Today we continue the school bus to Redneck RV conversion and take off the stickers on the exterior. We also drive the bus to Walmart to do an economics lesson on inflation, recalling prices from 2003, 2013, and today, we were shocked at how much groceries have increased! We also offer one thing to do to help curb inflation in your home. Thanks for watching and God Bless!

You might want to check around at your local vo-tech schools about painting the bus. A lot of times it’s good experience for them and you only have to pay for supplies. Just a thought.
Oh that's an excellent idea helps the young people learn the trade I've known several people that had projects done for them at votech
Most of the bacon in the grocery stores are 12 oz instead of 16 oz anymore. Not only are prices greatly inflated, the product is shrinkflation.
I remember when I was Ransom's age , my father would complain that we were going to just stay at home, because gas had gone up to $.32 a gallon. You could get a bottle of coke for a dime and a popsicle for a nickel. You could get a whole handful of candy fo a penny. 😊
When I started driving in 1969, gas was $.33 a gallon! I had a small Buick Opel and filled it up for less than $5.00! ( The good old days!)😊❤
I remember those days. Penny candy was awesome. And my parents liked it when there were "gas wars" when gas was 25 cents per gallon. I used to ride my bicycle all over town for miles a day. I'd be gone and outside from about 9 or 10 am until dusk during the summertime. Spent lots of time at the town's public swimming pool or at the tennis court. And always had my transistor radio with me, playing the best music ever! 1960s and 1970s.
People were lucky to make $3.00 an hour.
That was top pay in1975. At a steel mill or Paper mill. Maybe the electric/power plant, not sure about the back then salary, but it was usually a steady full time job.
Unfortunately the so called inflation is not anything more than big companies making more money on customers, and giving big bonuses to the investors. I am a 70 year old Senior living off Social Security, and a small Veterans Disability, and the prices are a high, I cannot afford a good piece of steak, and hardly able to buy ground beef. Also many prices have gone up in Walmart branded groceries, and I have no ground or not able to grow a garden with the disability I have. Thank you for teaching your family about life’s lessons. God Bless 😊
Same. I’m on a Disabled Widow’s Stipend. It’s below the poverty line.
Very, very true. Corporate greed. And they admit it every time they post their profits. I know a shareholder of gas… she rejoices when gas prices go up.
Good advice! Check the vo-tech schools!
You probably should have used your G.I. Bill to go to college and learn the causes of inflation - like I did when I got out of the service.
Alternatively, since the G.I. Bill expires for the individual at 10 years, you could search the internet and self-educate.
An increase in the supply of money is the root of inflation, though this can play out through different mechanisms in the economy. A country's money supply can be increased by the monetary authorities by:
Printing and giving away more money to citizens (or foreign countries)
Legally devaluing (reducing the value of) the legal tender currency
Loaning new money into existence as reserve account credits through the banking system by purchasing government bonds from banks on the secondary market (the most common method)
Supply bottlenecks and shortages of key goods, causing other prices to rise.
In all of these cases, the money ends up losing its purchasing power.

Gary, get yourself some plastic wrap, painters tape, cover the windows, get a paint spray gun, do a quick sanding all over and go for it. $10,000 is a crazy amount of money to pay.
You can scuff the older paint with a SCOTCH BRITE GREEN. The spray your enamel paint.❤❤❤❤
When we got our dogs as pups, we immediately put the collars on and attached the leashes. We let them walk around the property with their leashes. They got used to waiting at the door for their leashes. After we got them used to us leading them around so they knew where their boundaries were, we removed their leashes and they knew where to go. This only took a couple weeks. The areas, urban and rural also make a difference.
Benjamin and Bell are so cute. Your bus will be in shape in no time, you have lots of good help.
Please pray for Karen, and her family of 8. They are homeless…a few friends and their church provided various housing at different times. Thank you!
Love and prayers 😇💜

Oh Gary, l learned today that there are specific types of zucchini & squash that grow vertical. Patty pan, Black Coral, Coco Zell, Costa Romanesco, to name a few. Not sure about all the spelling though. Sorry. God bless you all. 🙏🏻
Ransom did a great job getting the lettering off the bus. Changing the bus to a motor home is a great family project. ❤
If there is a Vo-Tech near by with a auto body class they might take on the paint job, we took a truck to Moore-Norman vo-tech and had it painted for next to nothing. I think it was just the cost of the paint
Paint it a camouflage style (use whatever colors you want). The camouflage would allow for errors without guilt or scrutiny! Oh and paint it yourself!
