It still baffles me that no companies have acquired the ability to do FEMTO unlocks in the US. The shipping eats up so much of the price of the unlock it’s ridiculous.
Apparently Femto got burned the last time they loosened the reigns on their tuning abilities and watched the industry profit from their hard work without any compensation. They aren’t making that mistake again so they are unrelenting in maintaining their IP.
It's crazy how long this has been out and nobody besides FEMTO has been able to reverse engineer what they've done. The A90 Supra community is in the same boat. Nobody is trying to pay thousands of dollars for an unlock on an ECU that provides 0 power and you still have to pay for a tune after.
I like the extra explanation on where all the clips are and exactly how each one works. It's these little details that prevent a first timer from breaking a cheap plastic clip that could need a very expensive fix.
It should be noted that mod would void any warranty claim to BMW and even if you go back to stock they still know that you flashed it. People should know before cry 😅

I agree, if im not mistaken every dme is programed and licensed to your vehicle with vin.They'll know based on that alone plus different serial numbers for the dme's in there system.@@98ws6m6cvert

As long as you are transparent with your dealer you won't have any issue's after all BMW adheres to the Magnuson-Moss Act basically stating BMW has to honor your warranty and prove where and how the tune caused some sort of failure..... The key is to be transparent first, not after the fact... The dealer knows 30%-50% will tune their cars/suvs so it's better to work with them....

If you go with an AARP catted dp you can avoid the CEL or there is also spacers that sometimes work with other dps to avoid the CEL. If you choose to go catless you will need to send your ECU abroad and get it unlocked to code out the CEL.
Kies lists it on their website for each tune, a percentage gain in hp and tq but im not sure they have a tune for MINIs after 2019. My brother has a Countryman S so ive done a little research.
I don't understand how people do this. I have a G87 but there is no way I can compromise my warranty. Same issue with an exhaust. I also lease which is another problem I guess. If something expensive breaks and they tell me they won't cover it because I played with the dme and I'm stuck with a multi thousand dollar bill, I would lose it. It also sucks that when you bring it in, they will relock it. I guess tuning isn't for every body. Makes me sad though because I want to so badly

Just play around with them, you'll figure it out pretty quick. The car will not let you hurt it, even in manual mode. Current gen BMW M cars are actually idiot proof because it tells you right in the gauge cluster when you need to shift.
I don’t want to sound like a newb but does this void warranty? Ive been struggling on thinking what can I and cant i do to my g82 to be better. Id love to get more hp and burbles but obviously without voiding warranty.

They probably aren’t willing to give up the secret on how it’s done. If they are the only ones that means they can charge however much they want

They can avoid EPA regulations and fines by not being in the USA. Look up what happened to most of the diesel tuners…millions of dollars in fines.
If you get an issue with your g80 & you take it to a bmw service centre.They can tell if you have tuned the car & it'll void your warranty

If you put a JB4 the dealer will know the turbos have been put on. If you want power you gotta pay to play. Alternatively you can buy another dme

Its all about cracking an encryption. Some people know how to do it.
My suggestion, buy a separate DME and tune that one. When going to service, put back the original one.

You should show the increase for each engine. I have a JCW f60 2023 a b48 engine. How much increasing power before I purchase?

How much are you paying on your M2 lease?
You shouldn't tune lease cars for sure, but if you own the car you should be able to do what you want provided it doesn't compromise safety.

They still work but they’re not accurate. I’m on BM3 e50 on my m340i and it says I get 520hp and 520tq. Well I dynod my car and I get 590hp and 590tq

They will work but peak out once you reach the limit.
