My dealer gave me a set of all-weather liners for my Forester Sport, and I tried to give them a chance. I ordered a set of WeatherTech liners within a month. Less expensive than the Subaru-branded liners, more complete coverage, and don't move around like the Subaru-branded liners. Well worth the expense!
Do Weathertech liners for 2021 Crosstrek's have "nubs" on the bottom and do the holes stay in place on the 2 pins? The liners I tried had neither and would have been dangerous to drive as the driver's side liner was sliding around.
@@BenditeOR That is a SUPER important consideration. The holes have to be designed properly. It is unsafe to have a thick mat sliding around near the pedals.
The Subaru all-weather floor mats are junk now. I've been using the factory rubber mats on multiple Subarus ever since I had a 99 2.5RS and they were great. The coverage on the new ones is severely limited and as shown in this video, all the dust, dirt, and debris collects all around them, especially up and behind the pedals. They used to be nice and thick and heavy with deep grooves to catch debris. Now they are quite thin and flimsy. They are very easy to remove and clean but TuxMat and / or Weather Tech mats give you way more complete coverage and actually keep your carpets clean.
I agree with the new Subaru all weather floor mats being junk. The passenger side front mat never stays put and thus is useless. The ones in the back as well as the drivers side allow for too much stuff to get past them. To be honest, have not tried weather tech or any other mat, but something has to be better than these.
I experienced this with my 2015 impreza, so I went with TuxMats for my 2020 outback. I LOVE the way they cover up the sides way higher and since they're not just pure rubber, they're not prone to warping or cracking. I have much cleaner carpets than I did with the subaru mats. The cargo mat and seat back protectors I still think the OEM are best because of fit. I got the wheel covers and those only work with the OEM.
@@mandar66 Me too. I have the Tux Mats all throughout the front and rear seats. The protection is far superior to the OEM rubber and I really like the look. The fit is not 1000% perfect, especially in the back but with all the velcro and clips they give you, it's fairly seamless to tie it all in. The OEM mats in the rear cargo area are great. I've never seen the offerings from TuxMat or WT back there but I have all the OEM stuff: seat back protectors, wheel well covers, and cargo mat and have zero issues with any of them.
I recommend the Subaru Pet Rear Door Protectors as well. We have them and love how the thick, semi-rigid panels protect the doors from scratches by our dogs and also prevent them from accidently activating the windows or door lock.
@ they are pretty easy to install and remove. You just have to pay attention to both tabs going into window between lower seal and glass as you insert them. We only put them on when we are planning to travel with the dogs as they are rigid but hang loose at bottom so get in the way a bit if I want to put something in the rear door storage bins.
I traded my 2018 in with the hitch I had installed aftermarket. When inquiring on a OEM hitch for the 2025, I was quoted $1200 incl installation at the dealership. Uh? Not happening. I bought an aftermarket hitch and will have the same Subaru independent shop install. Total about $450.
We bought WeatherTech Floor Liners for our 2015 Forester, but the brand new Ascent we took delivery of last week had the floorliners as a factory provided option. Might have preferred the WeatherTech Floor Liners, but so be it. The carpeted floor mats are going in the basement... Side note, I once had a Nissan Micra as a rental when on a business trip to Canada. It had a vinyl floor as opposed to carpet. That made so much sense to me! The dealer offered us a discount on any accessories we wanted when we bought the car, so we opted for 2nd and 3rd row seatback protectors (we have rear seatback protectors on our 2015 Forester). We don't have pets, but it made sense to protect the seat backs. We opted for the hitch too. We bought through the Costco Auto Program (highly recommended!!!) who offers a 50% discount (up to $200 off) on accessories after completing a survey (post-purchase). We'll use that for the bike carrier! Ooooo - Fixed gear bike! We were thinking about the Subaru Thule 4-bike carrier. Not likely that we'd carry any more than 2-bikes ever. Any pros/cons with respect to the ones that Subaru offers? From your other video, I believe the wireless phone charger is the regretted accessory. We had it installed as my wife really wanted wireless charging. Opted for the properly fitting windshield sunshade too.
