As a Maine native, it always does my heart good to see anyone in the food TH-cam world visiting my home state, but I strongly suggest getting further north than Portland - You'll find a lot of great small mom and pop shops and if you can make it in the mid spring to late spring, you can look for restaurants putting one of our local seasonal delicacies out, fiddlehead ferns. Trust me, I think this is an ingredient that you will absolutely LOVE. Also, if you love good sandwiches, go to the Waterville/Winslow area and look for Big G's sandwiches. HUGE portions for a great price.

From here on out, I am requesting everything I eat be finished off with a luxurious sauce poured out of a sterling silver carafe just like that clarified butter 😅
My best friend is a Mainer and we spend every summer in Southern Maine…never eat a lobster over 1.5lbs - and ask for a soft shell - bigger ones aren’t as sweet And there are much better places than Boone’s…Highroller is pretty legit though
@@RaxaPKXD Me neither, and it's because of these prices. Lobster is always ridiculously priced and I always go for the (much cheaper, and more filling) steak instead.
Around Chicago we can get fresh seafood but it's pricy. At least that is what I used to think. These prices are higher than what I pay in Downtown including flying it here...
Please tell me where? I've been here for 3 years and I miss good seafood so much. I'm nervous without a good recommendation to dish out for a seafood feast here. I'm originally from Boston so I was used to having lobster tanks in my local supermarket and full seafood stores.
I think mike got robbed that lobster’s tail meat. I feel the lobster stuffing is pre-mixed. So they take the original tail, set it aside and added the premixed stuffings. That’s why you don’t see any lobster’s meat.
Nope. It’s not premixed. There was tons of lobster meat in that tail. It’s all along the sides. They don’t take out the lobster meat from the lobster and resting it. They wanted to film the killing of the lobster to see that it’s just split and stuffed but that’s a no go!
I live in Maine, MOXIE is the only SODA. I prefer my lobster with butter and lemon. but i might try that stuffed lobster next time I am in Portland. love your vids Mikey...
8:45 You absolutely paid more than $300 for that lobster. Come on. We don't live in colonials days anymore when lobsters that big were picked 20 feet off the shore.
Scrumptious looking! Love lobster rolls. The combination of melted butter and lobster is my fantasy of heavenly food. Lobster stuffing is on my list now. Sushi burger??? My goodness!! What an unbelievable looking sandwich. Sushi Pizza??? Now I’ve seen everything!! Oysters? Scallops in the dressing? I’m surprised you didn’t swim off into the sunset😅
I went to Maine this year and decided to skip the lobster rolls after this place. Not that they were bad at all but in the area you can get whole lobster, clam and potato combo for less than the cost of a roll
Yo instead of giving Mike a hard time because he gives a baseline of local known places. Give him comments about non tourist traps and tell him about the real local experience
What’s with the over emphasis of the first syllable of every word? Do you think you need to speak like this to get people’s attention? The over dramatic delivery makes you seem insincere.
Mike I was wondering when you would visit my home town!! Best seafood in the US!! Glad you enjoyed your time there! We actually have a wonderful food atmosphere in general so many different cultures! Portland is Maines little melting pot! ❤
That looks wonderful! The only thing that I don't like is ALL that butter! The cream with the lobster is good with me, I watch what I put in my body, especially oils! AZ Zapata
Ive always been told never eat a lobster over two pounds anyway. Sweeter and cheaper lol Seems like you got majorly scammed on that massive stuffed lobster 🦞
The first taste as it goes into your mouth is like Cheerwine... however very soon after that it finishes tasting like a mouthfull of motor oil. Worst drink ever.
Then don’t eat there. You could try cooking something almost the same at home for much less cost and fairly low effort. You’re just whining. $75 (less than a days work at even the lowest paid jobs in the US) for a very nice meal really doesn’t seem like a stretch, especially if you just saved $2 a day and had a payday treat. Ditch the morning coffee, save smart, go on holiday and eat well - life is too short to be lazy and complain. Respectfully, don’t get left behind.
I think they took the lobster meat out and sold it elsewhere then stuffed the shell with assorted breadcrumbs spare parts of chopped seafood and cheese. Only thing authentic was the claws.
The way Mike describes the "drizzle" of butter at 3:00 reminds me of the "2 shots" of vodka lady
When the lobster is so expensive, Mikey just says 'Market Price' LOL.
I'm glad I'm not the only one surprised about the prices
Been living under a rock? Take a look at fast food prices. In 1-2 years, they'll be unaffordable as well. Nothing surprising.

Lol, thought the same thing. just across the border in NB
Mom and pop shops are not usually going to pay him for a review. That's why he avoids them.

