I have been waiting this for a long time. Thanks to the person who recommended this. Guys, I think you should continue your King Gizzard trip with I'm In Your Mind (also live on KEXP) or the music video of Han-Tyumi & The Murder Of The Universe. Cheers from Perú.
I was waiting the whole song for them to notice! Specifically mentioned Cavs' Sabbath shirt but didn't notice when the drummer changed to Eric with the glasses and buttonup 😂
Incredible that you already got to these guys! Discovered them a few years back and have been listenting to them non-stop. Every album they release has a completely different sound and is a different genre. Progressive, Easy-Listening Jazz, Thrash Metal, Boogie, you name it. The songs Rattlesnake, The Lord of Lightning vs Balrog, The Wheel, Open Water, and Acarine would be great examples for their versatility. :)
Yeah I think their coming at it from a rapper's/producers/recording perspective. Probably used to clean vocals coming through over crisp beats which is worlds apart from when your singing full throttle in a heavy rock band and competing with 2 drums and 3 guitars. I feel like it's hard not to get that close when it's full rock band setting otherwise he'd get drowned out.
This is my first time watching you guys. I absolutely loved this. This is my favourite band of all time and it felt like I was listening to them for the first time with you guys. I lost some close friends recently and this really gave me a sense of companionship. Thank you, I really needed this.
2 years too late but god bless you. That's what honest, truthful and wholesome reaction channels provide and corporate suits fail to recognize. Companionship, family, friendship, comradery.
Just so you know, the album this is from is not only straight up free, it's copyright free. If you wanted to print it to a record and start a record company selling that's totally ok with them, they just wanted to give out an album. The album's called Polygondwanaland
Love how you both totally sunk in the musical vibes! Since this video is nearly 2 years old, I think you figured it out yourself, but the thing you both were diggin in this song is the 'polyrythmic' section (drums and bass). Also some guitar parts (3 guitarist) were provoking this polyrythmic vibe. This mixed with those psychedelic 70s vibe makes it the perfectly worked out garage sound it is. Also mic distortion mostly comes from his mic itself. Its an old technical property this mic series had when moving to close to its membrane.
Damn, you're the second person in here I've seen recommend All Them Witches - I don't personally know anyone who has heard of them, but agree with you that they would be a great choice. Good request!
Greatest rock band of the last decade, bar none. 15 albums since 2012, 5 of them in 2017 alone. If you want to have your mind blown, listen to Han-Tyumi And The Murder Of The Universe from the same band. It's a long medley of a few of the songs off the Murder Of The Universe album. Fair warning, graphic descriptions in the lyrics, but that's all I'll say... :)
Great band, and I think you are the first, or one of the first who did reaction to this:) Guess it's the power of Patreon:D All Them Witches would be another good choice. And thanks to the guy who recommended this.

When the band was deciding what they were going to be called, one member suggested "Lizard King", another suggested "Gizzard Gizzard", then right before they went on stage they introduced themselves as "King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard", combining the two names into a even better one. "Creedence Clearwater Revival" did something similar when coming up with their name.
Some of my favorite performances by them is the “I’m In Your Mind” medley and the continuation of the “Crumbling Castle” performance. If you’re gonna check them out the best version is the KEXP version!
Since this video was made, Gizz has put out a few hip hop tracks. Y’all might wanna check out the song The Grim Reaper. Ambrose, the band’s harmonica player, takes lead vocals and the man has FLOW.