I have all of these for my Forester except the cargo net. I have the all weather mats, the cargo mat, the rear seat protectors (+ rear wheel covers) and the bumper cover. Those are are useful if you transport anything heavy, wet or dirty. I have a few marks on my rear bumper cover so that definitely has come in handy by preventing paint damage. On a side note, most of these items can be bought at your leisure online when there are discounts at parts.subaru, shipped and installed yourself to save a few bucks.
Another great pet accessory is the cover for the back seat. My dog is a back seat rider and I buckle her in with a car harness. The back seat cover is great for those occasions when she tracks mud and sand into the car or she gets a bit car sick. I have a Kurgo one in my Crosstrek and it doesn't quite fit, so I'm thinking of getting the Subaru one instead. Also my favorite car harness for dogs is the Ruffwear. I have a big Bernedoodle and it fits her great. Very easy to use.
Heard so much about them, I wish they were selling worldwide. I'm ok with Subaru mats, but quite often in snowy weather snow does get to carpet below mats, especially in second row, so I wish I had better floor mats.
Auto dimming side mirrors are an item I wish I bought installed. They were a bit finicky to add myself but ultimately it's been great having them. I wish I got those instead of the useless wireless charger that was barely charging my phone and would just heat it up.
I had the auto dimming mirrors in my Saab so I knew I needed them. Easy to change out once the first side was installed. I agree that the charger is unless, particularly if you have the phone in a case.
My 2020 Outback came with the Subaru all-weather floor mats installed by the dealer, as well as the carpeted mats in their plastic bags (where they still are.) I immediately switched to WeatherTech. They are superior to the factory offering in almost every regard. The factory cargo area mat I left in place. It's serviceable, if not ideal.
Optional equipment I always get for my Outback is additional cargo compartment tie down hooks that fit into pre-sunk interior bolt holes that are often covered with a pop-out cover; great for bungee and cargo net attachments. I usually get four, which work well with the Cargo Sidewall Protectors [Part Number: J501SAN260] you mentioned. Thanks again for a useful and well-presented video. I also like the bumper cover, altho ... [spoiler alert] ... ... I usually install as the hourly rate at my dealership - which I absolutely love - is often more expensive than the option I am adding.
The Subaru mats do not have a big enough lip. I immediately switched to Weathertech. I put the bumper guard on my 2024 Outback Limited XT. My 2019 Outback Premium came with the bumper guard. You would think the 2024 Limited trim level would have came with it. An accessory I also bought for both of my Outbacks was the OEM door trim. Bought online from Subaru for $100 less than my local dealership. Paid them $50 to install it. As always thanks for the GREAT VIDEOS!
I buy Husky floor mats. They fit great in the three cars we have. I've put them my 13 Scion XB, 14 Impreza and 19 Outback. I found they are more affordable than Weathertech.
What I've done so far to make my '21 Outback Touring XT just a little bit better and more livable on a daily basis: 1.) Autostop Eliminator. 2.) Neatly wrapped the Driver Focus sensor in matte vinyl. The flashing red sensor was driving me absolutely bonkers at night. 3.) A cheap, fake carbon fiber cover for the piano black around the shifter from Amazon, painted matte black. 4.) Weathertech liners. 5.) Just arrived, but not installed- rear sway bar reinforcements and a CVT anti-wobble insert from Anderson Design Fabrication. Will be tackling those this weekend. 6.) Replaced the trash Yokohamas with a set of Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3s. These mods have taken a very good car and made it even better. Next up with be an STI flexible front strut tower brace and MAYBE a Perrin pitch stop mount.
I got the all weather mats, the rear cargo mat, and the trailer hitch. I need that rear bumper cover thingy! I noticed mine is scratching up after only a few weeks.
FYI.....My 2024 Forester has the floor liners and the carpet floor mats fit perfectly in them. Your video states not to use both at the same time but they are a perfect fit even with the stabilizer on the driver side. The post is deep enough for both to be in place.
We have an old Thule classic t2 we use with our 4Runner and love it. We bought a 2023 outback touring xt in 2022 and still need add a trailer hitch on it so we can start traveling with our bikes on the outback. Thank you for all of your great videos. I don’t drive the vehicle as much because I work at home, but I learn a lot from watching your videos.
Nice R32 man. Had 1.8T which was fun but the R32 was the dream. Currently driving a 2014 STi Tsurugi stage 3 with the SPT catback. Great fun, loud and legal.
