The voiceover is a character named Ballas, the inventor of warframes. Most of these trailers have this "for your consideration" monologue as if he's presenting them to his fellow Executors.
He's voice acted by Max Howarth, who frankly has too few credits lol

There's a lot of little fun things in warframe.
I think Meghan did Valkyr's scream, and so much of the crew did voice acting in the game (cuz of money at first, but still feel cool nowadays)
and If I remember correctly she's also the voice for most if not all Valkyr and Valkyr primes roars and screeches which I love and respect a TON btw :)

You've watched these out of order. The ones you really liked are the newer ones, the ones you found less impressive are the older ones. They just got better at making them and the game engine became more sophisticated over the years. Also, I just watched you watching the cinematics off the back of this...doesn't seem like anyone mentioned in the comments at the time, but that intro cinematic was done by Dan Trachtenberg the guy who directed Prey (the newest Predator movie) and 10 Cloverfield Lane. Both excellent movies.
Man I remember Dan having a media review show with two other guys on Revision 3 ages ago. It was called The Totally Rad Show.
One thing I personally use to separate the "new" trailers from the old ones is whether or not it includes over the shoulder shots, showing actual gameplay, what the player will actually see in game. Now, "new" is relative because it's been a few years, starting with either Octavia or Gara, depending which came out first I don't remember. And I do find them better, more dynamic, the music are always cool, and again, they're actually looking like the game too. When Khora (with the golden cat for the non Tenno) is showns using the Keres (her swords), that's what it looks like in game. And I love that.
Octavia "the piss take one" has been an obscenely powerful warframe for years ever since her release, causing the devs trouble in their fight against brainless gameplay

yeah octavia's kit includes 3 powers each of which 'plays' a tune you can set in the base, main and high parts of an overall tune, there are channels dedicated to 'mandachord songs' showing how to replicate alot of real tracks for octavia,
Gameplay so brainless i have to nerf myself by going 300+ strength, subsumed infested mobility on to her and be almost as fast as a volt

One of the reasons especially the new prime trailers make such heavy use of particle effects is that the former creative director of warframe, now CEO of Digital Extremes Steve Sinclair is a huge graphics nerd, and the studio uses an in-house game engine, evolution engine, so he has had relative freedom to play with and improve the graphics over the years. It is also a big reason why for an 11, nearly 12 year old game Warframe looks so damn good.

The Revenant trailer is great because if you listen to Ballas(the narrator) his entire speech is basically "What the f*ck is this and where did it come from?".
Because in the lore a lovecraftian god is the reason of the existence of that prime in that universe 😅😅😅

revenant is the pure definition of mocking anyone who attempts to get towards pure immortality because only he knows immortality and the price of it
Protea is special, in that she gets two voice overs, because she was a custom Warframe built for one of the most powerful Orokin (the "ancient people" of this universe). The voice that appears the most in these trailers is Ballas, the head of the Warframe project tasked with designing them, and the voice appearing only in Protea's trailer is Parvos Granum, said powerful Orokin who went on to found the Corpus. The whole trailer is them bickering on what is possible and what isn't, with Parvos basically going "I'm me so fuck the laws of physics, make that Warframe a time traveler".
Funny thing is that Parvos isn't an Orokin, not by a long run. He was a farmer servant of the Orokin, who re-invented loansharking and developed an empire of his own from basically zero

@@Ananas_on_fire All Humans are Orokin, that was basically the word for the empire of humans. Over time they started calling the wealthy elites Orokin after they discovered continuity, becoming immortal and the rest of the humans just referred to them as Orokin.
@@GuardianKoran As far as I can tell, this isn't correct. The Orokin empire is divided into castes. The corpus and grineer are laborer castes, while the Orokin are the ruling caste. The empire is named after said ruling caste. Most of the inhabitants of the empire were probably just regular humans or grineer laborerers. Keep in mind the Dax as well, the warrior caste.
@@GuardianKoran There are a few inconsistencies in some of the lore to suggest this (like how Hunhow called Alad V an Orokin as a side-comment in the Second Dream-- something which is never elaborated on further, which leads me to believe that Hunhow, at least, thinks of all humans as Orokin), but in general no that's not true. The Orokin were the ruling class and the elite nobility, and most people of the time considered themselves separate from the Orokin (see also: Teshin, the Holdfasts, some Leverian lore, etc)
This actually plays into the dialogue of the prime trailer-- Ballas, one of the seven Executors who ruled the Orokin Empire, was basically being forced into making this deal for the lowborn Parvos Granum (sidenote, his name is Greek and Latin for "Grain Farmer" which I always thought was funny). You can hear the visceral disgust in his voice, one which we never really hear again until the New War.
Great that he finally took a look at the prime trailers. If you are a total newcomer to warframe lore, ballas' narration might not make too much sense, but just adds to the mystery of each warframe's design.
Also glad he enjoyed them; as one of the commenters who suggested it in his first warframe video.

