One lesson I learned from my farmer grandfather was do all the low-risk stuff FIRST with your tractor and tools before you attempt anything where you might damage or bog down the equipment. He would have recommended to first mow the main field completely then worry about trying to deal with the brush piles, just in case.
Hey all grandfathers and Dads were the same mow main easy stuff first before outside fencerow or close to creek or big ditch ( I always tried get last little bit and slide or fall into creek LOL then thefun began and Dad yelling.
Happy New Year Tim. Just looking back at 2023, this rehab cab 3520 tractor series has been not only my favorite for 2023 from any of channels I watch and subscribe, it is my favorite TTWT series ever. Learned so many things watching you take that 3520 machine apart and fix it up. Many things I have now done to my compact cab tractors, like the roof insulation I have it installed now in both of my cab 3046Rs, soon will have it in my new 4075R ESCV tractor as well. Wanted to take time to thank you for all that you do with your channel and for the tractor community. Thank you !!!
Once again the TS-10 does not disappoint. It trims extremely well, especially along the fence, and is more maneuverable than one would think…with some practice of course. “Christy the Trooper” again doing a stellar job!. Blessings.
Ive probably said this on your channel 10 times, but that Rhino mower is a dream. I would say this is the ideal setup from front of truck to tip of trailer!
Every field I mow has a hard angle on the corners. Found it easier to turn opposite of the direction you are going. Leaves. What's with you green paint guys and scratches. Lol. Nature of the beast. Enjoy
Great job of mowing and trimming. I can see that smaller tractor/cab combination has opened some eyes with what it can do. The farmer in me looking at that property just saw 100's & 100's of small bales.
regarding the 90° turns with the mower: if possible do a 270 circle to the left and you can easily align the mower nicely parallel to the fence in a straight line before the mower reaches the fence.
Tim - on mowing the square - as you finish a side drive forward and turn to the left in a cloverleaf. Make a circle and head down the next side aligned ready to mow. Bonus some of the other grass gets mowed. Keeps from backing and working in tight sides.
I would have never thought 30 hp pto would pull a 10 ft mower, I have pulled 10 ft rhinos with closer to 100hp which would choke down in tall thick grass. Very impressed. Really like your videos
I've loved watching you work on this tractor. I want one now. Maybe once the Spirit moves, and you're ready to donate it, you'll remember me. I also need me a neighbor Chris!
Just this June I mowed 5 acres for the second time using a 1025R and a RC 2048 mower. First time I mowed it the weeds/brush was well over the roll bar on the tractor and took me almost 10 hours. second time it only took 6 but the ambient temp was right around 100F ( south Texas, I think Louisiana has higher humidity) I wish I could run a cab but way too much brush and low trees. That being said while I was hot and miserable actually doing the work I would do it again in a heartbeat. Any time on a tractor is time well spent. And Yes, The U joints WILL tell you when they don't like the angle they are at.
Level ground is nice. We have to do bigger tractors to pull the slopes. Kept thinking wheel spacers would be good on that tractor-looks tipsy. Blessings
It would take longer but it might be interesting to see what the offset flail mower could do on this property, especially in and around the brush piles and on the tree line.
The refurbishment turned out great! Glad that 3520 did the job. I have a 3320 open cab which never seems to stop pleasantly surprising me. After getting out of an 8 series tractor the 3 series seems like a toy. Watching you in that A/C cab is making me jealous! Ha! Love the content, dialogue and editing.
I always loved running the batwing when I worked on the farm. Although we had it hooked up to a 275hp tractor so I didn't have to worry about the heavy stuff lol.
Yep, that cab sure makes a difference in the summer heat, and ya don’t have to eat dust while mowing! I think the finance committee needs to approve the purchase of an air conditioned filming vehicle. 😂
I was just thinking that Viny could help with the trimming and Christy said just that! The HQ682 Tough Cut on the Ventrac would be easier to maneuver close to things.