Super glad that the info on the dual deploy of the cargo net is helping! Extra bonus is that when I have both nets deployed, there's just enough room between the vertical one and the tailgate of my Forester to place my grocery shopping and trap it in. (I'm usually shopping for one. More than that, it probably would work.) I've been getting to LEX for work and keep thinking I'm in the right town to say hi but realize I'm not.
All Great Stuff! My family and I LOVE Subarus. Between all of the members of my family, we have owned 16 and possibly 17 different Subarus since the mid-1980s. I have owned a total of 5 myself. I currently own 2016 and 2018 hm a 2019 Ascent. I previously owned a 1989 Subaru GL hatchback and a 2001 Forester. I've got the heavy-duty floor mats, the rear compartment and rear seat protectors on my 2019 Accent. I also have the cargo net and the Subaru trailer-hitch. The Ascent also has a cover for the trailer hitch, which hides the hitch when not in use.
I had no idea that there were two cargo nets there. I don't typically use them so I haven't even opened mine, and in all fairness I've had my new Outback for less than a month and my old Outback didn't come with the cargo net standard. Every video, I learn something new!
A quick search on Amazon and I found A few inexpensive upgrades that brought my 2015 Outback a little more up to date. LED interior lighting kit Puddle lights that display the Outback name with mountains A simple plastic divider for the center console And a tough hard plastic bumper Cover with simple peel.and stick attachment method I like the net, I'll have to look into that one. Thanks for the video, well done.
I added an Autostop Eliminator. That just drove me crazy. I also added bright puddle lights that show a pic of my Forester Then I added front seat covers and a pet cover for the rear seats. Next I will be adding an LED light in the cargo area. The LED upgrade came with the car but not the cargo light, it drives me crazy so that will be next. I also have the Subaru Sunshade for the front window and it is a perfect fit and it keeps the sun out, which is important here in SoFlo.
Where did you find the Autostop Eliminator? That drives me crazy, too. As well as the shade line across the windshield at night due to the brightness of the headlights (so I'm told).
I ordered it from Amazon and it looks identical to the original switch except it works in reverse. It took 30 minutes for me to install and the cost was around $50. It was worth every penny! I can look up the details if you need more info. However, I am sure you can find it. Good Luck!
Both my 2016 Legacy and my 2023 Ascent were ordered by the dealer from the factory with the All Weather floor mats (Or they were part of a "Popular Package") as they are on the window sticker. The carpet mats are under a bed never having been used. When I lived in Illinois I ended up getting Weathertech floor liners for the Legacy because I found the All Weather mats inadequate during the winter. I had 3 kids in back, and the uncovered carpet on the tunnel would get crusty from road salt brough in on shoes which was not the case with one piece WeatherTech mat covering the whole floor. It also did a better job for the driver going up on the left foot rest and underneath the accelerator pedal. The all weather are fine for my Ascent as I rarely drive in snow. I wish the Ascent just included the trailer hitch from the factory as standard - I was considering it just to have it until I learned what the dealer would charge to install it. I tried to see if it was something I could do, but removing the bumper cover on a brand new vehicle was not something I wanted to do. I only got the rear seat protectors for the back of the third row in the Ascent - I don't think they look that good and would not want them visible on the back of the captains chairs. It's fine when they are in the cargo area. They weren't mentioned but getting cross bars and a Thule cargo box are nice to have with the Ascent so you can hold 6 or 7 people and their luggage. I also covered the cross bars with cut foam pool noodles and moved a king size metal head board. I also got an aftermarket cargo net on Amazon which was 1/2 the price and seems as good as the Subaru net.
absolutely need the rubber weather mats, shallow boot liner and mud/splash guards. silver/metal bumper protector also looks cool. fitted to all my Outback's so far, inc my current 2022 Touring.
The problem with the rear seat protectors is that they strap on around the posts of the head rests. Since I NEVER have anyone in my back seat (I always keep the headrests in the car just in case), I take them off for better rear window visibility. Then the rear seat protectors can't be used.
