    Good video! I've had a love-hate relationship with Photo AI since it first came out and it appears they've fixed a lot of things I used to complain about. I still wish I could get it to do bulk noise reduction processing, like I used to get with Topaz Denoise.

      Yeah, I've gotta give Topaz Labs credit for continuing to improve Photo AI. It still has a lot of room to grow, but they're moving in the right direction.

    Great review! Version 3.1 really was quite the update. Processing speed is definitely improved.

    Sure do wish Adobe would add plug-in support to Lr in order to simplify the round trip process.

    I just upgraded Photo AI to 3.1.3. It now takes over an hour to process sharpen, denoise and upsize from 3755X3755 to 7510X7510 and return to Lightroom. In photography time is money and right now Topaz is costing me a lot of money.

      Yeah, doesn’t do any favors unless you have a seriously beefy computer.

    I still mostly use DeNoise, Sharpen and GigaPixel. Face recovery is very good in Photo AI.

    Brian, thanks for another great video. You have best Lightroom video I have found. I thinking about adding Topaz Photo ai to my editing as I suffer from hand tremors. I like to send all photos to the cloud so I can edit on my I- pad pro. My question - can you get photos from the cloud into Topaz or do you have save in another form to get them into Topaz? Thanks for you insight. Look forward to future videos.

    Hi Brian. Thanks for this review. Do you use LR first and then Photo AI or the other way around? Cheers, Dan.

    • @brianmatiash
      @brianmatiash  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on the image to be honest. Most of the time, if the image needs noise reduction and Lightroom doesn’t support the file format, then I’ll first sent it to Photo AI and then edit in LR.

      I’ve found the Photo AI sharpen model has also improved, but I admit that I don’t often use it.

    I have Topaz Photo AI, and my workflow is Lr then to PS if needed. I haven't found the need to include Photos AI in my workflow unless I see the need. I just shot a wedding and have a few photos that may need "face recovery," I'll see what Photo AI does for me. I'm mainly a landscape/nature photographer but will accept a nice paying wedding shoot when asked. 😎

    Nice video. I have the new Topaz AI and DXO. I think they both belong in my toolbox. Do you think Lightroom will ever implement enhance on JPG files? I normally shoot Raw but sometimes I prefer JPG shooting sports.

    Thanks Brian. Since Lightroom doesn't support plugins, what is your workflow for going from LR to Photo AI and back?

      I usually send it to Photoshop first and access Photo AI from there.

    Great video. One question : does it have a function for batch enhancement of several photos. Like if you want to upscale many files from a smartphone but don't have time or energy to do them one by one ?

    • @jaclyne2137
      @jaclyne2137 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. It does have a batch feature. That's the reason I bought it. You can just batch upscale or you can batch with AutoPilot which will apply the enhancements including upscaling.

    Has anyone else got the issues with white balance when image is returned to LrC? It's been an ongoing issue for me for some time. I was told it is a known problem and will be fixed soon. That seems a long time ago. I can fix it in LrC to an extent but sometimes the image is not recoverable. I'm in latest version at this time. I keep all my apps up to date. Photo AI is 3.1.1 currently.

    The problem using face recovery in Photo AI is not in how well it works for the face but in the difference it creates with the rest of the person or the photo therefore making the whole image look too weird to use. Although if it’s used in a close up of a person’s face with few surroundings it works amazingly well.

    Thx Brian! I did purchase Photo AI yesterday, but I am already having regret as I didn’t realize it doesn’t have a plug-in with Lightroom? It seems very cumbersome, I am having buyers remorse. Can you share the workflow you follow? Also, for my iphone photos that I like to edit but not necessarily make the cut for me to save in Lightroom, should I just add it as a plugin with Apple photos and keep the workflows separate? Thanks. Actually, I am thinking about returning to LR Classic due to the fact that Lightroom cloud does not let me organize my files by folder and forces the backup by dates….I am so confused now.

    To me it’s gotten worse, a lot of photos with iso 3200 it won’t even detect it needs noise reduction and it makes faces look plastic.