Hippy days were in the 1960s, I think.
I would leave it yellow and have the kids put a bunch of hand prints all over it in different bright colors... way cheaper!!!
Paint different colors like the Partridge family but not exactly make it Walker family style. Each kid can choose a color and it will give them pride in knowing they had a part of making it theirs.
😊👍
Name your bus The Walker Family Fun Bus!🤗❤
Paint it two tone. Leave yellow on top and around windows. Another color on bottom
Ransom looks good in that blue shirt. That's his color.
It’s cool how you remove the letters so easily.🎉🎉❤
Ransom, I’m proud of you for being open to learn new skills, etc. from your Father. He’s a cool Teacher too. Poppa, I’m proud of you for that too.
Love the Family. ❤❤😊😊
Just take the lettering off, take that $10,000 and put it towards the interior, then when you save up some cash, then paint it.
When I was born, a dozen eggs cost 70 cents
Apples 25 cents a lb.
Bacon 50 cents a lb.
Milk 50 cents a gallon
Ground beef 50 cents a lb. These costs are an average for the U.S. BTW, I actually have paid as little as 16 cents for a gallon of gas, hard to believe, that was in Waxahachie, Texas during a gas war with the neighboring gas stations, many years ago.
I remember Waxahachie myself, growing up my Dad worked at several of thw stations there.
What a fun video. You sure don’t realize how much inflation has shot up until you compare. It’s quite sad for a lot of people. ❤❤
Your kids seem so nice and sweet I’m sure they have their times but you guys raised some wonderful kiddos
I was born in 1966 I graduated from high school in 1985 something happened in the 70s when Jimmy Carter was President we had massive inflation prices have climbed steadily since and right after covid a huge inflation
It would be nice if the reflectors could stay on, so the bus can be seen better at night.😊. Great job Ransom and Mazzy for all your help on the bus.
We would put new ones on post paint
If yall have a VoTec school or trade learning school check them out for painting the bus they sometimes do that just for the cost of paint and a small fee
Gary have y'all thought about asking the school district who paints theirs and if you bought the paint could they do it.
Ransom is growing into a handsome little guy. He's always been a cutie.
Everyone looks great.
God Bless ❤️❤️❤️
They get them yellow from the factory
Love it when. Ramson waved his arm as bus
Started up his such a happy boy just love this little guy, his growing up so fast now, just stay as you are , he will break some little girl’s heart one day
My idea would be to leave the bus yellow, have animals painted around your logo. Could throw in a few flowers/veggies, anything farm related. If not paint, use high quality stickers like the lettering on the bus. Seems it would be quicker & a lot cheaper. Idea below is also great one. A trade school class... God bless. Luv ya all: GRAM👵in Texas.
I think when it's painted whether you do it yourself or have someone else to do it once it had been painted let the children put their handprints on it I think it would be nice
If you decide to paint it yourself..think about roll on truck bed liners..comes in different collors..you wound have to worry about rock chips.salt beaches scratches can get in larger cans..super strong 💪 last a long time..easy to apply gust roll on..can use brushes in tight and small areas..good luck..what colors are you thinking of ?
Thank you for the 20 yr inflation lesson. I knew things were much higher but didnt know how much. Its shocking!
I didnt realize the letters on school buses were peelable vinyl until you showed us that. Months ago yall talked about putting assorted stickers on the bus instead of paying to paint it because of the cost but I had no idea it was so costly to have it painted!😮
We don’t think the stickers would last
@@WalkerFarmFam use a clear coat paint/varnish over them, as one does with a boat? The clearcoate wouldnt have to be expertly painted to be neat and durable.
If you went that way, Temu do some display scenes, which I think might also be vinyl? you could cover some larger areas with a couple of those, & clearcoat which would completely change the look of it -
While you are thinking about the interior, iInsulating the roof inside would also help with the noise load ?
Good video. The baby lamb is sure growing. God bless you from Port Huron Michigan ❤.
Painting your bus...if you live close to a bigger town that has a trade school for auto body work, sometimes I think you can check with the school to see if they have any of their advanced students who could paint it for you. It may be worth looking into.
Ransom is growing up, handsome young man.
You can tell Ransom loves you so much and always wants to be with you! If someone missed the last video, you need to watch Mazzy singing! She is really good!
Not everything costs money or inflates.
2003 God's love ❤was free.
2024 God's love 💕 is still free.
If you save your seeds every year, you can even get gardening closer to free.