When I bought the rear seat protector they came with velcro and a double sided tape. And I just stick them on the back of the seats. I don't even need the strap that goes around the head rest. Maybe try this if it helps :)
I have to agree with others, the new so-called all-weather mats are too flimsy, I replaced all the mats and cargo liner with the 'Smartliner Maxliners since I didn't feel like paying for the Weather-Techs. They are much thicker, excellent coverage, and look good!
On the cargo net, for my 2023 Outback Limited, I had to drill holes and install the mounts. There was a web site that I was supposed to go to to get the installation instructions along with a template to show you where to drill, but the template wasn't there. I ended up getting a copy of the template from the dealer when I took it in for an oil change.
Great video Alex! From the Forester perspective I always get: Subaru Sun Shield which folds nicely and is made to fit. Not just for sun, people can’t see anything inside of interest. Yes Subaru OEM Hitch! Front hood deflector. Side window deflectors so you can crack windows and not get rain and snow inside (learned about them while living in Wisconsin). Rear seat protectors. Cargo Cover and rear Cargo Net. After delivery I get the windows tinted (aftermarket) as here in New Mexico they keep my Crystal Green Silica Premium Forster quite cool for the pup and passengers, and no interstate tan on long summer road trips. Not “equipment” per se but the upgraded My Subaru for $5 a month is a great value! Cheers, Michael Albuquerque NM USA,
I didn’t get a bumper cover for my forester touring it had a small scratch so I got a bumper cover off eBay. It is a definite need if you are carrying stuff in the back.👍
I love these videos! Thank you for doing them. Love my Outback Wilderness - the floor mats and rear mat came standard. I bought the seat back covers + wheel covers. They all do the trick to keep the carpets free of debris. I also bought the trailer hitch (had the dealer install it) and the cargo net. They work great! Some other things you didn’t mention that I bought from Subaru, and am very happy with are; the window deflectors, cargo organizer, and the sunscreen. I also bought from Thule a cargo carrier and an awning. I’m very happy with my setup! Thank again for these videos.
I agrre with the cargo organizers, I bought several from Amazon at less than $20 each. Now my cargo area has a grid of storage squares, nothing rattles around. The organizers fold up easily when I need bigger space for items. Best investment ever.
I agree about the cargo organizers. Bought several sets of organizers from Amazon at less than 20 bucks each. My cargo area is now a grid of storage boxes that keeps things from rattling around.

Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, what did the dealer charge you for the hitch install? I need to get one too and was debating whether to do it myself or have them handle it.
I have a 2018 outback limited I did upgrade to the weathertech floor mats, I do have the back seat cargo covers the cargo net is extremely nice I wish I had that one, I do have the bumper cover, I also have the subaru hitch it's a great add on I bought the 3.6 I wanted just a bit more power over my old 2.5
Wish the front passenger floor liner had hooks to keep it in place like the drivers side. Get tired of having to keep sliding it back every time someone gets in or gets out.
Hi Alex, I have a video suggestion: we have a 2024 Wilderness Outback. Would you please make a video of all the headlight possibilities? There are two dials and I am unsure what all the options are. I have learned so much from your channel. Thank you🚙
I'm about to get my next Subie, after a 40 year hiatus from my last Brat. This was helpful in fine- tuning my purchase choices. Pretty pumped about this.
Weather Tech's new floor mats are WAY better than anything Subaru offers. Use velcro for the seat back protectors. Those straps look ridiculous. The "studs"needed to hook up the cargo net aren't normally installed. Unless you have the dealer install them, you'll have to drill holes in your car. And something he didn't cover are the splash guards or mud flaps. Forget the ones Subaru offers. They're too short. Everything just gets flung underneath them. Again, Weather Tech is better.
I would like to have a snorkel for the Forester, I have a 2022 and sometimes I feel afraid to go through rivers. I want one to develop specific for the Forester and not a generic one or created in a workshop.
The front all-weather floor liners supplied by Subaru are not very good. The passenger side in my 2024 Outback does not stay in place. Probably an easy fix though.
The slipping front passenger mat has been going on since ‘16, probably up and down the lineup. I’ve got a Forester and an Impreza, both ’16s, and the front mats slip too. Either new owners haven’t noticed by the 90-day mark or they keep forgetting to report it on their 90-day ownership survey. Buying an aftermarket one shouldn’t be the answer, especially since it’s been a complaint since ‘16.
