I bought the Artist 12 after a lot of research and because Brad recommended it. I have no regrets. I thought the size would be too small but it turned out to be perfect for me.The only negative for me is that once it is on the table you do have to hover lower and it will put a strain on your neck and back but I fixed that by putting it on top of something to make it more eye level. I've used it to play games, draw, watch movies, etc. The glare can get in the way sometimes when a light source is behind you but you can just adjust it. The wires can get a little annoying but it's not too much different from other wired technologies. It may or may not be for you but for me, no regrets. The only negative reviews I've seen were by people angry that it wasn't like an iPad lol Use Brad's links to get one if you want. Hi Brad! Just wanted to say thank you for what you do. Hi! I found your channel today and I loooove your videos (especially the reviews). They're to the point, well explained, and thank you for being one of those sensible people that don't put obnoxious music over everything.
Very good reviews from Brad, probably the best on TH-cam. I have one small suggestion. I think it's also worth mentioning if a drawing tablet has a touch screen panel or not.
While a lot of people seem to recommend this tablet, I have another opinion about that: I just came back from the post office to send it in for a refund. Got mine new with a discount down to about 170€. Arrived with a damaged package (Amazon transport damage, I guess) but inside it was okay. Worked with this for 20 days, the pen started to draw 2mm above touching the screen. One of the pens keys was doing random clicks, had to disable it. The zoom wheel on this is really great as soon as you realize it also works when the device is off, on other screens. No, all this WAS NOT a drivers issue. The pen rotation was awful and the cursor often went crazy and oftern turned to random directions. I would definitely not recommend this to any beginner. Got a 16 inch Huion now, that are their competitors. Hopefully this is better.
I'm looking for a Wacom alternative for so long and I am very keen of getting Artist 12 Pro. I was super unsure if it's worth my money; but thanks to your video and point of views of an artist , I'm getting this! XDD
Watching this on my Artist 12 Pro. The scroll wheel and the size is awesome. The only complaint is that sometimes it detects a single click as a double click, but you can disable that feature. it's a step up from my old XP Pen 10S. Also protip: buy an adjustable ergo laptop cooler to prop it up (and cool it at the same time). Hunching down is bad for posture, tilt the thing so you won't have to.
I saw a comic advertising this and it was PERFECT because I've been doing commissions and saving up for a screen tablet. My current tablet is an XP Pen G430 (the smallest and cheapest tablet) and it's REALLY good, the working area is really small but it gets the work done. I feel the need to upgrade and I just might get an XP-Pen 12 Pro. Thanks for the review!!
The displays come extreamly well calibrated out of the box. Perhaps a little tiny bit blue leaning but it's hardly noticeable probaly one of the most well calibrated tablets, yes, including cintiqs, right out front
hiya I have been looking into a drawing tablet with a screen for a while now and have looked into a ton of reviews. But after looking through your videos I feel you're very trustworthy. I have a involuntary movement disorder and I often drop or throw things when I have episodes. I am wondering how durable is the screen? I have always wanted to have a tablet with a screen but I am afraid of breaking it if I put too much pen pressure when I have a muscle spasm or shake. Do you know if this tablet or another you might recommend that might be more durable or have some sort of casing for protection in case I damage it. I get these spasm daily and thy vary in terms of intensity. Please and thank you.
this review really helped me! I'm looking to upgrade from my mouse to a proper tablet (I have extremely bad hand eye coordination so a display is a must for me) and I wasn't sure if the Artist 12 Pro was good or not for the ridiculously cheap price (at least compared to other display tabs)
Any updates on how you've progressed? I'm also looking to move from my mouse to possibly this tablet here but I'm afraid it won't be for me as I'm on a tight budget.