Monstaliner is a roll on bed liner paint that has been used as an all over application. They have some really nice colors. Y’all could have someone put their artistic spin on it for rolling advertisement. ✝️🙏🏼❤️
Im watching this with closed caption while i wait for my turn for surgery.
This video brings a smile & warm feeling. God Bless Ya’all for the comfort & joy you bring.❤❤❤❤😊
Prayers for full recovery Hello from Virginia❤

Praying for you.
If you paint the bus by yourself. Make sure to film it for your memories. Because you could paint it with your kids. The hardest part of painting it is the taping of windows, doors , lights, mirrors anything you don’t want painted like tires, bumper. After all the taping the rest goes pretty fast with paint gun . You can pick to paint it many colors like They did in bands. But be great family memories. Don’t paint until inside is done that way you’re not chipping your paint job.
I want beautiful fingernails like Miss Mazzy! Good job with the stickers off the bus. Wow, the garden has really grown up so fast! The garden is a wonderful way to get ORGANIC nutrition for the family. Wish that the person who was willing to have done my plowing/disking the garden for me had remembered. Had to plant some things in bins and garden bags, but not as much as I wanted to have planted. I can only hope next year or later this fall for next spring.
You can buy those stick on nails just like Mazzy's. 😅😅
Thank you Gary for educating your children 💙👊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💞💙💙💞💙
Hello from Michigan!
I remember when my mom complained that a candy bar went from a dime to 15 cents. Try teaching your kids to dial a rotary phone. Ours got a kick out of it! Our youngest was born in 2002. When she was little she asked when I was born. I told her in 1967. She said "You were born back the 1900's??!!"
By the way our oldest daughter bought a school bus last summer and has been converting it into an rv. She painted the exterior herself. She did a great job. She's almost done building the inside. She now is living in it in our backyard preparing to hit the road and be a digital nomad.
I took a homeschooled child with a friend to York (UK) as part of history class - it was pretty disconcerting to spend some time with them in a museum that has mock ups of kitchens and living rooms from the 50s, 60's and 70s just as I remember from my childhood - they thought it was hilarious as I and my friend took to reminiscing!
They were appalled to discover that we predate automatic washing machines, and clothes were boiled up in a "copper" to get them clean😂😂
Maybe paint it yourselves in big colorful patchwork pattern?
Such a fun day with the kids Gary! As for the bus.....10K is waaay to much when your trying to save money! I'd leave the top white, tape up the windows and such, and everyone just go all artsy fartsy on it. You can pick up some stencils the kids like, paint, even sponges and stuff to decorate it in several ways, for way less money and the design will be unique to your family. You can even have someone make a stencil with your WFF logo to use. Put clear sealer on it afterwards and you'll be good to go for years!😊
Inflation is off the rail at this point....that's all I'm gonna say about that! 😉🙄
😢To Paint a Bus, $10,000?? I live on less for a Whole Year!! Groceries are Ridiculous and Can't plant anything and Not Physically able too. RANSOM YOU DID A GREAT JOB ON THE LETTERS WITH DAD!!❤ I'm with You on the VANILLA ICE CREAM.
Wrap the bus with the Walker farm family insignia. You can probably design one on a computer app, with some of your famous animals scross the bottom. Benjamin, Turkey, dog., etc.
Paint it yourself. Go crazy with it.......tie dye, etc. You can have a first camping bus!!! Let the kids help too. Don't worry about looking perfect oor fancy, just have fun, plus, a whole lot cheaper!!!!
Paint it yourselves. Fun fam project.
Hey y’all! I love that Ransom boy! He probably resents me calling him a baby, but he’s so little and cute!❤ He’s always there to help! I was glad to see Mazzie get out and try to help as well! I love her sense of style, she’s growing up! I have a granddaughter right around her age! They’re so fun! Ranger looks worn out from soccer camp! The bus is looking good, Gary! Cassie, I was under the impression that teachers were off for the Summer too! I didn’t think y’all went back until a couple of weeks before school started? Anyway love y’all! Lots of prayers for everyone! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
Cassie has practices and various camps all summer
Painting a school bus. Big job. Kind of like shearing a sheep with scissors.
It will be great no matter what you do! 🚍🚍🚍
Paint it yourselves. My Dad did when I was a kid.❤❤❤❤❤ ❤
Paint it yourself with digital camo. Use USMC camo pattern. Or Air Force if you want to make it look Lighter.
