- Turkey Bend, East Houston. This unassuming warehouse may not catch your eye at first glance, but a few hundred feet behind us might be the coolest pieces of Industrial decay in the city, and one that’s at the core of a massive revamp of Buffalo Bayou through the East End. Serving its life as the Houston Barge Terminal, this site is a truly one of a kind opportunity in Houston. A victim to both changes in the nature of freight shipping and the rapidly evolving cityscape, let’s explore this fascinating hidden gem in what was once the heart of Houston’s ship channel, and examine the changes coming here - and to the whole East End - over the next decade.

Can't wait for this to happen! I live about a mile from here, and I can't wait to see this come to life.
Nice. You're the first person I've seen who's covered this!
I hadn't heard about this at all. Thanks for covering it, Scott. 👏
Man I liked going here at night to get my mind off of things, sucks to know it’s going to change completely
i’ve always wanted to explore that place.
I just drove past this place there other day while doordashing. I was wondering what they planned on doing about the area. Seems to have great tree coverage too. Good to know it's turning into a park
Keep up the good work
Hey Scott. Great video! I’ve been out of touch lately because of my wife’s illness. It’s great to keep up and also to see Ian. I’m happy that you both are involved!
Thanks Duke! A fascinating place and I can't wait to see it done.
I've been in that building you showed off at the beginning. My friends who live in that area are scared that their property taxes are going to skyrocket after this transformation. I'd live around there but east Houston has horrible air quality.
Great job! Well done!
Soooooo good!!
Hey Scott, great video! You should check out and do a video about Goal Park, another transformative green space in the East End!
Didn't know about this - looking it up now!
Beautiful, i admire graffiti.
How about Buffalo Bayou work on making their current projects good rather than building more? James Bute Park is ass and build near insanely large stroads and Buffalo Bend Nature Park is a joke. Houston is a joke at this point. Always trying to build the next best thing instead of actually maintaining what is already there. No hate to you though. Great video, but Buffalo Bayou is not who you want in charge of this project. Especially when they're hiding their full plans. There were no parking lots in your video. If this was just a park, I wouldn't be worried, but they are going to zone this for commercial. That will make the parking minimums way higher than they need to be.