I just got my artist 13.3 pro and connected to my raspberry pi 400 I used blender and gimp2 hooked it all up and worked out of the box the free programs worked flawlessly and I can work the raspberry pi as a regular computer as well, the raspberry pi 400 is a keyboard computer the artist and pen work very well. I am new to a drawling tablet, a lot different then pencil and paper. with the raspberry pi 400 it makes it extra portable
I am slowly starting to review more 2 in 1s now that some sponsor money i flowing in I hope to do more. I just picked up an ASUS Duo pro and next week is a Microsoft even o yes, in the future I plan on doing more. Oh yeah, and the Wacom Grady mentioned, That review should be ready in the next week or two.
I picked up the 12 when it was on sale for less than $200. I love it, but definitely want to upgrade to the 16 ASAP. I have had minor issues with it and generally love it! It’s light, thin and functions pretty well!
OK so I have a question about the software. My son has really taken to drawing anime characters so I'm looking to get him one of these tablets. 1) how/ where is the software for the colors and tools? Are you able to save pictures to a memory device?
Thank you for the clear and concise review! I wasnt sure if i should splurge for this tablet, as even thought its cheap for screen tablet prices its still a lot of money if it turns out to be no good, but now im pretty convinced im gonna get it :)
One of the things that is a negative for me is all the cords you have to use (even the 3-in-1 cords can be an annoyance); which is why I've been leaning more towards a 2-in-1 laptop for my daughter's animation/drawing work instead of getting her another drawing tablet. The Wacom is just too bulky and the cords are pretty intrusive.

I really really confused which one i better should buy between Huion Kamvas 13 and Artist 13.3 Pro, after months of usage how is the durability of Artist 13.3 Pro btw?? And the build quality??is it back panel made with metal or plastic?
@@jakakelana410 it's still in good quality but it's so frustrating using it with my Mac book mini but that seems more like my macs fault! I scratched the screen a little bit but that's because I tend to be careless at times. The screen still works perfectly.
Hello! Wanna give a 3 years later perspective on the Cintiq Pro 13 comment. Wacom discontinued that display 1 year after release, and they put out the Wacom One. I have the Cintiq Pro 13. And its a huge regret. I'm going to buy the Artist 13.3 Pro next month. I dunno if its my product exclusively, or all of them, but the fact that its discontinued suggests to me that all of them is faulty. So a list of issues from day 1: If you don't have a display compatible USB-C port on your computer, the tablet connects to a hub via USB C, from the HUB, one power cord goes to your wall, a regular USB and a HDMI goes to your computer. Now this HUB has constant issues with the display, its a hardware issue, and when you turn the 13 pro on, and it can't turn on the display, you have to pull all 4 plugs from the hub and plug it back in to reset it. What this means is your cable hub has to be on your desk constantly, you can't put it in a cable holder and forget about it. So thats a constant cable mess on the table. Another day 1 issue is that the few "buttons" it has are display buttons on the top that you only hover over to activate. That means its super easy to accidentally press them, and turn the pen display into a tablet mode, which means you are now using it like a regular non-display tablet. Issue is, the driver is faulty and if you turn it back to display mode, the screen appears, but the cursor is still controling your main display instead of the Cintiq display. You have to fickle with it to turn it back on properly. Later issues that appeared now: It is already losing pressure sensitivity. It fails to register low pressure, and I have to press hard otherwise it just fails. So I can't draw smooth lines only thick lines, and my hand hurts from the pressing. Not to mention its probably not good for the tablet either. I had a Cintiq 13HD before this, my friend is using it, and its still working even after 6-7 years. The Cintiq 13HD is more than a decade old hardware. So in conclusion, Wacom Cintiq 13 Pro made me leave Wacom.
I'm considering either the 12 or 13.3, and since black friday is coming around with the sales, I want to grab this opportunity and get one! That said, is the size difference between the 12 and the 13.3 that significant? If not, then I'll go for the 12. (considering that I'm used to drawing on an iPad pro 9.7, which is already a tiny screen)
Picked up the Artist 12 Pro a couple weeks ago during the XP-pen store sale for $175. My only complaints are that I wish I had gone for a bigger display and secondly, the red dial on the display was very slippery and hard to turn because I couldn't get a decent grip on it with my thumb but it seems to be getting easier. Otherwise, it's a great display and haven't had any problems with it. One more thing, I wish they had added a button or touch sensor inside the dial though it may have made the cost go up so whatever.
