Tour is $700 per person in case anyone’s wondering
Quite cheap compared to other vacation places
Cheap I thought 2k 😭😭😭
The cost for the boat tour is $700 AUD per person which is just a little bit less than $500 USD per person for those curious to the pricing. Pretty fair price for an 8 hour tour plus all that fresh sea food
It’s not fresh they have brought all that seafood on the boat before the left! 😂
@@MyfairladyZ2006which was probably caught that morning at seafood market so yes fresh.
I do prefer this kind of videos food review/ travel than just buffets
Truffle has been growing natural in Western Australia for many years. Manjimup Truffles are world renowned.
He's definitely a bit behind with that information, he's been told a 'little fib' there! 😁
Not natural really but those people gave him a bit of false info, every Aussie state has truffles now in the last 20+ years
@@lmaree200886 Tasmania started planting perigolds in 1993 with Western Australia not far behind in 1997. There are varieties that are native but as far as the commercial industry goes, Tasmania was the pioneer in that sector.
There are around 300 native species of truffles in Australia. There are red, pink, yellow, white, purple and brown truffles here.
@jennysmith38 There are actually thousands of different truffles but majority are tasteless or inedible. I was mostly talking about farmed truffles not native species.
You have done our beautiful little island state proud. It was just so wonderful that you visited and showcased our amazing cuisine 😀
The scallop pies are the best in all Tassie at the Salamanca markets, I have tried just about every bakery in Tassie's scallop pies but the Salamanca ones were the best in my opinion.
Abalone these days are small compared to when I was a kid. When I was like13 or 14 in the mid 90s a truck broke down by the beach er were at and couldn't get fixed in time, so the driver started just giving away the Abalone in the back of the truck. They were probably 3 to 4 times that size. A few years later, Abalone got heavily regulated due to overfishing, but they never really bounced back to the same sizes they were.
Its probably because they take them long before they can get to those sizes
Not many ppl stop by Tassie - love love love ❤️ that you are here 🇦🇺
🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
yes welcome to Australia Mikey.
Actually, plenty of people stop by Tassie...
I wish I could live there, the colder the better.
I’ll come next year. Sorry, without Mikey.
Eating scallops while listening to pirate shanties? I can't imagine many things better than that!
Hey mike, thanks for showing off out great country. And also showing me a tour that is definitely a bucket list entry
It's a great idea to recycle the oyster shells. They started doing that here in The Chesapeake Bay region. So far they have planted 11.5 Billion Oysters. As well as built or repopulated 83% of the older Oyster reefs. Been a fan of raw oysters since I was three or four.
Is it usable with any other bivalve shells to recycle them too?
@@tktyga77 Not really with those that move around. Oysters need something to attach to. Clams and scallops, for example, do not.
That abalone looks like something else 😂😂
Boy, what a luxurious food festive! Envy!😉😋
I'm glad you joined it Mike! Yes love this tour! We went in Winter and only two of us :) .... we got soo much food and drinks completely full! No dinner hahah
Next time you come, don't miss Launceston, Hobart's smaller neighbour to the north. Incredible food scene up here too. I'm really blessed to live here.
As a Tasmanian I am so excited to watch this !!
Australia is always no 1 🇦🇺❤🇦🇺❤🇦🇺 awesomeness to see u here MIKEY 😉❤🤙
YUM. All that seafood looked so delicious! I'd have eaten all of it and all but begged for more.
Congratulations Australia 🇦🇺 👏. We are a secret 🙊 for awesome 👌
Well done Tasmania. 👏
Everything looks really good Mike 🤙🏽
I love that you’re in Australia ..x❤❤
Gonna say that toasties cheese looks like Greyere. It sounds like it the way you described it. Probably one of my favorite cheeses ever.
Mike, thank you so much for sharing the beautiful scenery from the coastline of Tasmania!
Wow! Those Abalone - we call them Perlemoen in South Africa - look delicious, and those are the sizes you are allowed to take out (if you have a permit) here! Just as I used to cook them - you have tenderize them beforehand, quite correct. The Crayfish - as we call them here - also look delish!! Used to clean out the legs and antennae as well : ) Best Seafood - Yummy!! Oysters were huge too - and the salmon looked mouth watering!!
That shows how much lobster meat is normally wasted 😫
Tasmania is small but seafood is great. Love that market.. i had the sweetest strawberries ever there!! And it was huge too.
Have fun at auckland! I find that city small compare to melb/sydney. And food aint cheap either.
Mike, you make all the places you go very interesting to travel to. I appreciate that! 😁
I always wanted to go to Australia. That food and boat excursion looked amazing!
Mike in my home state!!!! glad you enjoyed your time here mate!!!!
I would definitely book that tour, everything looked so delicious. The crew made it well worth it. I've always wanted to go down under and you made me want it even more. Stay safe and enjoy your days, from your biggest fan from Arkansas ❤😊👍🏻
Loved this episode! I live in Australia and I’m inspired to take a trip down to Tassie! Thanks for your fabulous video Mikey!!!!! Safe travels to Aotearoa!!! 🙏🏼
Where's aoteahroah? Is it a new country? Never heard of it.
Yaaaaay I'm so glad you branched out closer to us 🤍🤍 hope you come to nz next x
Fantastic video...all the seafood looked so delicious...thx for sharing your experience in Tasmania, Australia 😊🤗❤
Hope you had a great time in our country Australia! Visit again soon!
ey it's my home ! Best seafood, and alchohol. cleanest air and water in the world.