I've found that mowing the field Grass higher it gives the over burden of cut grass something to lay on till it dries out without leaving wet moldy spots also it makes a remow with in a week or two much easier with less discoloration from the decomposing overburden of the last cut
Fantastic video series Tim. Learned a lot. Still learning every episode featuring this tractor. I did the roof insulation and the Larsen lights to my cab 3046R this month. I have a new steering shaft and bushings out on the work bench now. Not sure it’s going to do anything, but thought I would try it. I did get rid of the squeak with lubricant. However now have groan/moaning sound. I have pined it down to when steering to the right, no sounds when steering left . Also worth a note: I pulled the loader off my cab 3046 and put it on the 3039R OOS and discovered 80% of that sound I was getting steering right went away. ???? Still trying to figure it out. Thanks again for this very educational series!
That tractor is actually pretty nice now with all the work you have done to it. I like the bible verse endings and see what you did there with this one.
Hi Tim & Christy. Nice job on the tower site mowing. The tractor with the upgrades looks pretty sharp. Looks hot and dry there when you did the video, but we finally got 3+ inches of rain this last Thurs, Fri, Sat, and suppose to get a little more today. Unfortunately, some areas received some damage as the storms move through. Derecho type winds in central IL on Thurs.
Just a quick critique here.... when you come to the end of a run and you are turning around or making a loop to turn a corner, raise your mower all the way up. Kinda like running a combine. Take the headlands first, then as you get to the end of a row, you lift the head, make the turn, lower the head and enter the crop. You need to set a lower stop on your mower with cyclinder spacers to keep consistant though. Not only does this leave a nicer finish and not bunch up the cut grass, but this will really help you next time. It also levels the driveline to help reduce the cv joint angle during the turn..... I know the looks are not a top priority on this job, but it's a good habit. Leaving the nice flat layer of cut grass will decompose better and not leave big piles for you to mow over next time.
Great video Tim & Christy. Have you thought about adding weights to the front with pulling the 2,200 lbs of the TS10? And I know you have those tires on and off a few times with your projects, but for easier ride and safety, spacing out your wheels will make for a smoother ride.
Hi Tim, love this video as well. I was wondering, if the owners of the towers have more and need them mowed around the Muncie, IN. area I have my 3039R with the flail mower (recommended by you of course) that can tackle things over in my neck of the woods. I would love to have more mowing properties to use the Maschio flail mower on. I agree, the cab does make a difference to remain more comfortable when it's really hot out and you are working in the heat or cold for hours on end. The air ride seat, oh so comfy. I was glad to see that you added it to your used tractor. That makes the comfort level go up even more for sure. If you have people that contact you about projects that are just too far for you to travel on the east side of the state, I wouldn't mind having you direct people my way to see if there is something I can do to help people out. I'm retired from my regular job and just do tractor work to help people out and I make just a little bit of cash on the side doing projects. Most of my attachments are from recommendations you have made from watching your videos. I can actually see how the attachments function and how well they perform before spending the money to make the purchase. It has helped me out tremendously for making wise choices in the attachments. Thanks again for all that you do and keep them coming. I love learning more about the capabilities of the tractors and some really good attachments that are well built and do amazing things with nearly perfect results. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to doing jobs and probably put more time into projects that most would as I want the work, I do to look great when completed. I bought the Maschio flail mower for a commercial property I used it for 3 years until it was just sold this summer. So now I need more to help offset the expense. So just keep me in mind for any projects on the east side of the state around the Muncie, IN. area if things are just too far for you to travel.
Great job on the rehab and I like how well it works in this situation. Makes me want to go out and grab one. The 3520 was a pretty popular model for the municipalities and landscapers here in northern New England