Hi Walker family, I miss my garden, the bus looks great, I love the way Ransom wants to work around the farm I hope he wants to keep working in his teen years LOL Love the video God bless you all and until next time take care
Ransom really likes working with you.
If there is any adhesive still left on the paint after the letters are removed you can spray it with WD-40. WD-40 breaks the adhesive down and you can wipe it off easily with a towel.
Bus looked like fun for kids! Lucky kids to have a stay home Dad! Your baby ram is the cutest and kindest hope he stays that way!💙💙
I'd paint the bus myself believe me if I can paint a camping trailer You can paint a bus . I practiced before using the paint gun. No one had any negative remarks I'd at least try it You can always have it done professionally and maybe save a few thousand.
Ransom did a fantastic job with that heat gun heating up them ladders. Good job young man good job and Maddie looked very grown-up with the beautiful colors and then finger nails. Oh my goodness she is growing so fast. I hope you remember to get the stuff for tacos and the price of milk and Gary as of June 7, I graduated high school 50 years ago, yeah and you’re telling us you got out of school 20 years ago my goodness😂😂❤❤❤❤
Great to see Ransom and Mazzy helping with the bus...The garden is looking well.... Stay safe and see you on the next one
It’s great that you included the kids helping take the tape off the bus they enjoyed spending time with dad and dad enjoyed making the memories with the kids while they’re small somethings you just can’t forget. God bless the walker family
Try using a blow dryer to soften the numbers an it should help pulling the lettering off.Ransom you are really getting tall.zGod Bless the Walkers.
I love Walmart. The comparison in the difference in prices have been done for years. We used to do it in Home Economics.. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Gary when you were backing up the bus I noticed the right small light didn't come on. You might want to check it out. You almost gave me a heart attach on the price to have the bus painted. Perhaps you might want to call around. The hardiest part is the masking what doesn't need painting as time consuming. Prayers on that. So awesome seeing you out and about with the kids. Enjoyed and thanks. Love y'all
Paint is so expensive now, that it may be a close call as to which to do... If you figure how many gallons you'll need to calculate the cost difference, then it will be easy to decide, to paint or 'not' to paint :) Love how you make everything fun.
I had to stop at the heat gun section and go visit Robby Layton’s channel. He has been modifying a school bus but it’s when he was working to get sticky stuff off the painted metal that I wanted to double check. In his vid 2 days ago starts with major changes in the title at 16:15 Sean hands him O’Reilly Brake Pad Cleaner (the best I can read the can as it’s passed to him) and it pretty much instantly removes the sticky. Thought you might like to know that.
Also - Ransom is just an amazing kiddo. I haven’t been watching you guys for very long but he seems more and more comfortable with being in the videos. ❤
Good to know 👍🏼
Painting the bus yourself may end up costing you more unless you have an enclosed place to do it. It’s not as easy as it seems. The wrap sounds the best. God’s blessings
He bus is changing to a RV good job. ❤❤❤❤
Ransom is getting so grown up! ❤😊❤. Mazzy is just so sweet. Love Walker Farm Family!
Paint it like the Partridge Family bus. ;)
That's what I suggested when they first bought it.
That will be a difficult task to accomplish. There is alot to do in just getting the bus ready to paint.Good luck I'm anxious to see it when you are finished.♥️
Hope you remembered the chocolate chips!! So glad to see the dogs are getting alone. She isn’t so lonely without her buddy. Thanks for sharing 😁😁😁
Good afternoon!!😊
Enjoyed running errands with y'all. Glad Shelby and Bella are getting along so good.. Good job taking the letters off the bus. GOD bless y'all.
That was a very fun video.. Great job on the bus Walker Farm Fam❤❤
Ransom, great job on removing letters. Great price analysis. Great educational time for the kids. Belle and Benjamin are the cutest. Blessings 🙏🫶🙏🫶
Hi Gary & Cassie up here in Maine we figure a wrap only lasts about 5 to 7 years before it fades and cracks due to sun and ozone exposure. Paint should last at least 10 years.
Think partridge family bus ?
I think that’s a wonderful thing to teach the kids this way they will learn the value of money and understand how much things cost ❤
What child would not like to go shopping in a buss! Love it.
