Riffs and the song writing in general. I'm not really a fan anymore. But Sam's voice, OMG, IMHO really the best. My favorite is still Dead Man Talking in the older album and Gravity. The pitched screams are so tasteful.
It feels so good to hear a "Josh" song from architects. It`s really sad they lost Tom and while Adam and Josh can make great architects songs architects always evolved from one album to the next. So it`s great to hear music that's natural to Josh and Adam but still architects to the core. They just fit.
The cinemaphotography is pretty interesting. All of the other band members are wearing black and kind of blend in with the background while Sam is dressed in a way that makes him pop out. He's also standing dead center so he's always in the middle of the frame as the camera circles him. It's also pretty cool how he follows the camera with his body so he's almost always facing it.
I love how raw dans hi-hats sound. It’s like the mic is inside them. Absolute banger. When I saw the title while we were young I thought it was going to be a pop cover but this did not disappoint. Excited for the direction they appear to be going.

They literally changed metalcore and modern metal in general, I wouldn't consider this as a lack of originality.

They haven’t forgotten their public and convictions. “We thought we had the whole world figured out” speaks highly of the values and beacons the band have. Flavour of the musical part is there. The last bit of really mathcore-ish riffs were gone with Holy Hell because those were the last riffs composed by Tom. Tom was the genius behind the Architects sound, now they are just trying to be Bring Me the Horizon like every other core band that wants to perform in the mainstream.
That’s where you’re wrong. They’re not trying to be anything other than what they want to be. Comparing them to BMTH, really? You want to talk about a band that has fallen so far from where they used to be to capitalize on mainstream, then yes, that would be BMTH. But Architects? No. They still sound the same and have evolved after losing Tom.

When Tom passed, he was the one that shaped their sound to be heavy and aggressive. Their new sound is a lot more huge open chorus driven, geared towards chants, sparring use of heavy/breakdowns, really similar to modern BMTH. Which again isn’t a bad thing. Personally this isn’t it for me, but they’re making objectively good music and staying relevant and doing their thing. They’re shifting to ‘mainstream’ to be more approachable and making the music they want to
Lol, i just discovered this band a few days back. I have not been listening to any metal songs for a while since nothing sounds convincing but this band got me back to the groove.
very new sound, but that chonk and sam do remind you that you are listening to the bleghs. also interesting to have a groovedown for a change, and ofcourse that chorus is so groovy and huge! it's not super heavy but still somehow scratches that itch for chunk. also they really tried to do something completely different for the beat and riffs. loved this to be honest!

This cinematography was definitely influenced by Spiritbox. Just look at the song Circle with Me. Love the different take. Makes sense too as they worked together on Yellowjacket on the Eternal Blue album. Simply amazing.
You definitely need to listen to "These colours don't run" before going to the concert. They have played it the five times that I've seen them live and it's absolutely amazing if you know the song.

Sounds great for an actual live play through video. Dan’s drums were all mic’d and obviously everything else was direct. Then it was mixed and mastered.
It's not a live playthrough. There are slight discrepancies between what is happening in the video vs what you hear. It may have been actually recorded and we may get to hear what actually was done in the video but in this instance it was just a music video where they play along to the song and out the studio track over top