Good job , just think of the fun you'd have mowing with a ford 8 or 9 n. I spent many hours mowing with a 8n when was a kid till we got a john deere 1934 A
It looks funny from behind that little neuro tracker in front of that wide Batwing😊 will you put a front end loader on that tractor or will you just use it for cutting grass and brush?
You have that tractor looking good Tim. Growing up on the farm I found that three point hitch PTO driven implements weren’t near as easy to use as pull type. Also, as far as I can tell that tractor has a naturally aspirated engine, I’ll bet a turbocharger would boost the power to handle that mower rather nicely.
The ten foot bat wing makes a difference. I thought it cut very well and the extra weight for the cab, really didn’t seem to bother the tractor at all!!
I’ve watched in a few of your videos where you have said your view, have suggest not to sharpening the blades on your flex swing because you will ruin them. Mine have gotten to the point on my flex wing where I have to sharpen them. So every time I grease it, I take a couple swipes with a grinder to put a EDGE on it. Leaving the blades dole is extremely hard on gear boxes, U joints, drive lines, engine, gear in going to the PTO, Tractor, etc.. the only time I replace blades is when they are getting rounded on the tips and hurting the quality of the cut
I bought a semi-mount 10' bush hog from a neighbor a few years ago and pull it with my 4610 Ford. The convenience of turning would've sped you up a little. I don't know that you'd be tremendously faster, but I think it's faster around the trees. I'm a little jealous of your cab though.
Yea, you are right. However, the 'flex wing' aspect allows this mower to do a tremendous job. I can mow close to the ground without scalping. Overall, I love this TS10
@@TractorTimewithTim I would love to have the flex for the sole purpose of transport, but it appears to do a great job too. I’m amazed by how little hp it takes but in looking at it, the gear box is probably too far forward to get it in semi-mount.
I prefer the almost too big implements. I can always take a smaller path, shallower cut, or go slower for some parts. Then, I have a perfectly sized implement for my next, bigger tractor
Wow, I guess in a pinch, I could use my Grand L 3560. I think the Hp would be about the same. It's nice to see the fruit of your rehab labor in action! I do agree with Christy that Vinnie, with the tough cut, would have great on the trimming of this property.
In a real pinch you could, but it will be taxing. I have a L3540 and bought it to replace a L4310 (without a loader) as I mow with a 12’ Befco mower. The L3540 mowing the lawn struggled when it was too hot and the AC was on, on a slight hill or when the grass was a little wet. The TS 10 Tim has is 2,200 pounds my Befco lawn mower is 2,800 pounds. I went back to the L4310 to mow, made the L3540 my deer trail, grapple 5’ brush hog tractor and saved up and bought an L6060 with a 12’ Landpride rotary cutter The L3560 is a sweet machine, but flexwing rotary cutters are tanks.
The L6060 is a cab, all my Kubotas are cabs, my allergies are baaad and I hate the cold in the winter. The L6060 is a dream combo with the 12’ batwing Plenty of horsepower, plenty of AC, the cab is bigger and I feel it is wider / more stable on hills
@chrisjordan7441 Unfortunately, we use open stations. We have so along with pasture it wouldn't have been practical for our needs. Our dealer showed me a 6060 open station a couple of years before we bought our 3560. I was impressed, but we weren't ready to buy, and I t was too big for our needs. I knew we would either go with either a small Grand L or a JD 3R Series. One thing I really like on our Grand L is the auto SSQA for our FEL attachments and the fuel cap at the floor rather than on a fender or on a hood of the engine. I also like that Kubota got rid of the traditional treadle peddle on t h e Grand L series.
Thank you Christy, for sweating in the dust to film this for us! The rehab project certainly came out nice, and Tower 2 is a cool little lot.
One lesson I learned from my farmer grandfather was do all the low-risk stuff FIRST with your tractor and tools before you attempt anything where you might damage or bog down the equipment. A good way to make that sharp 90° turn to the right on the first pass is to make a 270° loop to the left.
Brave going over the stop blocks with blades still going. Just means you know your equipment.
tim i recomend a set of bora spacers on the back and then putting the front rims on where they dish out for better stability
Thanks Tim for that demonstration. I didn't think a 3520 had a prayer when it came to running that mower. Great video, well done.
I think that was my favorite sign-off yet! 😂😂😂
Ive probably said this on your channel 10 times, but that Rhino mower is a dream. I would say this is the ideal setup from front of truck to tip of trailer!