Wowww so Glad i saw this review! I was pretty solid on saving up for an iPad but since I have a MacBook already, I’ll just pick this out ! Screen size is fine for me because of my tiny 🖐 🤚 this is gonna save me about 500!!!

I really love you bro, Got an ipad pro because it fit my workflow. But still watch all your videos because i just love to hear you talk and tell jokes 🤣.
I'm on the same channel bro. But I also kind of view the best option just in case some catastrophic thing or accident happens to my equipment. The videos are super fun though.
It's interesting that nobody mentions problems with the drivers of these tablets, in any of the youtube videos i've seen.... I just got mine a couple of days back and tried to use it today...the pentablet.exe file won't open. It gives an error. Has anyone come across this problem and have they found a fix? It's all over the place if you google it or in reddit, etc... but still no firm solution...would appreciate any help! Oh, by the way, Merry Christmas! :)
Would have been nice to see a direct side by side comparison of the two sizes, also this doesn't really emphasis HOW easy it is to damage the screen with scratches from the stylus enough imho. I bought the 12 pro from this (and other) recommendation(s) and 5 days later have had to return it due to scratches (for the record i am not heavy handed at all). disclaimer: It is possible that i have just had bad luck and got a "dodgy" one, but its something that other purchasers should be wary of. I do agree however that other than these points it is an awsome tablet.
Would you say one is considerably better out of these 2 similarly priced screens: XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro Huion Kamvas Pro 12 Think both have similar sized screen, tilt, pressure levels. And for use left handed but I think both can be flipped around and still use the controls OK still
Been back and forthing from this and the Huion 13 pro for a while now.. might have to flip a coin to decide. Wish there were stores that stocked these to try them both near me.. anyone tried both?

I have one small suggestion. I think it's also worth mentioning if a drawing tablet has a touch screen panel or not.
Good suggestion. Also, this one is not a touch screen.
Brad please help me. Is it worth to switch to this than the Huion 13 pro? Because I bought a Huion and didn't know I needed to connect it to an outlet
XDD
Did you tried it already? If yes it's worth it?
Watching this on my Artist 12 Pro. The scroll wheel and the size is awesome. The only complaint is that sometimes it detects a single click as a double click, but you can disable that feature. it's a step up from my old XP Pen 10S. Also protip: buy an adjustable ergo laptop cooler to prop it up (and cool it at the same time). Hunching down is bad for posture, tilt the thing so you won't have to.
I'm using the 15.6 pro currently, love it!
Thanks for all the reviews! Just got the 12 inch one as a starter tablet for digital art. Even used your link on your site. Keep up the great work!
How was it?
I saw a comic advertising this and it was PERFECT because I've been doing commissions and saving up for a screen tablet. My current tablet is an XP Pen G430 (the smallest and cheapest tablet) and it's REALLY good, the working area is really small but it gets the work done. I feel the need to upgrade and I just might get an XP-Pen 12 Pro. Thanks for the review!!
2 people are jealous of the glove dancing skills. Great video, Brad!
Thank you for the great review, bought it on sale for the $189 from the original $300 price. Can't wait to get my hands on it, so excited!
Been waiting for that almost catched up to wacom. I think its a good time now to buy them
Can you recommend the color adjustment for the drawing display, would really help me a lot...please?
IT CAN WORK ON THOSE?????????????? Dude im genuinely so new to this I needa catch up
Can you do a review of 2 in 1 laptop tablets?
He got the new Mobile Studio Pro model from Wacom weeks ago. Look up Brad's sketchbook.