I worked at salamanca in the 90's and early 00's - so much different ! My house is in view at 7:02 :D
There’s Mikey showing me what I should do in my own country. 😂
Great to see you in Tassie! Sad I didn’t bump into you! If you are ever in South Australia you MUST visit the central markets on a Friday night!
Take a shot each time he says sweet
No, that would kill me. Especially when he started an entire thing with 'I got a sweet potato' I knew I'd be doomed.
Loving this Aussie series so far!

Mom I can explain
I have never tasted ANY of that seafood. As a child I was told I was allergic to shellfish, after having a blood test done. But I have been watching seafood videos for years now and lobster and crab is some of the main ones I would love to try one day. Especially in a local area like this. But you, Mike, by far show and explain seafood so well! I love your channel!
Those scallops sticks are sooo good. I had two last time I was there! Love tassie seafood, best oysters in the world IMO
This was an awesome video!
What an amazing experience for you!
Tasmania is so underrated
Loved this👍🏽
Should have checked out the wallaby burrito over at the markets too!
I've done that same seafood boat tour with my husband, and totally was worth it. I have no idea how you had room before and after for other food though.
Great video , only state of Australia I haven’t visited yet, glad your enjoying your Aussie adventures:) long time subscriber here
I hope you never come across an Australian spider during your trip.😂
When Mikey says “it’s pricy”, that means it’s very expensive.
If you are going to be in Adelaide, let me know happy to show you around mike. Love the videos, keep up the great work 👌
Nice seeing you in the state i live all around the island has great food
Hey Mike.
Been a fan of you for years keep up the content. When you’re in Auckland you should try these places 1. Green jades they have the best Chinese food 2. Lucky gs they have the best burgers and chicken in town. Hope you enjoy your time in NZ have you beautiful one 🙏
Wow. Those bags under your eyes!! I hope you managed to get some proper rest after this trip mate.
Burning hot as well!!! Proceeds to take a huge bite 😆😁
Interesting one.
Crazy to see a Datsun Fairlady collectors club [and all white versions, too] pulling up behind him @1.27.
the seafood tour costs 700 dollars though, wow
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸. The meat in skewers looks good. Lobsters and abalones looks so fresh and delicious, too. Nice video.
My home state ❤ I haven't been to Salamanca Market in a long time tho
Who's counting every time he says "sweet"? 😂😂😂😂😂
Love seafood I could live here ❤❤
I’m EARLY!!! I love watching food reviewers visiting the country that I live in.❤
I’ve also been watching dumpling for couple years now
I have finally out Mike Chened Mike Chen. We spent the day in Tasmania then flew to an island off the coast of Taz. You could walk to the beach and dive in (wet suit required). With a friend who is local we harvested every sea creature in this video plus mussels and huge clams. On the way in we shot a wallaby.
All was prepared by my friend and his mates on a seven mile long white beach on which we were the only ones The only food that i didn't care for was Mutton Bird which is pulled from the crags of the ricky shoreline. .
Bet you can’t go one video without saying umami 😂❤
He can’t!
Well to be fair, this is essentially a food review channel and umami is basically a way to describe a dish's savoriness(especially dishes with meat and/or mushrooms) and since most of the foods he tries/reviews is savory, it's almost impossible for him to describe a whole 20-30min video worth of different foods/meals/dishes without using the word "umami" ‼️🤷🏾♂️🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️😭😭💀💯...
Thanks showing true quality of Aussie food!! Unlike the other huge food youtuber 🙃
this is a video for seafood lovers
please come to Sydney!!!
I am from south africa and we have massive abalone . But it's illegal to take them from the wild any size , as it takes almost 80 years for the abalone to grow the size of your palm. Since it's a delicacy in Asia, it's been poached to death and exported . I think i need to visit Australia for some abalone
We are lucky our abalone only take 7-8 years to grow
You should come to Adelaide, South Australia
Ohh iove the accents!
Any info on what tour this is, planing to go Tasmania soon so this works out great.
Bonza living the dream😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why are both channels exactly the same content now?
Because he’s lazy.
I need to get on that boat
Come to New Zealand next and try some of the food here! I'd love to hear your take on Hangi cooked food.
I should have watched to the end 😅
The cheese is nutty?! 😂
I'm about to have the biggest mukbang while watching this
Mike almost made it a full episode without eating Asian food.. almost.
😂
Always loving the videos Mike, makes me always hungry lol
fun stuff
(#1) This preview is so amazing!! Thank you, Mikey!!!
Those spiny lobsters were all that big. They grow quick.
You haven't showed up in my feed forever! I just thought of looking you up. I love your trips, your loving food and your delightful personality! I AM subscribed, but they didn't notify me!
It's nice seeing all the Aussie stuff on the channel the past two days, hopefully you can get to Queensland at some point XD
Yes! You're heading to Auckland ❤! I loved the food there, so I can't wait to see your food trip there. The lobster looked amazing & holy cow the abalone was gigantic! The tour and food was pricey but ya only live once. 😊
If you come through nelson in the south island of New zealand stop by the smoking barrel for awsome BBQ and donuts they have cheese burger donut it's a absolute must visit place
