As someone that has run mowers like this in large ag situations, from mowing ditches to shredding corn stalks, I would say your overlap was extremely minimal, and and it appears you did a great job.
No kidding. A strip means you have to go run everything twice. Id rather mow 110% of the field with that kind of overlap than 200% as much by missing bits and having to do it twice.
Tim those derogatory comment I would say come from people with little to no experience using a tractor or a mower like you’re using. I honestly think you’re doing a great job. And I want to thank you for your content.
Yes!! Timmy Time With Tractors on Wednesday. Should keep an electric blower handy to blast debris out of the screens to pop hood and blow inside out. Bet you wish you had a canopy on that Tractor.
Thanks Tim. I like the Rhino 10' flex wing the best out of all the mowers you demo. It cuts really nice and even though you had the deck angle off a bit you did a great job. Seems to me the overlaps are perfect. No misses and nice straight cut lines.
Hi Tim and Christy another great video. Want to give my opinion on those haters' comments. Unfortunately you will have as you are surely aware of, but all you can hope for is they move on to another channel. I think you folks are great people and do a good job at what you do.
As always the TS-10 does a great job of mowing. And, as you pointed out its size and broad horsepower rating makes it a good choice for a wide variety of users. Blessings.
That looks like the grass I mowed today with my JD S140. Since I just bought the JD this was the first cut this year. My old riding mower (Craftsman) although a tough mower just wasn't going to do the job. So, the new mower stands up, and as gently as I could, I took down the hay. The mower is still in break in period, so I did only a part of the lawn. The other two parts I did earlier. Nice to see I'm not the only one letting the bees have a buffet. GB
That's waveguide lying there, surprised nobody has stole that. I use to climb those, when I was a younger man, to hang the equipment. Great job cleaning the site!!
Looks good Tim, I mow with the TS12 with my 5075E. Its a cab and gear drive and is very well suited for the task but that 3046r doesn’t seem to struggle at. Nice setup for sure!!
I do enjoy your mowing episodes - very therapeutic! It'd be great to see you using a smaller tedder or rake on the tractor to see if you could pull one - especially on tower 1 or 2.
You're doing a good job with the sizw and type of mower. Your overlap is cleaning up the tire track on the inside. A Woods HD990 3 pt mite be abetter fit for the tractor. The 990 is 3 spindles with 22 blades each takes less hp to run and leaves a finish like cut.
You can overlap as much as you want on your projects, which are probably billed by acreage. My only gripe about excessive overlap would be to somebody I am paying by the hour, but it would be only if a HUGE overlap(like greater than 30% of cut width). Overlap helps recut what may have been pushed down by the wheels, although a batwing probably helps stir up whatever the tractor laid down, so 10-20% would aid in keeping the turns neater.
In grass like that I would strongly consider using a sickle mower. They cut well, cut fast and are much easier on the tractor. Just a thought - great video though. Thanks for sharing.
I love that you show your mistakes.; it makes you more relatable. I make similar mistakes! As J. Vernon McGee would say, May the LORD richly bless you.”
Something to think about when mowing with the smaller tractor and the flex wing is, hills. If the weight of the mower is more then tractor it could take u for a ride. I run into that with my 5075e and an exact 1,000lbs of wheel weights pulling my 12 ft batwing. Level ground or mild hills would be fine but here in pa u would end up somewhere u don't want to be.
If you would like to get rid of burdock with out spraying. You can push a shovel right along the base of the plant at least 6" an pull back on the shovel till you hear a pop that will kill it. You can then pull the plant out of the ground and put it were your going to mow and make fertilizer. Just make sure it has not gone to sed yet.
I'd say my only criticism would be you should have looked at the angle of the mower before you started mowing. But who am I to criticize? You do great keep it up.
There will always be a lot of experts until they have done the job you are doing I have a lot of hog experience and I can tell stories I ran a 6ft commercially
Hay man just keep mowing low and over lapping that way the hatters don’t have to work so hard you know for a fact there is more than one right way to do things at the end it’s how you feel I love the fresh cut look
The best times I had pulling a mower is to have a belly mower cutting at the same time. It makes cutting the whoops missed that corner much easier. Naturally Big mowers like this only drag. This is a nice large one. 8' would suit me. For now my 5' gets the job done.
C'mon Tim, with multiple tractors in the fleet, checking the angle of the dangle is needed with each hitch up. End result looks good and the slower speed made the tractor ride just like a Cadillac! Definitely not a fan of poison ivy!
Hey Tim, I know it's none of my business, but I'm a little curious about the business arrangement, when you showed up to #3 and were surprised that it was already mowed. I ask because I am in the process of starting up my retirement gig of doing brush hogging & field mowing, and would not be impressed if I showed up to a client property and it was already done. - Very impressed with that mower !
This one is weird. It is right by someone’s house. They often mow it for free. No worries to me. I have talked to them, and am aware of the situations. In fact, I expected it to be mowed. …but was prepared to mow if needed.
...Put this 10ft mower in corn stalks at the family farm this fall or better yet get the whole lineup out there on a couple tractors!!! (flail included!)👌👍
I just did some checking on the missing subscriptions.... what I found was that the subscriptions are dropping from the slider on the left. 81 of mine vanished. However, if you go to the "show all subscriptions" at the bottom of the left hand subscription scroller, you will find ALL of your subscriptions, in alphabetical order. So, it appears people are not being unsubscribed, just that that scroll window is not showing all of the subscriptions. I am wondering if TH-cam put a limit on the number of subs that will show on the slider without telling anyone and it randomly drops anything over the limit. My limit is 101 Subs. Anything over that and they do not show on the slider.
I’m just curious.. why not use the 5075e when doing work like that? Looks like it would ride so much better with the bigger tires and more weight. And of course handle the mower much better
Right now, the 5075e is 3+ hours away at my family’s farm. It is taller, and would not work well trimming around those trees. Also, folks enjoy seeing the smaller tractors on this mower.
@@TractorTimewithTim oh ok gotcha.. I like seeing the small tractors too but just seems more practical to do it with the big one. Thanks for answering!
I can’t get it attached to Johnny X. The PTO is too close to the drawbar, and the drawbar is too close to the ground. Not an issue for ‘normal people’, as 1025r not large enough for this mower anyway.

At least with finish mowers it's good to have the front edge of the deck lower for cut quality, maybe not quite as much you had the TS-10.
My dad's viewpoint was he liked dulled blades so trees made mushroom stubs instead of sharp, clean cut stumps that easily enter a tire.