I am slowly starting to review more 2 in 1s now that some sponsor money i flowing in I hope to do more. I just picked up an ASUS Duo pro and next week is a Microsoft even o yes, in the future I plan on doing more. Oh yeah, and the Wacom Grady mentioned, That review should be ready in the next week or two.
oh maybe like those cheap hp 2 in 1 laptops with pen, i was looking for a review for those but i can't find them
@@tormenmashi_ Or something like Samsung's Notebook 9 and/or Notebook 9 Pro with S-pen.
I picked up the 12 when it was on sale for less than $200. I love it, but definitely want to upgrade to the 16 ASAP. I have had minor issues with it and generally love it! It’s light, thin and functions pretty well!
How is the device compared to Huion Kamvas 13 Pro? Which one is better?
From his list, he lists this one as a better option or more of his favorite
OK so I have a question about the software. My son has really taken to drawing anime characters so I'm looking to get him one of these tablets. 1) how/ where is the software for the colors and tools? Are you able to save pictures to a memory device?
do you mean the drawing software?
Thank you for the clear and concise review! I wasnt sure if i should splurge for this tablet, as even thought its cheap for screen tablet prices its still a lot of money if it turns out to be no good, but now im pretty convinced im gonna get it :)
Some tablets do have a USB-C connector, does it mean that the usb-c will be enough to send power to it(like some other devices)or it only sends data ?
yes and yes
One of the things that is a negative for me is all the cords you have to use (even the 3-in-1 cords can be an annoyance); which is why I've been leaning more towards a 2-in-1 laptop for my daughter's animation/drawing work instead of getting her another drawing tablet. The Wacom is just too bulky and the cords are pretty intrusive.
So guys i need some help, i'm so confuse it to choose between Xp pen artist 13 pro or huion kamvas 13 pro wich is both of them have same price in my country. So what do you think? should i go with Xp pen or Huion?
PS: btw i have xp pen deco 1 before, i've got it like a year ago i think and it's good enough. But i want to move with display drawing tablet.
*price
*Lvl pressure sensitive

He says he thinks you should go for xp pen but if you have already got one both are good
me: *watches this in my 12 artist pro*
Is it big enough? i am torn between 12, 13.3 and 15.6...
@@thepillowmancer same
Dorifey Try the 15.6 inch, you will love yourself for getting the larger size!
@@ayaneagano6059 do you prefer 15.6 pro over 13.3 pro?
@@RS-ld2sz yeah
i ordered it right after watching your vid. My dad asked me what I want this Xmas so I sent it to him. I would call him to make sure he is expecting the parcel but you know my dad... he's probably sleeping right now, hope he won't get too surprised next morning xD
I have the 12 and absolutely love it!
Will you review the toilet that shoots water on your back to give you extra cleanliness?
Would love to have this😍. I was hoping to get an Ipad pro but it's impossible for me now💔 This april I will try and fid me a job and start saving myself sum money to buy this in my birthday 😍.. I really hope that it will happen😊.
Having this tablet would be wayyyyyyyy amazing to draw digital drawings..cuz it would give a traditional drawing feel! And it's way convenient and could save lots of time for doing the lineart😍😍...
ive been so excited for these
I just ordered the Artist 13.3 Pro and I'm super excited thanks for reviewing it. I'm a beginner with all of this, but you explained it well and it was easy to process all these information :)
Later issues that appeared now:
It is already losing pressure sensitivity.
I got the artist 12 pro and it's a really good and straightforward tablet.
Can you switch it to a left handed display (have the buttons on the right side?)
This was the exact video I was searching for!
One who talked about both 12 and 13.3 version.
Can it only work on a computer or it can work on a other device as well? (Another question) does it have to be a pacific computer or any computer
hey brad im back here cause i just got my xp pen artist 13.3 pro thank u
I'm considering either the 12 or 13.3, and since black friday is coming around with the sales, I want to grab this opportunity and get one! That said, is the size difference between the 12 and the 13.3 that significant? If not, then I'll go for the 12. (considering that I'm used to drawing on an iPad pro 9.7, which is already a tiny screen)
I believe in "you get what you pay for" but this is too much.. thanks for amazing review brad!