The sushi rice sandwich looks so beautiful. I would absolutely love this!
From here on out, I am requesting everything I eat be finished off with a luxurious sauce poured out of a sterling silver carafe just like that clarified butter 😅
My bucket list MUST
omg.. looks so amazing but it is 2000 miles away.. Love your enthusiam about eating such wonderful food
Only in America was that a "drizzle" of butter! 😂
Im surprised mike didn't dip his lobster roll into the clam chowder
My best friend is a Mainer and we spend every summer in Southern Maine…never eat a lobster over 1.5lbs - and ask for a soft shell - bigger ones aren’t as sweet

Awesome food in my home State of Maine . I grew up in Kittery which has serious updates now. Thanks for eating our staple food and beverage.
looked soo mouth watering 🥰🥰🤤🤤 hope you enjoyed 🥂♥️
Mike!!! I love your beyond science show. Can u bring that back???
that lobster, wowza!
Watching this immediately made me hungry, everything looked so good!
$30 for a lobster roll is insane. I thought the $25 rolls here in DC was expensive but this takes the cake
Never had lobster... 🤔
@@RaxaPKXD Me neither, and it's because of these prices. Lobster is always ridiculously priced and I always go for the (much cheaper, and more filling) steak instead.
@@RaxaPKXD I think it's a little overrated. The tail meat is way better than the claws. I'll take crab any day over lobster!
yeah that's crazy. You can get it in LA for $18-24. But will say that roll Mike ate is huge!
It would be but we all know Mikey didn't pay a cent....
Thank you Mike.