So, uh, miss Piss Take, Octavia, is actually very good. Not only that, she kinda makes sense. Banshee is about the silence, she wants to remove every bit of noise so she can get in and out undetected. Octavia wants you to turn up the radio, blast the stereo, and pump it (Louder), just as long as you don't question how the music makes you invisible.

I took a chance on Banshee in SP Circuit this week and as soon as we got-in, I said to myself: ''Oh, this is a mistake. I'm going to die every seconds and look like a damn fool because I'm MRL4''. But she's great and with the decrees, I went all the way to 10 with her. Her Silence ability is effin' fantastic and she has great mobility.
My Octavia prime rocks another one bites the dust...

Hydroid Prime trailer was announced but wasn't released along with the Hydroid Prime so it became a meme as everyone were constantly asking the devs "where is the Hydroid Prime trailer?" and the devs constantly telling them "its in the works". They never wanted to cancel it because they said in the devstream before the release that its coming so it felt like false advertisement if they were to cancel it so they tried to work on it constantly but they were being pulled back by the budget issues for the making of the trailer and the budget issues not allowing them to hire new people so the dev team were having really hard times when they tried to do something which isnt related to the story missions which included these tralers. They managed to hire new people which gave them the opportunity to work on the Hydroid Prime trailer which they released to announce Hydroid's rework 2 years later.
The Prime trailers are basically jusst promotional material for the Prime Warframes, you can purchase them with money to get instant access, but theyre also incredibly easy to earn in-game, on average it takes about 1-2 hours to farm for a Prime Warframe (depending on poor luck it could be longer). The Primes are basically just upgrades to their normal counterparts, having some stat increases, extra modding capabilities, and as always, the new Prime skin they have which is usually really really good looking, Because as always, FashionFrame is endgame.

You wouldn’t know it from the trailer, but Octavia’s gimmick is that you can make your own custom music on her instrumental weapon that empowers your abilities. She has one of the first abilities that scale infinitely
Gauss and Grendel’s creation being a direct biproduct of The Seven implying that Ballas’ previous Warframes weren’t destructive enough is hilarious. Like bro was told “make us a weapon people will actually fear” and then decided to make a Warframe that can eat a planet and another so fast he causes weather patterns to shift drastically
If you're looking for high end warframe cinematics, they've started doing them officially because they've got such a good budget now! I'd say check out the new warframe intro cinematic for sure

So for reference, primes are variants of warframes that have slightly boosted stats, and much fancier designs. All the mechanics are the same as base though. Anything a prime csn do, base can too (albeit with slightly lower numbers).
In lore, primes were the elite, the cream of the crop, but lost to time and war. Generally designed and made by Ballas, with a few notable exceptions, he's also the one voicing over most of the trailers.
Ahh... Warframe the game that's is 100% free to play if you put in effort, have been playing this game for 6 years and still am to this day... The lore is rather... Complicated id definitely recommend watching a lore video or two haha. Best thing about this game is the fashion

The lore is also quite disjointed in parts due to it being made over the course of over a decade now, so you'll find parts which are just tidbits, forgotten, or contradictory to other lore, keep in mind it's an evolving thing and that they're working on it as they go along.
The art and sound team of warframe goes unresonably hard and i love it
Octavia is a crazy design in terms of concept. It's basically a frame that uses music to fight and you can actually make your own songs using her Mandachord. There are tons of sites that show people how to make popular songs on it. It is limited in terms of lenght, but we still get some cool stuff from it. I usually have a castlevania song on her when I play.
I've been a Gauss main for a long time, and I can 100% say, he is as fun to play as it looks. If you want a frame to play that is both really good and really fun, Gauss is your man.
I love Ballas's monologue with regards to Gara.
Warframes are frankensteins of biotech. So when someone _volunteered_ to be converted on the eve of war, Ballas, one of seven Orokin lords, was impressed.
But Nihil the Executioner, Ballas's peer, demanded Gara be turned to glass for her presumption.
So Ballas made Gara glass, and gave her an executioner's axe. ^_^
I don't know if it'd exactly be up your alley but there's a really good official 2D animation that was made for the debut of the 50th warframe Styanax that could be worth checking out.

