Who is here still listening in 2024??? I got the honor of seeing ZZ Top perform twice before Dusty Hill passed on. No one can replace him 100% but I respect anyone who fills his spot in the group. Rock on Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard!!

My condolences to the rest of the band and his family. Being from The Great State of Texas the name Dusty fits. Been there myself thru dust storms 😊. Not welcome any more I'd like to know what group of idiots made that happen. And best wishes to the new member of your band.

RIP Dusty "The Bearded Bassist" - Posted here as it may be his mother being a waitress at a restaurant in Memphis that Elvis would frequent that inspired him to become a musician. With Elvis and this song being one of his favorites... his music will live forever.

As a one time San Leon, TX. resident, I am saddened to hear the news that Dusty has passed on. Used to drive past Waynos Bar often. Dusty had a big mansion compound on the water, right down the street. Every now and then he'd pop in the local watering hole. It was cool driving past his place with the big "DH" on the gate out by the road. Was sad when he left for Houston, even sadder to learn he has left us forever. I've moved to Florida and just purchased tickets to see ZZ Top here in November. I was worried that his hip was too bad for him to get back on tour before then, but I didn't want to believe the news that he died. I guess when it is your time, it's your time. Happy that it happened in Texas. Dusty was a true Texan. Rest in Peace Mr. Hill, and thank you for sharing your music with all of us. Hopefully you and Elvis are comparing your versions of this song. Again, Thank you very much.

They really mastered the rhythm in their production. My friend who is a die-hard rock-N-roll fan dismisses ZZ Top as "disco rock," but this later sound is what set them apart. Also, like Aerosmith's huge 80's resurgance, to me it proved that Rock & Roll was not dead in the 80's.
I'm not a fan of many cover versions but this in 1 of the best

I Love ZZ top they got on forever we even had them on our wedding day music, then I gave my husband a great roaring send off for his funeral everyone loved it.

Fun fact: The showgirls that appear in the video, were the from the "Jubilee!" show at the Bally's hotel it opened on July 31, 1981 and closed on February 11, 2016 after 35 years.

The only thing I hate about ZZ Top and their music, is that it always has to end!!!! These guys are frikkin legends. I saw them live in 1987 on the Gold Coast in Australia, with support bands Rose Tattoo and The Angels. Man what a lineup!!! More hooter in the audience than all the Cheech and Chong movies put together.

Each time I see scenes of Las Vegas, I think back a few years of that Englishman who was near ruin right after the 2008 crash. He lost his job, his wife and kids and even his dog. , With nothing left to lose, he 2nd mortgaged his house and flew to las Vegas. He found a Roulette wheel he liked and placed it all one Red. It won!! he was a sudden hero and everyone clamored about his guts, and nerves of steel. Only one person asked him "what would have happened had you lost"? he smiled and said "I only bought a one way ticket from Great Britain".