I began considering investing in an Xp-pen 13.3 because of your review. They should really consider sponsoring you.
the XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro is currently $75 off on their website. Just purchased mine for $175.99 with free shipping
Wowww so Glad i saw this review! I was pretty solid on saving up for an iPad but since I have a MacBook already, I’ll just pick this out ! Screen size is fine for me because of my tiny 🖐 🤚 this is gonna save me about 500!!!
This is the tablet I'm getting myself along with the new laptop I plan to buy. Thanks for the review Brad! ✌️
Old video, but hopefully I can get a quick response. Which tablet is better, this, or a huion kamvas pro 13? They are the same price and I'm having trouble deciding
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS, THANK YOU
Cool! yeah, I got a little backlogged and fit a vacation early this month so I've been sitting on these for a few weeks.
Thank you! I was waiting for your review on those
you sir, made me check the back of my drawing pen for spare nibs, i did infact have them and you saved me money from buying more ! thank you :)
Wait, what is the red ring on the left for again and what are those multiple buttons for ????
Not enough of glove dance, I need at least a 20 minute hard core glove dance! :D
MageThief lol they did yesterday and its awesome.
Huh. My iPad didn't come with the bidet option. I mean the kitchen is there, just not the bidet.
THAT'S HOW IT'S SPELLED!!! I searched for the word because I wasn't sure how to pronounce it so I just ended up describing it.
Trademark that dance brad and are the colors good out of the box or did u calibrate it, also is the pen nib springy when you press down on it?
btw if you want the tablet higher you could always just prop a book under the back legs to stand it up a bit more ^^
Absolutely LOVED the glove dance! This should be a standalone video, I think.
Hi Brad, would you recomend XP pen 12 Pro or Huion 13 Pro? Both have the same price and I cant decide, btw great video!
From what his list say and he says he prefers the xp pen
I really love you bro,
Got an ipad pro because it fit my workflow.
Would you say one is considerably better out of these 2 similarly priced screens:
XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro
Huion Kamvas Pro 12
Think both have similar sized screen, tilt, pressure levels.
And for use left handed but I think both can be flipped around and still use the controls OK still
Been back and forthing from this and the Huion 13 pro for a while now.. might have to flip a coin to decide. Wish there were stores that stocked these to try them both near me.. anyone tried both?
Hey Brad, at this point, could you recommend which you would choose to go with between the Kamvas Pro 13 or this new XP Pen Artist 13 Pro?
Loved the review! I actually bought the XP-pen artist 12 pro a few weeks ago because of your reviews about the other models of the brand. I am still waiting mine so is good to know you liked this one too. =D
What was ur opinion on it was it as good as it seems in the video??
@@cinthiago8916 Yes! The colors are a bit confusing and tend to magenta, but my main monitor is more color accurate so I just keep a navigator windows in PS opened in it so I can check from time to time. I pen broke after 1 year but a new one was ridiculous cheap. I recommend it.
Xppen case is bad btw. It seems like cool holder, but it can gives terrible nightmare. Its like opening jar lid but worse, and everyone I know get the same problem.
For anyone has a same problem to open this thing:
1. on the top of pen there is kind of syntethic leather glued on. Open that and it will expose metal with screwed.
2. Open the screw and put out the metal
3. Now you can just use pliers and twist the rig to open it
Question: where’d you learn those killer dance moves at the end of the video?
When you put on those amazing glove the grove just takes you.
Hey Brad! New subscriber and thankful for your (actual) reviews. I'm an Art Teacher in Florida and I'm looking for a tablet I can use in my classroom. This video helped make my decision on the Pro 12. Keep them coming and thanks for your help!
Drawing tablet cannot touch screen right?
What about airbar 13.3 inch? Will it work?