Some of the concepts for the different frames are pretty left field, but even so the trailers on the whole do a great job of making you want to jump in

I love those trailers when you have smooth transition from cinematic to actual gameplay. Its crazy.
Octavia supose to be a bard that buff whole team with beats. But to be fair she is not only one of the strongest buff but also infinitly scaling DPS. Which mean that you can without many preparations do max lvl content with her, solo.
Most frames vere designed by Ballas. Main narrator to this trailers. But Protea was made on order of Parvos Granum, founding father of Corpus faction. That why you can hear him in her trailer. And he names her "daugher off two fathers" bc Parvos design her, and Ballas created her.
Hydroid prime is out for years. But i thinkt they didnt make trailer for him at his premiere.
Some background to the Prime´s ingame;
These are pretty much supporter packs you buy to get instant access, however you can grind for the Prime weapons and frames along with theyr release.
lore-story-wise these are also very interesting, Like Valkyr´s trailer teased something VERY big and huge, it´s really a shame they don´t get to release a prime trailer for every prime.
Oh and before you join; They will do a big Quality of life patch on October 2. if you can wait a week.
For me the best thing about the warframe trailers are the narrations by Ballas, an in game character. articulated and sinister, i just love it
The Hydroid Prime trailer, the one that was "never released" was left in development hell for years, basically, it was eventually released, but it was WAY too late from when it was supposed to be. When they did finally finish it, they gave everyone Hydroid Prime for free as compensation for the fact that they were so astronomically late. When it was still in development it became a meme in the community where people (including other devs) would jokingly poke at eachother about when the Hydroid Prime Trailer would be completed.
Yeah, the order doesn't matter on most of these, but it would have been more "starts out good & gets better as you watch" if they had been put in release order.
But either way, love seeing your reaction to all of these!
I've put thousands of hours into Warframe, and always enjoy seeing more people get excited about it's rule-of-cool universe.

That last trailer, Hydroid Prime trailer. They DID release him. The story is that as they were releasing Prime Warframes, each one had their own trailer, except for some reason Hydroid Prime. And as he was reworked they eventually made a trailer for him.
Here is to hoping if they ever rework Chroma that he gets one as well.

Keep in mind that not every Prime Warframe has a trailer. The devs only do Prime Trailers when they have the time and resources to do so.
Unfortunate that they didn't make one for Sevagoth, would've been really cool.
Honestly it wasn’t til watching these back to back like this that i realized they actually went as far as making the lighting and shading match each of the warframes particular ability set. Such as oberon they used a lot of greens and browns as his powers are based around forest and plants (based on the king of fey from myths).
What really interesting is that these videos are part of the lore. The narrator is in the game, selling his creations, the frames of war. It's very clever in that the trailers are two fold in meaning.
Octiavia is to Warframe what a Bard is to DnD.
Her powers are music based and give a myriad of buffs to allies, damage, multishot (effectively more bullet per bullet fired) and even invisibility, but only if you keep in time with her rhythm.
You can purchase instuments for her and even write your own songs with her Somachord.
Side note the reason Ballas, the narrator, says "I" a lot is because he designed most, if not all, of the Warframes. Imagine his narrations like him addressing a war council and unveiling his latest weapons
If you find the game too grindy then just avoid grinding. You really don't need to to just experience the plot. Just focus only on the things you need to advance and make do with the gear you get. The game is worth playing just for the story. In terms of sci-fi games, I genuinely think only Mass Effect beats it in the scale of its space opera. It makes stuff like Halo seem unimaginative.

I’ve played warfrsme since 2014, still playing to this day. Still don’t have every weapon and frame so I get what Kai meant by it’s a grind lol. Haven’t seen many of these trailers either
Fun Fact: the Voice over is actually the main villain of the story quest.
I do like how they mixed up the almost 10 year old trailers with recent ones,makes the side by side really stand out.
Octavia in game is amazing at area control and buffing teammates, definitely a bit of a tone shift from most warframes but she fits in the line up pretty well. You can even make your own custom songs (buffs work by doing stuff to the beat of the music).
I like how you pause whenever the VO comes on. Respectful and professional behavior 100%