I purchased custom made canvas seat cover for my forester to help protect the seat from spills, etc. Only problem is they get hot during ther summer, cold during winter and also loose items tend to slide about.
Alex you are the best in the business and have helped me more times than you know. But oh my please clean your car❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗 only saying it with love ☺️
@@alexpmo Hi Alex thanks for the response. I have a 2022 Subaru Forester and I am so OCD with my car. Would you believe there isn't a piece of lint anywhere. Looks like it just came out of the show room ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️🥰🥰 just love my car❤️❤️
I recently found your channel while researching the Outback Wilderness. We just bought an Ascent for my wife, and that’s when I learned about the Outback Wilderness Your reviews have really sold me on the Outback Wilderness, and now I’m debating whether to purchase a 2025 now, or waiting until spring for the 2026. Do you have any timeline to when Subaru might announce the changes to the 2026, or what the changes will be? Keep up the great videos. Thank you
Well, don’t I feel smart? I ordered my 2022 Crosstrek with all these accessories except the Thule bike rack. The only disappointment was the hitch had to be installed after vehicle delivery, and the part was back ordered. It took three months to get it. Maybe that was part of the supply chain issues back then, though.
Those tires and wheels are awesome! What size are your tires and wheels? Who makes the wheels? I noticed your driver’s side seat stitching is coming out. Hopefully it would be covered under warranty for such a new car.
I replaced the all-weather floor liners in my 2024 Outback with WeatherTech liners. While I appreciate the ones that came with the Subaru, the WeatherTech liners cover much more area and rise higher all around. As a result, I have much less debris spillover than that shown here. The Subaru’s are better than floor mats, but the WeatherTech takes the trophy for the all-weather design, IMHO.
Hey Subaru - make these plastic liners taller and cheaper. We should have a choice of carpet or plastic. There should be no need to pay for something that doesn’t fit the lifestyle of the customer. Especially that S makes outdoor cars 😂❤ I would love to see the whole floor to be plastic, not carpet 😂❤
@@alexpmo as a matter of fact, over the years many bicycle manufacturer brands re-branded their bicycles as a “sales pitch” to Subaru and used to display them in their show rooms to help sell their accessories.
I put mine just below the black shaded area behind the rear-view mirror. Just make sure that the camera doesn't interfere with your Eye-Sight cameras. You can easily test that.
Do you know anything about a Class Action Suite against Subaru - regarding the Outback 2020-2021 years regarding eyesight malfunction? I have a 2020. Just read some short blurb… need to know more.
I am wating on one for the CCU. Mine since new thought it was 2044.... after the software recall update it would not take any updates. Had 3 dealers try to update it underwarenty no go. Now it's out of warenty. SoA never would cover changing out the CCU. Now it's out of warenty and it crashes every 4 hours while driving.
@@Wrang15 They should cover issues that occurred before expiration. Imagine your engine blew up under warranty and they waited until the warranty expired and then refused to fix it. You brought it in when it was covered so they still have to cover it.
@danielboughton3624 crazy thing is the battery died in the car. So it reset the CCU. So that system now works after a total power disconnect for a new battery. How dealers don't know to try a hard reboot, I will never know.,
Do you know the subaru PN for the cargo net? I see F551SFL000 for the crosstrek, but the pictures don't look like it has the second piece that covers the floor. Looks like F551SAN000 is the Outback PN. TIA
Hey, love your channel! Just bought a 2025 Outback, pretty excited, but having a little buyers remorse as I keep seeing comments and videos about CVT concerns. Should I worry?
@@smkunder1 welcome to the Subaru family! I wouldn’t be concerned with the cvt in the modern Subarus. The concerns and comments you see online are from older generations. Congrats and enjoy!
I would add a full glass screen protector for the Infotainment center. The screen protector costs 20 bucks on Amazon, (several brands to choose from and easy to install and looks great). Replacing the screen through Subaru if it cracks, scratches or stains costs 1500 bucks. Easy decision.
I put one on the screen in my wife’s Highlander, and it was a very good investment. I got a matte one, really reduced sun glare on that puppy. It’s smaller than Subaru one, so I bet it would be even better in a subie
Hi Alex, 2 time Crosstrek Limited owner here. First (2020) had the rear bumper guard. 2024 doesn't. Should i order the guard, can I install this or is this a dealer install only? Enjoying your videos for years. You are a great ambassador for Subaru. All the best! "The JJ", SW Penna.
