Nice review, just waiting for it. I was the one who asked for test on cursor offset when tilt. So many thanks for doing this test; i love you 3,000! Previous models of those chinese brands have that offset; fortunatelly this is not the case. Tilt functionally seems to work correctly, despite that zone not recognizing pen tilt. So, this is the tablet i must buy. Thanks again.
I want to get one this will be my first drawing tablet truth be told i am not great at drawing by any means like i still don't really get perspective or form however my motor skills have improved a good amount. But i like the idea of drawing on a tablet more then on paper since you can do so much more all in one area without art stuff all over and it seems more colorful overall. So yeah maybe in 3 months or so till then i will keep drawing on paper.
I bought an artist 13.3 pro and I've been using it for 12 days with no issues, now the pen is acting up. It constantly keeps on double clicking everywhere even if I hover over an app,it opens it. I tried all solutions (uninstall/reinstalling drivers, restating my computer) found on the website and they refused.

And then the xp pen stand only has one angle as you noticed in the review which can be easily resolved by buying another stand but that would conclude to having to spend more money. Also if you're planning on the xp pen because of it being able to be used without plugging in an adaptor, I'm not sure if this also applied to the artist 13 pro but in the innovator one (don't have it) when a reviewer unplugged the adaptor the brightness decreased by 50% at max brightness. Also the artist 13 pro has poor color accuracy despite its high srgb (especially teal/cyan(i forgot)) i haven't been able to check on huion kamvas 13's color accuracy as no one pointed out out yet but i heard it was leaning on the warmer side which could be adjusted with the color settings. Also I'm sure you probably know that xp pen can change shortcuts depending on which program is used, huion kamvas pro 13, 13 (2020), pro 16, 20 and 22(2019)(pretty much any model in 2019-2020) can do that too. Also the cables, huion has an L-cable so it's slightly more durable than xp pen's straight cable. In conclusion, i would say, xp pen's selling point is the design(dial, and pen case/stand combo) and huion's would be the performance and it being cheaper. In multiple reviews I've seen people composing about how the xp pen pen needed more pressure to activate a click/stroke and as for the huion it seems pretty sensitive and it's expected as huion has the better IAF(basically the amount of pressure needed to register a click). Xp pen tablets also seems to have SLIGHT problems in tapering (as seen in this blog review that i very much trust: digitalarttabletguides.wordpress.com/2019/09/29/xp-pen-artist-12-pro-review/ digitalarttabletguides.wordpress.com/2019/03/15/xp-pen-artist-15-6-pro-review/ ) But as i said it's very slight and isn't actually a problem that much so forget that. The variability on the Xp-pen is the reason why I got a Huion Kamvas pro. The contrast and color range of the screen seems inferior to most other tablets, possibly due to their attempt at using laminated glass for the texture coating. The responsiveness is very good and is excellent when using a program like clip studio. My only regret is not getting a larger screen as the vertical screen height is not as generous as I would like.

As far as I know wacom one pressure sensitivity is only about 4k and you have only one pen button to customize. I'm not sure about the performance comparison.
Hey. I just got my Artist 13.3 Pro. I am new to this but I draw a lot. I have a question i would like to ask. Do I need to use the Adobe illustrator, or can I use another illustrator app. It's a lot of money monthly and yearly.
Hello, I'm thinking of buying this but I have some questions about the display. What is the screen used for this display? TN or IPS? Is it flicker free? I'm not sure how you test this, but I read somewhere before that it's by dimming the screen to lowest brightness setting and then filming the screen on a mobile phone. If it flickers, you will see moving lines on your mobile phone. If it's flicker free, the image will be completely solid.
Would there be a portable windows solution simioar to this form factor? I know that there are some lenovo ones right? I wouldn't really like to see a windows tablet with a pen that didn't use batteries and could be hidden inside the tablet like an spen. For low budget, it's between the XP Pen Pro models Vs the Huion Pro models. Both equally good. Just go for the one you think looks nicer. Or get the one with the less glossy matte screen protector
I just bought this for my son who is turning 15. Can you recommend the best drawing software that is good for someone who has never used a drawing tablet before?
@@teohyc Thanks for the quick reply! But, could you be more specific? is it 1kg perhaps? Laptops can vary from less than 1kg to 3kg so "lighter than a laptop" is a bit unclear. Do you think this would be too heavy to carry with a laptop?
Hi, Im getting display tablet that works well, and probably has less glitch when drawing in Krita, and Medibang. do you recommend Xp Pen Artist 13.3 Pro ? or Huion Kamvas 13 ? Thanks

