Just for clarification, the ECU is limited to 22 psi. 3.5 bar gets you a 1 psi increase of visibility without scaling. Nothing more, nothing less. So it doesn't really matter if you have stock or 3.5 bar with OTS maps. The reason we can see more with MHD custom tunes is the fact that we scale the sensor from 10 psi at a 50% rate to achieve 36 psi max and the conversion of the PSI displayed is done internally within MHD. Now, looking at the boost gauge, without seeing throttle angle, we cannot determine that actual boost as throttle closure will cause boost pressure in the charge pipe to spike. Unless the boost gauge is located in the intake manifold, we will not have an accurate boost reading as the tmap sensor in the manifold is only a 1.5 bar sensor and it cannot be changed due to the fact it's there for calibration. So knowing throttle angle at WOT with boost spiking to 27 psi brings up some questions also for guys that use AIC port injection as the amount of fuel sprayed would be more, even if throttle was closed and the actual boost in the manifold was only 21 psi. This would cause the car to run extremely rich and could protentional cause a misfire, and large fireballs shooting from the exhaust which is another side effect. A good reason to upgrade to the ReFlex as the CAN integration helps prevent injector overrun off throttle with charge pipe boost spikes. So, v5 e40 does a lot of things to pull out the stops and make the car as quick as possible. I agree it's one of the quicker maps we have done over the years, but if you have throttle closure, you are taking the risk of turbo surge which can damage the turbos. Sorry for the ramble, head is not so clear today as I'm still recovering from covid.

@@wedgeperformance2816 I ve seen a lot of throttle closure on ots maps like the stage 2. Is it possible to regulate down the boost by wgdc only, not going over the target boost pressure so no throttle closure happens? Does the mhd+ wgdc work differently?

Swap Depot's E90 made 580WHP on that V5 E40 OTS map with 17ts and at the time did have the 2.5 bar sensor! We literally broke our heads the following 2 weeks trying to figure how he made so much power. Also I believe Ken desensitized the knock tables on that map which made the timing corrections not seem as bad.

Thanks Andrew l! Great video and thanks to you and Ken for helping out with the explanation and sorting out what was going on!!
      Couple more details:
      - 7.5” stepped “race” EBay intercooler (same as VRSF I suppose)
      - 34F New England (I mean Mexico) temps :)
      - Very high DA
      - 2nd gear launch (this car launches better in 2nd)
      - Closer to E45 mix
Car is still running great and we run the V10 Stage 2+ OTS with stock t-map day to day (I know we shouldn’t). I think this prevents the throttle closures as well and protects the turbos.
That being said I would recommend folks DO NOT try the same setup. We were 100% aware that we could blow something up but YOLO!!

Well the issue is the variance in setups. An ots won’t work for every car. It’s a no brainer to offer a cheap tune for a hybrid setup, but the issue is it won’t be right for everyone and he will still need to put the work in to get it right for the specific car.
Once you have base wgdc sorted, it’s then on to timing and fueling to suit. And a mediocre effort on the tuning side isn’t good enough for hybrids pumping 25psi.

Wow. Ive been fighting Over Boost trouble since I've put in the 3.5 sensor and the 17't turbos. I've been looking for info on this and finding very little on the net. There are quite a few of us out there trying to find help all fighting codes like
2D33 - DME: Absolute-pressure sensor, intake manifold: signal.
2F0C - Intake air temperature sensor.
30FE - DME: Turbocharger, charge-air pressure too high.
    3100 - DME: Boost-pressure control, deactivation.
    2D2E - DME: Throttle-valve angle - intake-manifold vacuum, correlation.
One thing also is that I'm still running a 5' stepped intercooler as are a lot of those that get these codes. As well a lot of people having these codes often it's the Boost Solenoids that are giving troubles. But there are even some pros that have been fighting with them. Trying to figure out WGDC and Boost targets etc. As well we seem to have all replaced both our Map sensors trying to stop the codes with no luck. But until I can put in a 7.5 intercooler I will try to check out the v5 MHD map and switch back to my old sensor and see what I get. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!! @@hazel8689 I have ran v5 93 or e40 on all my stock twins cars, cars with over 200k miles on stock twins. It's the best map... v10 isn't as fast, verified by many nights in mexico with identical cars... same mods same ish weight, we would run v5 on one and v8/9 (back in the day before v10 came out) on the other. The v5 car would win every time, then when we retuned in the parking lot and reran, suddenly the other car on v5 would be faster. A couple car lengths 60-130.
The knock tables definitely are not as desensitized as that forum post says, and certainly not enough to be dangerous. The "old stock turbos" will go 250k+ with proper maintenance.

Good info, but let's make sure people understand that running an incorrect tmap just means you have no clue what is REALLY happening by the logs. This is akin to using an FMU on a turbo car instead of a proper tuning methodology. Fox body guys used to crank the distributor and lock it so it ran super high timing the whole time.