The dealer can install it for your but they will likely charge labor for it. I've installed many myself and it's easy to install, but also easy to mess up if you don't get it lined up perfectly. I need to do a video showing how it's done!
My 2016 has had weathertech floor liners, Rally Armor mud flaps and factory wind deflectors from day one. The BEST accessorie is an $8.00 blue poly tarp that lives in the cargo area and gets spread out before every load. It's long enough to unfurl over the rear bumper so ski pants don't get dirty. The carpets and cargo area still look factory fresh.
Great video. I have everything except the cargo net which I should get because I’ve almost lost a few things when opening the hatch!! Also I just learned from someone that just bought a 2024 Forester. She ordered a ‘25 Forester but they don’t make a hitch for that and because of the foot thing that opens it, would be in the way of the hitch? I have an Outback with the hand wave opening feature which I really like.
The weather mats are a step better than what Subaru used to have, but someone must be doing some research because mostSubaru owners will go to WeatherTech since they have a much higher side that actually keeps out more elements and salt off of the carpet. I wish that subaru had their weather mats more like that.
@@martinr8278 I like the older Subaru rubber mats way better than the new ones. Either way, the ones Subaru sells now are basically useless in comparison to WeatherTech or TuxMat.
Hey man nice vid - I own a 19' Forester Touring and bought it certified from dealer, came with weathertech lines front, rear and cargo, net, cargo cover for trunk area, recently i bought the subaru OEM sunshade for a perfect fit and the aero roof rack bars. my next upgrade will probably be the hitch with a nice bike rack for me and my fiance. My OEM radio went back and subaru replaced it with only $100 deductible, saving us over $1500 in parts and labor. Recently did the 60k mile service on it and the difference is day and night. I service it every 4-5k and plan on keeping it for a long time. my 3rd Subaru overall and always a fan of the K&N air filters / oil filters too, better response time for highway merging. The ride quality was significantly improved for the newer platform from the 2018 version foresters. Going to eventually buy Michelin crossclimate 2's in the next few months. Its cool to see younger (20s-30s) drivers owning Subarus. Hopefully it keeps us safe on the road and last us a long time. Have owned it for a total of 34,000 miles so far.
The two last Subarus I bought new have had CVT's go out before 50,000 miles. The last one a 2019 Subaru outback has been a lemom. Three batteries, fuel pump recall, terrible navigation system prompting a class action suit, etc. I was advised to take it to the dealer for a DCM check that causes battey drain. The parts were so faulty they warranty them for 100,000 miles. The dealer said it would be $199 to check it. Subau advocacy promises and lies. Below is just a small example. I hope you are well. I'm sorry that I would not have your service records to provide. My recommendation would be to request your service records from each respective Subaru retailer. I will be following up with you on Wednesday, 12/18. Have a nice weekend. I hope you are well. I am following up as promised however, the lemon law review is taking longer than anticipated. My apologies for the delay and I would be happy to follow up with you again on Monday, 12/23. Have a nice evening. I am writing to follow up as promised. As I stated in my previous email, the review is taking longer than anticipated. Due to the holiday, I will follow up with you again on 12/31. My apologies for the delay. Happy Holidays! DON'T BUY SUBARU. You may get a good one if they make one. The CVT's before 2019 were so bad that they had to extend the warranty till 100,000 miles. They replaced fault DCM's with defaulty ones. The navigation systems are terrible and they changed companies from Tom Tom to who knows what.
Another useful item I've bought is a storage dash tray that replaces the fuse box cover located at the lower left side of the dash.
Weathertech floor mats are well worth the expense. Perfect fit.
The Husky brand from Amazon works just as well too.
@Django44 I just got tuxmats for my outback and the driver's side goes up as high as it can because of the dash.
No issues with my OEM mats on my 2018 Outback
I recommend the Subaru Pet Rear Door Protectors as well. We have them and love how the thick, semi-rigid panels protect the doors from scratches by our dogs and also prevent them from accidently activating the windows or door lock.
