Honest, and competent mechanics are worth their weight in gold. I used to use a mom and pop garage for 25 years, but the last time I was very disappointed. The old man that owned it has passed on, and it seems like the kids are not up to the same standards. It really sucks. More people need to get into that industry and they need to be paid more. I know that means more expensive service, but good service can save you thousands in the long run.

I had a '06 Corolla with a lean condition at 160K. Turns out the PCV valve was stuck open which explains why it ran a little rough at idle. This can cause the catalytic converter to fail, so replacing it every 50K miles could save you a bundle in the long run. And it's so easy that anyone can do it provided that you can find it, lol.

Just did one at 51,500 in my 2018 Forester. Its a dirt road New England car. My parents who both have Outbacks did theirs around 70-80k miles. My shop said they get two Subarus a week with that problem. Its crazy how hard it is to get the hub bearings off, they rust to the backing plate and they need to smash it off basically, breaking bolts in the process so you need new bolts too. They showed me the old parts when I picked up the car, amazing stuff.

I love my 2022 wrx, but I have had a lot of problems with the electronics and my engine has trouble starting twice in two years (the car is 100% stock) ask Subaru to check the car and they said "do you have a check engine?" I said no, but I'm telling you the engine didn't start and struggled a lot before finally starting. They said "if you can't show us the problem, then you pay for any observation" (189$ per hour). Even though I am still under Subaru warranty.
The driving experience is absolutely fantastic.
    All-wheel drive is awesome
    The handling is really good
The sound of the boxer 2.4 makes you smile
Really good performance (especially for the price)
But... from my experience, I don't think the car is reliable and many have warned me...
BUT, I still don't regret getting this car, it's my first sports car and I love it even with its flaws😊

Well at least it does not turn off the air conditioner, like some other makes. They really want your attention for any emissions problem now a days. Moral, never ever drive with your Gas cap off. I had a rental with out a gas cap that is who I know.

@@Flashman36175 omg don’t even get me started on that lol. I had a lemon Chevy cobalt I got for $500 and I thought it was a steal with only 90k miles. I soon found out why it only had 90k, if the car was running when the lights came on the AC/blower would quit, gauges would stop reading, the speakers wouldn’t work and it would shift hard, to make things worse if you shut the car off it wouldn’t start again till it felt like it. I used to have to unlock and lock the doors with the key fob a thousand times and that would make it start somehow. Never again

Let me tell you this Scott. I bought the 16 Impreza 2.0 to rebuild my credit score and OMG, it is horribly slow. When you try to accelerate the vehicle, it’s like the 95 year old man tries to get off the bed. Omg, the CVT trans is hilariously annoyed. Yeah…. It helps me to rebuild my credit and it’s affordable and save gas and bla bla but man…. Would I buy a brand new Subaru after a few more months ? HELL NO LMAO. I’m done with Subaru after this Impreza. This vehicle has 62k miles and the trans is already starting to get worse. 7 more months, I’m out of this thing.

Notice all the signs of oil leakage when Scotty was shining the flashlight down by the heat sensor(?)? Subaru uses silicone, not gaskets when constructing engines and it does not hold up over time. Leaks can occur in many places. That and the fact that all tires must be replaced if a single tire is damaged beyond b/c of the all-wheel drive system are reasons some people will not have one.

    • @Flashman36175
      @Flashman36175 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Look at the year. That is not the one with silicon on the cam carrier. Oh well. I do hear you about the silicon and other adhesives used in the construction of new cars; but it is almost all of them now not just Suburu. For what it is worth it looked like water, it was raining.

Its cars are held longer putting them on the roads over 10 years....longer than most other manufacturers. Also, if you cant afford regular requied maintenance then you probably shouldnt try to own one.
Plus, i knew id be the only driver and im not an agressive driver....
Kudos to other Subie drivers. Ive only one regret....wish id have kept my 2018 crosstrek instead of upgrading for bells and whistles for the 2021 sport....
