Appreciate the non-sponsored content. Certain other tractor youtubers have turned every video into an advertisement and in doing so have lost all credibility in my eyes

@@user-gg7hc8ht1dhe was a shill from day one of course that's his whole deal is selling tractors and now just attachments but he does such dumb things then bashes the equipment when it was his fault to begin with I have a hard time watching him anymore

Good Works Tractors did a video a while back addressing his commercial approach. He did say his videos were made to promote his businesses, with his version of "practical" content to support his goal of sales. You just have to decide what you want to take in. This isn't to defend him...I just happened to first see his disclsimer early on, and glean through all YT videos for my interests and questions on projects. One of the first tractoring channels I ever saw when I was getting a new tractor and implements was TTWT. While I don't farm big acreage, I found ag videos interesting. By that same token, I have no need to soup up a 1025R with hydraulic pumps and turbos...I pick and choose. That's how YT is, and it has a very large monetization component, so pick whether the presentations fit your sensibilities and needs. Monetization doesn't mean the creator is always doing a sales pitch...TTWT is a best example. Just have to glean. Keep up your efforts, Tim. 👍🏻👍🏻

Sponsored videos imply a solution looking for a problem.

I grew up on a farm in NJ, back when it truly was the garden state. Our frame was 63 acres. We had a 50x 200 ft pond with about 25 springs to keep it full plus drainage ditch in and a discharge stream. It had filled in over time so my dad hired a drag line to dig it to about 20 ft depth. We had a v8 irrigation pump that could run four 200 yard lines at once. Only one time during a bad drought did we pull the pond down by running 24 hrs a day. It is not good for the springs to run the pond down so my dad asked the neighbor who used an artesian well for irrigation to help and he ran his pump into the drainage ditch witch fed our pond and filled it back up. You need a drag line.

  • @hoyks1
    @hoyks1 ปีที่แล้ว

With the foot valve: if you tie it onto a 5gal barrel with a short length of wire or rope, you can then push it into the deepest part of the pond and suck cleaner water for longer. It will float just below the surface and won't get clogged in mud, so you won't have to mess with it as often.
A rope tied to the foot valve and back to the shore is also a good idea for if any of the camlocks work loose so you don't have to go swimming to retrieve the foot valve.

I filled in a 1/2 acre ravine in 2017 and it was graded and seeded. It took better than two years before I had a good stand of grass. Pelletized lime, some fertilizer, God's rain and...... patience! You will be mowing that lawn regularly before you know it. Chris Gunn, Letsdigit18, does a fine job lining his ponds with clay. Renting a good size excavator for a week or less will be good video material. You are very capable.... and you do it! Best wishes.

One additional thing to consider about a well done large pond, you may benefit insurance wise for fire protection. If you have 20,000+ gallons accessible to your FD in an area without municipal water supply it increases property protection. Something to check into at least. Now if you’re going to get municipal water from the housing development, a pond is just landscaping.

I have Drained a bunch of ponds to clean the sediment out. (landfill runoff retention Ponds) You can tie a couple gallon jugs to float your foot valves (set 2 or 3 feet below the surface), then tie a long rope to it, then you can drag foot valve to the deepest part from the other side.. a five gallon with holes or slits over the foot basket will keep the big muck from clogging the screen as fast...

Tim, about the irrigation… once the lawn becomes established you should have no problem with a pond. Growing up we had 8 acres with a pond, 2 acres mowed and trees and shrubs and plants with gardens all with automated watering.
All the watering came from a pump house from the pond which was required by local laws due to the septic.

I say, do both kinds of products and somebody wants to give you stuff to review then just review it honestly and go for it. It’s the Internet, no matter what you do there will always be haters and people who complain about what you do, just ignore them. This is a great idea. I may have thought to irrigate with that water, but I had no idea trash pump wouldn’t be strong enough. I would’ve thought it would be too strong, but I learned some thing and it was interesting and whether it’s sponsored or not, doesn’t really matter. I’m sure some people complain about it but I knew nothing about it’s interesting and people don’t wanna believe it and buy the products then they don’t have to.

Mornin’ Tim, appreciate ALL the content. Just take us along wherever the Lord leads both of you.
You sounded a little tired in this one, so I pray rest and health and the joy of the Lord be yours. And of course, in Jesus mighty name I pray. So be it, Amen.

I personally prefer non sponsor products. My reason behind that is because then I think that you can offer a honest review with a non bias opinion.

Have you seen us show bias toward a sponsor? We do our best to provide accurate reviews. The LAST thing we want is for a viewer to buy a product from our recommendation, then find it lacking.

I don't know necessarily if you all been biased or not . When a channel becomes really big with a lot of sponsors. I've attency to Unsubscribe from that channel.

The farmer in you is really coming out now. As far as showing sponsored products or non sponsored products does not make any difference to me. Enjoy your content.

U need a float on the suction end of the uptake so the the uptake can take water off the top of the pond. Unless you want it pulling all the muck then run a rope across the pond and pull it to deeper water.

I like to see attachments for the compact and subcompact tractor and how to best use them. I don't care if they are sponsored or unsponsored as long as you are honest about what you think of them.

Thanks. Financially, there is no way we could show all of the attachments we show without help from the manufacturers.

Good to see you watering your grass , Down here our whole sprinkler system for the grass runs off the ponds. They seem to stay full , even during this hot weather. And the grass stays green so pound sprinkling systems seem to work. Me I do not know how , happy 4th to you and your family…

I don’t care for sponsored videos but sometimes the information is helpful.

Keep the pond if you can. Heck maybe expand the pond since you have quite a lot of land, put a little boat dock and pergolas / pavillion over a nice concrete surface. I love spending other people's money. ha,ha Not that you need them or want to but I'd install pressure gauges on the suction and discharge of the pump as well as a gauge up by the sprinkler nozzle. Good info for understanding the pump curves and nozzle.
This video reminds me of my previous job where our contractor would run a 3-point Crisafulli pump on their John Deere 3 or 4 series. Transferring water from one cell to the other. The only thing that tractor did was run that pump. I bet I watched it transfer water for over 10 years. To clean ponds our contractor used a long reach excavator. They also had a good dozer operator who could shape the sides and do any finish work if needed. For some of our lined ponds we used a drudge and left about 6" on the bottom. Some of them we put a chemical in them to kill the algae.

Tim agree or disagree on things I’ve been a follower for a long time. I enjoy your content and variety is the spice of life. I have google and everyone out there who wants to sell me a product can make a video to inform me about it it. That being said I don’t think you ever came off as a salesman for anything other than John Deere 😂😂. The discount codes are nice but 5% will never be enough to determine whether or not I buy something. Keep up the good work and let the haters ( including me sometimes) hate! Also what does it take to get you on a 110 TLB. Loader, backhoe, removable backhoe and three point hitch and PTO and it’s a hydro and it’s a Deere, CMon Man!

I've always thought of it as you showing what was available. I'm goina buy what I need regardless and I like knowing what's out there. If I were a manufacture I would be excited to have you showcase my product. I don't know why you would drain that pond, I would clean it out deeper and use it for irrigation. You already have the equipment (and frogs). 🤠