For some idea to remodel a bus go watch some of “Leave her wild” videos a few months back she redid a bus like yours! She’s very good at it has done several vans
Great lesson for the kids. When I first started driving, it was 19 cents a gallon. My dad got mad when it went to 25 cents. 😂. Ransom did a great job on the letters. He just soaks up everything he learns with you. Mazzy and Ranger, ya'll did great too! 🚍🚍🚍
I like Ransoms thinking on having a cot handy you never know when you might need to have a siesta 😂
Hi Gary and kids. I ordered a cart from amazon and it has four wheels. The wheels turn and swivel. It stays in my car and I use it to bring groceies in and it holds a ton. It also is used for my bags to go to daughters and coming home. Its so handy! It folds up and collapses. It pushes and turns on a dime. You need one for your deliveries and picking up mail. I also take to ulta they have no carts, or outside malls and antiques. They are a little expensive but so worth it! I even pushed granddaughter in it. She loved it.
You could paint it yourself. Tape up all windows. Get a spay gun and spay.
Ransom, you’re my kind of guy….i love vanilla ice cream!!
You’re such a great teacher. I love the way you teach your kids all parents needs to do that. Ransom is such a good helper. Take care and stay strong. God bless
Im very impressed with how yoy, Gary, love your kuds.. treat them so well but also guidance
Hi walker family. Looks like you’re having fun over summer break. Just the way it should be. Have a great weekend take care and God Bless. 💕🙏.
Ransom is such a little man. You have a right rear brake light out. What was wrong with it when it would go dead after setting awhile. Thank you for sharing.
Possibly alternator but I disconnect battery since it sits so long
Hello Gary & Ransom, sounds like a busy job on the bus, but your right by startiing with that first, by getting all the letters & numbers off. With your heat gun that will help a lot! Mazzy you look so pretty today😊. Those color look really good on you with your hair color👍 Benjamin is growing up so fast! He is so cute & I love his coloring. He will contribute to pretty lamb's
The garden looks good. Looks like you have been getting some awesome produce from it. Take care Gary, Cassie, Ranger,Mazzy & Ransom for the video, I really enjoyed it. God Bless, love you all! 🙏🥰🤗😋🎈✝️✌
Not being nosey but is little bear still with ya all
Yes
Gary explained recently that now he is more mobile he is less happy to sit in the stroller so its very difficult to include him in anything that's filmed as his face is such a fast moving thing - great that he is more independent, but we do miss his giggles
Gary your kids are awesome! But…. You’re an awesome dad. What a fun dad you are! My dad was awesome too! We lived on a farm by Clear Boggy Creek and we use to bathe and swim in it and dad would let me get on his back and he would swim under water with me on his back and my mom worked at Dairy Queen and boy could she make good curls on top!! 😊memories…. That’s what you’re making for your kids❤ blessings Gary over you and your family!❤ just a thought…. It would look cool to have your farm logo in the front above the windshield.! Love yall
Thanks so much
Funny the older the kids get the LESS THEY WANT TO BE VIDEO.😢😢😢😢😢 POOR Ranger doesn't think it's cool anymore.😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
Yep, teenagers
As for the paint, think of the old 'Partridge Family' TV show and the bus 'they' painted. Small panels with lots of different colors. Very identifiable and very cool (to a young person in the late 60's). Have fun.
Prayers for health and safety.🙏❤️🙏
I remember when gas was .25 cents a gallon.
I'd leave the bus yellow so that it can be seen a lot better by other motorists. Just add caravan stripes and block-out areas to break up the paintwork some.
I do love to see Ransom out helping no matter what the job is. And it is good to see Mazzy come out to help as well. I would love to see the family paint the bus! I love the garden and wish we had an area to grow a garden. We used to back when we had all five of our children living at home. Thank you for todays video Walker Farm Fam🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
I agree with Mazzie and Ransom to paint the bus yourselves. Maybe a family colleague with different things they're interested in. Sort of like future possibilities, or items of the states you've visited while on vacation. You could use spray acrylic paints.
Hey y’all😊 Cassie the last video you were walking around talking about when the sheep were in season… I know Benji is a mix but traditionally the Valais breed are always in season.. so I’m not sure if that will be true for him but the way you can tell visually is their lower stomach and legs are flushed bright pink.. 😊❤
👍🏼
Camouflage will hide any flaws. Cant go wrong with camo😊
Morning Garry i love watching you teaching Ransom doing new jobs around the farm and projects for the family the patients you show towards the children how you explain anything they question is lovely my dad was like that he would think nothink of stopping doing what he was doing to come and explain to use what we asked . We learned more from dad about everday knowledge that we'd need in are years to come than you'd ever learn at school. Or in the work environment. ❤❤
That is such a good idea!!! The family painting the bus. You and Cassie are too young, but look up The Partridge Family and their bus.