@@teohyc Lol, it isn't that simple for me. I have downloaded it and installed Krita, but to have it displayed on my artist pro I need to drag and drop the window from my laptop to my artist screen. It doesn't load onto the screen by itself. I spoke to the xpen tech support and they told me to do it this way. I was wondering how does yours load?
@@teohyc It doesn't work that way, tech support said krita doesn't work like that and you need to drag and drop. Could you show me because I'm quite confused. Hello Mr Teoh, I've bought my XP Pen artist 13.3 Pro today, but when I plugged it in they say No Signal. I tried every way to solve it, following the instructions doesn't seem to help... I followed it ans it still ended up the same, No signal. Idk what to do.
Comparing the initial activation force which would you say is more sensitive for light sketchers this or the latest huion 16 pro? You showed us here a stroke doesn't start with just pen gliding over the surface how is that with the huion please? Everytime you start over I'm always like: Huh? Did I fall asleep for a sec? Some matrix stuff going on xD.
Huion and Xp-pen still use the same Oem digitizer ... i think they just re-brand it and make a proprietary driver for it . On old models you could find always the same "Uc-Logic digitizer" i don't know in these last models but the performance are pretty much the same . This products are almost on pair with wacom btw if you don't have a cintiq pro to the side for comparison you will not feel the difference i assure you . For my tastes if you really have a light hand you will not find anything better than the ipad pro with apple pencil or the old grip pen from wacom on a cintiq 27qhd maybe . Even the new pro pen need a little more activation force with standard setting but you can make the pressure curve in the way you like more than it's not a problem . you can't do the same on Huion and xp-pen unluckily ... you can only choose some pre-configured pressure curves but the standard setting are not so bad . The only bad thing of these alternative in my opinion is the driver . It's stable and lightweight but it's too simple ... it lack a lot of features .

It shouldn't work like that. Try clicking a folder to see if it selects the folder, or (double clicks) to go in the folder. If so it could be a faulty pen and you should contact XP-Pen
What do you mean when you say "You have to connect this to a computer"... Did you mean connect it to a computer for setup ONLY or connect it to a computer EVERY SINGLE TIME?

Okay very nice informative review...👍 but if you were me what would you take wacom one of xp-pen artist 13.3 pro...their prices are very very similar 😐I'm confused which one should I get...?
As far as I know wacom one pressure sensitivity is only about 4k and you have only one pen button to customize. I'm not sure about the performance comparison.
Can we use affinity designer?
Can this tablet be used for video editing? Thanks for the review! :)
It can.
Teoh Yi Chie thanks for the reply! May I ask, can the display also act as a second monitor?
@@Katiedoan88 It can.
Teoh on Tech thank you! :)
Hey. I just got my Artist 13.3 Pro. I am new to this but I draw a lot. I have a question i would like to ask. Do I need to use the Adobe illustrator, or can I use another illustrator app. It's a lot of money monthly and yearly.
There are free drawing software available. Check out Medibang Paint Pro and Krita. Or get Clip Studio Paint desktop app (one time purchase).
Hi, i dont know wich to buy, this, or kamvas 13 pro, what do you think? thanks
Is there a way to buy another spare cable for the tablet? Incase it gets damaged?
They do sell spare cables from their online store
@@teohyc 😭oh my god thank you so much! I've been looking for it, for quite some time
Hello, I'm thinking of buying this but I have some questions about the display.
How do I change the brightness level?
Would there be a portable windows solution simioar to this form factor? I know that there are some lenovo ones right? I wouldn't really like to see a windows tablet with a pen that didn't use batteries and could be hidden inside the tablet like an spen. The Samsung notebooks are crazy expensive and not worth th money at all
There are the Lenovo Miix and Surface Pro, and some other brands and models I don't remember.
can you use your fingers for touch too or only the pen? :)
It's not a touchscreen
can we use our hands to zoom in and out like we do on ipads?
No. Not a touchscreen
@@teohyc thank you :)
How are you panning/horizontal-vertical scrolling the drawing area?
Make comparison to huion kamvas 13 pro and let us know the best to buy under low budget. Thanks
For low budget, it's between the XP Pen Pro models Vs the Huion Pro models. Both equally good. Just go for the one you think looks nicer. Or get the one with the less glossy matte screen protector
@@teohyc Thanks for early reply.
Can be connected to android phone?
if u have to chose between this tablet or the 15.6 pro model, which 1 would be your option?
I prefer larger so 15.6. It also depends on how much table space you have
@@teohyc but apart from that, any other difference in how they work?
@@daviddelvado5526 Not really. I like the larger size because it feels less restricted. It's like drawing a larger vs smaller piece of paper.