Considering these. Easy to install? Do you leave them on all the time or are they easy enough to put on only when needed
Subaru’s website says $750 - what’s going on?
A rain visor is a nice accessory
I replaced all floor mats with tuxmats, they cover all the exposed fabric. Best money spent on the car so far.
Heard so much about them, I wish they were selling worldwide.
I'm ok with Subaru mats, but quite often in snowy weather snow does get to carpet below mats, especially in second row, so I wish I had better floor mats.
I have them in my OBW, love them!!!
Alex, Another great video. I just bought a 2025 Outback and so far love it.
The cargo net is awesome for putting grocery bags in. Can’t believe they make bike racks without lights.
I also recommend the hood protector. I have no chips on my hood after a year of driving including in snow
I buy Husky floor mats. They fit great in the three cars we have. I've put them my 13 Scion XB, 14 Impreza and 19 Outback. I found they are more affordable than Weathertech.
What I've done so far to make my '21 Outback Touring XT just a little bit better and more livable on a daily basis:
1.) Autostop Eliminator.
The real "5 have must accessories" , the recommendations in the vid were just too basic 😆
@@lonematrix Great tips. Thank you.
Thanks, love your dog! I immediately switched to weathertechs and RuffTough dog crates for my Forester.
@@brucemaccaul4145 Thanks man! I had a 1.8t years ago that got me hooked on VW. Such a fun car to drive and the sounds it makes are amazing 😁
LED interior lighting kit
Puddle lights that display the Outback name with mountains
A simple plastic divider for the center console
And a tough hard plastic bumper Cover with simple peel.and stick attachment method
I like the net, I'll have to look into that one.
Thanks for the video, well done.
I’d put reflective strips on the bike rack.
Subaru rear seat back covers are so useful!
Yes, the Subaru All weather floor mats or junk I went with WeatherTech and Could not be happier
My weather tech mats side are curled. Which they do not stay flush. Drive me crazy
Smart Liner is great Weather Tech alternative at half the price.
Good Luck!
Gm Alex you are a great person I love your videos it help me a lot with my Subaru thank you much keep up the great work
Both my 2016 Legacy and my 2023 Ascent were ordered by the dealer from the factory with the All Weather floor mats (Or they were part of a "Popular Package") as they are on the window sticker.
I put the net on the back clips next to the rear seats. For the rest of the rear area, i have a collapsible cooler that holds stuff.
absolutely need the rubber weather mats, shallow boot liner and mud/splash guards. silver/metal bumper protector also looks cool. fitted to all my Outback's so far, inc my current 2022 Touring.
The weather tech are great (better than Subaru offers)
The problem with the rear seat protectors is that they strap on around the posts of the head rests. Since I NEVER have anyone in my back seat (I always keep the headrests in the car just in case), I take them off for better rear window visibility. Then the rear seat protectors can't be used.
When I bought the rear seat protector they came with velcro and a double sided tape. And I just stick them on the back of the seats. I don't even need the strap that goes around the head rest. Maybe try this if it helps :)
Great video as always. I suggest blurring your license plate #, you never know nowadays.
Great job, thanks, I just told my friend about your site as she too now owns a Subaru
How bout the handle cup covers -- they say STi on them but I hate those scratches that develop over time in that cup under the handles.
My husband and I really enjoyed your video. I don't know how to put my favourites into my contacts. Can you share a video on the Subaru phone?
The hitch receiver also has a 7 pin?? I didn't know that! I'm going to have to take another look at mine...
Cheers, Michael Albuquerque NM USA,
Thanks Michael!
I didn’t get a bumper cover for my forester touring it had a small scratch so I got a bumper cover off eBay. It is a definite need if you are carrying stuff in the back.👍
I just bought this same vehicle! Even same color!

Be careful with hauling stuff if the Subaru you get has the CVT they do not last long if you use it for a lot of towing@@Earthboundicarus
We bought a new 23 Ascent here in CT and it came with WeatherTech mats included. Not sure if it was just the dealer or direct from factory.
I have a 2018 outback limited I did upgrade to the weathertech floor mats, I do have the back seat cargo covers the cargo net is extremely nice I wish I had that one, I do have the bumper cover, I also have the subaru hitch it's a great add on I bought the 3.6 I wanted just a bit more power over my old 2.5
Always great videos and infomation! Thanks! German Shorthaired Pointers Rule!
