  • Pop Century is one of Disney World’s cheapest hotels and it comes with a major perk. But is that price low enough to avoid Disney sticker shock? And is that perk really worth the premium you’ll pay to stay AT Disney World?

I like it. Access to the skyliner, dedicated buses and inexpensive. The redesign of the rooms is an improvement too.

I love Pop Century. The price allowed us to afford a 14 day trip in 2012. We wouldn't have been able to stay that long if we chose a moderate or above. When we stayed there, Art of Animation had just opened, so we had access to their quick-service as well as the one at Pop, which was helpful for a long trip. There was no skyliner back then, but it seems like a good benefit now. The theming of Pop and Art made them so much fun to explore, especially at night when it was all lit up!

I was on a budget anyway, and when I found out about the skyliner it was a no brainer. Going next May.

Have stayed at pop century many times already and would definitely stay there again. Having the sky liner is a game changer over all stars and worth a little extra in my opinion.

This has been our go-to resort since the Skyliner opened. We love hopping on the Skyliner to get to Epcot or Hollywood, and we love the vibe! I have to agree with Fry-Bucket; it's fun to ride!! We will be staying there on our next Disney trip in November!!

Going there for the first time in Jan! Jan16-19 2023. I have done the other value, but want access to the Skyliner! A week later the Skyliner will be down for refurb! 25 percent discount for Pirate Pass holder! I am sure I will love it.

I went in Jan. and this was the perfect hotel for that month. Loved the skyliner/loved no carpeting/loved the pot roast

I don't think any area at Pop is particularly far from the main building and transportation. It's not nearly as spread out and far as say CBR or POR. I also disagree with requesting the 50's building, that is all the way on the right side of the resort, your most central is going to be the 60's and I would request 70's over the 50's because it's right next to the buses and close to the skyliner. We've been back in the 80's a few times and even then it's not a far walk, for the buses you cut through the parking lot area and for the skyliner/lobby it's less than 5 minute walk.

I would stay there again if on another solo trip, for sure. Preferred rooms make it very much worth it, too. The bathrooms were surprisingly nice.

I loved pop century when i stayed. the skyliner alone worth it,, pay the extra to get preferred location room, youre already saving money going with a value resort

Pop is one of our favorites; it's also nice for us 90's babies who remember a lot of the things in their lobby.

Without the value resorts, we would not be able to afford to go to Disney and stay in the Disney bubble. And to be honest, as I have been watching the reviews on here of the other resorts, there's nothing that has made me feel like "oh, I must stay there no matter the cost".

  • @dennip60
    @dennip60 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I'm sitting here, watching this, and the prices for "value" do not reflect the category. They are bare bones, and for the same price, I can get a 3 bedroom spacious condo a few miles away, with tons more amenities. Right now, I am on VRBO looking at a 7 bdrm house, w/ private pool, and community amenities for less than a moderate for next year. We drive, but would NEVER stay off property, until they started charging for parking, and taking away perks. We are staying at Saratoga on rented points, in a few months, so qualify for evening EMH, and not paying for parking. I think it stinks that evenings are only for deluxe guests. Staying at Portofino Bay club level for less than a regular room at Destino Tower, next spring. Anyway, if you drive, there are more options.

Although I planned to go to the parks all the time, my kids were younger and needed more downtime. The rooms were too small to hang out, and we were sick of the food choices by the end of our 10 day trip. If/when we ever go back, we'd pick a resort with better food options, bigger rooms, and a pool with a slide, because full days in the park can be hard on the kids.

I don't mind budget hotels, but I mind the thin walls and too many school groups with unsupervised kids, unaware/uncaring of the noise they're making. My sleep is really important. For that price range, I would prefer to stay off property.

I don't mind the value resorts, I like the new rooms. However, not a fan of the sky liner. Only because if you have severe weather (and you will, it's Florida) it shuts down, then it's a mess. Depending on where you are when it shuts down, getting to a bus can be a pain. They don't have any means to notify you it's shut down so you don't know until you get to the station. If you are at Epcot and you go to the sky liner and it's shut down, now you have to walk all the way back through Epcot, or walk to HS to get a bus if you are going back to the resort. If they provided the option, always, of taking a bus or using the sky liner that would be different. My big complaint with the values is no hot tub and Mama needs a nice long soak after being in the parks.

If the skyline at the International Gateway is shutdown they run bus from the Beache Club.

I do really wish they gave the option to use a bus to Epcot & HS! 😖

Pop Century is roughly $200 to $300 a night? That is supposed to be a "Value" price for guests? Or for wealthy guests? I think Disney Parks is steadily pricing out the middle and working classes. When will someone admit this? A bus can take a guest directly to a park just as much as the Skyliner, a boat or the Monorail. And guess what? Even the lines for those forms of transportation can get crowded. And the buses can get you just about anywhere on the resort property. Not even the Skyliner, the boats or the Monorail can do that. Then again, I keep forgetting about this channel's aversion to buses . . . as if people should look down their noses at them.

We are deluxe resort people and wanted to save some money this go around. We tried it and it just wasn’t for us, the room was just way way too small. Pop is a very cute resort and having the skyliner there is a big plus but we won’t be back.

I would stay off site, use the money you saved to take Ubers. Look for no resort fees, no parking fees if you have a car. I stayed at a Hilton a little over half a block from Disney Springs at $100 with no parking or resort fees, nice hotel, nicer rooms than overpriced Disney ones. Just search the web for what you get.