Medibang Paint Pro, Sketchbook Pro, Concepts

How heavy is it? Considering of carrying this with my laptop...
Slightly lighter than laptop
@@teohyc Thanks for the quick reply! But, could you be more specific? is it 1kg perhaps? Laptops can vary from less than 1kg to 3kg so "lighter than a laptop" is a bit unclear. Do you think this would be too heavy to carry with a laptop?
@@etj1237 Lighter than similar sized 13.3-inch laptop. It's like carrying another lighter laptop.
Good job
Hi, Im getting display tablet that works well, and probably has less glitch when drawing in Krita, and Medibang. do you recommend Xp Pen Artist 13.3 Pro ? or Huion Kamvas 13 ?
Thanks
Those two have very similar drawing performance so you can choose based on other factors, e.g. shortcuts, price, warranty, design, goodies included
@@teohyc Okay, thank you.
May I ask is the Report rate important? This 13.3 pro report rate is 220 rps , higher than 15.6 pro 200 rps. I'm a bit confused which one should I get. Thank you
It's not that important.
@@teohyc Thanks a lot, then I'll go for 15.6 pro.
Could you tell me how you got Krita on the artist pro screen, did you need to load it up on pc and then drag and drop the window on the screen?
I see files on yours?
Just download and install it
@@teohyc Lol, it isn't that simple for me. I have downloaded it and installed Krita, but to have it displayed on my artist pro I need to drag and drop the window from my laptop to my artist screen. It doesn't load onto the screen by itself. I spoke to the xpen tech support and they told me to do it this way. I was wondering how does yours load?
@@bittersweet82 You need to set the XP Pen screen to the primary screen, and your laptop as the 2nd screen.
@@teohyc It doesn't work that way, tech support said krita doesn't work like that and you need to drag and drop. Could you show me because I'm quite confused. He said you need to have xpen set as monitor 2 in extended mode. The manual states this as well. I can't see your laptop and no one who does a review shows this step of setting up the monitors, I follow the manual guide and tech support states the manual is correct.
All the reviews gloss over the icky bits of set up, monitor set up ect.
I can't have them duplicated as then my xpen works but everything displays on laptop, I can't have it set like this unless I see.
I'm quite frustrated I've never had this problem before.
I am using Windows so this is obviously different as you are using mac.

I’m debating between getting this or the XP-Pen 15.6 Pro as a gift for my friend. Price isn’t an issue for me, but for reference the 15.6 is currently on sale for $319.99 and the 13.3 is $254.99. Which would you recommend?/Is worth the money?
15.6 seems to be quite worth the money at that price.
Hello Mr Teoh, I've bought my XP Pen artist 13.3 Pro today, but when I plugged it in they say No Signal. I tried every way to solve it, following the instructions doesn't seem to help... I followed it ans it still ended up the same, No signal. Idk what to do.
My guess is the cable connection is not good
Comparing the initial activation force which would you say is more sensitive for light sketchers this or the latest huion 16 pro? You showed us here a stroke doesn't start with just pen gliding over the surface how is that with the huion please?
Everytime you start over I'm always like: Huh? Did I fall asleep for a sec? Some matrix stuff going on xD.
Even with Huion, you'll still need to apply a bit of pressure to get the line
@@teohyc I see, and which one would you say seems better for light sketching or are both the same in this regard? Thank you very much :).
Very difficult to tell the difference really unless comparing side by side. But even so it's difficult. They are very similar
@@teohyc Thank you very much!
Hi Teoh, thanks for the detailed review, it is really helpful. I am just wondering if this pen display compatible with my old MacBook Pro (10.13.6) and Adobe photoshop CS6? Thank you

I find sometimes if I click a new layer, it will register many click. This is a bit frustrating... has anyone encountered this? Anyone have a solution?
It shouldn't work like that. Try clicking a folder to see if it selects the folder, or (double clicks) to go in the folder. If so it could be a faulty pen and you should contact XP-Pen
What do you mean when you say "You have to connect this to a computer"... Did you mean connect it to a computer for setup ONLY or connect it to a computer EVERY SINGLE TIME?
This is just like a monitor so it always needs to be connected to a PC to use it.

Hi I was wondering what is it that you do when the screen is small for it’s display. I can’t seem to find out how to go full screen it’s always stuck at half size. Do you know of any ways you can fix this and if so please I’d greatly appreciate it.
Not exactly sure what you mean
Well when I first got the tablet the display wasn’t full screen. I’d say around 6 out of the 13 inches was usable and the rest was blank. So I believe the resolution is shrunk but out of all my research I haven’t found a solution.
Strange. Try to set the pen display as the only display and use Windows settings to change the resolution. Or see if there are any driver settings to change. Lastly contact the company and see what they say
