you will place it. 2. If you have the space make wide circles when aligning with the trailer. It will be much easier to get the load straight. If there is no space, reversing twice or three times to properly align the load is nothing uncommon. 3. The controls on the joystick are OK, (finally a joystick with up-down buttons for telehandlers) but i would suggest somekind of mount for the joystick to keep your arm in a more natural position and more relaxed. Placed on a table is really too far for optimal operation.
Yeah and i have found that when running the real thing i hold on to the top of the joystick with just my finger instead the grabbing the bottom with my hole hand
Unplug your ears. It was pretty easy to hear the force feedback on this video and it's one of the things most people complain about in T248 reviews. What we won't hear is the incessant clicking of the mouse he bought 6 months ago.
Love that. Gives a great insight into the kit you use to make your videos so seamless. I’ve been getting into fs19 recently (probably need to invest in 22) but it’s so hard just with a mouse and keyboard.
As a sim racer turned sim farmer I really recommend you buy a kit designed for farm sim if you get one. Trying to get a racing wheel set up for farm SIM is a ball ache and the buttons just aren't set out for that kind of game
I've been using the thrustmaster T.16000 hota joystick and TWCS throttle. with a thrustmaster tx wheel. I love this set up for fs22. so many mapable keys to use. the t.16000 joystick is pretty much the same as the one your showing just with slightly different key layout. you should look into getting the TWCS throttle as well. It's definitely worth the money if you got the budget.
I work using a telehandler or lull as we call it here in the U.S. every day and its a lot similar as far as moving the boom up and down but however every model I've been in you pull the stick to the left/right for boom in/boom out and the but you use for boom in/out in to tilt the forks up or down. Overall looks really fun to use might have to get me one for construction sim.
Protip: turn off (or down) the deadzones for the wheel\pedals and for the stick! So bad that there is no VR support for this game yet... I would love to see the wheel\stick combo always appearing on your videos!
VR would be great, but a big shortcoming right now is the lack of proper working mirrors. You can't adjust them or adjust the seating position, so you're stuck with whatever direction they are pointing. If they could fix that, then a cabview-only style of playthrough is possible.
Funny enough ive been using my THA Sidestick for the longest time for buttons and front loader actions so its nice to see this come from TH so will defiantly be picking this up
This is impressive, I’ve been wish listing items like a wheel and stand recently, I’ll have to add this sim task stick to my list. Are you going to cover the new Hori wheel/control system coming out soon?
You seem to have done an excellent job, Daggerwin, in promoting the joystick! That, combined with the excellent reputation of Thrustmaster products means they have no stock left in the UK! If you want one for Christmas 2023, hard luck. No doubt they will be back in stock sometime in 2024, but Thrustmaster can't say when.
Look forward to try that out with my Fanatec CLS DD Pro. Should only take a small job to drill 3 holes for Fanatec :) Inbount by mail, so have to wait a few days more...
I run a jcb telehandler and the correct way the joystick works is up/down is right but move the stick right it extends the arm and move the stick left it retracts the arm
After my old Logitech sidepanel's joystick came close to kicking the bucket 2 years on, I think it's time I got the farm-stick. The joystick itself looks extremely similar to the size of the one in our wheel loader and probably the combine harvester, too, thinking about it 🤔
I just can't - the Thrustmaster Farmstick sounds so borderline rude! Seriously, I caught wind of this a month or so back, but couldn't find any way of telling you. Rather happy they found you!
noticed the wheel is quite loud, dont know if that becomes better the more you use it, but did seem a little annoying, but would probably be less noticable with headphones on
Looks like you had the same issue VF did when he first tried out the new kit, with the steering wheel fixed to the table you are having to stretch to reach the stick. I think he said they also do a rest for the stick so that it can be put alongside the wheel.
Just ordered the joystick along with a TH8S shifter to pair with my G920. Looking at getting the wheel later on to replace the logitech. Paid $50 USD for the G920 with wheel stand at a garage sale.
Extending the boom out on real machines is normally pushing the stick to the right and in pushing to the left. Tilting the head up and down would be where the 3 way switch is. Atleast for a gehl dl 11-55 gen 3. Older gehl’s you’d hold a switch button while moving the stick left and right to tilt head.
@@Tomhellyerdepends on the jcb. Or most machines for that matter. Also have an older jcb where it’s the same as the gehl but the head tilt is on a whole other hydraulic stick.
I think you should include the view of wheel and stick in some videos in the future. it would be helpful to see how you utilize them for a noob like me
Actually, I think these days there are only joysticks in most heavy machinery. No more streeing wheels in anything anymore except highway trucks. Even the big CAT mining truck has 2 joysticks for steering!
I’ve just gotten back into FS22 and am using an X52 Pro flight stick for steering with the pedals and side panel from the Logitech Heavy Equipment Pack. This looks like a much better setup. Can the force feedback be disabled? My biggest problem with the heavy equipment pack wheel is the hardwired return spring can’t be bypassed and is frustrating to use.
I'm curious, how high can you position the wheel on the steering kit? As looking at what you have there it looks like, with the wheel at a fairly "normal vehicle" angle (i.e. with the flat of the wheel towards yourself, rather than the edge) the wheel will always be below the level of the desk it's mounted to, with just the top poking just above at best? That seems like it would be a little low for many, unless I'm missing something?
that looks like it would make the game more fun! i love watching your videos but i hate the mouse+keyboard controls so i stopped playing the game myself
hello, we bought the part that is used for the steering wheel, I wanted to buy it, it looks like it works quite well, I'm Alex from Norway, I'm very interested to know where you bought such a part for the steering wheel
Not a fan of the practice of "gifting" pricey components to tubers to briefly spotlight and then put on their shelves to collect dust. However this is Daggerwin so I know the items actually went to a good home with someone that will appreciate them.
I know the answer is proabbaly no but does this setup work with series x and if not is there a joystick I could use with the thrust master 248x that would work for front loader tools? Or does the 248 operate the front loader tools too or do you have to use controller?
....so what your saying is, we going to get more videos with more first person views and balestacking and forklifts and stuff? ngl, that's pretty tight.
Nice review, looks nice. Quick Question: Is the help of Farming Simulator reacting to the stick? So the help gives you "press y to do this thing" and maybe the help gives you here: "press this button on the stick to operate function xyz"? That would be nice... Looking forward to more first person stuff and also the time lapse was nice to watch. I am still missing a "terminal" thingy for controlling the actions like that from Saitek (now Logitech). But that is a cheap plastic thing and I wasn't happy with that.
Hey lovely. The equipment looks amazing, Quick question: I'm in a wheelchair so I wouldn't be able to use the pedals -do they have to be used with this set up?
I've used the Thrustmaster T.16000M for a while now, but only with keyboard/mouse/xbox controller. I have a G920 wheel but it squeaks way to much for recording. It would seem this wheel is a bit noisy as well, does it have force feedback? I can't understand why it's so noisy if it doesn't

i have to say this has been one of the most clean videos showing off a piece of tech such in depth detail such a great example on how to use it
Just think will no longer hear the steering wheel while Daggerwin is driving. Maybe the break petal will work better.
Hearing dag's steering wheel and mouse is part of why I enjoy his videos lol