Butter Drizzle!?..Butter Swamp!!! 🙈🇦🇺👍 Looks good though😋

Agreed! A lobster that big should have been bursting with meat, not morsels!
Nope. It’s not premixed. There was tons of lobster meat in that tail. It’s all along the sides. They don’t take out the lobster meat from the lobster and resting it.
They wanted to film the killing of the lobster to see that it’s just split and stuffed but that’s a no go!
Doesn't want his lobster drowned in butter, and then proceeds to drown his lobster in butter. Interesting.
Wow! Love the butter!!
Boone’s is amazing!
Bucket List !! LoL😘😂
I live in Maine, MOXIE is the only SODA. I prefer my lobster with butter and lemon. but i might try that stuffed lobster next time I am in Portland. love your vids Mikey...
I went to Bite Into Maine every weekend in the summer when I lived in SoPo.. only place where I get my lobster rolls. Great choices as always Mike!
5:01 Mikey still can;t say chocolatey, eh? 🤣
Awesome job Mikey
God bless everyone
Hey Mike... I'm a lobster fan
But it's expensive, so I can't indulge a lot. Everything looks great. Enjoy!! 🤤😋❤️🐞😁
haven't been to Portland in years! use to love going to the outlet in woodburn
Looks yummy, but that Corn Lobster (corndog style) you had in Florida in that little hole-in-the-wall place. Still am going to make one !
Wow! Giant claw!
watching him dig into the stuffed lobster, i could tell i hardly saw or heard him mention lobster in it
I eat lobster rolls all summer long. That first one they make for you is way more than 4 oz
8:45 You absolutely paid more than $300 for that lobster. Come on. We don't live in colonials days anymore when lobsters that big were picked 20 feet off the shore.
Is it a sushi pizza or a sushi tostada? Great lobster journey.
So good vibes ❤❤❤❤
Watching this got me so jealous of all of the lobster he was eating that I am going to tell my hubby that I want Lobster Rolls soon for dinner.. LOL.
Love the east coast representation. You should checkout my hometown Portsmouth NH they have some great food and some really iconic locations
How long are you gonna be in the area ?!
U are in my neck of the woods welcome my friend ❤
Portland, Maine?! Welcome!
My definition of drizzle is completely blown apart now
Mikey being talented for saving the nose tip from sauce and cheese 😂💙
Orders a 4lb lobster. wow this is hugeeeeeeeeee.
also never seen someone that supposedly hates sweets eat so many sweets
Bro u good? 😂
@@mandy11254triggered😂
I will never understand how people can describe any seafood as sweet
Fresh seafood often do have a natural sweetness.😅
Did anyone notice the way he said "chocolaty"
Yes, he says "chalkity" because he can't say chocolaty.
Heading to Maine in less than a month and definitely trying some of these places
The perfect timing, I'm just about to have my dinner, and I can't do that unless it's a vedio from Mike
That lobster claw looked so big and tasty... I have never eaten lobster and I want a sample :)
I don't like lobster. Alot of people don't. You might not be missing anything
Wow- now you are in my neck of the woods and so glad you enjoyed!! 👏👏👏
ayee you're in my neck of the woods..
Maine my home state, but I’ll stick to the original lobstah roll and Humpty Dumpty chips
anyone here remember the times when Mike ate something a mortal could afford?
Exactly!😢
Sucks to be poor.... Glad that he succeeded tho. Good for him.
Can't afford a $10 dollar meal?
I went to Maine this year and decided to skip the lobster rolls after this place. Not that they were bad at all but in the area you can get whole lobster, clam and potato combo for less than the cost of a roll
Been watchibg for so long haha.
Yo instead of giving Mike a hard time because he gives a baseline of local known places. Give him comments about non tourist traps and tell him about the real local experience
You lucky person. I was in Maine and never got not one single lobster.
Moxie is the second worst soft drink ever made. The worst? Diet Moxie.
Bring back SCARY STORY TIME with Mikey please!!
I second this!!!
Me too!! Halloween is coming up!
👻 🎃
Miss story time
That’s insane prices to pay for lobster rolls.
Came here to say the same thing.
Not as insane as fast food prices nowadays 😂
The oysters are my favorite 🤩
Yay! Mikey finally came to Maine, welcome!
Also so glad you liked Moxie, most out of staters can't stand it!
OMG I love the Profile pic, not much people know about the wild force series
You could have told us the price using the Market Price that day! So its probably way expensive when you dont want to say? 😂
Easily minimum $50-70
What’s with the over emphasis of the first syllable of every word? Do you think you need to speak like this to get people’s attention? The over dramatic delivery makes you seem insincere.
Looks so good
sounds like the original mikey chen is back.
Fk yeah🎉
Sup mike
Mike i love right next to Portland!!!!! Are you still in Maine?????
Live* right next to Portland
Mike I was wondering when you would visit my home town!! Best seafood in the US!! Glad you enjoyed your time there! We actually have a wonderful food atmosphere in general so many different cultures! Portland is Maines little melting pot! ❤
Whoa thts alot of butter😮
At 6:12 that bite looks way, way exaggerated. Trying to make it look bigger than it is!! Lol!
That stuffed lobster though looked delicious seemed a bit like a scam. Your basically paying full price for claws and some seafood stuffing. 🤷🏽
That looks wonderful! The only thing that I don't like is ALL that butter! The cream with the lobster is good with me, I watch what I put in my body, especially oils! AZ Zapata
I would've thought lobsters would be cheaper in Maine since that's where they're from
I swear he's had a sushi burger before
Welcome to my home town. Long time follower😂
Amazing Lobster roll ! Amazing stuffed lobster ! Delicious Goodness ! Yummy Mikey !
I literally had to wipe my mouth with the sushi burger with how much it was watering.
Omg 😱 I can’t see this and not open my mouth 😂I want the lobster 🦞 roll and the lobster stuff looks sweet and delicious
Oh yesss I love lobster rolls I've tried original Paul's in Portland 😋
Ive always been told never eat a lobster over two pounds anyway. Sweeter and cheaper lol Seems like you got majorly scammed on that massive stuffed lobster 🦞
Wtf is mkt price
Before i start watching......
Thinking to myself......" i wonder where Mike will use the word...."Umami"".
Let's see 😂😂😂
I'm here for the whoopee pie.😊
Sushi Burger looks amazing!! Gotta check out Great Wave Sushi in Portland Maine
Awesome place to visit..tough place to live
Moxie reminds me of carbonated Listerine! I love the shrimp in Maine. It is sweet and buttery with only a light breading.
I agree with you, Moxie is really gross tasting, yuck!
The first taste as it goes into your mouth is like Cheerwine... however very soon after that it finishes tasting like a mouthfull of motor oil. Worst drink ever.
$30 Lobster Roll?! Holy crap... thanks Biden.
Watching her pour butter out of a kettle at the start literally made me gag
Welcome To Portland Maine, Mike! I'm shocked to hear that you are here!
Jeez. How much butter is that
Man that stuffed Lobster 🦞 looks so good but expensive I wish I had some.
I'd be pondering where the tail meat went and very unhappy about a bunch of bread never get anything stuffed except a turkey
Mike is rich , do TH-cam folks
$29 X 2 ROLLS= 58 USD. and all the other extra's, a $75 dollar meal. I can't afford a meal like that.
A respecful suggestion and best wishes and I get your statement. I would use frozen shrimp and it is about the same and cheap. My best wishes.
Oh well
Have you tried not being poor?

Special-treat meals are usually expensive . Most of us have never tasted a lobster roll
I think they took the lobster meat out and sold it elsewhere then stuffed the shell with assorted breadcrumbs spare parts of chopped seafood and cheese. Only thing authentic was the claws.