She's a handful but we love her!
I really like the moonroof visor that is really nice for me
I use Husky Liners for both my Subarus & they are great. Better price than Weathertec liners.
Considering an Outback and checking it out tomorrow so this was very helpful
Plan to spend hours figuring out the crazy electronics so many useless and confusing gadgets that you’ll need to learn how to turn off
Wish the front passenger floor liner had hooks to keep it in place like the drivers side. Get tired of having to keep sliding it back every time someone gets in or gets out.
I constantly have this problem too. In both of our Subarus. And some people’s shoes, when the ride in the passenger’s side make such a mess.
Tux Mats are FAR superior to OEM or even Weather Tech. They're not pure rubber, so they don't warp or crack.
The studs are a simple install. Takes less then 5 minutes. It's just plastic you have to drill. Cutting the templet took me longer.
I agree. The mats are flimsy. Weather tech is worth the money
There is, buy the Weathertech liners.
TuxMats are superior! The coverage is amazing and they are just as easy to clean.
Thanks for working on your day off……❤️🌵🎄
purchased a second spacer cup holder since off the lot it only has one spacer.
I purchased custom made canvas seat cover for my forester to help protect the seat from spills, etc. Only problem is they get hot during ther summer, cold during winter and also loose items tend to slide about.
I keep moving my side cargo nets from my older cars when I get a new one, not sure if they even make them anymore!
Alex you are the best in the business and have helped me more times than you know. But oh my please clean your car❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗 only saying it with love ☺️
Thank you! It definitely needs it, I'll give you that! 😂
What about a rain proof zippered cargo bag for the luggage rack?
Thanks for sharing! Cool shirt! I'm like... obsessed with wildlife photography!
Those tires and wheels are awesome! What size are your tires and wheels? Who makes the wheels? I noticed your driver’s side seat stitching is coming out. Hopefully it would be covered under warranty for such a new car.
I brought the 2025 outback onyx a month ago, Can I get the Tow hitch installed from dealer now ?
Especially that S makes outdoor cars 😂❤
I would love to see the whole floor to be plastic, not carpet 😂❤
I like the single speed gravel bike. Do you remember in 2008 when Fuji made the Subaru bicycle?
Didn’t know they did that!
@@alexpmo as a matter of fact, over the years many bicycle manufacturer brands re-branded their bicycles as a “sales pitch” to Subaru and used to display them in their show rooms to help sell their accessories.
Where do you put dashcams in Subaru's.
I put mine just below the black shaded area behind the rear-view mirror. Just make sure that the camera doesn't interfere with your Eye-Sight cameras. You can easily test that.
I replaced Subaru all weather floor mats for Husky liners way better! More coverage!
@@Wrang15 I would have thought the warranty would have to be extended until they fix the issue.
@@mmsnbc9118 not that I know of.
How dealers don't know to try a hard reboot, I will never know.,
Thanks! Going this weekend to see what I want!🎉
Rain guards for the doors, first thing.
Do you know the subaru PN for the cargo net? I see F551SFL000 for the crosstrek, but the pictures don't look like it has the second piece that covers the floor. Looks like F551SAN000 is the Outback PN. TIA
Can you please provide a link oem receiver?
@@alexpmo Thanks, Alex, for the speedy reply.
What effect did wind deflectors have .? Did you get them at the dealership or somewhere else
Weathertech are the best floor liners. I have them in my Subaru Outback and my Toyota Tacoma .
My recently purchased Outback came with Weathertech liners.
The navigation systems are terrible and they changed companies from Tom Tom to who knows what.
lol everyone knows that the #1 accessory for any Subaru is the AutoStop Eliminator
Ya~ where I can find one?
Any recommendations for Subaru Forrester 19inch wheel
For the winters in Alberta
Weather tech doesn’t have the 2025 floor mats yet for my new Forester. 🙁
The little accent light above the wireless charger in crosstrek, is there a way to turn that off??
do you have a link for the subaru cargo net with 2 inserts.
Merci Alex ! Toujours intéressant
2016 forester with brake light switch issues. Is there a fix? Without going to a dealer?
