Very nice, Mike. I made a bunch of these last year and they were very well received.
I encourage your viewers to give these a try. By varying the shape of the hat and/or the bottom 'snowball', it's easy to give each one a unique personality. Some of mine had bowler hats, cowboy hats, extremely tall top hats, small pillbox hats (like Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis used to wear), etc. By having the bottom flair out from a narrow waste into a wide cone shape, you give the snowperson a skirt. The point is, there are lots of ways to make these. Have fun with them!
Totally agree. Lots of room for creative design.
I get paint stir sticks from my local hardware store and use those to make mine.
Beginner. Loved your video. Not the first one I’ve seen like this but the best.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Appreciate the story board trick. I still have paper ones I've made for Christmas trees a few years back but transferring some actual wooden boards is a great idea.
Thanks for another great video Mike.
Glad you enjoyed it, Doug.
Just the right time for this video. I am turning some very large ones and the wife is decorating them. Will for sure get puff paint. I have a bunch of branches for arms cut and have rubber bands on then to give an elbow bend, soaking in water at the moment.
Sounds great!
Thanks for the demo Mike.
Take care my friend
Cheers
Harold
Thanks, Harold.
Skills and tips are much appreciated.
Fun video. I can't wait to try this.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks Mike, a nice, simple snowman. I'll try a few for my upcoming Christmas stall at the weekend.
Go for it.
I love the detailed information you provide on your videos. Thanks much!!
Glad you like them!
Fun project.
Thanks for the suggestion on turning with the 1/4” mortis. I’m fairly new at turning and appreciate all your videos!
I’ve been busy turning pepper mills and to take a break, I grabbed a 6” bowl blank
Cut the mortis and finished turning it.
I’ll send a pic when done.
Thanks again for your instructions! And I look forward to turning some snowmen.
My grandsons will enjoy.
Life is great and keep on turning!!

Absolutely!
We’ll done Mike. Nice instructional demo.
Thanks for taking the time to say so, Robert!
Great little snowman ornament Mike. I will have to make a few of these for Xmas.
Yes you do, Jack.
Like it Mike
Thank you so much I've been making little snowman on my wood lathe
Glad I could help!
Timely video as I’m in the middle of making snowmen. I need to look for the puff paint as I’m turning some pad sum to glue on for the nose.
You will love the puff paint.
Great video Mike. I really appreciate your tutorials! I’ve been turning these type snowman for a few years and I add arms out of forked twigs or bare fine twisted copper wire. I usually hollow mine from the bottom end and lighten them up as much as possible. I haven’t weighed any but they are definitely lighter that non hollowed. Thanks again and GOD BLESS.
That is awesome!
i think a little bit of holly would be great on that lill fella .great vid
Holly would be great. I have also been using holly on some of these ornaments where I have been using dye in order to get a more true color.
Nice one. Easy pressies or seller's
Yes they are
Nice video, very informative. I didn't find the link for the abrasive past
Thanks for the comment. Depends on your device whether or not you see the little circled i in the upper right that provides the link. For example, it does not appear on a TV. I have verified the link is there. What kind of device are you watching YT on?

Great video, i learned quite a bit. I saw you had a page with snowman stuff on it. Is that available ?
Those were someone elses documents I could not show. You did see the storyboard with the measurements that you could do a screen print.
Thanks
Can you post the puff paint you're using? There are so many I am getting confused which to try.
Sorry. Like I said, I bought my puff paint 15 years ago. Go any crafts store like hobby lobby or Michael's and ask a clerk to show you the puff paint.
what are the dimensions in are they millimeters, or are they in inches? And what are the measurements that you are using I would like to make one of these for my mother, thank you again
I am wondering if you watched the video? I show a diagram at 2:50 point showing dimensions in MM and inches..
@@MikePeaceWoodturning i have a question what did you first turn the blank down to before you actually started working on the hat portion?
@@hogansmachineshop8401 see my reply to your earlier question.
Overall I like the video, but I did not like all the time you spent shooting from the tail stock position. I feel that we missed a lot. Sorry.
I appreciate your feedback. Thanks for sharing.
