City of Evil is hands down my favorite album, and my favorite style that they would play. You get tastes of it in later songs like Natural Born Killer from the Nightmare album or St. James from Hail to the King. However, when a band experiments with their styles with every album its fun to listen to it new as you never really know what you're going to get and that's exciting!

Dont know if you've done this one yet but Save Me turned into one of my favorite songs. I have been around since the seven trumpets and they have only ever disappointed me once.
It's sometimes frustrating not hearing Jimmy's influence on the songs anymore but the soul is still there.

    M. SHADOWS still one of the most amazing vocalists. I would like to see a little more old school with the album. The evolution of them since Sounding The 7th Trumpet is why they are always one of my favorite bands.

This isn't exactly a crazy different style for them.
They already made the crazy prog switch on The Stage.
That was the album where people were really surprised by the different style.
I don't think anyone who listened to The Stage will be surprised by this.
    I like it.

Correct, after listening to The Stage a lot, and hearing they were releasing a "conceptual" album I immediately said: THEY ARE GOING FULL PROG NOW!!
      Absolute beast of an album.

The note choice is the reason you instantly recognize Marty Friedman. Syn delivered a great job on this song and album. He needs more recognition : he's a huge talent. I love the dynamic and timing in his playing. It makes him unique

It felt like a blend of new ideas but with some call back to older songs. The strings section very much gave me the vibe of City of Evil and a little same with the solo. But the initial portion of the section with the chorus and arpeggios felt very much like their newer music, the arpeggios reminded me a lot of exist with how it just persists in the background. Matt Shadows really had a much different vocal sound than I'm used to but at the same time still had the signature Shadows sound. It's not my personal favorite but I like the venture into a newer sound from them.

I loved this track, all over the place energy wise, really like the video also; their other new track is wild, it’s a VR experience thingy, and it’s also savage as all hell.

AX7 isn't a one listen and decide kind of band, they have grown to have a prog metal edge to them. The Stage definitely took a big leap in that direction and I love it! Love this song after a few listens. They just released another song that may take more than a few listens to get to appreciate though, definitely another different direction.

I like the direction they’re going, although I along with all the die hard a7x fans would want the rev to be apart of this I think they made a great song here if you enjoy rock music.

The beginning of the song, those eerie sounds are exactly what my anxiety sounds like to me. For me this song is about dying or a heroic dose of shrooms.
