The correct answer is Pop. Those suites at A of A can run as much as a deluxe room. The only standard rooms are TLM. Pop is the better value. Plus the updated rooms are cute and you still get access to the skyliner.

  • @Molbyone

The answer is POP if only just for the fact that the only true 'value' rooms at AOA are in the Little Mermaid rooms, which are the absolute farthest from everything at that resort.

As mentioned in the video, the rest of the decades for Pop Century were scrapped. Not mentioned was the why. They were scrapped because of 9-11. We stayed at Pop Century many many times waiting and watching the buildings across the pond. The Little Mermaid buildings are the only ones that were built before 9-11 stopped everything in their tracks. When tourism picked back up again, the buildings were re-purposed for Art of Animation. That's why the rooms are smaller than the other areas.

We absolutely loved our family suite at AOA for our 3 generation family group! This more than made up for less than stellar food options or a longer walk. Let’s be real - there are so many options for food throughout all of the parks so you can eat anywhere!

Ya know at first I was gonna disagree on AoA being better than Pop. But you made me realize something. Disney is still more geared towards families and families need suites hence why AoA is more popular. I get it now thanks friend.

As a solo traveler, Pop Century is the better option. A bed and a table and chairs suits me more than 2 beds. Asa far as food goes, both hotels benefit from the Skyliner and it's access to the other hotel dining.

AoA is for larger families and parents who have kids young enough to really enjoy the wonderful atmosphere the rooms, space, and theming create. Pop is by far the better value. I've stayed at both with our 3 kids and now that my wife and I are going back alone ,on a budget, we're going Pop.

We were at WDW in this past fall 2021 for 10 days. We stayed at POP and we will definitely stay there again. The room was perfect for us. There are just two of us and we only pulled the Murphy bed down once to see what it was like. We were in the fifties section and right at ground level by the pool side. If there were 4 adults it would have been tight and we are empty nesters so our kids pay for their own Disney trips now 🙌🏻 we only had 1 breakfast and 1 dinner at the resort… if we ate all of our meals there it would have probably gotten boring. We had many fabulous meals during our trip … breakfast @Topolinos, dinner @Steakhouse 71 we were there during Food and Wine, so yeah. Be Our Guest (don’t have the scallops 👎🏻) Skipper Canteen, Jiko so much food ! We didn’t even touch nearly the list of things we wanted to try, so food at the resort wasn’t an issue for us. The bed was comfy and we were able to do so much more, because of the cost savings on our room- seats and eats for Enchantment 👍🏻 we love Pop and will definitely be back!!

This video couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I just locked in a trip for 1/29/2023 - 2/4/2023 and chose Pop Century over Art of Animation. I just stated at Art of Animation in September and I absolutely adored the resort. It was just me and a friend, so we stayed in The Little Mermaid rooms. I'm going solo on this next trip, and since I would be booking a normal room anyway, I decided to change it up and stay at Pop Century. Having the Skyliner for Epcot/HS days, a fun resort atmosphere (even though all I'll probably use the hotel for is sleeping/showering/breakfasts lol) , and the price (my preferred room seems like it'll be a little over $200/day!) make it a perfect choice.

One thing that I never see highlighted as a HUGE bonus is the fact that the suites at Art of Animation sleep 6. We are a family that needs to sleep 6. So, we either get two 'normal' value resort rooms, or one family suite for roughly the same price. There are precious few room options on Disney property that sleep 6. The only other one I know of are the cabins at Ft. Wilderness; and those don't have a separate room for only two people OR two bathrooms. For us, it's a no brainer. We still get two bathrooms, plus a small kitchenette and, at Art of Animation, a room closer to transportation than the Little Mermaid rooms.

    • @micahmoore9845

The landscape of flavours QS had a reasonable variety we always found something we liked to eat when we ate there. The pools were fab and being on the skyliner was a great extra as made getting to epcot and hollywood studios was a relatively stress free journey with some great views- especially if you time it for when the fireworks are happening

  • @morgancolley1957

We are staying at Art of Animation in the Little Mermaid Room in June. We chose this resort because it's so immersed in Disney theming! When looking at rooms with my son, he loved them all so that gave us the greenlight to chose the standard room. We chose the Little Mermaid room because when we booked it in January 2021 for June 2022 it was $189 a night! Also we figured since it's only 3 of us and won't be in the room as much, no point in splurging on a more expensive room. Sure it will be a long walk from the rooms to the lobby, but that isn't a deal breaker for us. In fact we're hoping all the walking will wear our energetic 7 year old out but with our luck it may be the reverse 🤪
Pop is nice if you don't care too much about theming but want the resort perks. We almost chose Pop because of the cost but figured for $10 more a night we could have a better themed room and everyone would be happier at AoA.

Pop is my choice hotel for value at Disney. The Little Mermaid rooms are SO far away and were $50 more a night when I stayed there. Was not worth the extra price at all. The family suites can be as expensive as the deluxe rooms and really aren't that big. I was really disappointed with AOA and probably won't stay there again unless family/ a friend invites me and they booked a family suite.

The credit cards free Status gets you 24 in breakfast grab and go and free Starbucks drip coffee and water every morning, you get early park access, you're close to springs and there's a shuttle, they take points, they have pools, and the rooms are above the pop century.

Im not even certain how one can even make a comparison of these resorts. Its like reviewing apple vs oranges. AofA is family suites vs Pop is 4 person hotel room. The hotel rooms AofA has are 3 times the price of Pop, highly themed rooms and these rooms are furthest from the lobby. AofA isn’t really a “value” resort, its a class of its own. The only “similarity” b/t Pop and AofA resorts is the gondola transportation and the over top theming on the outside of buildings. Sorry this video should been comparing the All Stars vs Pop or AofA vs AS Music Family Suites vs 1 bdrm DVC rooms in my opinion.