(Also I think its unfair that you know how to create advertisement content, knocking it out of the park in comparison to other youtubers, again good on you my guy, utilizing those extra cinematography skill to their fullest). This is what I'd say is good if not great developers doing it right with fan service, they don't need to create these "extra" bits but they do anyway because they care & listen to their fanbase & for a free to play game this is amazing, to have cinematics on this scale & also ingame cinematics as you play is a treat when you are between missions or just looking for a new frame to play.
Unfortunately they don't have trailers for all the primes (my main frame being Ash, an OG prime) BUT still, since they started the trailers, it gives you incentive or rather a nudge to jump back into the Warframe universe again, even if it just to see & collect the new content with each prime release every year. (Looking forward to what new frame and/or prime is next on the table).
If you are keen to get into playing some more Warframe again I'd bet your community will be delighted to assist & accompany you on your adventures across the star chart & beyond.
Needless to say if you want a prime frame we'd be more than happy to help with the parts from our excess collections, rather than you having to grind it out yourself.

27:00 Instantly knew this would be the most replayed part. I’m a Gauss main for a reason.
Here recently they've done a lot of visual overhauls of Warframe, taking it from a good looking game to absolutely stunning. Most of these trailers are older and prior to the updates but you can notice the huge jump in graphical quality nearing the end of the trailers you viewed.
The grinding now.a.days is a marvel of multitask and when you do it in the newst content, even fun. If you are clever, even a busy person can fit it in.

27:42 Gauss is probably my favorite to play as. You need to keep moving fast to charge a bar that enables you to use powers, so you are running around like a mad man without stopping in order to keep doing stuff. It's so fun in higher levels where there are tons of enemies to kill

Yeah, in universe the frames are basically demigods at this point, though some are designed more for specific tasks, with the arsenal they have access to even the mere though of facing one would make most people just give up.
Octavia may be a gimmick frame, but she’s legitimately one of the most powerful frames in the game. She can practically do everything with only one mod equipped.
What I find especially fun about these Prime trailers - majority of custom cutscene animation is used on enemy characters, while 'frames themselves use mostly their actual in-game animations, just shown from fancy angles and some times slowed down. And also do a good job of reminding you that in this world YOU are the thing that goes bump in the night.
A surprise, but a welcome one, to be sure!
(Warframe is so good, generally, and every mission has cutscenes. I don't know if they're on TH-cam without gameplay, but I know some storyline trailers are probably on the official channel.)
also since you asked for lore, here's a short rundown of some of the factions (spoiler warning for people who might be interested in playing)!
- the people at the beginning are Corpus. they're basically the most evolved form of capitalists. there's an entire area that explains the lore of 'why is everyone related to them robots?!' (short answer: can't pay? they'll take it away, and by 'it'? aha, I mean... body parts.) this is Parvos' people.
- the Grineer are the first faction met in-game, who are basically the end point of colonialism? they're all clones with the 'smartest' clones being the leaders. they're peak, 'I don't know who I am, I don't know why I'm here, but all I know is that I must 'TENNO SCOOM' (and then die).'
- Ballas, the narrator, is an Orokin. the Orokin are to the Milky Way what the 1800s English were to the planet Earth. they colonised and killed, then their main weapon turned against them so they made a new weapon, that weapon was successful, and then turned against them. around the mid-point of the map chooser, you get to see their buildings and structures. the aesthetic is gorgeous.
- I wish I could say more about the infected but all I know is they might have been an Orokin bio-weapon? or a side effect of that second weapon that was successful? now they just spread infection to the Corpus and Grineer and try to kill you. you get or used to get Nekros (regular, not prime) from an infected boss. some of the bosses changed loot and I don't remember if that one did or not. if it did, it was a long time after I got Nekros and Nekros Prime.
- Sentients are the first Orokin weapon. they hate the Orokin and were killing them until that second weapon turned up, and now they and half the universe just hate you. I think they're still trying to do what they were made for? every time they show up, I get distracted by the character design, honestly. they feature in the Wisp Prime trailer.
- the Stalker is an assassin that sends you messages when you kill bosses, and the first time he turns up, you will be too underpowered to deal wiith him. he will kick your teeth in and you will hate it. when you're strong enough to beat him? if you play with your friends using Discord to chat, yous will be in a voice chat and read his messages in a 'haha what an idiot' voice. then he levels up and you reconsider your life choices until you can beat him again.
- Syndicates are NPC-run groups that you can join as the player. they have tiers and give you rewards, but some of them hate each other and if you're in with one, another will start trying to kill you. Cephalon Suda is adorable, though, so I'd die for her. why not. she's cute.
I haven't played this game since 5 years but I was a veteran who witnessed it's growth. I got my eyes teared watching the trailers, amazing how a video game can make you reminiscent and emotional.