The 3520 looks great! The older I get the more I want a cab.
3520 did a great job! It looks great. Nice work restoring it.
Great job of mowing and trimming. I can see that smaller tractor/cab combination has opened some eyes with what it can do. The farmer in me looking at that property just saw 100's & 100's of small bales.
That’s a great mower. I love that thing. Happy 4th of July !!
Great job, old boy. It's looking good 👍🏻.
🟢Nice Tractor Tim.!!! Enjoy your Videos.!!!🟢
Let’s get started. Great video
I always enjoy your videos Tim and Christy great job. Christy I was thinking Vinny as well. 🙂

Christy should at least have an umbrella that you drive in the ground for shade! Nice that Tim's upgrades worked out.
I enjoyed the video. It was like a flashback to the old TTWT.
Tractor looks like new ! Love those tires
I would have never thought 30 hp pto would pull a 10 ft mower, I have pulled 10 ft rhinos with closer to 100hp which would choke down in tall thick grass. Very impressed. Really like your videos

You did a lot of work on the tractor and it shows when it's back to working. Great job.
Thank you! You always make me smile. I think Vinny and the boom mower needs to trim some of those branches.
Boy, good job to all that worked on that tractor it looks great.
Little money sweat it turned out great.
Level ground is nice. We have to do bigger tractors to pull the slopes. Kept thinking wheel spacers would be good on that tractor-looks tipsy. Blessings
I have a couple of wider settings for the tires. May have to set them out a bit more.
The 3520 did a great job in combination with the flexwing mower. The rehabbed 3520 looks like it will be a keeper!
Lets not forget the Ventrac MWMY Flail Mower. You are cutting mostly grass here so the fine cut blades might be an interesting comparison.
Great video as always it looks like a relaxing job to cut grass like that thinking it might be a retirement goal for me
Have to find a way to get a mowing company going, so enjoyable
Christy should be behind you with one of the other tractors with a spin rake raking it into rows
Looks like a great job by the 3520 and the 10 ft mower. Vinny would make short work of all the trimming. Great camera work Christy.
Great job on the refurbishment of the 3520 tractor! It really looks great! All that hard work makes it worth it!
i was not sure about a hst trans in looking for a tractor but ended up with hst and fins i really like it far better than first thought
The pluses and minuses of a cab are shown here today.
I have the same issues with the ROPS (and lights) on my 1025R while mowing near and under trees!
It would take longer but it might be interesting to see what the offset flail mower could do on this property, especially in and around the brush piles and on the tree line.
Though it might be slower on the fast parts, it might be faster on the slow parts.
Impressive that the used 37 hp did that. Nice tractor. It would take a fair amount of hp to run that mower even without doing the cutting.
The ts10 is rated for 25-60 PTO HP
That looks like an Old AT&T Long Lines location!!!
That tractor would look cool with the set of duels on the back
I always loved running the batwing when I worked on the farm. Although we had it hooked up to a 275hp tractor so I didn't have to worry about the heavy stuff lol.
You read my mine, let's see what it can do... Still a GREAT video.... 😊
Yep, that cab sure makes a difference in the summer heat, and ya don’t have to eat dust while mowing! I think the finance committee needs to approve the purchase of an air conditioned filming vehicle. 😂
Yes it does! -Christy
Great video Tim!
The 3520 looks great after the rehab! And it looked good mowing the tower lot.
Awesome job thank you both job well done 👏

We got maybe an inch total over 3 days.
Absolutely love this channel. I also run a 5075e and mowing with it is very peaceful and enjoyable.
Thanks 👍
Nice job guys! The right tools make light work of it!
Just a quick critique here.... when you come to the end of a run and you are turning around or making a loop to turn a corner, raise your mower all the way up. Kinda like running a combine. Vinny and the boom mower to trim the tree limbs back. But you have to make another trip to haul it.

Looks like a good job
Great job on the rehab and I like how well it works in this situation. Makes me want to go out and grab one. The 3520 was a pretty popular model for the municipalities and landscapers here in northern New England
Thanks for all your videos. I have learned bunches from you both.
I know this video was about your new auction tractor…but what I got most out of it was that you carry your Sthl GTA 26 with you to knock down those rogue branches. How novel a idea.
New must carry when mowing pasteluer now
Thanks
Great video, would love to see another video on the Hardee brush tiger or see you get a Lane Shark for comparison!
If you do the over lap as you are here you will do a better job of cutting than going full swaff. Doing a great job. Nice ! Enjoy your videos.
Not really…in the case of a 3 spindle flex wing. No need to overlap.
When y’all get a chance I what to see if you can show the mosko square baler
Looks great! I wish my 3520 had a cab ❤
Nice video tim and kristie and nice job with the johnny 👌👌

I bought a loader for it. Loaned it to Tom and Randall.
I brush hog my property without a loader on my cabbed tractor, to many trees and obstacles. Those loaders stick out front farther than you think!
The 3520 looks great! I hope it has turned out to be a good investment from a content perspective.
Good job Tim

Bring it out!
Good job!!!!
Nice work on the JD improvements, I'm mowing 4 acres with a Troybilt push mower.😂
Many more of these jobs and you'll need a baler. Don't forget to holler at me at the State Fair Pioneer Village.

Nothing like a mowing job to relax you! I don’t know if I missed it, did you say how long the actual job took once you were unloaded?
A couple of hours there.
With preparations, travel, etc, it was all day.
Boy it cuts good
3520 would be a great tractor for a turbo!
It has a turbo.
@@TractorTimewithTim Then time to turn the fuel screw a little :)
that rhino mows so nice im going to try and find myself one
Yes it does. If you need help finding a dealer, let me know.
I went back to the L4310 to mow, made the L3540 my deer trail, grapple 5’ brush hog tractor and saved up and bought an L6060 with a 12’ Landpride rotary cutter
The L3560 is a sweet machine, but flexwing rotary cutters are tanks.
@chrisjordan7441 How does your Grand L 6060 handle that 12 foot batwing and I guess it's a cab tractor?
The L6060 is a cab, all my Kubotas are cabs, my allergies are baaad and I hate the cold in the winter.
The L6060 is a dream combo with the 12’ batwing
Plenty of horsepower, plenty of AC, the cab is bigger and I feel it is wider / more stable on hills
Probably has some orchard grass mixed in.
You got a lot of work out of a small(ish) tractor. Shows the benefit of a hydrostatic trans for mowing.
Love the video, just wondering if its about time for the kubota to make an apearance?😅
Would love to see you use the Ventrac or the 12ft Woods Batwing Finish mower on this property
Vinny would work great on this job you can use finis to do the trimming you haven't used a sickle and Vinny in a long time
Great video!
Christy Tim needs to give you a pay raise for standing in the heat and dust.