There are official animations that DE commissioned from "Mashed" and there was also an 18+ fan animation called "Warframe: Proteus"
Edit: The meta lore of the Hydroid Prime trailer is that the devs forgot about it during development for 4 years, but the community campaigned for it to be finished

I'll never get tired of the kennings in Wisp's trailer, and I always get emotional over Valkyr. She was my first frame, and is still my most regularly played frame on my account nearly a decade later.

Warframe gave me one of my personal best in game cinematic experiences with the Chains of Harrow quest.
It is not an in game cut scene, but a whole quest, 'best experienced with headphones.'
I don't think anything will really beat it, and even easter eggs way after you are finished with the quest.

Haven't been following long but you have no idea the surge of excitement when you mentioned Guyver, practically grew up on that, had a VHS tape of both the Dark Hero movie and the original anime, even had some of the original manga too.
Man that gave me a nostalgic feel.

Aye warframe is a good game and has very fair probably the best in sector for a free to play game and the grind isn't hard anymore in comparison to everything out there is barely mild and fun to farm stuff.
You should really play Warframe again lad,lore,gameplay all really good.
To be fair, Warframe is a marathon and not a sprint.
The game is grindy for a decent part of the content, however most of it isn't horrible and it's minor when compared to some other games in similar genres, basically if you like the concept then hop in and give it a try, the community is generally very nice (of course there are bad eggs, but that's true of every community).
Best choice to have gauss as the thumbnail out of all the primes, by far had the best trailer out of all of them

Nice thing about Warframe is all the story stays there so if you take a break you won't miss anything and you can play at your own pace and still get everything.

The Prime trailers are all something that everybody loves, but they're rare to come out because of how much work goes into them. I have no confirmation on it, but if I had to guess, I'd guess that all of these are done in-house. Meaning that Prime Trailers have to be put on hold when it's time to get all hands on deck for a major update (like 1999, to date this post). They're truly something special, though.

I cannot even express how much I love this game. I tried it back in 2017 and didn't like it. One of my friends convinced me to reinstall it last year and its my current most played game on steam. I have over 800 hours and I plan to put way more as time goes on. I love the game and the dev team to bits, they've done amazing work with the game and are still doing amazing things. I don't want to spoil the story for you since it's a big reason why so many people like it, however, I will say that getting through the early game (which is slow and the devs are fixing it over time to make it more accessible to new players) and reach the mission called the second dream, you will be as hooked as I was!
Missed a point about Gausses trailer. Gauss fricking shows exactly what he’s gonna do, and a minute later it happens that way
So the note about that last trailer is they planned on making it years beforehand. The frame was released in 2017, while the "trailer" for him that you watched released in 2020.

My faves Nidus Prime and Gauss. For lolzies I turned gauss into Deadpool coz it just felt right
You can farm prime stuff through void relics, mainly a cosmetic with a little base stat increase. Or of you have plat or are in need of plat you can use the ingame trade system to sell prome stuff for plat or buy specific prime parts with plat. Though its not had to crack a relic and nest to do endless missions to get you the most relics cracked per mission
these are great, but you should check out the in game cutscenes and or music intros to locations, some of the best cinematics and music ive felt in gaming
Grendel the one with the big mouth sucking enemys in was releases on Halloween. A few years later the Prime Trailer was nearly releases on Halloween.
A cool detail with Octavia is that you can use your own music, or so I've heard from folks that actually play Octavia. I hope they haven't removed that ability to inject your own songs and then play them when using your abilities. (Other players here the sounds you choose as well)
With the addition of 1999 I've definitely been wanting to revisit and just focus on story.
Honestly, I'd love to see you play through the New War mission on Warframe, or even just react to a playthrough. Or the Duviri Paradox.

Think those weren't (atleast most of them weren't) the official videos from the PlayWarframe channel but re-uploaded by someone else who had added a *lot* of motion blur to some parts. Atleast from what i can remember the official ones have a lot less motion blur on the parts with really quick movement for example on the Valkyr Prime trailer.
And yeah the thing with the Hydroid Prime trailer was that there was a joke going on within the community that the trailer would never be released because it had been so long since Hydroid Primes actual release and then the trailer was released in 2020.

the first prime u get is gara which is basically the glass warrior and u get it quite early on in the game during the plains of Eidolon quests
I played Warframe when grinding took days. Then they changed the droprates and we were swimming in ressources. I quit the game a long time ago but I had my share of fun. I did recommend the game to a friend of mine and... he spend 10k hours into the game ...
